Webdynpro or VC IView refresh

Hi,
I would like to know how to refresh iview for every 1 hour using WebDynpro programming (Java) or is there any other method that we can do from portal.
Also if I use VC for same requirement please let me know how to refresh iview for every 1 hour.

You can use the UI element named TimedTrigger to refresh your page with a certain amount of delay in seconds. Just add one TimedTrigger element in the view you want to refresh - set the "delay" property with number of seconds you want - 3600 for your case. It should automatically refresh the page. You can also bind an action with this element to do some specific operation on each refresh.

Column 1 has a Webdynpro iView with drop Down content say
Google
Yahoo
Column 2 has a URL iView with Google web page
Now when User selects Yahoo In the Drop Down of webdynpro iView
The Column 2 iView needs to change to Yahoo web page
and when the user selects Google in the drop Down the Column2 iView needs to change back to Google web page.
The webpages needs to opened in the second iView area. i.e Column2 iView
you can change the URL Dynamically using forcedURL method and it is working fine if I try to open in external window.

Webdynpro ABAP based Iviews personalisation

Hi,
Can you please confirm if the right click +control option to personalise the iview method could be used for the iviews created out of webdynpro abap as well. or this method is only applicable for webdynpro java based iviews.

Hi,
Kiran is right, you have certain approaches for personalization/customizing a WD4A. In the link he pointed you to, there already are two of three: End user Personalization and administrative Personalization (sap-confiq-mode=x). However, I advise you to use the way of component and application configuration as these are valid system-wide. Administrative Personalization only is valid client-wide.

Who can tell me how to find the leave request Webdynpro for ABAP iview

Hi,Expert,
As I know Portal only has Webdynpro for java iview for leave request iview in the past.
but someone tell me SAP portal has delivered some new standard WebDynpro for ABAP iview.
I have a requirement to create a employee role for new Leave Request service created by WD ABAP . Under Content Provided by SAP in Content Administration, I couldn't find the iView assocated to the leave request except the Java one. Is there have any Employee Self-Service Web Dynpro ABAP workset ?

The business package for ESS based on Webdynpro for ABAP is available only for ECC 6.0 EHP5.
If you are on EHP5, you may choose to use this version of the BP.

Iview refresh or reload in EP6, where did it go?

We have JCO iviews that return production numbers. Our production control guys on the plant floor have come to use this as a tool in day to day operation. We are just about to go live with EP6 now and I can not find a way to have these iviews refresh automaticly.
In EP5 in the iview editor on the load tab is the client side options. I have the check box checked to reload iview to retrieve up to date results and set it to whatever minutes they need.
I can not find anything like this in EP6. Is there a way to do this. I can't believe that SAP would take this away too!

If we put the tag in, the information in the iview will time out, but we also need it to reload information back into the iview.
An exapmle that we have is an iview that shows production informaion on cabinets ordered, ready for production day, in pipeline being produced and packed for shipping. When the iview starts, it grabs that information and shows it in that iview for 5 minutes and the reloads the informaton. In EP5 we added that information in the properties of the iview, via the portal. The infor would time out and reload with no user input.
This is what we need for EP6. The reload part is the only thing we do not have.

WebDynpro JAVA Application iView

i m creating WebDynpro JAVA Application iView
in the iView Type i select "create one iView for each application view"
and then for testing i select
sap.com --> acc_admin_welcome -- > com.sap.acc_admin.welcomeApp --> WelcomeApp
when i click on the next button it gives an error
"To continue, select at least one application view"
how do i rectify this error

in an Java WD iVIew you can set up the two application coordinates to allow the use of your object.
Select you System (i.e. SAP_LocalSystem)
Therefore you must set:
Development Component Namespace: sap.com/cc_admin_welcom
Object / Name Application: WelcomeApp

Firefox 2.0 - Problems with Webdynpro and HTML iviews

Hello all,
We have implemented the SAP Netweaver portal 7.0 SP 10. Everything works fine on IE 6.0 and 7.0. When we tested it on Firefox 2.0, we encountered the following problems:
1. The links on the detailed navigation area are missing
2. Web Dynpro applications dont work very well. Eg: Clicking on "Next" button does not take you to the next view, OVS does not work etc.
3. SAP transaction iViews(HTML) don't show up at all.
Although the <a href="https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001936242005E#391,7,SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) Browser Support For End Users and Admin Functionality">PAM</a> indicates that Firefox 2.0 is supported for Webdynpro and HTML iviews, I am not sure why this is happening. Can someone help?

Webdynpro for ABAP iView personalization not sticking?

We are currently on EP7 and are having a very odd issue with ABAP Webdynpro iView personalization.
For our Java Webdynpro iViews, we have used iView personalization quite a lot to change field labels, add text, change button text, etcc. all via portal content administration (ctrl+rightclick to make changes from iView preview). These changes would show as custom iView parameters settings on the Java Webdynpro iViews. Then we could put these iViews into our own portal packages and move them to other portals (QA, Production, etc).
However, this is not working quite right with our ABAP Webdynpro iViews. We personalized an iView on our DEV portal. The personalization changes showed just fine for all users (ie. changes to input field labels). However, no new parameter settings show for the iView for the personalization. Also, after packaging, exporting and then importing the iView into the other portals (like moving from DEV to QA), the personalization is gone. We had to manually recreate this on the QA system. However, we do NOT want to do this on the production portal of course nor do we want this to be the method/solution going forward.
So has anyone seen this? Is this some issue/difference between the ABAP and Java webdynpro iView templates?

If it is WebDynPro ABAP iview, if you do the personalization, then your personalization is persisted in ABAP stack. You need to transport it in ABAP i.e R/3 development system to R/3 Quality system. Transporting only iview is not enough.
Note : If you do the personalization for the ABAP iview, it will not be saved in the portal, it will be stored in the ABAP stack.

WebDynpro for ABAP iview

Hi All,
In my client portal there is no iview template of type "SAP WebDynpro iview" .
I created one from the list of PAR templates of type com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.WebDynpro
and embedded it in a webdynpro proxy page
i have given the following parameters.
Application
Application Namespace
configuration name
platform 'webdynpro for ABAP'
WebDynpro client 'plain HTML'
system
But at runtime when i login with the end user it gives a blank page.

What happens when you try to test the same application you put in the iView from SE80. Sounds like the developer of the application might have forgotten to embed their default view in the window. A very common mistake on older support packge levels before the workbench started embedding the default view automatically.

NWDS WebDynpro views are not refreshing after changes in layout...

I'm using NWDS 7.0.13 and every time I'm modifiying a webdynpro view in layout mode the view does not refresh, instead I get this message:
This program cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.
Retype the address.
Go back to the previous page.

In order to display the changes I have made, I have to close the WD View and re open it, the funny thing is my other team mates can change their views and see their changes inmediately without closing/opening the view.. hope anybody can help me out on this one..

Hi Armin, thanx for your answer and effectively I have installed IE7, I read other posts and after reading the "solutions" I rather close and open my WD views insted of removing security patches of IE.. I guess I'll have to wait until SAP fixes this and meanwhile I'll work the way I just mentioned.
I'll let this question unanswered until this fix comes out.

Change in Webdynpro ABAP(FITE_EXPENSES) iView standard code in Portal.

We are on EP 7.0 with ESS 1.2 and MSS 1.0. In Backend R/3, we have applied EHP2 for Webdynpro ABAP screens. In travel & expenses -> Create Expense report we have a requirement where we need to put our logic for calculation of receipt amount based on no of travel days.
for E.G. For a particular Expense type the amount per day is 100. While creating expense (Enter Receipts portion) user selects this expense type and based on no of days the receipt amount should get changed. For 4 days the amount would be 100 * 4 = 400. We need to code this logic in the standard Webdynpro Abap iView for Create Expense Report(FITE_EXPENSES).
Can I get some pointers for this change.

Your requirement can be fulfilled easily. Have you tried hiding a button or a field or label in simple iView same is the case in your FITE_EXPENSES hiding scanned receipts button. What you can do is attach a super user to a HR user having a pending expense report to be created. Through content administrator you can preview mytrips and expenses iview in that go and click on create in tab ALL MY TRAVLE REQUESTS for expense report then on scanned receipts button right click -> user settings -> hide button.

Abap Webdynpro & Adobe Interactive Forms : Refresh Context

We created a Abap Webdynpro program to fill an Adobe interactive form. When we read the first time the data the form context is filled and displayed. When we read other data then the form is not refreshed. This is only the case when the form is enabled as interactive.
When we use 2 views then everyting is ok. But we want to place the form in an Embedded View, then we have the same problem. Is this a know problem ?

We faced a similar Issue. We could get past it by chaging the view property to "When Visible" for both the embedded view & Main view.
Try & letme know if it works. We are trying to solve some other issues aroind this right now. Only the checkboxes dont get populated the second time we go to the view having Adobe form. Rest all data on form is refreshed. But not the Check Boxes.

ESS webdynpro personal information iView SSN field

Dear Support,
I am working with Personal Data WebDynpro iView (sap.com/essuspdata/Per_Personal_US) in EP 6.0 SP18 and ECC 5.0. Currently, the SSN field is editable. How can I disable this feature. Please advise.

Webdynpro vs URL - iViews

What is the difference between WebDynpro iView and URL iView pointing to a WebDynpro application? any advantages? disadvantages?

IMHO, for general WD apps, there'd be not much differences in using a URL iView vs. a WD iView. However, a WD iView is supposed to provide a better integration between your WD app and the SAP portal environment; plus, you'd have better control of your apps through the application parameters, etc.

where Jochen mentioned one of the main differences between the NW04 WD iViews and the new NW04s WD iViews ("Using NW04s Webdynpro iViews", p.8). If I understand correctly, this would also be one of the main differences between the URL iViews and the NW04s WD iViews when it comes to running WD apps in a portal environment.

[HELP] Webdynpro Abap application keeps refreshing on Portal

Hello Gurus,
Im facing a really annoying and weird problem, i've created a screen exit on the transaction IW21, on this screen i have a custom container, and im using the class cl_gui_html_viewer to show off a webdynpro abap application on this container. If i access IW21 via SAP GUI everything works fine, no problema at all. But once we've published this transaction IW21 on Portal something very weird happened, the webdynpro application keeps refreshing on every action done in the screen. I've entered on debug mode to verify if the program is performing the code to create the html object again, but the program pass in the perform only once. An example: when i click in save the program pops a screen to choose some characteristics and i can clearly see the webdynpro application refreshing under this screen, like if i press F5 on browser. As i said everything goes pretty much fine in SAP GUI, but in Portal keeps refreshing.
Anyone have any idea how can i solve this?
