Web services and crossdomain.xml HELP

Hello
I am using the web services connector to consume a service it
all works
fine in flash however in the browser it fails
I can see it trying to load crossdomain.xml at the domain of
the WS
provider this is despite my putting:
System.security.loadPolicyFile("
http://dev.chatham.site/crossdomain.xml");
frankly I am at a loss as to how to make this work I have
tried.
var allowpath = "
http://www.postcoderwebsoap.co.uk";
System.security.allowDomain(allowpath);
how the hell do you let the connector connect?
any insight would be greatly apreciated
Rich

Hi all,
This is a follow-up to the question I posted and answered myself yesterday.
I have created a web service that returns Hebrew words in a string format of an XML document. This all appears to be working fine at this point. The only problem is that when I'm debugging in NetBeans, certain hebrew characters/words (note: some characters / words work!) xerces gives me an invalid utf-8 string (byte 1 of 2) exception in the display of the SOAP response - not the response itself, but I think in whatever netbeans is doing to display it. Not sure i follow. Are you referring to the debugger screens where the IDE shows variables/stacks etc? If so, i would say not to worry too much. IDE's are not perfect.
I have tried testing the strings I am returning by themselves - xerces can parse when I save them into a file and load. So it seems like the problem is just with the >SOAP response / with netBeans.
I understand that returning XML within a SOAP container could then be screwing up the parsing. Any thoughts as to why certain words and not others? Is there any way to fix this, and perhaps more importantly - is it important to fix this?Did you test this in a production like environment? If so, i would say its just a minor annoyance.

• How to connect to external web service and convert XML to a table

Hi experts,
I need to connect to external/non-SAP web service and convert XML in that site to a SAP table?
Is there a function call(SE37) to do this? Is it a must for me to install AS JAVA or PI and configure enterprise service? Please provide a link for me to retrieve relevant infomation, thx.

No, you don't need PI or the Java stack for this. You can create an ABAP proxy using the WSDL file for the web service and call the web service using the proxy class in an ABAP program. You can transform the XML response to internal tables/structures/variables using a transformation template that you create.

• Web service and servlets in the same project...web.xml?

Hello, I have a problem with my web service.
I have a server, which displays a web service. I programmed this service with JAXRPC.
I have a client, in another directory. I succeded in compiling, deploying and running the web service.
The problem is that after I tried to integrate this service in an existing project. This project contains servlets. In these servlets, I'm using sessions.
These servlets are on the same side as the server of the web service. Because of the implementation of my code, I'd like to use in the class that represents the server of the service, the same session as the one I'm using in the servlets.
But of course, it's not working by itself. I know there's something to do with the web.xml files.
The thing is that I created a web.xml file for the service, and another for the servlets.
I was thinking of joining both of them in one xml file, but everything crashes then...
Could someone tell me how to create a project with a web service and servlets, and mostly how to configure the xml file??
Thanks for any help

• Forms 10g, OAS and Web Services.... help!

Hello,
We're in the middle of a project that was originally supposed to be a (simple :D) upgrade of an existing Forms 6i application to a Forms 10g application.
During the course of the project we have encountered various problems with the older forms (shakes fist at Headstart code...) and as a side effect have had to upgrade our OAS to 10.1.2.0 (10gR2). That's fine, however we have recently been looking into replacing the C++ code that the old application uses to connect to SAP with a new Web Services system, using the SAP Adapter and WSDLs and BPEL and all the rest of it (steep learning curve).
In setting that up it seems it would be advisable for us to upgrade to 10.1.3.x (or "get a headache" said Oracle Support...) However, I now read (in an article from July last year) that Forms and Reports are not supported in 10.1.3.x...
So, do we ask our DBAs to go ahead and install the SOA suite 10.1.3.x? And if so, do I need to do something else to support our !0gR2 forms? Or will they just work? Can we do a "clean" install of 10.1.3.x or do we upgrade the existing 10.1.2.0 system....? Colour me confused.
Help!
Thanks in advance
Dan

You are correct, Forms 10gR2 is the latest and is not available on the 10.1.3 stack. I am also not sure if you are talking about writing web services or just consuming them. However you have 2 main options.
you can install 10.1.2 and use 10.1.2 for Forms and use 10.1.2 for your web services - this should work ok but of course you are "handicapped" by only being able to use 10.1.2 features of BPEL and WS.
Next option, you can install 10.1.2 for running Forms and run a separate 10.1.3 for running BPEL and SOA suite - nothing wrong with that. And if you write a web service and deploy to 10.1.3 you can call that from Forms.
Example of calling an external web service from Forms

http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/forms_modernization.html - calling a BPEL process is just like calling a web services

• Bad XML from external web service and would like to change the content

I am getting a bad XML(not valid) from external web service and I would like to change the content of the body in OSB proxy service to make it valid.
For example
<g:Information xsi:schemaLocation="http:// bad schema" xmlns:g="http://abc.com/t.xsd">
<test>Test Data</test>
</g:Information>
should become
<g:Information xmlns:g="http://abc.com/t.xsd">
<test>Test Data</test>
</g:Information>
Do you how can I do this?

I don't think it would be the best solution but you may try -
1. Conver the incoming XML to string using fn-bea:serialize() function
2. Replace the not-required content with a blank
3. Covert the string back to XML using fn-bea:inlinedXML
If you find any other solution, please let us know.

• How to trigger web service automatically when xml file generated at static

Hi Experts,

I need to setup like whenever new xml file generated on static location (eg:E:\xml_files) generated web service should trigger automatically.
My requirement:
1) XML FIle content: have 3 tags with nultiple records.
2) Configured Weblogic Apploication server on JDev 11g
3) Developed Java code to read XML content and store it in Oracle Database.
4) created web service and called java class.
above 4 points, which I did already.
I appreciate if any one help me out, when ever new file created on static location, web service should triggered automatically and stored the data in to data oracle DB.

Hope you are looking for a SOA Suite/OSB solution for this.
If SOA Suite - You can configure a JCA File Read adapter to read off the XML file and then use a mediator/composite to invoke your WS.
If OSB - You can configure a File read transport or a JCA Adapter to read off the XML file and then use a route node/service callout to invoke your WS.

Within the eXist dbms, I'm writing a module which implements several extensions to XPath. These extensions must invoke a remote web-service.

help me to fix this issue. thanks

Hi Mou,
I just tried your win app code about calling web service, but failed. I got the 500 error after I called your service:
The error message I quoted from Fiddler:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"><soap:Body><soap:Fault><faultcode>soap:Client</faultcode><faultstring>System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Failed : Invalid credentials ---> System.Exception: Invalid credentials

I am not totally sure that error occurred by the authentication. But I suggest you can try to add this service into your project using this method below:
1.right click the Reference and select Add Service Reference
2.input your service link and click "Go"
And you can use this service as the following:
private async void callService()
ServiceReference1.SearchDataIndexSoapClient client =new ServiceReference1.SearchDataIndexSoapClient();
var Str= await client.StartIndexAsync(new ServiceReference1.AuthHeader { Username = "Admin", Password = "Admin" });
Please try it.

• SQL Server 2008 Reporting Project - Invoke/Consume Web Service and Return Dataset in C# Code-Behind

Hello,
I have a Visual Studio 2010 C# class with a method that invokes/consumes a web service and returns an XML dataset. I am traversing through the parent/child nodes and parsing out the data then inserting it into a SQL Server 2008 R2 table for a join within
another stored procedure.
Instead of using a 3rd party API to generate the PDF for this data, I am creating an SSRS report. The formatting will be easier and I can do a RenderFormat directly to PDF.
Can I expect to be able to transfer the code-behind method to this report and have it be able to work with the web service the same way? It is a SOAP-based web service returning parent nodes and two levels of nested child nodes.
I have also been researching the approach of calling the web service in the same stored procedure that is currently querying the physical tables (which is used to populate a gridview and PDF) but it looks like it may only be possible with a CLR stored procedure.
Is it possible to implement a CLR stored procedure within an SSRS report?
Hope this makes sense. Any help, suggestion or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Buster

Hi Buster,
SSRS supports web service data source, we can call the SOAP-based web service in SSRS report directly. Then, we can use custom code in SSRS to parse the XML data. However, we won’t be able to join another data in SQL Server database.
Reference:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964129(v=sql.90).aspx#repservxmlds_topic3
We cannot implement a CLR stored procedure within an SSRS report directly. In order to execute the CLR store procedure in a SSRS report, we have to execute it as text using the following code:
Exec <stored procedure name>
Reference:
http://dotnetslackers.com/Community/blogs/bmains/archive/2009/01/15/executing-a-clr-stored-procedure-in-reporting-services.aspx
Hope this helps.

• Configuring Web Services for Oracle XML DB

Hi all...
I think I need some help one this subject....
We have a 10G Release 2 Oracle single instance ( not RAC) install on a Linux Redhat v5.3 64 bit server. Are developers are user Visual Studio .Net and wnat to send xml files to a web service so that the xml file (containing data) can call a PL/SQL package (to be written) which will take the data out of the xml input file and insert rows into a prefined table within the instance. Now they have browsed the web and have come upon the following links...
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28369/xdb_web_services.htm
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28369/xdb22pro.htm#i1026724
Currently, within the database I looked at the schema XDB and have unlocked the account and connected as the user XDB. There are some 680 objects in the following groups...
SQL> select object_type, count(*) from dba_objects where owner='XDB' group by object_type;
OBJECT_TYPE COUNT(*)

INDEX 51
FUNCTION 5
INDEXTYPE 2

16 rows selected.
Now in the links above it mentions that the xdbconfig.xml needs to be altered etc. However, I have searched the entire $ORACLE_HOME and there is no file definition of that description.
From a DBA prospective...what do I have to install on the Linux server? I assume from the Oracle Database 10g Companion Products I need to lay down Oracle HTTP Server in a new Oracle home as the first step...or not? Does the HTML DB need to be installed as well?
And for Configuring Web Services for Oracle XML DB...what else has to be installed? And from what product line?
Thanks in Advance....

Hi Marco...
First of all ...thanks for the reply.
I followed the link and the infor in that web page. However, there were a few things that did not work....

The other browser test ftp://localhost:2100/
did not find any page?
2. Then I went onto running (as the sysdba) the pl/sql to enable the ORAWSV Entry Service
however it error out. So I did a describe on DBMS_XDB and the function deleteServlet does not appear
then I had a look and this link to > http://www.liberidu.com/blog/?p=471
was for 11G and the other link > http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28369.pdf
was for 11G.
However, we are on 10G

• Java 6 web services and Tomcat?

I recently installed Java SE 6 and want to know how to use the web services that come with it with Tomcat 5.5.
Searching the internet yields no answers.
Specifically, I need to know what needs to go into the web.xml file to publish the web service, whether another xml file is needed, whether Tomcat should have any jars added to its internal directories, etc.
I realize that some of these questions are Tomcat-specific, and I plan to post on a Tomcat-related forum as well, but these are all Java SE 6 -related questions, so I'm hoping that posting here should yield some answers too.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for your reply.
I found how to do this, though it took a lot of searching.
I'm including the info in this post in case it can help anyone in the future.
This info was found on: http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=51&t=004355 and is copied almost verbatim below.
The steps are:
Download and unpack the jax-ws (use https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/jax-ws-20-fcs/)
Copy all *.jar from the lib dir into $CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib
Create a directoy for the service under $CATALINA_HOME/webapps
Copy the class structure from the web service into WEB-INF/classes in that directory
Create a sun-jaxws.xml in WEB-INF
Create web.xml in WEB-INF
Start tomcat. Done
The web.xml should look something like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_3.dtd">
<web-app>
<listener>
<listener-class>com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.servlet.WSServletContextListener
</listener-class>
</listener>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>HelloService</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.servlet.WSServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>HelloService</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/hello</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
<session-config>
<session-timeout>60</session-timeout>
</session-config>
</web-app>The sun-jaxws.xml can look like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<endpoints xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jax-ws/ri/runtime" version="2.0">
<endpoint  name="HelloService"        implementation="com.techyatra.hellows.HelloServer" url-pattern="/hello" />
</endpoints>After starting tomcat you can access the service under
http://localhost:8080/HelloService/helloHope this helps someone.

• Problem with MDM web services and webdynpro

Hi MDMguru,
I have created web services from SDN example: it reads the MDM version.
If I use J2ee Navigator Web Services and I try mywebservices, it works very well.
I have created a webdynpro (from this SDN Example https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webdynpro/creating%20an%20email-client%20using%20web%20dynpro%20and%20web%20services.pdf).
I have followed step by step the example.
But when run webdynpro and it calls my webservices it not works because it throws this exception:
javax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException: Exception in method getVersion. , Debug ,  , com.enel.sap.ws.component.WSComponent.VersionMDM , sap.com/tcwddispwda , J2EE_GUEST
Can someone help me?

It appears that %ROWTPYE is not supported directly, and that we need to create a TYPE to wrap the return data
Thanks to Marc Thompson for the details (http://marc-on-oracle.blogspot.co.uk/2007/12/11g-database-installation-and-native.html)
