WebCam with FMJ and LTI-CIVIL

Hello Everyone,
I am working with the LTI-CIVIL library on my mac, trying to capture individual frames from the built in iSight camera for processing. I have been trying to modify one of the examples given on the LTI-CIVIL website, CaptureFrame. I have removed the gui aspect of the program. When run alone, still with its own main method, it seems to run perfectly. However, when I remove the main method, I get the following error:
com.lti.civil.CaptureException: quicktime.std.StdQTException[QTJava:7.2.1g],-9405=couldntGetRequiredComponent,QT.vers:7218000
at com.lti.civil.impl.qtjava.QTCaptureSystem.openCaptureDeviceStream(QTCaptureSystem.java:69)
I know that an error without code will not mean too much, so here is the affected line of code noted by netbeans:
captureStream = system.openCaptureDeviceStream(info.getDeviceID());Also, here is the code that I modified the most in the class. Maybe this will help shed some light...
public WebCam2() throws CaptureException{
            WebCam2(DefaultCaptureSystemFactorySingleton.instance());
public void WebCam2(CaptureSystemFactory factory) throws CaptureException
          this.factory = factory;
}I appreciate your help! If my question is too convoluted, or you don't know the answer, if you could refer me to a tutorial or similar which might help me in my efforts, I would really appreciate it.
P.S. Not to be asinine, but I do mean FMJ, not JMF. This just seemed the best place to post my question. If not, please let me know!

  • Can't run the webcam with MAX and LV12

    Hi,
I would like to configure and run a webcam via Measurement & Automation Explorer and Labview 2012.
I am working in windows 7 Ultimate (64bits).
    Labview: 2012 (32bits) V 12.0f3
    MAX: V5.3.3f2
    Vision Acquisition Software: 2011
I installed Labview 2012 without issue. Then i installed Vision Acquisition Sofware 2011 to have the library neccesary for the webcam. But, before the end of the installation. I got this error screen ( see bellow Windows_Firewall_Might_Be_Enabled.jpeg): WARNING: Windows Firewall Might Be Enabled. So, i tried to turn OFF, turn ON my Windows Firewall. I have still had the same error screen even if I tried to reinstall Vision.
    Any ideas about this issue?
Then I ran Measurement & Automation Explorer, go to Devices and Interfaces and NI-IMAQdx Devices. I can see my webcam ( Logitech HD Webcam C270). Double click on it. And i have the first error screen :cwimaq Errors loading control. The default settings for the control will be used. Then this error message: cwimaq Error creating default control. And i have a Unexpected Error (see picture bellow). I tried couple times to restart the computer. But It is still the same issue. So, I really don't know why it is doing that. Any ideas?
And when I run Labview and try to go in propreties of Vision Acquisition Express: Labview displayed : Unable to view properties. So I can't use my webcam with Labview for the moment. Furthermore, I downloaded ni_imaq_usb_installer_86 to get the  good library for the usb.
    Thanks for helping me,
    Best regards,
    Francois

  • JavaFx2 project with LTI-CIVIL issue

    Hi all,
Some time ago, i built a video api for my company, using LTI-CIVIL. All worked fine until we updated our main app, and started using JavaFX for some layout components.
To be able to use those Javafx components we had to change the project in netbeans, from a normal Java to a JavaFx with swing project. All worked well running from the IDE, both the video API and Javafx stuff coexisted peacefully... until..
well, unitl i decided to run the app using the compiled JAR... The app opens, but when i start the video aquisition from the webcam, the app crashes.
I narrowed it down, and it crashes when the CaptureStream from LTI-CIVIL is started.. it really does not make any sense..
I tried the exact same source code from the video api compiled inside a normal java project, and inside a javaFx project. On the normal project all woks fine, inside the javaFx project it crashes.. so im pretty sure its not my fault. And besides, it works well for bot projects running from the IDE..
Btw: LTI-CIVIL relies heavily on native code..
Any you have any idea of what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance for all the help
    Best regards
    Pedro

    Hi all,
I did some more tests around this, and when i used the source code of civil instead of the compiled JAR, e get an error..
But its a very strange error which only occurs when running the JAR.. It does not occur when running a normal JAVA project with the exact same code.
    This is the error..
"Exception in thread "Thread-155" java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError: Class com.lti.civil.impl.jni.NativeVideoFormat does not implement the requested interface com.lti.civil.VideoFormat"
The "NativeVideoFormat" implements the "VideoFormat".. why is it giving this error then? looks like some kind of compile issue..
I know this not an issue that looks like it has high priority because it affects a third party API.. But since LTI-CIVIL is the only viable cross platform webcam capture API out there, this is really important to be solved.
Otherwise no one will ever use JavaFX on an app with webcam support.. :(
if needed i can try to cook a fully working trimmed down project just to trigger the error.
    regards

  • Webcam on 2008 Mac Pro with Bootcamp and Windows 7.  Cannot get it to work.

Have windows 7 Professional on my mac, using Bootcamp
I cannot get any webcam to work.
So far, I have used ....
A Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac. No app can detect it.
A Logitech C510 Webcam (for PC) No app can detect it.
An Agama V-2025 Webcam (for both Mac & PC and supposedly no additional drivers needed). No app can detect it.
I called Logitech and they said as it was too complicated for them to support, (i.e. Windows on a mac with bootcamp) and so they couldn't help.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
    Thanks.

Use bootcamp. I have been a loyal Adobe guy for 12+ years, but now that I have upgraded to mac...Adobe just sucks. I have not been able to finish a project yet do to the shabby CS4 media encoder.

  • Streaming Webcam with media server and cs3

Can someone explain how to stream a webcam with media server?
Ive got media server and flash cs3 (actionscript 2.0 in this
case) installed, and I want to create a live webcam stream, but Im
not really sure how to do it. I know it involves NetStream, and
camera somewhere along the line but thats about it. If someone coul
give me an iea of how to o it that owul be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Clockwork_Killa,
I don't use it with webcams, but there are some nice examples
in William Sanders book, Actionscript 3.0 Design Patterns. It's the
only book I've found that has any real world examples of working
with media in Flash with fms2.
Hope it helps. Good luck. You're going to need it ;)

    Hello
Do you still have these problems?
I dont know which online applications do you mean but if you use webcam with Skype, MSN or similar applications it should work properly and it has nothing to do with any kind of connectivity.
Preinstalled Web camera Application must not start with operating system and I recommend you to disable it in start-up or exit web camera Application before you start this online application.
For instance, when you use Skype and start it web cam should be recognized automatically. Check it in Skype video options.

  • PC Webcam works with iChat and iSight

Before I purchase a web cam for my PC I need to know if it will work with iChat and iSight. Will I need to install any third party software for my mac or PC?

    Hi Gene,
You will need to make a choice between AIM and Trillian
The AIM app is free but does not Audio only Chat to iChat users and has a very small pic.
Trillian costs $25 for the Pro version to Video chat but has a Bigger pic and can do full screen. The Basic version can alos Audio only chat to iChat users. Trillian can also join other IM services.
More info on setting up AIM on the PC http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/page12.html and the XP Service Pack 2 firewall. The Firewall will need to have Trillain enabled though it as well if you use that.

  • How do I use my gigaware webcam with my mac?

How do I use my gigaware webcam with my mac? I just bought this webcam on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IJE0ISS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF 8&psc=1 and I want to use it with my mac. Is there an adapter or any software to make it compatible? Thanks.

Your amazon link states, in part, that this webcam is:
Compatible with Microsoft Windows 7,Vista, XP, 2000
Use a Mac OS X Compatible Webcam like one of those shown in the linked article instead.
For best compatibility and security, also update your OS X Mavericks (10.9.2) to the current OS X version by restarting Mac and then downloading and installing OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update (Combo).

  • Video Stream from Webcam with socket possible?

    Hello there,
i want to stream a live feed from my webcam in a chat, but i have no idea how to manage it... ( i dont want RTP ) ...
I can allready display it on my screen, but how do i stream this ?
Can i create a Socketstream from this ?
And how can i transmit the format info to the other side?
What i have is the following:
    The Component of the Camera:Component live = player.getVisualComponent();And the Formatsprivate static Format[] availableFormats;
    availableFormats = deviceInfo.getFormats();Any Ideas ?

    Hi,
I want to do the same thing ... I was able to stream audio through the socket but could not stream video.
I posted my question at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=674676&tstart=15
and presented a sketch of my implementation design. But until now no one has answered my question.
This is how you should hook up the components on the transmitter side
    Webcam --> Processor --> Custom DataSink --> PushBufferStream --> PushBufferHandler --> Socket --> Network.
You can implement the transferData() method of the PushBufferHandler to write to a socket.
And on the Receiver side the components should be hooked up like this
Network --> Socket --> PullBufferStream --> custom DataSource --> Player
    Now as I mentioned in
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=674676&tstart=15
the audio works fine but the video does not. The video does not render on the receiver side.
Note: I tried TCP sockets with audio and it is terrible (not practical at all) so I reverted to UDP datagrams and the result was better than I expected. I didn't take care of the ordering of received packet at the receiver but it still worked fine.
I am still looking waiting for some help in why video is not rendering and how can I sovle this problem.
I am workning on a project and time is running out.
    Any help?

2)Anything that is required to access anything of a clients computer, i.e com ports, files and resources needs a signed applet.
    3)http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Security/Signed/
And yes you have to work with

I am using a mac IbookG4 laptop- my boyfriend has a dell PC laptop. I have the Isight webcam with microphone built into it. We can't reach a connection to each other, I am using IChat and he is using AIM. We can send invitations to each other, but when i get one from him and hit accept, nothing happens. A message appears that says "andra king (me) has failed to respond." Can anyone please help me and let me know what the problem could be? Thank you
    -Andra

    Hello -Andra,
As already recommended, you will find many of your answers in the iChat AV Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
I am one of the testers listed in the Want to Test your iSight With Another Person? FAQ.
I do video with PCs from my Mac/iChat AV/iSight almost every day. It works well for most of us the first time and with varying amounts of trials, configuration, and setup effort for others. A very few cannot ever make it work. Those cases are rare, though, so try all the suggestions you can find. You will most likely be successful.
For additional info and my best suggestions about video with PCs, see Mac Video Chat with PCs.
My suggestions cover the entire range, so some may not apply to you, but try ALL that you do not KNOW they are not a part of your problem. There are suggestions in there for your PC pals to apply, too.
If you are new to iChat or iSight, be sure to consider the other suggestions linked there, like those in Using iSight with iChat AV. For instance, as recommended there, you should
    b immediately
update to Mac OS X (10.3.9). It resolves many significant issues with older versions, including (10.3.3), which you report using.
    Both you
    b and your chat buddies
should try connecting with several others to determine whose system is causing the problems. There is no need to try things at both ends unless you know that both ends have problems.
If you try some of the suggestions offered here and encounter more specific questions, we will be happy to try to provide more specific answers based on your new information.

  • Has anyone used this cool WebCam with a Mac yet?

i'm in the market for a webcam for my new mac pro. i'm looking for the very best one out there. i ran into this WebCam called "aGent V4 HD". It looks awesome! Its a 3MP HD WebCam that comes with a desk mount and LCD mount. But its sold out of Australia. I was wondering if anyone has used it with osx 10.5.6.
    here's a link:
    http://agent.liquiddigital.com.au/index.htm

I've just taken delivery of one of these and have to say that, a few glitches aside, I'm pretty impressed. It looks quite sexy and gives a great quality picture that has been commented on by all Skype correspondents who hitherto were used to my looking like a bowl of porridge.
It comes with 3 useful mounting devices including a great grappling hook looking thing which will hang on top of my 30" cinema display but I actually prefer to have it on the floor stand at head height otherwise the angle is a bit high from all the way up there.
The only disappointment for me is that I cannot seem to get the internal mic working. Fortunately it does come with a clip on mic which does work when plugged in via the USB gizmo but the built in cam mic just won't play for me.
I wonder if I'm missing something because I have an older webcam with a built in mic which again I have never had any joy with.
Any useful suggestions in this point gratefully received!

  • Wireless Webcam with Connect

Good morning group!  I thought I would share  new camera that WORKS with Adobe Connect.
We have been trying to find a 'wireless webcam' that would work with Connect.  Logitech as released a new camera they call the Broadcaster.  On their site it says the unit is designed to work with Skype and UStream.  We bought a few to test out and I am happy to report that it also works with Connect.
Using a mac computer you load the application, then it comes up with a QR code that you point the camera at and it will then join the Wifi network that the computer is on.  Then the computer will show that the camera is connected.
You launch, connect, and enable webcam.  Then you have the option to choose Broadcaster from the webcam choice and audio source.
Your done.  The adobe connect room sees the camera as if it was plugged into the machine but you are free to walk around.  I took it for a walk to the other side of our building and it maintained a great picture.
If you haave any qurestions just post them below.  Also if you need to see it in action post or email or tweet me (@timclynch) and I will send you the link to join my demo room.
    Have a great day.
    Tim

Have you found a wireless webcam that works with windows.
We recently just built a new conference room where we need a wireless webcam for our adobe connect meetings and can not find one that is compatible with both adobe connect and windows....
