Web Services, is SAML supported?

SAML Token Profile is supported in WebLogic Web Services and
we would like to take advantage of it for SSO. Besides inserting
SAML assertions into SOAP header manually, is there any help
offered in Flex? For our use scenarios, check out the following
topic "SAML Token Profile Support in WebLogic Web Services" using
the following URL:

Thanks,
Stanley

UPDATE: Some issues were encountered during the deployment phase of CRES 4.0. These issues required us to perform a rollback to the previous version. Currently this upgrade is scheduled to take place Saturday November 12th.

    Thank's Shay. I'm thinking that the problem is about NWDS for this reason: at the moment i am testing a standard web service present on WAS( http://serverWAS:53000/IciUserService/IciUserConf?wsdl)that with a method ( getAttributes) that return an array of classes on VC and this test is ok.
    So i'm creating an similar web service that return array of classes with my NWDS (vers. 7.0.7..) and wizard but on VC it's don't supported.
    The SOAP Response of standard web service and my web service, have different structure. I'm thinking that the problem is NWDS because the SOAP response is function of the WSDL generated by Wizard on NWDS.
    Thank's in advance.

  • Can any one provide an web service technique that supports http post...?

    hi,
    i'm working with servlets. i need a webservice technique that supports http-post.
    is it possible to work http-post using servlet & axis2 webservice....?

    hi, if you are about to use axis2, consider trying JAXWS since its very fast to startup, it will then take care of everything what is beyond your business objects (so transforming in into XML etc) moreover, you're going to use web services, thus you ll be working with SOAP, which will wrap your business representation...
    here a sample for a time -service. The Date object will automatically be trasinformed into appropriate xsd type by the axis2 engine
    @WebService
    public class Clock {
    public Date getCurrentTime(){
      return new Date();
    }

  • Problem in External Debugging for the Web service if SAML is Configured

    Hi All,
       I am facing a problem .  I will tell you the exact process :
    1. I have provided a external breakpoint in the ERP  system.
    2 . SAML is configured on both Consumer as well as Provider side.
    3. try to execute the process Remotely, I am not getting breakpoint in the ERP system
      If I remove the SAML and Provide basic Authentication, i am able to get. it seems there is some configuration parameter which are missing in the SAML Configuration.
    Please advice how to check for the same.
    Regards,
    Kapil.

    Hi Kapil,
    I think the request is falling over with SAML authentication issues between the consumer & provider & that's why it's not triggering the breakpoint. I would first try tracing the request when it reaches the SOAP runtime of the provider using SAP Note 1254821. See the section towards the bottom under 'Error Analysis'.

  • Invoking a AXIS Web Service with a Java object as input argument

    Hi
    I've been trying to execute a bpel process that invokes a web service deployed through axis.
    This web service takes a java object as input argument as opposed to data types that are directly mapped to java types through the SOAP engine.
    I deployed and tested the service outside of BPEL using a test client class. Everything works well.
    When I try to configure the "Assign" and "Invoke" activities so that service can be invoked, I cannot see the data structure through the variable picker and I see the following message:
    "The element {urn:ComplexTypeWebService}TimeSheetBean is not know to the schema container. Perhaps a schema file that uses it needs to include or import its definition.There mat also be an XML schema issue (non resolvable schema) which prevents {urn:ComplexTypeWebService}TimeSheetBean from being seen by the schema processor."
    Is there any example that demonstrates how to invoke an axis web service in such scenario? What am I doing wrong?
    Please, let me know.

    The passing of Java objects in and out of a web service is NOT supported. variables must be xml documents defined by a XML schema. In my opinion, missing Java object and WSDL is not a good idea. -Edwin

  • Calling Web Service Proxy with Custom java Object as parameter

    I created a web service proxy from WSDL URL using JDeveloper 11g(.5 version)
    I need to call a webservice method which takes custom Java Object( Ex: ABC.java) as Input parameter. It creates the XSD java (ABC.java) file for that.
    @XmlElementRef(name = "abc", namespace = "http://impl.service.ns.test", type = JAXBElement.class)
    protected JAXBElement<ABC> abc;
    ABC.java has a property of type java.util.Set of a custom Java Object (Set<XYZ.class>)
    It doesn't create xsd file for XYZ.java.
    @XmlElementRef(name = "XYZ", namespace = "http://model.ns.test/xsd", type = JAXBElement.class)
    protected JAXBElement<Set> xyz;
    Please help me.

  • Is it possible to add a user using the RESTful Web Services SDK

    Others have asked before about user management features in the RESTful Web Services SDK.  However I can find no answers or links which provide an answer to the question 'Is it possible to add a user using the BI 4.1 SP2 RESTful Web Services SDK'?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,

    Hi Steve
    Unfortunately, not possible. The BI RESTful can only get "stuff" that is already there. I suppose this would fall under some sort of "Object Creation" API and that is not there. Yet. Rumors abound, but nothing firm. Just as a BTW.; the Business Intelligence platform RESTful Web Service Developer Guide 4.1 is here:

  • How to create asynchronous web services in OSB 11g?

    Hi,
    Using the workbench, when I try to create a web service from an existing WSDL, the workbench automatically uses JAX-WS.
    JAX-WS does not offer support for asynchronous web services, since it supports only HTTP ports (@WLJmsTransport does not work).
    Request your help in resolving this issue. One way is to use JAX-RPC but I do not know how to configure the workbench to use JAX-RPC instead of JAX-WS.
    Thanking you in advance.

  • Web Service posting via SOAP.request - Security settings prevent access...

    I'm trying to call a web service via the SOAP.request object in javascript embedded into my Interactive Form.  I've successfully done this with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 trial version however now I'm having this issue on a production setup.  The PDF generates fine and I can fill out the form and everything.  I checked the properties of both PDF documents (one that works from the trial and one that doesn't from the prod box) and they are the same, expect the one that works is PDF Version 1.6, and the one that doesn't is PDF Version 1.7.
    Here's the client-side error:
    Acrobat EScript Built-in Functions Version 8.0
    Acrobat Annotations / Collaboration Built-in Functions Version 8.0
    Acrobat Annotations / Collaboration Built-in Wizard Functions Version 8.0
    Acrobat Multimedia Version 8.0

    NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.

    Here's the snippet of JavaScript code:
    var response = SOAP.request();
    Here are the security properties of the malfunctioning PDF:

    How do I determine what the culprit is?

    Michael,
    PDF Version 1.6 means Adobe Reader 7.0.x family and PDF version 1.7 means Adobe Reader 8.0.x or 9.0.x if I am not wrong.
    Also if you check LiveCycle Designer Help (Using LiveCycle Designer ES > Working with Data Sources > About data sources > Working with data connections) it clearly says that with LiveCycle Designer 8.0 secured web services are not supported and there are additional security settings for Reader 8.0 onwards, that may be causing the issue.

  • Transactional Web Services?

    Is there any way to ensure that web services are transactional?
    We have a rich client passing soap calls through to an OC4J container. We are certain that session beans are transctional, since if an error occurs in the database, the entire transction is rolled back.
    However, if we pass the soap call through, and somehow a network connection is lost before the client receives the response from the server, we think because the transaction may be updating to the server, and since the client doesn't receive notification, it ends up thinking the transaction failed, and tries to send it again later. (thus failing later with a duplicate key) We're still trying to research this but so far this is what we suspect is happening.
    So my question is, are OC4J web services transactional? Or is a limitation due to the stateless nature of http?

    Jason,
    Currently oc4j web services are not transactional in a sense, that they don't provide any transaction context propagation mechanism between the client and the server, etc. There are different evolving standards in the web service space regarding support for distributed 2pc and long-running transactions, such as WS-Coordination/Transaction. As the standards/protocols mature, oc4j will provide corresponding support for them.
    Cheers,
    -lars
