Data Type  Binary Missing on ODI  for 101.3.4 for SYBASE IQ 12.5

Hi All.
Under Topology - Physical Architecture - Sybase IQ - there isn't datatype "binary".
Any workaround ? I have to use this datatype because it is in many tables and it used for important data...
Marco

The workaround is to create this datatype.
ODI provides technologies, but these technologies could but updated as you want.
just one thing, don't forget the conversion between SYBASE IQ and other technologies

  • Which data type is good to store  amount of money booth for derby and Acces

    hi,
I am developing an application that concern with problems of accounting.
I decided to use derby how database, as well in the while I am developing it, I prefer use Microsoft access, ...because I can easilier check the result of the elaboration using visual tools ..
I looked, for this reason, what type of data I could use that is both in Access and in derby, to store amount of money; and I thought the double type could be good for this purpose. As well I know that at the end of the develop to change to databese derby, I'll have to modify a some part of the code I wrote.
Now I should like know the opinion of someone that have more experience than I have, if my idea is right, and if the final work to change database can be not so hard.
If my idea is wrong, I should like to know what is a better idea to develop with Microsoft access and after distribuite the application with derby.
    Thank you very much

A double will work for the value. You'll just have to be careful about things like rounding rules.
What about currency type? USD, euro? Do you ever need to keep track of that, too? Are conversions important to your app?

  • Clarification on Account grouping -OMWN for 101 movement type

    Hi SAP MM gurus,
In OMWN - Account grouping , I am not able to find any entry for 101 (Goods receipt for Purchase order B and with no consumption posting ) with Value and Quantity updates . There are entries for 101 movement type with special stock indicator but not able to find any entry for standard good receipt for Purchase orders ( No Special stock Indicator , Value and Quantity update checked , Movement type indicator B and No Consumption posting ). There are no issues with the accounting posting for goods receipt with standard purchase order with BSX being debited and WRX being credited. I am trying to understand the logic for this posting and I am not able to understand from where (customization settings) this posting is derived from. May I request your valuable inputs in understanding this logic.
Thanks in advance for your immediate response.
    with regards,
    Anandj

    Hi there,
Not sure where you want to go... but here is a tip
Would it make sense to have value and qty update and no consumption ? it can either one or the other but not both.
Now in prg there are further checks that makes other option possible like a GR for PO that is not valuated.
Remember that these key determination behind the account grp / TE key is a kind of black box where the prg is hardcoded to sort out what keys to take.
    I hope this helps... Cheers

  • What is Abstract Data type ?

Shall i call a class to be an Abstract data type ?

    jverd wrote:
I do not agree. For one thing, I'd consider classes realizations or implementations of ADTs. That nitpick aside, however, the easiest counterexample is a class with no member variables. The "D" of "ADT" is missing there. I wouldn't consder java.lang.Math and ADT, just a collection of functions and constants.I wouldn't say being implemented in a specific language takes anything away from an ADT. An implemented ADT is also an ADT.
Being an ADT doesn't require the existence of state. This was what you meant with "no member variables" right? ADTs can have or not have state.
Your final counterexample concerns so called free functions and constants (static in Java). They should be viewed as part of an ADT definition. But okay, Math itself cannot be considered an ADT so not every class, interface and enum is an ADT as I claimed. Sometimes they're used as namespaces for free functions and constants that have no natural home. Functions and constants associated with primitives have to go somewhere for example. But this usage is atypical.

  • Passing Session variable of DATE data type to opaque view filter

    Hi Everyone,
Can you guys please help me in passing session variable of DATE data type in RPD's physical layer 'opaque view' filter for Oracle database
I tried following syntax, syntax wise I didn't got getting any error, but at the same time this opaque view is not fetching any records as well. my session variable is "END_DATE" and its value is 1998/12/31:00:00:00(as shown in RPD session windows, datatype is DATETIME)
    SELECT AMOUNT_SOLD, CHANNEL_ID, CUST_ID, PROD_ID, PROMO_ID, QUANTITY_SOLD, TIME_ID FROM SH.SALES
    WHERE TIME_ID =TO_DATE( 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.END_DATE)','MM/DD/YYYY')
    SELECT AMOUNT_SOLD, CHANNEL_ID, CUST_ID, PROD_ID, PROMO_ID, QUANTITY_SOLD, TIME_ID FROM SH.SALES
    WHERE TIME_ID = TO_DATE( 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."END_DATE")','MM/DD/YYYY')
    SELECT AMOUNT_SOLD, CHANNEL_ID, CUST_ID, PROD_ID, PROMO_ID, QUANTITY_SOLD, TIME_ID FROM SH.SALES
    WHERE TRUNC(TIME_ID) = TO_DATE( 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."END_DATE")','MM/DD/YYYY')
In past, I was able to pass a session variable into a opaque view filter using DATEOF function, but that was in DB2.
I appreciate your time and help

Finally, I got right format. here it is
    to_date(substr('valueof(NQ_SESSION.END_DATE)',1,10), 'yyyy-mm-dd')
and here is the source from where I got this information

  • How do you determine a column's data type?

Let's say I have a DB Table out there and I have NO WAY of knowing that column 1 is a CHAR, column 2 is a SMALLINT or whatever. I can write sql to select * from table and see everything, but how do I know what each column's data type is?

I found it. Thanks, and for any other people who need the solution, here is what I found on another thread:

  • How to read a file with value of RAW data type? Please help

    Hi Experts,
I  have a file with RAW data like DE864E48833BFFF1B805001CC4EF4BFA
       I am using GUI_UPLOAD.
But this FM is throwing error.
I tried by giving FILETYPE as ASC. The output internal table for this FM contains a field of type c size 32.
Now it is able to read the file but I want to assign this value to a RAW data type variable.
This it is unable to do. How to convert the char value to RAW data type?
    Please help!
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi,
The documentation for the function module contains an example for RAW upload.
                begin of itab,
                      raw(255) type x,
                end of itab occurs 0.
               CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'
               exporting
                  filetype =  'BIN'
                  filename = 'C:\DOWNLOAD.BIN'
               tables
                 data_tab = itab.

  • How to access PL/SQL data types through JDBC

    Hi,
We have stored procedures written in PL/SQL. These stored procs take both IN and OUT parameters. The parameter types are both regular datatypes like NUMBER, VARCHAR etc. So far so good. I know how to handle these data types.
Some of the stored procs also use parameters that are defined as composite data types like %ROWTYPE or %RECORD. How would I set the values of these data types? Can I use the oracle extension - support for Oracle Objects to accomplish this. If so please let me know with an example. If not any other suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Karthik
    null

JDBC (and SQLJ) only support SQL types as stored procedure arguments, not PL/SQL types.
If your stored procedure uses a PL/SQL-only type, such as BOOLEAN, record types, or index-by tables, then you cannot call it from Java (or, for that matter, from other languages as well).
There is one exception: scalar index-by table arguments have been supported since JDBC 8.1.7 in the JDBC-OCI driver (refer to the JDBC manual for specifics).
One workaround is to create wrapper PL/SQL stored procedures that take SQL arguments and convert them to PL/SQL -and vice versa- and call the original PL/SQL stored procedures. For example, a record type could be exploded into individual arguments, or it could be converted into a SQL object type, index-by tables could be represented as SQL collection types, etc.
You can find a small example of this in the back of the JPublisher manual, where an example is given how to call a PL/SQL stored procedure that takes BOOLEAN arguments.

  • Function module to convert character type to required data type

    Hi,
Is there a function module which can convert data in character type to any other required data type?
Like i have a date 12.2.2008 and it is stored as character now i want to convert it into type d.
    so that when i use
    Describe field <field_name> type <type>.
statement afterwards then it gives me  D not C as its data type.
The requirement does'nt stick to conversion of just one data type.I need an FM which can convert data in character type to any data type.
    Hope you understood the problem.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
    Use the code.

  • Creating Custom fields (data type QUAN) using EEWB

    Hi all
I tried to create two customised fields using EEWB for CRM Opportunity:
    1. Projected Volume (data type 'QUAN', length 13, 3 decimal places)
    2. Projected Unit (data type 'UNIT')
In the SAP-generated tables, I have set the reference table field for 'Projected Volume' to point to 'Projected Unit'. However, I encountered errors that is related to Table Buffering and Restricted Transport for the Projected Volume field.
If I were to change the data type to 'NUMC', field generation is ok. Does anyone know to resolve this issue? I need the Projected Volume field to be of data type 'QUAN' since decimal place is required.
    Thanks for your advice!

SAP Note 746227 has addressed this issue. I will close this question.

  • ABAP in SapScript : syntax, data types, ... ?

    Hello,
Can someone tell me what are the biggest differences between regular ABAP and ABAP in SapScript? Like syntax rules, possible data types, and so on.
    Thanks!

    Ok, thanks for the answers.
    Just one more question
Is it then also possible to create a SmartForm form (or Adobe Form) from within SapScript? I am looking for a workaround solution for correspondence in Training and Event Management. Only SapScript forms are possible, but if it is possible to create other forms with ABAP code in the SapScript, it could work, I think?

  • Data_length of number data type

when I checked for the columns with data type as number in dba_tab_cols it is showing 22 for all the columns irrespective of the precision and scale. why is it so?
also can you tell what data length exactly means?
    Edited by: user12288160 on May 19, 2010 3:04 AM

    Hi tom,
I am doing database sizeing. I am expecting that one of my table will have 50,000,000 records in
future(say within 6 month). That table has composite primary key(5 columns). All the columns are
NUMBER data type. In All_tab_column I could see the data length is always 22. So I tried to
decrease the length( Number(10)). Then also its saying data length is 22. But I Know that I can't
enter data in this field more than 10 digits. So In this case it should be 12. But why its showing
    22(Data_length field in All_tab_columns).
My question is, for my sizeing calculation, should I take this length 12 or 22?.
    Thanks

that is the max length -- numbers are stored as varying length character strings.
