WebCenter Favicon in browser tab and URL

Hi all,
SR 3-5937292041
How do we place a WebCenter favicon to the browser tabs and in front of the Spaces URL?
In Spaces 11.1.1.6.0 it is empty by default even if there is an ORACLE logo shown in the banner.
There is one for bugdb, MOS, etc...
Any hints?

Verena,
Just check the OHS error log.
It will contain errors getting the favicon image, like:
File does not exist: /oracle/fmw/Oracle_WT1/instances/instance1/config/OHS/ohs1/htdocs/favicon.ico
Simply add the icon in that folder and you're done.

How can I capture and take screenshots of all the browser tabs and not only windows ?

This class identifies all minimized windows and take a snapshot (screenshot) of them. I want to take screenshots also of all the broswer for example chrome tabs windows that are open but not in the front. Same idea that it get now the minimized windows but
to get the screenshots of the broswer opened tabs ! What should I change in the WindowSnap class? Since both classes are a bit long I added them to pastebin.com
What i'm doing now is to get all the minimized windows i mean all the the windows in the back if it's chrome browser windows or open tabs if it's program games other windows. This is what i'm doing in form1 constructor:

The problem is in form1 constructor i'm getting only 23-24 windows in the listBox1. When i'm doing this two lines:

I see in numitems about 30 windows and after filtering i'm getting 20 windows and i checked that's the correct number of opened minmizied windows i have in this example 20.
Now what i want to do is somehow to get with all this windows in the listBox also all the opened tabs in chrome.
For exmaple i have only 4 opened chrome windows. But in one of the chrome windows i have almost 40 tabs opened !
I want somehow to add to the listBox all this opened tabs also as captured screenshots like i'm doing now with the windows.
This is a screenshot of my program showing what i'm doing and what i get:
So now i have 19 windows captured in the next refresh it will show 20.
My question is if there is any way to capture also all the chrome opened tabs in all the windows if any opened tabs are opened at all ? Now i'm getting only the chrome opened windows captured screenshot. But i want to get also the chrome tabs captured screenshots.

Tabs and url (request) parameters

In our application we use tabs (Folders) and in those we got portlets that submit forms using post method. (so it is not shown on the url)
The problem occures when you change tab. Then all the parameters submitted in the form is shown on the URL. And it seems to add new parameters for all the portlets you are visiting.
Is it possible to set up portal to (clear) the request when you switch between tabs? Is there any other settings?

Spry tabbing and URL variables

Thanks to these forums I can now link to my lovely Spry tabs.
However, I'm no longer able to pass my page variable by URL and I
was wondering if there was a work-around for this. My basic link is
as follows:

onclick="TabbedPanels1.showPanel('third'); return
false;">#eventName#</a>
The link is tied to a specific database entry and, when
clicked, should load that entry on the panel. The entry is to
display on the third panel. While the panel links fine, the
database entry isn't called as the variable isn't passed.
Any ideas how I can best this little problem?

I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled firefox to try and solve this
issue, but it has not fixed the issue. To open a new tab I must right click

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

Some tabs and click-on headings are not working. They worked yesterday, and other than updating Firefox AFTER the problems, I've made no changes. Example: headings in Facebook; headings in my library website.

Some of the browser tabs and headers that are "clickable" are noe working. I click on them, and nothing happens. Part of Facebook works, but the headers do not. My library site headers, which has tabs for "Search" and "Account" as examples, do not work. Up till late yesterday, there were no problems. I did re-install Firefox this morning, and it made no difference.

The Yahoo! Toolbar extension has been reported to cause this issue.

UIShell Dynamic tabs vs multiple Browser tabs ?

Can someone explain what is exactly benefits we have by using dynamic tabs, compare to multiple browser tabs ?
Can anyone give an example of the problems encountered when using multiple browser tabs ?

As for the UIShell vs multi browser tabs, it's a UI design question. Once upon a time Mozilla Thunderbird used to open emails in separate windows (= multi browser tabs) and now uses inline tabs (= UI Shell). Which is the right way? Neither, depends on your user requirements.

Open URL from Java in a new browser tab

Surprisingly can't find the implimintation.
In an ADF managed bean I retrieve String url. I need to open a new browser tab with this url.
Found this thread Open a url in a new window in the backing bean which shows using javascript "service.addScript(facesContext, "window.open(http://www.google.coml)");".
But in my case in doesn't work. The code is executed, but nothing happens. Maybe because the bean is called from a taskflow inline popup.

Well, I'm afraid that is not an option.
The goButton is in a table row. There are lots of rows so if I use EL for Destination attribute the URL would be retrieved for each of rows.
The method of URL retreiving is heavyweight operation which includes calling plsql functions, working with strings and others. So if I do it for each table row my application hungs and then I receive an exception of CPU usage.
That's why I switched to normal commandButton witch actionListener which retrieves url on click - only once. So I need to open URL from Java.

Is there a way to select MULTIPLE tabs and then copy ALL of the the URLs and titles/or URLs+titles+HTML links? This can be done with the Multiple Tab Handler add on; However, I prefer to use a Firefox feature rather than download an add on. Thanks.

Currently, I can copy ONE tab's url and nothing else (not its name). Or I can bookmark all tabs that are open. However, I'd like to have the ability to select multiple tabs and then copy ALL of the the URLs AND their titles/or copy ALL of the URLs+titles+HTML links? You should definitely be able to upload multiple files by Shift-clicking or Ctrl-clicking the files you want to upload. Just to make sure you don't have an old version of the service cached, please clear the browser cache and then log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. After clicking the File Upload icon in the upper-right corner, you should be able so select multiple files for upload.

Has version 4 eliminated the save tabs and quit when closing the browser?

I had the beta version of firefox 4, but now that i got the latest version 4.0, I no longer receive the option of saving my open tabs when I close the browser window. I am only warned that I am going to close them or I can cancel. I there any way I can save the open tabs?

You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle with a double left-click.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
You can use Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session to get back the previous session.
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

Why does the Welcome to firefox tab open with my google tab every time I open the browser? And why can't the browser hold any add-ons I downloaded? I loose then when I close the browser, even tool bars have to be reinstalled every time I open the browser

Every time I open the browser the Welcome to Firefox tab is the first tab, then a second tab opens and thats my google, then a 3rd tab opens for me to reinstall my toolbar. This has been happening for a good year. Updates have not fixed it. Others have this problem. I did a search for an answer, the question is out there but no answer. Now if I go into add ons and add a background Theme or an extension it all is gone when I exit the browser. When I open the browser again I get all 3 tabs and have to install my toolbar again. I DO NOT want to reinstall as I will loose all my saved data, passwords, bookmarks, everything! I have had this computer for a year, Windows Vista x64 bit. Its not the computer, it's the browser.
