Web services  doubt

hello
i want to be update the database every day with out client side application(like automatically update the database only once for a day),can i use 'Web Services' tech for that,or any alternative ,if it please let me know what it is.

Hi Ricardo,
>>>I don’t have sure what I need to do to configure a scenario like that. Tell me if I’m correct: First I need to create an outbound interface to connect Portal via web services to XI, with a soap adapter?
yes that's what you have to do:
1. create an outbound interface
2. publish a web service based on this interface (sender SOAP adapter)
>>>In the web logs that I’m read, (/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/09/03/invoke-webservices-using-sapxi) I need to download wsdl files… but who make these wsdl files? I need to make it before configure my soap adapter?
you need to download wsld file if you want to call
a web service <b>from</b> XI, since you only want to do Portal -> xi and not XI -> web service then you <b>don't</b> need any
wsld files
>>>but who make these wsdl files?
you will, once you'll define your web service
on the XI - your Portal iview will use this file

  • Web Services - WSDL doubt.

    Hi all,
I’m sorry to repeat this subject again, but I continue with some doubts…
I read almost SDN web logs about web services. All they teach, how to configure and develop a simple web services… but the steps to create a web service connection between XI, continues a little bit confused to me…
To clarify my objective, look at this scenario: With an iview with an upload form, I want to upload an xml file to XI trough web service (soap adapter). NW Portal <-> (web services) <-> XI.
I don’t have sure what I need to do to configure a scenario like that. Tell me if I’m correct: First I need to create an outbound interface to connect Portal via web services to XI, with a soap adapter?

I don’t understand what is the propose of wsdl files and what is used for!!! I never worked with web services… I’m come from ABAP programming and I’m trying to do the first steps in web technologies. So, I’m sorry if said some mistakes…
Please, can anybody clarify my doubts? Documentation to help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

  • Doubts developing web services on JDev 10.1.3.0.4

    Hi,
I was trying to follow this guide
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/webcolumns/2003/techarticles/balusamy.html
in order to develop this web service on Jdev 10.1.3.0.4.
But the menus are different from the version used on the tutorial. I´m having some difficulties with the selections that i have to make in the menus. Also, after trying several options, the files generated are different from the ones that appear on this tutorial.
Does anyone know how to reproduce this tutorial on this version of jdev ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The guide you were refering was pointing to 10.1.2 wizards.
For the latest 10.1.3 tutorial, please follow the below tutorial link :

    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
Could not diagonise from this stack trace alone. But what doubt is that there is something wrong with cardinality in your web service. Otherwise something may have gone wrong like you mishandling a list or some mismatch like that.

  • How to make my Portal Web Service SECURED?

    Hi Experts,
I created one portal Service and exposed it as Portal Web Service.
Everything is working fine, as i deployed my Portal Web Service on to the SAP J2EE Engine ie SAP Server.
I m able to access functions of Web Service from my StandAlone Java Application.
but the problem is my Web Service is not SECURED.
How can i make my Portal Web Service SECURED?
    Please help me out.
Help will be appreciated and rewarded!!!!!

I have an old pl/sql "helper" package, originally written to make SOAP Web Service calls from the database - it uses UTL_HTTP to invoke the target services.
I now need to make SOAP Web Service calls - from an 8.1.7.4 database
But the version of UTL_HTTP inside 8.1.7.4 does not contain the functions needed in the helper package
Can anybody suggest a means of making SOAP Web Service calls from an 8.1.7.4 database ?I think you'll be very lucky to find anyone here who still has access to a version of Oracle that is that old.... I mean... that's like what? 15 years old at least? I'm surprised you've still got hardware that can run that.
It would probably help if you could post what code you've got and explain which function(s) it's complaining about, as I doubt people will want to guess.

  • Issue with SSL in web service.

    Hi All,
We are having synchronous web service to proxy scenario in XI. We are trying to send a binary data using the SOAP web service to SAP via XI. Initially, we were posting large binary data using HTTP connection via XI from the SOAP client. The scenario was working without any issues.
Since the data is sensitive changed the web service from HTTP to HTTPS.The interface works without issues when we test it using the SOAP client for testing. When the data is sent using the Dot Net application (the end application) using the same webservice, URL (HTTPS connection) the message errors out. The connection is borken and the message fails. In this scenario, XI does not even receive the message which I can make out looking into the SOAP adapter communication channel.
The interesting fact here is the same  Dot Net application is able to connect and send smaller binary data using HTTPS connection.
Could you please let us know if this could be the issue with HTTPS connection on XI side? I doubt it to be an issue on XI side because the adapter does not even receive any message when the scenario fails. But we used some HTTPS monitoring tools and found that the Dot Net Application receives some encrypted response from the server which the application is not able to decrypt and the handshake breaks.
Could you please throw some inputs into this issue.
    Thanks,
    Manohar.

  • Web Service Access to a extension field

    Hello All:
Scoping against solution capability, how easy, or at all possible, is to access a extension fields to a native ByD business Objects via web services? In my specific case, the E-Commerce Sales Order Creation Web Service.
But the question is pretty general, This can be a data retrieve web services as well? Any limitations? does it needed to be rebuild by SAP? or can we generate them by ourselves?
Also, if in future new extension required on web services, can this process be done after implementation and go live? Without too much trouble?
Any documentation will be greatly appreciated! Thank You!

This is doubtful as it is a Standard service (we use it for several different solutions).. and is the same across all tenants and I do not think it can be applied as a custom one off..
asking your dev coach would probally be your best bet.
Another solution for you would be to have a simple Read,Update Service you write that just deals with your extension fields... so after an order is created you can update your field on the sales order, or read the value given a specific sales order.
Unless this has changed it is my understanding that you have to add the Extension field via the Development studio not the Key user tools if you wish to have access to it in the Studio for releasing a webservice like I described above.(Most my work so far has involved integrations and the standard  webservices)

  • Issue while adding WCF Web Service reference using Oracle APEX

    Hi,
We have an issue with creating the Web Service Reference for the WCF web service:
    http://dev.virtualearth.net/webservices/v1/metadata/geocodeservice/GeocodeService1.wsdl
The APEX gives the following error
“The WSDL document could not be understood by the rendering engine. Click Create Web Service Reference Manually to continue creating a reference for this service.”
Can you please tell me if creating the Web Service Reference for WCF is supported on the “out of the box“ APEX?
    Environment information:
    APEX 4.0.2.00.07
    Database 11.2.0.3
Please note that we have tried it in APEX 4.1.1 from apex.oracle.com and the error there is different, it can connect even to ASMX wsdl.
    Thank you.

I don't think that is it specific to just .NET web services. I have tried with a web service created with TIBCO BusinessWorks (Middleware product) that did not work either. The wsdl validated correctly in soapUI, so I think it just must be the implementation of the parser which is looking for some specific format.
When in doubt, go with either the manual reference or with pl/sql using one of the api's.

  • BAD_CERTIFICATE error calling a web service over SSL in ALSB 2.6

We have a business service on an ALSB 2.6 server (running on WL 9.2.1) that connects to a web service over SSL. When we try to run it, we get the following exception:

This exception only occurs when hitting the web service through the bus. I have written a standalone Java application that posts to the web service and it works fine. I ran the application on the server where the ALSB is running using the same jdk (1.5.0_06 - the version that ships with 9.2.1) and the same cacerts file so I know it's not a problem with the certificate not being trusted. I have tried updating the cacerts file to the latest one distributed with JRE 1.6 and it still doesn't work.
After 8 hours of troubleshooting, I'm out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestiosn?
    Thanks.

    Edited by: user6946981 on Sep 17, 2009 7:58 AM

Are you sure that your standalone application is using the same keystore (eg. cacert)? Default WebLogic configuration uses different keystore (demo).
I saw BAD_CERTIFICATE error only once and the cause was in keytool that somehow corrupted certificate during import. Deleting and importing certificate again helped me, but I doubt you have the same problem as your standalone application works.
Another idea ... Is hostname varification used? I know that the error message would look different if this was the cause, but try to add this parameter to your weblogic startup script: -Dweblogic.security.SSL.ignoreHostnameVerification=true
Last but not least, there is difference between your standalone application and ALSB runtime as WebLogic uses Certicom SSL provider. If you don't find the reason, contact Oracle support. Maybe they can help you to tweak Certicom provider in some way.

  • Calling a Web Service from OPM ODS

    Greetings,
Is it possible to call a web service directly from OPM (version 10.4) using Determinations Server or do we need BPM or BPEL to be involved. We are trying to transition to Weblogic 11g Fusion SOA environment using OPA for rules.
    Thanks

    Hi Davin,
I have managed to deployed the determinations-server.war with the rulebase to WLS. I am also able to create a web service proxy to send request to ODS and get the response returned. However, my doubt now is I do not know how to consume it in BPM. In my BPM process flow, I tried creating a web service call to ODS but it did not work, as in the flow runs and completed with success but there were no response returned from ODS due its complex type which couldn't be mapped directly to the data object type created in BPM.
I am wondering if there is any samples or tutorials available which will guide me in understanding this topic better. Any help is much appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance!

  • Security Error when trying to access web service

I have an app that connects over HTTPS to a web service on
our internal network. The interface to the web service was created
by using the WSDL Import function of the Flex IDE.
I can run the app and retrieve data without a problem when I
run from the debug-bin folder that the Flex IDE compiles to.
However, I cannot connect to the web service from anywhere else,
such as a different location on my own local drives, a network
    drive, or another persons machine.
I've setup a local instance of Apache with mod_ssl so I could
host the app under an HTTPS connection itself, which the
documentation seemed to imply that would work. However, when I run
    the app, I get:
    [FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="Security error
    accessing url" faultCode="Channel.Security.Error"
    faultDetail="Destination: DefaultHTTPS"] messageId=null
    type="fault" bubbles=true cancelable=true eventPhase=2]
I am accessing the app by going to
    https://mymachine.companydomain.com/myapp.html, and the web service
    is being accessed through https://webservice.companydomain.com/.
Anybody have any thoughts on what I should be looking at?
I've been searching and trying things for a few days with no luck.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The SSL handshake works differently to a browser as it is making the connections automatically.
The browser asks every time if you want to trust an expired certificate, and it also recommends not to. Its impractical to manually check every service call to say do you trust the certificate so the functionality doesn't exist. I doubt any integration product does this. Therefore there isn't a option to ignore the certificate if it has expired.
This makes sence as the certificate is untrustworthy. The whole idea around SSL is trusting the site you are communicating with, all parties need to be trusted. This stops hackers from replicating their site and intercepting data.
If the administrator of the remote site is not willing to renew the certificate, are they really interested in SSL. I suggest they expose a non SSL service.
    cheers
    James

  • How to configure CA for access to a Web Service from an app deployed in WL

    Hi everyone.
I have an app deployed in a WLS (10.3). This app acts like a web service client and works correctly (spring + cxf). I'm the app's developer and I don't have experience in this subjects. Is the wl misconfigured? Should I do something from the app to reference the keystore?
    Thanks un advance.
    Sorry for my english.

Hi user10939158, thank you for your response. Maybe I was not precise in my previous post. I know how certificates work and that I should not be using self signed ones. Due to a reason (non technical) we MUST use a self signed certificates. Considering this as a prerequisite let me clarify my situation:
    - We added the certificate to the custom trust store connfigured in WL
    - We configure the managed server to be more "verbose" about SSL stuff
    - When the managed server start it outputs the following lines in the log:
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:31:21 PM ARST> <Notice> <Security> <BEA-090169> <Loading trusted certificates from the JKS keystore file /wldomains/desa_domain/TrustCTWebservices.jks.>
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:31:21 PM ARST> <Debug> <SecuritySSL> <BEA-000000> <SSLContextManager: loaded 1 trusted CAs from /wldomains/desa_domain/TrustCTWebservices.jks>
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:31:21 PM ARST> <Debug> <SecuritySSL> <BEA-000000> <Subject: CN=jserver, OU=SWG, O=IBM, C=US; Issuer: CN=jserver, OU=SWG, O=IBM, C=US>
    - In this lines we can see the certificate that interests us (jserver)
    - When the app do a WS reqeust we see in the log:
    <Dec 13, 2010 5:32:43 PM ARST> <Notice> <Stdout> <BEA-000000> <trustStore is: /opt/bea/jrockit_160_05/jre/lib/security/cacerts> (THE VM's DEFAULT KEYSTORE!!!!!!)
    - If we add the cert to /opt/bea/jrockit_160_05/jre/lib/security/cacerts everything works ok but I have doubts that this is right.
Why the default keystore is used?
    Thank you very much

Please guide me in doing that.
    Thanks,
    Farrukh

    Farrukh,
I don't know if your error is about a missing class from your custom package, ... what track did you followed to say that?
To use your package in the implementation of you web service, you should only follow the rules of making a web application: put your package jar in your \lib directory inside WEB-INF/ or your package classes unjared in classes (also in WEB-INF/).
As I already said, I have doubts that your error should be originated from a missing class from your package, but:
-try to see the logs (errors?) when you deploy your web service that could give a hint about the problem.
-try to see if you can access your endpoint through your browser to see if there is a online status
-display your config/WSDL file, and the steps you did to build your web service.
    regards,
    Pedro Salazar.
