  • Webcenter collaboration not starting, error in linked db alias

    Hi
    I installed webcenter collaboration and at the end I run all the scripts in the oracle db, everything was ok without errors or warnings.
    When I try to start collaboration i got an error that say that the linked database alias is not correct.
    i test [aluischema].ora. [aluischema].dbo.
    both the alui and collaboration user can see those tables.
    Which value i must put in the Linked Database Alias parameter on the configuration of collaboration component.. it's the only thing that i dont really know.
    any idea ?
    thanks

    Your database alias should be the SID, i.e. whatever the user name is for your plumtree database. However, you may want to ensure you've created the CollabRead role...
    Execute the following as a DBA (system user):
    create role CollabRead;
    grant CollabRead to <collab DB SID>;
    Execute the following as your plumtree database SID:
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptvgroupmembership to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptcommunities to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptcommsecurity to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptfolders to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptobjectsecurity to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptusers to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptusergroups to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptmycommunities to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptprefs to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptpropertydata to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptmigration to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptserverconfig to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptobjectproperties to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptlocalizations to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptcards to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptusergroups to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptproperties to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptuserinfomap to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptadminfoldersecurity to CollabRead;
    grant select on plumdbuser.ptpages to CollabRead;
    Maybe you executed the scripts but didn't create the role, or didn't grant it to the right user?

  • EM AS Control display problem in preconfigured OC4J of JDev 10.1.3.4.0

    I just downloaded JDeveloper Studio Edition for Windows 10.1.3.4.0 from TechNet, unzipped it and started it. I started the WebCenter preconfigured OC4J. From a browser I tried to access Application Server Control: http://localhost:6688/em. A page is displayed but it is obviously not formatted correctly. Stepping through the pages, something is clearly wrong. What did I do? How do I fix it?

    I guess this is a bug in JDev - I experienced it too in at least two installations. I hope Oracle fixes this soon - Peter Moskovits, any suggestions?

  • Migrating security settings from embedded oc4j to preconfigured oc4j

    Hi,
    I was able to configure security in my 11g TP3 ADF application, and run it successfully against embedded oc4j.
    Now, when I want to migrate this to preconfigured oc4j, I am getting ERROR:null.
    Please see the steps I follow:
    set CLASSPATH=C:/JDeveloper/j2ee/home/jazn.jar;C:/JDeveloper/BC4J/lib/adf-share-base.jar;C:/JDeveloper/j2ee/home/lib/security-api.jar;
    After that, I run the migration tool:
    java oracle.security.jazn.tools.JAZNMigrationTool -sr jazn.com -dr jazn.com -st xml -dt
    xml -sf "C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\config
    \system-jazn-data.xml" -df "C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\oracle.adfp.seededoc4j.11.1.1.0.
    0.071218.1800\j2ee\home\config\system-jazn-data.xml" -m policy
    This is because, as I mentioned in the earlier mail, the webcenter preconfigured oc4j's configurations are read from the directory :
    C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\oracle.adfp.seededoc4j.11.1.1.0.
    0.071218.1800\j2ee\home\config\system-jazn-data.xml
    and, the embedded oc4j's configuration is read from the directory :
    C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\config
    \system-jazn-data.xml
    However, when I run the migration tool, I get a message ERROR:null. Also, I dont have adfshare.jar, and instead, I have put adf-share-base.jar. Is there something I could be missing here ? Please advise.

    Hi,
    Try enabling java logging to see what the exact error is. That might give you an idea of what the error could be..
    When I tried, I got the below error though I added jps-common.jar, which contains CredStoreResources, into the classpath
    java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find oracle.security.jps.internal.common.resources.credstore.CredStoreResources bundle

    P.S:check the destination file path. Are you sure that's correct. I believe It should be something like ""C:\Documents and Settings\nneelaka\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.adfp.seededoc4j.11.1.1.0.

  • Traffic light icon (start/stop preconfigured OC4J) in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3

    Searched the forums and couldn't find this previously posted. I installed the base J2EE Edition of JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 on Solaris and had the start/stop preconfigured OC4J (Traffic light) icons on the menu. When I installed the Windows Install J2EE Edition of JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 on a Windows 2000 machine and started up JDeveloper, the icons are not displayed in the icon menu. Does anyone know the reason for this?
    thanks,

    Don't know how to delete this post, so I will just reply to it. You can disregard this post. I inadvertently downloaded the J2EE version vice the Studio version. Sorry and thanks! rick

  • Preconfigured OC4J vs OAS 10g R3 for WebCenter

    I discovered that all the example WSRP portlets that are contained in the preconfigured OC4J in JDeveloper, are not contained in OAS 10gR3.
    Is there way to get all the ear files to deploy them on OAS?
    Or any other solution?

    Steve,
    The sample portlets are deployed to the Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.2, indeed. You can access the producer test page through:
    http://<host>:<port>/portletapp/infofor example:
    http://my.host.com:7778/portletapp/infoThe portlets are deployed to the OC4J_WebCenter instance.
    If you're interested in deploying the app separately, you find more information on the PDK downloads page on OTN.
    Hope this helps,
    Peter

  • Issue while running page OC4J start up failed.

    Hi,
    I am working on two instances one is Local and another is in abroad.
    Now when I am running simple Hello World Page by giving Local Instance connections The page is loading quickly and running fine.
    Now when I am running the same Hello World Page by giving Abroad Instance connections The page load is taking almost 9-10 mins and running fine.
    In the above cases what might be the issue with Abroad Instances for loading page.
    1) Is it the Network Issue?
    2) Is it the OC4J Issue?
    Can anyone breif this senario and how to over come this issue.
    And one more Issue is
    Took the remote desktop of the Abroad Machine Installed JDeveloper in it and while running the Hello World page the Message OC4J start up failed is getting popedup in the Message.
    In which cases we will get OC4J start up failed error.
    Thanks,
    Krishna

    I am working on two instances one is Local and another is in abroad.What is your application release?
    In the above cases what might be the issue with Abroad Instances for loading page.
    1) Is it the Network Issue?Could be one or more.
    Can you reproduce the issue with other Self-Service pages? Any performance issues with forms?
    2) Is it the OC4J Issue?What about local users who access the same page from the same network, do they encounter the same performance issues?
    Can anyone breif this senario and how to over come this issue.Before investigating the performance issues with the instance/server (which are discussed many times in the forum, so just search old threads for performance tuning and you will get many hits), I would suggest you answer the above two questions to determine whether this is a network issue or an instance/server issue.
    And one more Issue is
    Took the remote desktop of the Abroad Machine Installed JDeveloper in it and while running the Hello World page the Message OC4J start up failed is getting popedup in the Message.
    In which cases we will get OC4J start up failed error.What is the error?
    Thanks,

  • Oc4j starting with Oracle Database & oc4j App Server on same machine

    Hi ALL, can anybody help me(pls read this)
    This is Sagar, i have created a GIS Application(java) using Oracle 10g.
    Senario I:
    oc4j server and oracle 10g Database Server on different machines:
    When i start oc4j server with NO. OF Mappers = 64 or 30 in DNS using
    1. oc4j -start (normally)
    from the path c:/oc4j/bin by setting ORACLE_HOME path normally
    application is working fine but when users are increased say 4 to 5 oc4j server gives error:
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java Heap Space
    I searched for this error i found a solution for starting oc4j as follows:
    2.Java -Xmx1024m -Xms1024m -jar oc4j.jar
    from the path c:/oc4j/j2ee/home --- oc4j.jar
    Then map & application works fine and fast since heap space is increased to 1GB (speed is noticable)
    but if...(in other senario)
    Senario II:
    oc4j server and oracle 10g Database Server on same machine:
    if step 2: is used form above senario, oc4j Server does not gets started only it gets initialized...(server does not gets started)
    but Step 1: is used application works fine but again heap space error as mentioned above is seen.
    Again if changes are made in oc4j.cmd file in c:/oc4j/bin ....by giving the heap space command oc4j works fine but the application(performance) is very very slow but heap space error is not seen.
    Please can any body suggest the solution.. application should work fast and also the heap space should be increased but taking the senario - oc4j App Server & Oracle 10g Database Server on Same machine..

    Hello,
    How much RAM do you have on the machine? What is the size of the SGA for the database you are using?
    if step 2: is used form above senario, oc4j Server does not gets started only it gets >initialized...(server does not gets started)What do you mean by this? Provide the output from the server when you start your server.

  • Oc4j install error

    10g is installed on my machine, i want to install mapviewer (quick start) and make it work ! in order to run mapviewer, i have to install oc4j, first of all, and start it.
    i'm following the readme file instructions combining with spatial user's guide.pdf and following error is what i have succeed to do so far:
    D:\oracle10\product\10.2.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\home>java -jar oc4j.jar
    Error opening registry key 'Software\Oracle\JInitiator\1.3.1.9'
    Error: could not find java.dll
    Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
    as it seems, i don't have jInitiator installed (first of all and not the last), so where to find it?
    as it concerns java 2 runtime env. following version of java 2 platform standard edition is installed: 1.5.0. (build 1.5.0_04-b05).
    thanks a lot

    hi Steve and thanks for reply.
    this is the only environment variables (%path%) concerning java:
    D:\oracle10\product\10.2.0\db_1\jre\1.4.2\bin\client
    D:\oracle10\product\10.2.0\db_1\jre\1.4.2\bin
    no other env variable about java exists.
    i have just installed j2sdk-1_4_2. is this one ok to be added to env variables:
    C:\j2sdk1.4.2_10\bin
    about jInitiator: i have an icon shown in control panel, but when i click it, it says:
    The system cannot find the registry key specified:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\JInitiator\1.3.1.9
    does this mean jinit is not installed on machine or somehow reg key was deleted?
    if i download jinit13118, will this one be ok to install it?
    when i say 10g i mean database, i haven't installed app server yet. i'd like to run mapviewer as standalone. but i'll try also with app server.
