WebDynpro Methods help for objects in ABAP editor

Hi,
is there a possibility to see the methods that can be used by an specific object?
For example which methods I can use with the object wd_this.

Normal ABAP is process oriented, where is OOP-ABAP is a new methodology in ABAP which uses object oriented programming.
we have C++, java, C#, etc as OOP languages.
ABAP has also implemented the OOP technology.
it uses classes, methods and interfaces instead of functiongroups and function modules.

Yes we can access the classes of JAVA in ABP.
This is posible from version ECC 6 onward with NETWEAVER atrhcitecuture.

Search help for OBJECT ID with Text Description for a query

I need to create search help for the field object text in HRP1000 - P1000-STEXT table in an infoset based on LDB PCH. Can anyone help me? I want it to appear on the adhoc query screen.

Release the lock for objects in ABAP webdynpro

Hi All,
I need to release the lock of certain objects during the application close(When the user closes the browser)
Can I release the lock of the objects other than the method WDDOEXIT method. If yes please tell me how?
The reason being WDDOEXIT is not called during the close.

I think the bigger question is to why WDDOEXIT is not called. What you describe is exactly what WDDOEXIT is designed for. This is the part of the phase model that is fired when the session times out or the browser closes. This should work for just this purpose.

PCH: Value help for Object ID

Hi Experts,
I have a question regarding Logical Database PCH.
We know LDB PCH is OM based and we have default "Object ID field " and "Reporting period field " at the selection screen.
I have kept "Reporting period" as "Key date" 31.12.2010. I wanted to select an Org unit from the "Org. Structure Search" at the ""Object ID field " value help . But I can see the "Org. Structure" corresponding to "Today's date" all the time.
For eg: Org unit 1111111 was delimited on 01.01.2011. I wanted to se the Org. structure for 31.12.2010. So I put the key date as 31.12.2010. Since the above org. unit is delimited on 01.01.2011, it was expected to see in the Org. Structure at the "Object ID" value help . But unfortunately, it is not displayed, since the Org. Structure is shown based on Toda's date.
If anybody comes across such a scenario, please provide your inputs .

There is a search component that can be used for this purpose.
This is one function out of several. I don't have the complete implementation at hand but this will give you the first idea.

Search help for field in ABAP Query

Hi Experts,
For a particular field in standard table the search help(F4) is not maintained in the table level, which is used in a ABAP query.
Is there any possibilities for user-defined Search help using InfoSet or Query?
Please help me in this regard.

Hi Bala,
I understand your question better now. Since you mention standard selections I assume that your InfoSet is based on a logical database instead of a table join, direct read, or custom data retrieval program. You are correct that the AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE REQUEST logic I mentioned earlier will not work for the standard selections of a logical database. The system gives you an error when generating your InfoSet if you try to use the standard selection name (in ECC 5.0 at least). I've tried various tricks to attempt to get it to work, but so far no luck.
You could, of course, use a different logical database as your InfoSet basis (e.g. VAV has a matchcode on VBAK-VBELN) or create your own data retrieval program and change your InfoSet to use the custom program instead of a logical database. In the second case you wouldn't need to deal with standard selections at all. I understand that these solutions are probably not what you need and, in the case of the custom data retrieval program, would be more complex (it may not be worth it to write a custom program just to allow F4 help... or maybe it would be... just depends).
Please keep us updated if you find a way to do it. I'll also report back if I happen to discover a way.

Creating Search Help for Web Dynpro ABAP (FPM) Forms

I am very new with SAP HCM P&F with FPM form. I am stuck with field search help functionality in FPM form. I have created on search help using
Web dynpro component to get all travel requests for all employees and linked it to FPM form field and its working fine....
But.... my requirement is how to filter travel request based on the PERNR (employee number) field in FPM form.
I think it can be achieved by using importing parameter LISTENER of interface IF_WD_VALUE_HELP_LISTENER but I am clueless how to pass PERNR to this interface to get travel requests for only employee number in field PERNR.
Kindly help me out in this issue.

SAP help for release-dependent modifications

Hi,
I like to know the addition features of ABAP depending on the Version. I know you can find them in the SE80 using the F1-help. Unfortuantely I don't have a system with current release level available at the moment.
Is there another possibility to access this F1-help provided within the ABAP-Editor in order to receive all necessary information on release updates.

I could not find the ABAP f1-help for the command which might in clude the release changes. Does anybody have an idea where to find it.

Services for Object in VF02 & VF03

Hi All,
Attaching a document through "Attachment list" option by the "Services for Object" icon in VF02. however some options are grayed out. Please read through for the explanation of the problem.
1) Go to transaction VF02.
2) Input a billing document and press Enter.
3) Click on "Services for Object" button and a dropdown list opens which has the following options -:
a. Create
b. Attachment list
c. Private Note
d. Send
e. Relationships
f. Workflow
g. My Objects
h. Help for Object Services
However the option "b" and "e" (i.e. Attachment list and Relationships) are grayed out. Can anyone please help on how to activate the above mentioned options. Is it done by BASIS team. Please help.
PS: "Services for Object" icon is found exactly BELOW the "Enter" (green tick icon in the top left) button.

How to control button "services for object" which appears in cv01/02/03

Hi Gurus,
In tx cv01/02/03, I get a button at the top of the window called "services for object", which gives me options as ....
Create------(attachment/note/external document/Store business documents)
Attachment List
Private note
Send (Send object with note/Object outbox)
Relationships
Workflow
My objects
Help for object services
With the help of this button I can even attach documents in CV03 tx. through create attchment.
Can we control appearance of this button according to the transactions?? e.g. in CV01 and CV02 it should appear, but in CV03 it should not allow to create further attachments.....

Bevel and emboss for object, not text

Is there a way to apply a bevel to a shape that I created in Photoshop and "placed" into Illustrator? I know I can add the bevel in Photoshop, but I'm wondering if there's a way to do it in Illustrator as well.

As mishbah told you , that there is no hard and fast rule for reporting throught webdynpro.It all depends on client requirement .Now if you want to develope alll the reports by using webdynpro without your clients request , then you need to explain the advantages of webdynpro reporting above abap reporting.
for e.g. Webdynpro reports can run on browser, They can be posted on portal, Easy handling and maintenance and reusability.
Other than this i guess if you can show some business profit to the client, then i think every client would like to go for webdynpro reporting.
