WebAS - invalid property value

Hi,
I started to apply SP11 to WebAS 6.4 SP9 and now having problems starting the dispatcher-process. The developer-trace shows two errors:
error => Invalid property value [box.number/J2EJC00MC00009304] [jstartxx.c 808]
error => Invalid property value [system.id/0] [jstartxx.c 808]
I can't figure out why these values are wrong. What are the right values and where to set them?

Hello,
I found the same problem.
When upgrading from WebAS 6.40 SP09 => SP11 (or SP12) the update process stops before "Deploy online" because the J2EE  engine came not up.
This is because a wrong jvm parameter in the dispatchers default configuration in  WebAS 6.40 SP9:
Xms170m instead <b>-</b>Xms170m.
To fix the problem it seem to be the best choise to use the configtool BEFORE starting the upgrade to SP11 or 12.
Move to the instance_IDxxx\dispatcher_IDxxx general tab and correct the wrong jvm parameter Xms170m to -Xms170m.
Thats all.

    SQL 2005
    .NET Framework 2.0
    Citrix PS 4.0
    MS Office 2003
    When I run XL Reporter, I get this:
    XL Reporter
    An error occurred while Executing report!
    Invalid Property value.
    Thanks to Apple Liu, I did this:
    1) Make sure XLR is uninstalled. To be sure of this, check the folder
    \AddOns\XLR in their Business One client installation folder and it
    should be empty.
    2) Go to the SQL Server, and delete the database IXMetaSBOOEM manually
    if it is there. After that, go to the default data file folder of
    SQLServer (if SQLServer is installed on c:\Program Files folder, the
    data file folder should be C:\Programas\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data\
    by default). This folder is the default location for SQL Server to place
    data files. Make sure the files IXMetaSBOOEM.mdf and
    IXMetaSBOOEM_log.ldf does not exist.
    3) Go to Security->Logins in the SQL Server, delete the account xlruser
    if it exists.
    4) Try installing XLR again
    I also dropped the proper config files from SAP Support Notes into the Office 11 folder and the XL Client folder to ensure the client is using the proper .NET Framework version.
    I know this is permissions-related, since I can run XL Reporter successfully when I launch the client from the Citrix desktop when I'm logged into the server console (won't work if I RDP into the desktop as Administrator).
    Any suggestions?
    TIA
    John

    Thanks for the quick response, Gordon.  Your questioning helped me to solve the problem.  I had not tried to launch XL Reporter from the Tools menu, and when I did, I got an error message that said 8-bit color was not supported (I was running the SAP client on the Citrix desktop via an RDP session).  When I increased the color display property in my RDP session, XL Reporter worked fine.
    That also explains why I could successfully run XL Reporter from the server Console!
    Thanks, again.

  • "Invalid text value" error when calling a web service from a workflow in SharePoint Online

    I'm trying to create a workflow that loops through a list in SharePoint Online using a REST web service call. However, I'm having
    some trouble trying to pass the authentication token as described in the following article.
    http://www.fabiangwilliams.com/2013/09/03/more-on-sharepoint-2013-r...
    Basically, the workflow stops right at the "Call web service" action, and the only error it tells me is the following.
    Invalid text value.
    A text field contains invalid data. Please check the value and try again
    Has anyone had success with web service calls to SharePoint Online?

  • "Message from Webpage (error) There was an error in the browser while setting properties into the page HTML, possibly due to invalid URLs or other values. Please try again or use different property values."

    I created a site column at the root of my site and I have publishing turned on.  I selected the Hyperlink with formatting and constraints for publishing.
    I went to my subsite and added the column.  The request was to have "Open in new tab" for their hyperlinks.  I was able to get the column to be added and yesterday we added items without a problem.
    The problem arose when, today, a user told me that he could not edit the hyperlink.  He has modify / delete permissions on this list.
    He would edit the item, in a custom list, and click on the address "click to add a new hyperlink" and then he would get the error below after succesfully putting in the Selected URL (http://www.xxxxxx.com), Open
    Link in New Window checkbox, the Display Text, and Tooltip:

    We had the same issue after applying the SP2 & August CU. we open the case with MSFT and get the same resolution as you mentioned.
    I blog about this issue and having the office reference.
    Later MSFT release the Hotfix for this on December 10, 2013 which i am 100% positive should be part of future CUs.
    So if you apply the April CU then you will be fine.

  • Error while attaching document to report on Portal - Invalid selection valu

    Hello All,
    We are running our reports on Portal and as per the business requirement the users have to create comments or attach documents to certain amounts in certain columns and once they create the comment a document icon shows up near that amount (for example there are 3 columns Budget, actual, balance then the user have to create comment for some amounts which needs explanation) they do that from context menu  Documents -> Create new Comment.
    Now we want those documents to be saved on Infoprovider level and not on master data for any particular object. We have activated the flag "Characteristic is document property" on related infoobjects. We have the flag to display document icon on Infoprovider active in the web template. Now when I run the report I am able to create new comments on first two columns and when the report refreshes it shows me icon near that amount but it gives me errors on third column after the report refreshes itself. Now when I go in portal KM repository where documents are stored I do see the document that I created for the third column as well so looks like the document is getting created and being stored but the issue is when it tries to display the icon on that third column.
    The error I get is this:
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:

    Hi!
    Have you solved this problem? I have the same problem after a SPS implementation (SPS 17). The message appears when we select a single value in a DP (hierarchical filter item) that filters another one, but when I select a node it doesn't.
    Before the patch implementation the apliccation worked ok.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Updating List View Web Part property in page

    I have a List View web part (In the page > Add web part > App > document library name). I need to update the TitleUrl property of this web part through C# code.
    The SaveChanges() method below works for my visual web parts, but not for the List view webpart. I get an error saying: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation
    webpartManager = myPage.GetLimitedWebPartManager(System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.PersonalizationScope.Shared);webPart.TitleUrl = titleURL;webpartManager.SaveChanges(webPart);
    I did a casting as below
    XsltListViewWebPart listViewWebPart = (XsltListViewWebPart)webPart;listViewWebPart.TitleUrl = titleURL;webpartManager.SaveChanges(listViewWebPart);
    (Please note that casting to ListViewWebpart instead of the XsltListViewWebpart gives a invalid cast exception, which is the reason why I cast it to XsltListViewWebpart)
    But I get the error at SaveChanges() method.

    Hi Ahamed,
    According to your description, there is an issue when you try to update the TitleUrl property of a List View Web Part.
    For a better troubleshooting, I suggest you do as the followings:
    1. Debug your code step by step and make sure every object and variable is valid.
    2. Here is a code snippet about update web part property programmatically:
    SPWeb web = SPContext.Current.Web;
    SPFile file = web.GetFile(HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.ToString());
    SPLimitedWebPartManager manager = file.GetLimitedWebPartManager(PersonalizationScope.User);
    System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart webPart = manager.WebParts[this.ID];
    ((UpdateMeWebPart)webPart).Message = “Test”;
    try
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
    manager.SaveChanges(webPart);
    finally
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false;
    Here is a detailed article for your reference:

  • -1013 Invalid valid value in Enum BoTaxTypes

    I know this post is similar to a thread started on Sept 4, but it was regarding a draft document & the BoYesNo enum and the answers given in that thread do not help me.
    I am trying to update a PO that I just created to change it's confirm status to no  (using the BoYesNO enum).  The update does not occur and I get the message "-1013 Invalid valid value in Enum BoTaxTypes"
    My code looks like this:
             lretcode = vPO.Add
                   If lRetCode <> 0 Then
                        'Check Error
                        oCompany.GetLastError(nErr, errMsg)
                        rtncde = -2 'SBO PO Add failed
                    End If
                    ' Check to see if the SBO Order total matches the WEBi Order Total
                    Dim docentry As Long
                    docentry = oCompany.GetNewObjectKey()
                    If vPO.GetByKey(docentry) Then
                        If vPO.DocTotal <> POH.DocTotal Then
                            rtncde = +6 'SBO Order total does not match the WEBi Order Total.
                            'vPO.Comments = vPO.Comments.Trim & vbCrLf & "Totals Don't Match"
                            vPO.Confirmed = SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum.tNO
                            lRetCode = vPO.Update()
                            If lRetCode <> 0 Then
                                'Check Error
                                oCompany.GetLastError(nErr, errMsg)
                                rtncde = +5 ' po update failed
                            End If
                        End If
                    End If
    I have tried just changing the comments on the PO instead of changing the confirmed property and I get the same message.
    The PO is added successfully and I can go into the client and clear the "approved" check box on the logistics pane and update the record successfully.
    Does anyone have any ideas?  - THANKS!

    Hi John,
    Your code works on the US demo DB with some internal build of the next patch for 2005 SP01 (which is currently going through the QA process)!
    I should be published "soon", but I cannot give you an exact date.
    Sorry.

    Hi,
    Could we get you to change 1010319 to a meaningful handle -- I'm Howard.
    In order to give helpful answers, we usually need more information including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    Full APEX version
    Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    Browser(s) and version(s) used
    Theme used
    Template(s) used / modified -- (Revelant/important for some problems.)
    Region/item type(s)
    and more detail about what you want to do.
    Are you using ARP (Automatic Row Processing)?
    Do you do any validations?
    Could you make a trival 1-page application on apex.oracle.com duplicating the problem there?

    Well I believe this is not officially mentioned anywhere, but this is the limitations for the java embedding activity. You can assign value to a single variable or to the single part element of variable only. I suggest you go with a java web service. you can check more details on java embedding activity @ http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_java.htm

    I have 3 front end servers(fx wfe1, wfe2, wfe3).  And here is the twist.
    If I access the library directly through wfe1 and wfe2, I get the error. If I access the library via wfe3 if works just fine.
    So because of this, I think it is safe to assume that is has nothing to do with the character limit of 255. Nor does it have anything to do with the field type, since it is already set to mulitible lines of text.
    So. Any ideas?

    Check if there is any change in web.config of these servers
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2880758
    To work around this issue, limit the length of the personal message in the invitation to 256 characters or less.
    This is a known issue. Microsoft is working to resolve this issue.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/7bb16e51-e7cc-439e-a8b3-755683ccac1a/max-length-on-custom-field-types
    To solve the problem you may have to change the field's parent type to "note". To do that you have to open your fldtypes... file under Templates/xml and change the line to:
    "<Field Name="ParentType">Note</Field>" from "<Field Name="ParentType">Text</Field>"
    You might also have to add a sql type if your text needs to be longer than 255 characters
    <Field Name=”SQLType”>ntext</Field>
    and inherit from SPFieldMultiLineText instead of SPFieldText

  • Spaces in property values result in values bein enclosed in quotes (Linux)

    G'day,
    I couldn't find this mentioned in the bugs database (or anywhere else) so it might be a new bug.
    If a property value in a JNLP descriptor contains spaces then the resulting property value returned by System.getProperty() is enclosed in quotes, e.g.
    <property name="jnlp.blah" value="foo bar"/>
    results in System.getProperty("jnlp.blah") returning the value +{color:#ff0000}"{color}foo bar{color:#ff0000}"{color}+ instead of the expected foo bar (without quotes).
    In the Java console I see the following:
    jnlpx.vmargs = {color:#ff0000}"{color}-Xmx512m -Xms256m ... -Djnlp.blah={color:#ff0000}\"{color}foo bar{color:#ff0000}\"{color} ... {color:#ff0000}"{color}
    This only affects Linux (tested with JRE 6.0_20 on Ubuntu 10.04). The same JNLP launched with Java Web-Start on Windows (JREs 6.0_12 & 6.0_21 on Vista) produces the following:
    jnlpx.vmargs = -Xmx512m -Xms256m ... {color:#ff0000}"{color}-Djnlp.blah=foo bar{color:#ff0000}"{color} ...
    So, the problem stems from the way property values with spaces are handled by the Linux implementation of the JRE.
    Has anyone else come across this behaviour?
    Regards,
    Chris.

    If there is one, the best thing to do is raise a bug report, but first you'll need a test case.
    Something with source, JNLP and build file provided. In fact, if you can produce that in a Zip archive available on the net, I can download it and run it both Win 7 & Ubuntu for a further test. Good call - narrowing down a test-case helped me pin down the problem.1. Download the test-case here.
    2. Unzip to /tmp:
    cd /tmp
    unzip JnlpPropertyWithSpacesBug.zip
    3. Test 1:
    javaws file:///tmp/JnlpPropertyWithSpacesBug/test.jnlp
    This should result in the message: System.getProperty("jnlp.my.property") returns null
    This is the correct result.
    4. Test 2:
    javaws /tmp/custom.jnlp
    On Linux, this should result in the message: +System.getProperty("jnlp.my.property") returns {color:#ff0000}"{color}should not be enclosed in double-quotes{color:#ff0000}"{color}+
    This result is incorrect (shouldn't have double quotes).
    Note that custom.jnlp is a customized version of JnlpPropertyWithSpacesBug/test.jnlp:
    1. attributes have been added to the java tag
    2. a property tag has been added for a secure property: sun.java2d.noddraw
    3. a property tag has been added for a jnlp property: jnlp.my.property
    All three are needed to produce the bug. It only occurs on when the Linux JRE is used (6.0_20; Ubuntu 10.04).
    This simulates the situation in which a custom JNLP descriptor is dynamically generated, e.g. to invoke the application with custom system properties.
    There will be extra chance of test results if you can provide a link directly to the JNLP file on the net. The test case would need to be small and sand-boxed, of course.Any suggestions as to where you can freely host Java Web-Start applications?
    Thanks,
    Chris.

  • "Property value is not valid" when PropertyGridView tries to convert a string to a custom object type.

    Hi,
    I have a problem with an PropertyGrid enum property that uses a type converter.
    In general it works, but when I double clicking or using the scoll wheel,  an error message appears:
    "Property value is not valid"
    Details: "Object of type 'System.String' cannot be converted to type 'myCompany.myProject.CC_myCustomProperty."
    I noticed that the CommitValue method (in PropertyGridView.cs) tries to convert a string value to a CC_myCustomProperty object.
    Here is the code that causes the error (see line 33):
    (Using the .net symbols from the PropertyGridView.cs file)
    1
            internal bool CommitValue(GridEntry ipeCur, object value) {

    4
    5
                int propCount = ipeCur.ChildCount;
    6
                bool capture = Edit.HookMouseDown;
    7
                object originalValue = null;

    33

                        ShowInvalidMessage(ipeCur.PropertyLabel, value, ex);
    43
                        return false;
    44
    I'm stuck.
    I was wondering is there a way to work around this? Maybe extend the string converter class to accept this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Eric

  • Popup Key LOV, NULL and "Invalid numeric value undefined for column"

    Hello.
    I've created an item based on database column of NUMBER type and set the following properties:
    Display As = Popup Key LOV (Displays description, returns key value)
    List of values definition=select 'display_value' d, 1 r from dual
    Null display value=%
    Null return value=
    Display Null=Yes
    When I select "%" in the LOV and try to apply changes to database I get error:
    ORA-20001: Error in DML: p_rowid=1781, p_alt_rowid=N1, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-20001: Invalid numeric value undefined for column N2
    Error Unable to process row of table TTT.
    If I set Display As = Select List, all works fine. But I need Popup Key LOV.
    Could anybody help me?
    I use Application Express 2.2.1.00.04

    Hi all,
    I did my homework and solved this issue. First I would like to thank Patrick Wolf for the invaluable help he gives out on thread Re: Null value handling in LOVs The code presented here is just a minor edit to his code, but an essential one when dealing with Popup Key LOV items.
    Here's what I did:
    1. Create an Application Process.
    Name: RemoveNulls
    Sequence: 0
    Point: On Submit: After Page Submission - Before Computations and Validations
    Process Text:
    BEGIN
        FOR rItem IN
          ( SELECT ITEM_NAME
              FROM APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_ITEMS
             WHERE APPLICATION_ID   = TO_NUMBER(:APP_ID)
               AND PAGE_ID          IN (TO_NUMBER(:APP_PAGE_ID), 0)
               AND LOV_DISPLAY_NULL = 'Yes'
               AND LOV_DEFINITION   IS NOT NULL
               AND LOV_NULL_VALUE   IS NULL
        LOOP
            IF (V(rItem.ITEM_NAME) = '%null' || '%' OR V(rItem.ITEM_NAME) = 'undefined')
            THEN
                Apex_Util.set_session_state(rItem.ITEM_NAME, NULL);
            END IF;
        END LOOP;
    END;Error Message: #SQLERRM#Condition: None
    2. You should be able to submit a Popup Key LOV with a NULL value now.
    Once again, THANKS, Patrick! You rock! I'm seriously thinking of trying ApexLib now :)
