Webcenter Services inside adf Template

Is it possible to insert webcenter services (like search or documents) in a site template? So instead of inserting services in every page, it would be inside the template and load in everypage that included the template. I´m using Jdev 11g. Thanks!

I think it should be possible. Just try it :)
Create a template and drop a webcenter taskflow on it and see if it works :) Nothing will explode if it doesn't work :)

  • WebCenter Sites : Consume Web Services and apply templates

    Hi,
What is the best approach to consume Web Services or REST Service with Sites?
The idea is to consume some eServices personalized for a connected user and apply different presentation templates for those services to add to Sites pages.
    Any Best practices here ?
    Regards
    Jo

For consuming SOAP services inside a delivery template, there used to be the webservices:invoke tag but it was deprecated in version 7.6, and was generally not recommended to use anyway. There are no new tags for consuming SOAP or REST webservices, customers asking to do that are generally advised to reuse the existing libraries and write their client code in java, for example directly in an element/template or custom tag that you use in elements/templates. For performing simple REST queries you could use ics.ReadPage or httpclient.
Sites (was CS) comes with jars for handling SOAP and REST services, such as saaj, xmlbeans, jaxrpc, and jersey. You can use these, but if you run into bugs or limitations with the provided versions be aware that upgrading these jars may break Sites. And similarly, upgrading Sites may change these jars and so break your client code.

It seems that problem is caused by af:query or quickquery component(or underlying view object or view criteria).
Maybe you can drop BTF as static region directly to your page and see if this will run correctly?
YES i have try stll does not work
So then this is not related with "npe when using popup inside adf table column"

  • Use ad service inside a folio

    Hi guys,
I'm working with Google DFP as my ad service, and i was wondering if it possible to imply an ad tag inside a folio.
I've targeted an ad on DFP and opened-up InDesign; opened a new project, add the DFP script, locate a container that will wrap the ad and save the project.
When I've tried to upload the project to the cloud, an error message occurred (see img attached).
So... is it even possible to use 3r'd party ad service inside folios?
if so - what have i done wrong?

    Hi Daniel,
As per the latest documentation :
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12844_01/doc/bip.1013/e12187/T421739T434255.htm#3503342
There is not such XML element to call a webservice method.
Nevertheless you can still do this either:
    - Create a store procedure in DB and within this proc call the webservice method, then you can call this procedure/function within your SQL statement in your data template.
    - Or create a java servlet and from within this call your webservice and finally in your data template call the URL that invokes the webservice using the URL element.
Just some ideas to get around what you want.

  • While consuming Fusion CRM web service in ADF mobile throwing an error

    Hi,
I am developing ADF Mobile using JDeveloper

While executing CRUD operations with these web services
in ADF mobile app, I am getting SOAP response as *Error in getting response
    and got result nothing *.
And also noticed as using JDeveloper ADF mobile App, unable to create URL service
Data Control - REST based for FUsion CRM web services. Where as I am able to
create SOAP based web services data control. It' strange or surprise.
Did anyone face the above problems. Kindly let me know any suggestions or

    Dear Frank,
Based on below links, Fusion CRM also supports REST also apart from regular SOAP Web Services.

(For e.g one of linked in profile :http://www.linkedin.com/in/minalkhodani , many teams are developing using SOAP & REST)
Designed and developed integration services using SOAP and REST web services for Oracle Fusion CRM Marketing Modules.)
When creating URL based data control, getting an Error as "Forbidden" , (Does it mean NOT SUPPORTED??) . Kindly advice.

  • Developing Business Services with ADF BC

    Hello all,
I was following the tutorial at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/bslayer/bslayer.htm#t2s5, which is Developing Business Services with ADF Business Components
AND i was wondering if i could add a custom validation that would: prevent the user from entering a Gender IF the credit limit is greater than 400? Is this possible? If so, could some point me in the right direction
    Cheers

    Hi,
    you have two options:
    1. add the validation on the ADF BC model using a method validator. This would compare the two attributes and throw an exception if the business rule is violated
    2. Use a ValueChange Listener on the credit limit field (in association with a autosubmit=true setting on the field) to enable the gender field through a Partial Page Refresh. To programmatically refresh a field using PPR, you create a binding of the component to refresh o a managed bean using its binding property. Then you call
    AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(<component reference here>)

  • 10.1.3.1 : Developing Business Services with ADF BC tuto issues

    Hi,
I was doing a learning session at my office based on the 'Developing Business Services with ADF Business Components' tutorial : http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/bslayer/bslayer.htm. The topic Creating ADF Business Components > 9 shows how to create EOs, VOs, AM and the corresponding UML diagram.
    When using JDev 10.1.3.1 :
    * the diagram is not generated as expected,
    * the java domains are not created from DB domains.
    Under JDev 10.1.3.2 :
    * the java domains are created from DB domains,
    * the diagram has been generated on 1 out of 3 computers.
Any clues on what's going on or any known bugs ?
    Thanks,
    Seb.

    Hi,
Today in 10.1.3.1 the diagram generation just works. It seems the keepResident extension was causing troubles as the exception stack trace mentioned its name... I just removed it.
But still, the domains are not generated as expected. I've made several tests even in a fresh installation of JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.

  • SMARTFORMS :How to print an inernal table inside a template cell?

    Hi all,
I have a smartform which contains a template.
I want to print inside a cell of the template the content of an internal table.
Is this possible ?if yes , how to do that ?
    Thanks.

    Yes, it is possible.
Create inside your template a loop. Then create inside a text which you address as i.e. row 1, column 1 of your template (cell address).
Now when looping through your table it will place all data in some work area .i.e wa. In your text provide name of the components you want to dispaly i.e. &wa-comp1&.
Please note, that length of your template must be long enought to fit all tables entries.

  • Service file under template folder missing

    Hai,
We have installed ITS 6.2 in  a machine.  The templates folder of AGATE does not have service files like BWSP, PZ transaction.
I think after installation standard service files should be in templates folder. Correct me if i am wrong.  Is there any procedure for the Basis team to publish the all the service after installation. .
Please let me know what is the procedure(or configuration) which basis has to do to publish all service files provided by SAP.
    Thanks & Regards,
    H.K.Hayath Basha.

    Hai,
We have another ITS 6.2 server also in which the templates for the service files are under templates folder for example:
    D:\Program Files\SAP\ITS\Development\Template
Under this templates we have folders with name BWSP, PZ01, PZ02...
We have another new installation of ITS 6.2 patch 26 in another machine, the folder structure is
    D:\Program Files\SAP\ITS\Development\Template
Under this template folder I am not able to see folders like BWSP, PZ01, PZ02.
I am development consultant, in the previous installation I don't know what Basis did to publish the templates for BWSP, PZ01 and PZ02 under the path,
    D:\Program Files\SAP\ITS\Development\Template
In the new installation my Basis team member doesn't know what the earlier team member has done to publish the templates for service files.
Please let me know what is the procedure to publish the service file as templates in ITS server.
    Thanks & Regards,
    H.K.Hayath Basha.
Service files in the templates folder? For sure, you can make this, but
I would recommend to use the correct folder. The structure of the ITS folders
has not been changed, as far as I know.
Another good idea: Read the documentation or use your preferred search method
    for finding files like webgui.srvc

  • How to display content without using webcenter services - task flows?

    Good day!
I wanted to create a portlet where I can display and update an xml content retrieved from UCM Content Server. How can I do this without using taskflows (webcenter services)?
    Thanks in advance!
    Keith

    Hey Keith,
Since you are already using the getResponseAsString() method you have your GET_FILE call working. To get the xml file as the file itself you need to instead call the getResponseStream() method. This will get you an InputStream representing the response.
Once you have the stream you can do the following (I assume you are on a jsp page or somewhere you have access to the HttpServletResponse):
    String contentType = serviceResponse.getHeader("Content-Type");
    InputStream xmlInputStream = serviceResponse.getResponseStream();
    OutputStream outStream = response.getOutputStream();
    response.addHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename=myXmlFile.xml");
    response.setContentType(contentType);
    StreamUtil.copyStream(xmlInputStream,outStream,true,true);
    The runthrough:
    1. get the content type of the file coming back form the GET_FILE call
    2. grab the file as an InputStream
    3. get the output stream representing the response
    4. add a header to the response to trigger the "download file" dialog
    5. set the content type of the response
    6. copy the input stream to the output stream to send the xml file to the browser
    Notes:
-StreamUtil is part of the RIDC jar
-use Content-Disposition = inline to tell the browser to try and render the file in it's window if it can.
    Hope that helps,

  • SMS Web Services Using ADF BC

We would like to implement SMS web services using ADF BC. Could u please help us to point us to the right path to start this. The SMS web services will send the logs, errors or exception generated by Oracle ADF based application to mobile phones. The recipient of this is an IT administrator or those who will maintain the application.
Aside from the software architecture, what are necessary technical implementation or hardware infrastructure needed to implement this? Is the Oracle wireless already integrated with the Oracle 10g AS?

Are you already familiar with ADF BC and just trying to implement a web service with it?
I'm not familiar with what special facility an "SMS Web Service" would need. If you can implement it as a simple java class, you can implement it as a simple java class that uses ADF Business Components for sure.

  • How to create Services in ADF

    Hi ,
I have requirement to create independent services in ADF , which when called, independently complete the tasks of putting or fetching data from the Database., irrespective of the page defs from where it is called.
For example a Look up service,
It should take the Identifier to be looked up and return the arraylist list of values matching the indetifier.
When I am using this service on a button on my pages, I do not want to bind the page with the iterators(view objects)/ service methods bindings. It should be independent.Possibly a std POJO object instantiation.
I want to isolate the Page from the underlying services implementations used, the primary reason for doing this is that the implementation have to change dynamically including the datasources with which thy interact.
