Webdynpro ABAP based Iviews personalisation

Hi,
Can you please confirm if the right click +control option to personalise the iview method could be used for the iviews created out of webdynpro abap as well. or this method is only applicable for webdynpro java based iviews.

Hi,
Kiran is right, you have certain approaches for personalization/customizing a WD4A. In the link he pointed you to, there already are two of three: End user Personalization and administrative Personalization (sap-confiq-mode=x). However, I advise you to use the way of component and application configuration as these are valid system-wide. Administrative Personalization only is valid client-wide.

Change in Webdynpro ABAP(FITE_EXPENSES) iView standard code in Portal.

Hi,
We are on EP 7.0 with ESS 1.2 and MSS 1.0. In Backend R/3, we have applied EHP2 for Webdynpro ABAP screens. In travel & expenses -> Create Expense report we have a requirement where we need to put our logic for calculation of receipt amount based on no of travel days.
for E.G. For a particular Expense type the amount per day is 100. While creating expense (Enter Receipts portion) user selects this expense type and based on no of days the receipt amount should get changed. For 4 days the amount would be 100 * 4 = 400. We need to code this logic in the standard Webdynpro Abap iView for Create Expense Report(FITE_EXPENSES).
Can I get some pointers for this change.

Dear Hayerk,
Your requirement can be fulfilled easily. Have you tried hiding a button or a field or label in simple iView same is the case in your FITE_EXPENSES hiding scanned receipts button. What you can do is attach a super user to a HR user having a pending expense report to be created. Through content administrator you can preview mytrips and expenses iview in that go and click on create in tab ALL MY TRAVLE REQUESTS for expense report then on scanned receipts button right click -> user settings -> hide button.

Integration of webdynpro abap custom iview into standard ESS/MSS portal

Hello all,
Could anybody please throw light on how to integrate custom iview which is developed in Webdynpro ABAP into standard tab in MSS (Webdynpro java)
For example.I want to add few custom fields(which are mapped to infotype 0041) into general information link of MSS.these fields will be created in webdynpro abap.
or.
I want to create a new link under general information which pops up as a custom iview (which is create in webdynpro abap) .
please let me know how can i meet the above requirements.

I am not really sure about your requirement. With my limited understanding of that , i think that you have few possibilities.
1. You can let the ess/mss application communicate with WDA application via a Poral event.
2. You can enhance the ESS WDJ component and use RFC destination to get the data from info type and build your own view in WDJ.

Webdynpro ABAP from enterprise portal

Hi,
We have an portal which can be accessed from internet through webdispatcher. Now we have developed certain Webdynpro ABAP based based application in (R3). The WD ABAP iviews are been created on portal. But we are not able to access this application when portal is opened from internet.
The R3 is not available on internet. So how can we manage these thing so that Webdynpro ABAP can be accessed from internet?

First of all let me clear few misconceptions created from above replies.
1. You dont need public IP address for your R/3. All you need is R/3 should be accessible to webdispatcher.
2. While opening ABAP Webdynpro/ITS iviews through portal, its not portal which is trying to communicate with backend. Its the browser who does this. You can see this through http trace at browser.
It is due to 2 that your ABAP webdynpro are blocked. Bcoz no one will open R/3 to internet. Probably its blocked at firewall. Its a security issue.
For ABAP WD,
Browser > Webdispatcher > R/3.
This is how it is designed.
This is very common problem and you will find many discussions in sdn regarding this.
You can either convince your security team that R/3(ICF) should not be blocked. For which they would never agree.
Another option could be create a virtual host at R/3 and create webdynpro services(ICF services) in this virtual host and specify this virtual host in your webdispatcher.
Another expensive option could be create a Webdynpro runtime engine(WEB AS ABAP) where webdynpro applications should run and they do an RFC call with R/3. I am sure security ppl would love this.
It becomes Browser > Webdispatcher > WD runtime >(through RFC) R/3.

Sort negative amount in webdynpro ABAP (EHP5)

We ahve recently installed EHP5. We are now re-implementing Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) with the new WebDynpro ABAP MSS iViews.
We have the following issue: one of our column in the compensation planing iView displays positive and negative amounts. the problem is that when we sort this column (ascending or descending), the negative amounts do not appear in the correct order. This is an example how it comes:

the numeric content of the relevant columns is interpreted as 'String-like' and sorted in that way, i.e.
the digits of a number are compared to the digits of another number from left to right. This leads to wrong sorting results as the amount of digits a number consists of is not equal for each number within the same column. Usually issues like this occur if the function module which supplies the content marks the column as sortable (COLTYPE = 'SORTABLE' but only table COLUMN_CONTENT is filled. Columns marked as SORTABLE which don't contain content that can be sorted 'straight foreward' by
comparing the characters of one column entry to another from left to right MUST supply a second table SORT_COLUMN_CONTENT which contains the content converted in a sortable way. In your case table SORT_COLUMN_CONTENT must be filled with the numbers enriched with leading zeros, i.e. 000009270000 instead of 92,700.00 which is the 'display value'. please check if correct SORT_COLUMN_CONTENT is provided.
If this is the case,
Otherwise please provide correct SORT_COLUMN_CONTENT Further Information about sorting of columns can be found in the Configuration Guide for the Object- and Dataprovider on the Service Market Place (http://service.sap.com/mss).

Reading & writing from MS Excel files in Webdynpro ABAP

Dear experts,
We have a requirement to read and write from an MS excel file in a Webdynpro ABAP based application. The application would be deployed on WAS (Web Application Server) which is running as part of SAP ECC on UNIX platform.
What is not clear is
1) If we store the MS Excel template on the server which has UNIX, will the file be recognised for reading/writing programmatically in Webdynpro ABAP? If this works, we have a requirement where the end users will download the excel template and upload the same after filling data into the excel file. The data filled into the excel has to be read and updated in the SAP backend (ECC).
2) There is an article on "Modifying Excel using WD ABAP" at the following link

But again it is not clear whether this approach will work on Unix based SAP server (ECC WAS).

I don't know if there is an application in Unix that can read Excel files - if that is what you are asking. However that has nothing to do with this forum. If you are uploading the file to ABAP using Web Dynpro ABAP, then it doesn't matter what Operating System the server is running on. Unix, Linux, Windows - all the processing is done in ABAP and is OS independent. The actual reading of the file in ABAP involves reading either an XML or Text Tab Delimited version of the Excel file however - if you read through the links on manipulating Excel in ABAP.

Calling Portal iView from a WebdynPro ABAP application

I have a requirement where I need to call an iView in my portal from the Webdynpro application also existing in the portal.
Can anyone provide me the method with source code( if possible ) to call an iView existing in the portal from the WebDynPro ABAP application.

Well, I think you can go for Portal Navigation concept.
Please check the required source code in WDR_TEST_PORTAL_NAV Web Dynpro component. That will illustrate both Page based Navigation and Object based Navigation.

Anonymous user Unbale to access an WebDynpro ABAP iView

Hi,
I have developed an application using webdynpro ABAP and integrated that into portal.
For this webdynpro application i have to create an iview, assigned it to a page, assigned this page to a custom role. I also set Authentication to anonymous for the page and iView. Assinged the custom role created to anonymous Group.
But while running it i am getting an error "An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator. Exception ID 04:55_25/10/11_0047_14739050"
When I checked the log, it shows the error as "Deprecated scope of type SERVERSESSION_AT_LEAST_ONE_APP_SCOPE is used! Please replace the usage of scopes with new
mechanism based on "Cross application session communication API".
I also checked the note 1031159 and changed the configurations accordingly but getting the same above error.
I am on EP7.3 version.
Please guide me to move further successfully in showing the webdynbpro abap applicaiton to anonymous user.

I'm also working on EP7.3 and R3 WD4A integration. But I just can't find any WD for ABAP from whithin EP7.3 wizard.
I tried to create the WD4A iview by right-clicking a PCD folder and then "New"->"iView"->"iView from remote source" to get a search screen. I choose a system alias (point to bk web as), use "*" as application id, and pick "WebDynpro for ABAP" as the application type.
However, I always got "Nothing found. Change your search criteria."
I did do some activation work on backend R3 SICF setting. I'm able to directly access web dynpro via http://mywebas.domain:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/mywd....
If you're using the same scenario, please let me know anything I missed or any other special setting.

Hello Lakshmi,
I dont think this is possible. If you want to differentiate from which iView your web dynpro application is launched, then you can pass some constant as Application Parameter in the iView. and in the web dynpro application you can read this parameter and perform your required logic.
For example suppose say your web dynpro application is hosted in iView1 and iView2. In both the iview properties, pass a parameter (say IVIEWNAMe) with values 'iView1' and iView2 respectively.
then in the Webdynpro -> Window Controllers' -> default event handler method, you read the parameter IVIEWNAME and based on the value you can peform your logic.

Customize Webdynpro ABAP iViews (EhP2)

Hi All
From EhP2, SAP is providing ESS business package in webdynpro ABAP. I am about to customize the iViews like hiding some columns, input fields etc. I am able to do it through personalization, but I want it to reflect to all users. So far in Webdynpro Java ESS iViews, we could use Ctrl+right click to do this kind of customization locally, but this is not working with WDA ESS iViews. It would be great if any of you could provide me with some information on this.

Since you have said ECC5, I guess the ESS should be based on Java iViews and control + right click should work. I was in teh ECC6.0 EPh2 and it was ABAP iViews and to customize it you have to follow the procedure as I have said. let me know if anyting.
If you are using Java iViews, and ctrl + right click does not work, one thought strikes me that you may not be provided with appropriate permission.

WebDynpro ABAP iView not opening in new window

Hi,
   I have created an iView for a WebDynpro ABAP application and I am having a link in a home page from where the iView should open in a new page. I have set the properties "Launch in new Window" and "Show open in new window option" of the iView but still it doesn't open up in a new window.
    Can someone suggest me what's going wrong?

   I think, I have set the properties of the iView right. I have tried with all the options for the property "Launch in new window" property of the iView but it didn't work.
   "By home page framework" I mean that the link of the iView in portal has been created using the "Home page framework" i.e. from "SPRO" transaction in the backend.
   Please let me know if you need any other input from me.

WebDynPro ABAP iView not picking Portal Theme stylesheet

Hi,
We are facing issues in integrating the WebDynPro ABAP application in Portal . The WebDynPro ABAP iView is not picking the portal theme. It is picking its actual color.
We are in EP 6 SP 14.
Can anyone let me know what can be the reasons.

Hello,
for the web dynpro for abap application you can create a application configuration. To create the configuration
right click on the application -> create/Change Configuration -> and once you create the configuration, it will open up in browser and you can see 2 tabs structure and parameters
In parameters tab you will find an option Force Use of External StyleSheet check the box and save the configuration. Once done with this process.
Go to the iView Properties of the applications and set the application configuration name and it would take the Portal Theme.

Iview for Webdynpro ABAP application with TimedTrigger

Hello,
I created an IView for a WebDynpro ABAP application. This application uses a UI element TimedTrigger. Without portal integration this TimedTrigger works fine. Inside an IView this TimedTrigger element does not work anymore. Did anyone have a similar problem? Does anyone have a solution for this?

How can we call it using Absolute navigation or Relative Navigation.
