Tabs and url (request) parameters

In our application we use tabs (Folders) and in those we got portlets that submit forms using post method. (so it is not shown on the url)
The problem occures when you change tab. Then all the parameters submitted in the form is shown on the URL. And it seems to add new parameters for all the portlets you are visiting.
Is it possible to set up portal to (clear) the request when you switch between tabs? Is there any other settings?

How do we place a WebCenter favicon to the browser tabs and in front of the Spaces URL?
In Spaces 11.1.1.6.0 it is empty by default even if there is an ORACLE logo shown in the banner.
There is one for bugdb, MOS, etc...

Just check the OHS error log.
It will contain errors getting the favicon image, like:
File does not exist: /oracle/fmw/Oracle_WT1/instances/instance1/config/OHS/ohs1/htdocs/favicon.ico
Simply add the icon in that folder and you're done.

Spry tabbing and URL variables

Hi there,
Thanks to these forums I can now link to my lovely Spry tabs.
However, I'm no longer able to pass my page variable by URL and I
was wondering if there was a work-around for this. My basic link is
as follows:
<a href="index.cfm?ID=#ID#"
onclick="TabbedPanels1.showPanel('third'); return
false;">#eventName#</a>
The link is tied to a specific database entry and, when
clicked, should load that entry on the panel. The entry is to
display on the third panel. While the panel links fine, the
database entry isn't called as the variable isn't passed.
Any ideas how I can best this little problem?

Accessing a specific tab and/or region via an URL ?

Is there a way to change the tab of a page using an URL ?
I have the same question concerning the regions of a page (if so it would be working like a frameset) ?My situtation: I have a HTML Portlet containing a custom Menu using Javascript, and I want the links to point a specific tab or a region of my page. => I guess I could use the 'changetabs' and 'regionid' parameters next to the 'pageid' in the URL.
Any kind of hints appreciated !

Hi,
A portal page cannot work as a frame. Each region is a html table and a portlet in it is also a table. They are nested.
Tabs are links. You can copy the url of the tab by right clicking the tab and paste it as the menu link.
You cannot copy a region because it is not a frame it is a html table.

Outbound HTTP adapter and URL parameters

Hi all
I'm having some trouble with a XI scenario I'm supposed to implement.
I should get invoices from a vendors webserver using a url with parameters (ex. http://myvendor.com/getinvoice.jsp?invoiceid=12345) and send it as INVOICE IDoc to the R/3.
I thought that would be an easy one using the Plain HTTP-Adapter but I can't figure out how to build the URL. Is there a way to do that, or do I need to implement my own adapter??

Hi experts ,
I have this scenario from Legacy to XI to external app server.I have a test jsp to execute that functionality .Its a jsp which has 1 textarea named "test" and when I click on the submit buton I get a response back.This way I am able to test this independently.Now from XI when I am executing my scenario I am getting status code '1250' and message as ' http request(test) is null'.Now in the scenario in http adapter I just provide the target host : ip of server ,
service number : port no ,
path: the container or the request handler. But this scenario fails and gives me the above erroneous response.Now Basically I am not able to get how to send the value to the textarea "test"? please provide help as soon as possible.Do we have to put the name of the jsp in the "path" in http adapter and use prolog as test= or should it be &test= .I tried this but it doesnt work.So please provide help on this as soon as possible or please suggest a solution at [email protected]

Somtimes Firefox loads a blank page; the Tab says "New Tab" and the URL is always "about:blank". What's up with that?

The Tab says "New Tab" and the URL says "about:blank". The last one came up slowly in IE and turned out to be nothing more than a large pdf. Can you help me figure out what is happening and how to fix it, please? It is happening far too often. Running the virus, etc. software has not stopped this problem. Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

Is there a way to select MULTIPLE tabs and then copy ALL of the the URLs and titles/or URLs+titles+HTML links? This can be done with the Multiple Tab Handler add on; However, I prefer to use a Firefox feature rather than download an add on. Thanks.

Currently, I can copy ONE tab's url and nothing else (not its name). Or I can bookmark all tabs that are open. However, I'd like to have the ability to select multiple tabs and then copy ALL of the the URLs AND their titles/or copy ALL of the URLs+titles+HTML links? This can be done with the Multiple Tab Handler add on; when I download the add on, I get a message saying that using the add on will disable Firefox's tab features. I prefer to use Firefox features rather than download and use an add on. Is there a way to do this without an add on?

You should definitely be able to upload multiple files by Shift-clicking or Ctrl-clicking the files you want to upload. Just to make sure you don't have an old version of the service cached, please clear the browser cache and then log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. After clicking the File Upload icon in the upper-right corner, you should be able so select multiple files for upload.

Problem with parameters to fix opening of old tabs and saving files when a new session is open

Since 2 weeks I have a problem: I always fix my parameters to restore previous session with all my tabs and I choose that Firefox asks me where I want to save my downloaded files. Now each time I close Firefox and I reopen it, it is not taken into account, and 3 tabs are opened: Firefox, Google and Thank to install Zotero! I rechange it, but every time it opens these tabs and not my old tabs. The same for saving files. It goes back automatically to open start page and to save my file in Downloads. Even if I rechange, it comes back the same.
I desinstalled CCleaner (I thought it could be that) but nothing changes!

Here's what I would try:
*Reset Firefox - this should fix the issue but it will change settings like where files are downloaded and what tabs open at startup back to their defaults.
*Then change your download and session restore preferences back to how you like them.
Here's how:
#Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
#Open the options window - Tools > Options > General
#In the General panel set Firefox to open your tabs from last time and set Firefox to ask you where to save downloads.
#Click OK
That should do it. Let me know if this worked.

your solution of using <f:parameter> is perfect #in case# <h:command_button> is not nested inside <h:data_table> , otherwise the request parameter passed will always show the value of the 1st row , not the clicked row .
consider the following :

Our Mangement would like to further simplify the access request form and would want the comments tab removed from the access request form. Is this possible? I have not seen anywhere in the configuration area where this can be done.

Removal of comment Tab form access request form is not possible in both the version of Access Enforcer 5.2 and 5.3.
You have to create enhancement request To SAP for this type of functionality.

Newbie: what is the equivalent of passing request parameters?

I am new to JSF. I have read many tutorials and articles. I still don't get one concept about passing parameters. Note: I don't want to store stuff in the session unless I have to.
Let's say I have a page with a list of users. I layout the page with a panelGrid. Each row of the table has the first and last name of the user. If a user clicks on the name of a user on the user list, it should go to the user profile page. The backing bean for the user list page will be the UserListBean. It has a method called getUsers() that returns a List of User objects.
For the View User page, I have a ViewUserBean. The ViewUserBean retrieve the entire profile for that user.
How do I pass the user ID to the ViewUserBean? In struts, I would pass it as a request parameter (I would manually write the link URL with the userID). I know I can use the request like that in JSF, but that seems ugly. I looked at the code of the J2EE bookstore tutorial and it does a funky thing with all sorts of data stored in the session.
What is the best way to request a page and "pass in" a userID?

I have a case on my current project very similar to your case. What you want, very simply, is an easy way to allow faces to handle URLs like http://www.domain.com/showUserDetails?userId=50
The natural trouble is that when loading the page, there is no action to use to prefetch the User object based on the Request Parameters in JSF.
All the solutions above either rely on the session or they are exceedingly complex. This case is actually very easy to do and is very straight forward using Managed Properties and a Request Scope bean...
Here is the rather straight forward solution I used...
First, make a "ShowUserDetailsBean" which represents the "logic" for this page.

Caveat: I haven't added any sample logic to handle cases where you visit:
http://www.domain.com/showUserDetails
without specifying a userId. I suggest you add some basic logic to your page to handle this case more gracefully.
