Web SSO

Hi,
We're using Siebel 8.0.0.2 and are trying to set up Web SSO using a token passed to IIS via a cookie. A ISAPI filter then decodes the cookie and pops out a user Id that gets attached to the header and passed to Siebel.
Looking in bookshelf its not too clear as to what to do next. I would like the user id to then be used to identify the Siebel Id and possible use only one DB user to log onto the database. Is this possible, or do I have to connect to the active directory to pull back the Siebel ID and database login. As it stands I'm getting an error message saying that the anon user password is incorrect. If single signon is false the login works fine.
Thanks in advance

  • Implementing SAPGUI / WebAS SSO on Solaris Platform

    Hi,
    We want to enable Single Sign on on SAPGUI and Web AS using the SNC Functionality available in SAP and we are on the SOLARIS Platform
    Does anyone have a step by step guide for this configuration
    Thanks
    Makarand

    As you will learn from the documents referenced above, you have to use a SAP-certified product from an external partner to implement SNC between SAPGUI and SAP servers on Solaris. To find out about certified SNC solutions, please go to the [SAP Software Solution Partner Catalog|http://sspcatalog.sap.com/catalog/index.jsp] and enter SNC as search term.
    Beside the steps to configure SNC in the SAP application on server and client, there will be additional configuration steps for the 3rd-party tools. The vendors usually provide good documentation on this. If you use SAPcryptolib for SNC between SAP servers, there is an advantage in using a solution compatible with SAPcryptolib, so that the configuration steps are the same.

  • RD Web access SSO - remote desktop doesn't work

    Hi,
    This is my first post in here, and I hope you gays can help me out.
    I am currently experiencing some issues with RD Web SSO not working as I would like it to work.  I have found countless articles and guides describing how to get it to work, but no guide have yet helped me.
    The problem is that when I log in on the web access and open a published application everything works fine I wait 5 sec and the application pups up, but when I try to open "Remote Desktop" then I get a new log in box where I must enter my log in credentials
    again (after entering my credentials everything work great.)
    The problems I am currently facing is produced in a demo environment configured as follows:
    1x DC server (DC01) also the lic server
    2x RDS server (RDS01/02)
    1x RDS Connection broker (RDCM01)   I have created a farm named "farm01.mydomain.com"
    1x RDS Web access server (RDWA01)
    1x RDS Gateway (RDSGW01)
    (All the Servers are installed with Windows server 2008 (R2) SP1, and have the latest update.)
    I am publishing my demo environment on the internet, i have created a domain name for my gateway and my web access and they are both accessible from the web (rdwa.mydomain.com and rdsgw.mydomaim,com). I also have secured everything with an SSL wildcard certificate
    ( my external and intern domain names are the same so I am using one SSl certificate) that is trusted on the web.
    when I  log in on the web access server trough (IE9 or IE8 ) from another network(wan) and I open a published application (calculator), it pop ups in just a few seconds. But when I try to open my Remote desktop I get a login box where I must enter my
    username and password one more time.. after that remote desktop opens and everything works great.
    My laptop is a Windows 7 professional with RDP 7 and IE 9, and is not member of a domain (just a workstation), I have tested it from multiple workstations and networks(Also win 7 and RDP7) but even there I have the same problem.
    Thinks that I have tried tell now:
    I have created a kerberos account as mentioned on
    MSDN
    I have checked my group permissions as mentioned
    here
    And many more blogs and forums
    I have tried multiple settings on RDCM, RDWA, RDSGW and RDS server
    Right now I am out of ideas, and I hope you gays can help me out..
    thanks in advance,
    Pouyan

    Thnx for you advise,
    Did you go into your RemoteApp Deployment settings and change the server name to the farm name "farm01.mydomain.com?"
    Yes
    Also in the Session Broker's RemoteApp and Desktop Connection Properties window change the Connection ID to the farm name as well.
    actually I couldn't find out what to put on the connection ID so I had left it just default, but after changing it to the farm name it still doesn't work
    Did you sign you apps with the cert used on your RDS servers?
    yes, I am using a wildcard ssl certificate to sign all the servers/apps with.
    there is
    something that
    strikes me, when I log on the web access and click on a published application (that is hosted from the same RDS servers) then I get a information box. when I click on the "details" button I see on the bottom "use the following credentials to connect" and my
    domain and username are published there. But when I click on the "Remote desktop" icon and do the same I can't see this information!!
    Also I don't think that its an SSL problem, because after log in again it works perfect without any warning.

  • RD web access 3 passwords to connect

    I am setting up a new remote desktop access gateway to allow users to connect to their local desktops. I have it working but it requires 3 logins to connect. 1 for the web access, 2. for the RD gateway and then to the PC. Is there a way to streamline that
    down to one or two password prompts?
    -Ben

    Hi Ben,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Initially suggest you to update RDP 8.1 which will work better for this scenario.
    Yes, there is a way to reduce the number of password prompt, here you need to enable RD Web Access Single Sign-On (SSO), where the password will be saved and need to enter the credential for single time.
    There are certain requirements for this feature, as follow.
    • To take advantage of the new Web SSO feature, the client must be running Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) 7.0.
    • In order for Web SSO to work:
    1. The connection in RemoteApp and Desktop Connections must have an ID. By default, it is set to the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the RD Connection Broker server in case of RD Connection Broker mode. In RD Session mode, it is set to the FQDN of the
    RD Web Access server.
    2. RemoteApp programs must be digitally signed using a Server Authentication certificate [Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate]. The certificate Enhanced Key Usage section must contain ‘Server Authentication (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1)’. More details about the types
    of certificates used to digitally sign RemoteApp programs can be found here.
    3. Client operating systems must trust the certificate with which the RemoteApp programs are signed.

  • 2012 R2 RDS SSO with IE 8

    Hi,
    I am having some trouble getting SSO working on a thin client using IE 8, connecting to a 2012 R2 deployment via the RDWeb web access page.
    My scenario is thus:
    Connection broker with 2 session collections
    Gateway server for both internal and external access/policies
    Web access server to get a list of available collections/remote apps
    Deployment options are set to "Use credentials for remote computers"
    Thin clients running Windows embedded standard 09 with IE 8 and RDP version 6.1, supporting protocol 7.0
    What I have found, is that when I use a thin client running windows embedded standard 7 with IE 10, I am able to login to the RDWeb page, and the credentials I use to login, are passed to the remote desktop connection when I click on a connection. In this
    instance, the SSO works correctly, and I only need to enter the credentials once.
    With the WES 09 thin client however, I log in to the RDWeb page, and when clicking on the session collection I am prompted twice more for my credentials, meaning the SSO is not working.
    I have checked that the URL is in the intranet zone, and that "Automatic logon with current username and password" is checked, but this has not helped.
    Is anyone able to suggest things I can check, or do, to get this working?
    Thanks, Eds

    Hi Eds,
    Based on my research, to take advantage of the new Web SSO feature, the client must be running Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) 7.0.

    Many thanks Amy,
    As I feared, these thin clients are not able to run that version of the client. I guess our users will have to live with this niggle until we can replace all our thin clients.
    Thanks, again,

  • RDP SSO?

    I need a little information regarding SSO in use with Remote Desktop services.
    In searching for RD Services SSO I get these articles about getting the RDWeb SSO and using SSO with RemoteApp. But there is never any mention of RDP itself.
    My people want to be able to load up MSTSC or an .rdp file, put in the server address and connect via RDP with no prompt for credentials.  I am not seeing anything on the web on how to do this.
    We are running Windows 2012 R2 RDS.

    Hi Thomas,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    To take advantage of the new Web SSO feature, the client must be running Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) 8.1 for better feature and functionality.
    In order for Web SSO to work:
    a. The connection in RemoteApp and Desktop Connections must have an ID. By default, it is set to the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the RD Connection Broker server in case of RD Connection Broker mode. In RD Session mode, it is set to the FQDN of
    the RD Web Access server.
    b. RemoteApp programs must be digitally signed using a Server Authentication certificate [Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate]. The certificate Enhanced Key Usage section must contain ‘Server Authentication (1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.1)’. More details about the
    types of certificates used to digitally sign RemoteApp programs can be found here.
    c. Client operating systems must trust the certificate with which the RemoteApp programs are signed.
    In addition, need to add the server name under GPO setting “Allow delegating default credentials”. Please check
    this article
    for information. For mstsc to run without credential prompt, we can also edit the rdp file “PromptCredentialOnce:i:0” and see the result.

  • Minimum services to run remote desktop web connection?

    While I recognize that installing anything to do with terminal services or RDS on a domain controller is not recommended it is my only choice for a very small business that I'm helping out. They have Server 2008 R2 and all they want to be able to do is
    have a couple of people remote in to their own computers when out of the office. What services are the simplest way to accomplish this? I can't find an answer to something this minimalist anywhere.

    Hi Jim,
    For your issue regarding double prompt, suggest you to enable RD Web SSO for your case; where we need to enter username and password once. In order for Web SSO to work:
    a. The connection in RemoteApp and Desktop Connections must have an ID. By default, it is set to the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the RD Connection Broker server in case of RD Connection Broker mode. In RD Session mode, it is set to the FQDN of
    the RD Web Access server.
    b. RemoteApp programs must be digitally signed using a Server Authentication certificate [Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate].
    c. Client operating systems must trust the certificate with which the RemoteApp programs are signed.
    You can refer the following article for information.
    Introducing Web Single Sign-On for RemoteApp and Desktop Connections
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2009/08/11/introducing-web-single-sign-on-for-remoteapp-and-desktop-connections.aspx
    In regards to your error, we need to have required port open to make successful connection. Need to bind port 443 for RD Web and RD Gateway successful connection. Also need to have proper certificate.
    Addition something might have happened to your IIS settings and more specifically to your Default Application pool. For example if you install some third-party web application, it may have changed the 32/64 bit feature on your Application pool. So please check
    below points.
    1) Go to IIS -> Application Pools -> DefaultAppPool -> Advanced Settings -> Enalbe 32-Bit Application - > if it's True , change it to False
    2) Check other relevant application pools for the same setting - > SBS Web Workplace AppPool or SBS Web Applications application pool
    All of the pools should run with Enable 32-Bit - False
    More information.

  • Secure RD Web Access with Azure MFA

    We are keen to deploy RD Web Access for external users but can't find any guidance on securing it with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA - formerly PhoneFactor).
    We currently use MFA with our RD Gateway for users who connect directly to VMs via RDP but want to give other users access to RemoteApps via RD Web Access with the same two factor authentication.
    Cheers for now
    Russell

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    I am afraid that still there is no direct MFA for RD Web but need to login through RD Gateway which can access as follow. A Remote Desktop login request to RD Gateway that includes Azure MFA looks like this:
    1. User logs into RD Web Access and double clicks a RemoteApp (or desktop connection)
    2. The user’ login credentials for the website are used to validate the user (Web SSO), so no need to give them again.
    3. The user then gets an SMS text message on their smart device that provides them a 6 digit numeric code (the one-time password).
    4. The user replies to the text message by inputting this 6 digit code and adding their unique pre-defined PIN to the end of the sequence – Azure MFA includes the option to require the user know a predefined unique PIN as well, so that replies to a text message
    have to come from the user.
    5. The user is authenticated, and the RemoteApp (or desktop connection) opens.
    More information.
    Step By Step – Using Windows Server 2012 R2 RD Gateway with Azure Multifactor Authentication
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

    Dharmesh,
    I owe you an apology, I'd forgotten that when you access RD Web Access you're only downloading an RDP file which then uses the RD Gateway to connect the client to the RemoteApp. If we already have the RD Gateway in place and configured with MFA this will
    produce the required result.
    Sorry

  • AM SDK SSO with AM server running in Realm mode throws exception

    Hi All,
    we have a web application which does SSO with AM server using AM SDK APIs. Following is the code snippet.
    SSOTokenManager ssoMgr = SSOTokenManager.getInstance();
    SSOToken token = ssoMgr.createSSOToken(request);
    boolean tokenValid = ssoMgr .isValidToken(token);
    AMUser amuser = null;
    if (!tokenValid) {
    MStoreConnection amsc= new AMStoreConnection(token);
    amuser = amsc.getUser(token.getPrincipal().getName());
    String uid = amuser.getStringAttribute("uid");
    This code works perfectly fine with AM running in Legacy mode. But throws following exception with AM running in Realm mode.

    Hi All,
    we have a web application which does SSO with AM server using AM SDK APIs. Following is the code snippet.
    SSOTokenManager ssoMgr = SSOTokenManager.getInstance();
    SSOToken token = ssoMgr.createSSOToken(request);
    boolean tokenValid = ssoMgr .isValidToken(token);
    AMUser amuser = null;
    if (!tokenValid) {
    MStoreConnection amsc= new AMStoreConnection(token);
    amuser = amsc.getUser(token.getPrincipal().getName());
    String uid = amuser.getStringAttribute("uid");
    This code works perfectly fine with AM running in Legacy mode. But throws following exception with AM running in Realm mode.
    com.iplanet.am.sdk.AMException: Unable to get attributes from data store.

  • OBIEE 11g Security Structure

    Ok, having an issue with security and will give an overview of security setup and the issue.
    First, security structure. We are using a Web SSO, so users go to this SSL website, enter their LAN ID and password to login which redirects to Answers. The authentication and authorization are done by initialization blocks which were set up in 10g and upgraded to 11g, so the idea is to hold the security structure. There is a database table that has user id and roles. So when a user connects, it looks in the table based on the blocks and allows them to see what they are suppose to. This security is all setup and tested working. Next the idea was to integrate BI Publisher using that security. By default it uses Fusion Middleware, but based on our security I need to set it to use Oracle BI Server. Now when I do this, I can get people to login and then link over to publisher no issues. If I build a report in publisher and embed it in a dashboard page, when a user click that page, including the "weblogic" user, it loads with error: oracle.xdo.XDOException: Unable to create saw session. please verify the server connection. Now, if I go back and change the security structure back to Fusion Middleware and log in as weblogic user, the report loads with no errors, but end users can no longer access BI Publisher.
    So the question is, if I integrate security with BI Publisher using Oracle BI Server as the selection, is there something I may be missing in order to view BI Publisher embedded content in Answers/Dashboards?

    So the question is, if I integrate security with BI Publisher using Oracle BI Server as the selection, is there something I may be missing in order to view BI Publisher embedded content in Answers/Dashboards?Yes, there are additional steps that are required. Please check below instructions:
    1) Every user must be a part of the BIConsumer role.
    2) Steps to allow data sources to the BIConsumer in BI Publisher:
    -- Administration->Roles and Permissions->Add Data Sources:BIConsumer-> Your Datasource Name
    3) Add BIConsumer role to all the XMLPRoles in EM and add all your custom/ootb roles that are being used to the BIConsumer role.
    4) In BI Publisher –
    To access OBIEE catalog through BI Publisher
    Administration -> Server Configuration -> Catalog -> Oracle BI EE Catalog -> Test Connection -> Upload to BI Presentation Catalog
    5) In OBIEE -- Make sure the data model and report's permissions are set appropriately in the catalog.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    -Amith.
