WebDynpro output and translation of texts

Hi,
I use the VC combined with WebDynpro output.
Does anybody know how to translate texts at runtime, because the way described here (Translation Worklist): http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/25/08174082fe1961e10000000a155106/content.htm only works for the Flash output!
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Enrico Lenk.

We would need more information. The texts that have to be translated, are those e.g. table-headers or the data in tables itself?
For both things it depends on whether your backend system has the texts in other languages and if your user passes the language to the backend.
The translation of texts as described in the document that you mention, is just for metadata like button texts, header texts etc. and this is valid for Flash and Web Dynpro.

  • OTR Documentation and Translation

    Hello,
    we use OTR to define texts for our web dynpro application. I found a documentation, which says that OTR texts can be changed via transaction SE61 and translated via transaction SE63. But this documentation seems to be not up-to-date, because documentation says also that texts have to be released.
    We have NW2004s, SP12. Is there an acutal documentation for documentation and translation OTR texts?
    Is there a possibility to generate a worklist with all OTR texts via transaction SE61? If yes please provide me with an explanation. Or is transaction SOTR_EDIT the only way to change OTR texts?
    How can I find OTR texts via transaction SE63?
    How is the procedure for the employees, which are responsible for documentation and translation?
    Thanks in advance and kind regards,
    Dagmar

    Hi,
    there used to be a work list for OTR texts in SE61 several releases ago, but sadly it is not availiable any more. Therefore, it's best to use SOTR_EDIT.
    In SE63 you can find OTR short texts via <i>Translation -> ABAP objects -> Short texts -> A5: SOTR</i> . For OTR long texts choose <i>Translation -> ABAP objects -> Other Long texts -> A5: LOTR</i>
    Here you can find information on setting up translation:

    And here's the link to the documentation on <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/77/5719d2492011d1894a0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm">translation tools</a>

    I have a PDF with a diagram, I need to translate the text so I open it in Illustrator.  The document opens up vertically oriented  I try to put it horizontal to be able to read and change the text  However everything I have done is not working  The artboard does change, but the diagram stays vertical.....Please help  I need to finish that for today..Please help

    A PDF usually consists of one to an indefinite number of clipping masks inside each other.
    You need to be very carefull with selecting stuff.
    So you need to read the manual on how to select stuff and on the basics of Illustrator.
    On top of that: because of the complex hierarchy of PDF files, it is kind of difficult to help you without seeing anything.

  • Executing a native process and getting the text output

    Hi,
    I have the following problem.
    When I execute a native DOS process (lets say a batch file), and
    expect some text output from this process I use the following code:
    String command = "test.bat";
    Process process = runtime.exec(command);
    BufferedReader rd = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(process.getInputStream()));
    String s = new String();
    while((s = rd.readLine())!=null) {
         out.println(s + "<br/>" );
    The problem is that as long as rd.readLine() does not return null, the page does not display the result. When the process crash, sometimes nothing return.
    I would like to display the output as it comes, i.e. line by line.
    I have no clue on how to do that except writting the output in a text file, and reading the text file with a page that reload every x seconds.
    I do not beleive this is a good solution.
    Additionaly, I may have a huge output. It seems to make the process
    to hang. Is there a was to fix it.
    Could someone give me some hints.
    Regards,
    Arnaud.

    I am having the same problem...did you ever solve it?

  • Mass translation of text Symbols,Selection texts and Structures

    Hi,
    As per our Project Requirement we need to  maintain Mass translations for Text Symbols, Selection Texts and structures.
    Can anyone please provide a Tool or a solution through which we can maintain these translations without doing it manually
    through SE63 transaction .
    I have all the Translations maintained in a (.xls) file.
    Is it possible to provide this (.xls) (This .xls has the Original text and the Translated text) as a input and get the translations done.
    I would also like to know in which table these translations are maintained.
    Please help me with this.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    There is no standard tool as such.
    You can use below technique to develop your own tool.
        READ TEXTPOOL 'Program name' INTO i_source LANGUAGE 'Language'.
        DELETE TEXTPOOL 'Program name' LANGUAGE 'Language'.
        INSERT TEXTPOOL 'Program name'  FROM i_target LANGUAGE 'Language'.
    Thanks,
    Vinod.

    Hi
    You can use the cocept of text module for language conversion.
    go to
    adobeforms
    use of text modules in adobe forms.

  • The bullet list, numbered list and the normal text is not converting when I am converting from RH 9 to MS Word 2010

    Hi all,
    Greetings for the day
    I am created a new CSS in Robohelp 9. I have also created a new template in Word 2010. The style sets for different information elements like (Heading, bullets, body text, ) are more or less same between the CSS and the new templates. I am also able to map the .css styles to Word template when I am converting from RH to Word as I am getting the necessary option in the drop-down list.
    However, when the output is generated, the bullet, the numbered list and the body text is not converting at all. The body text works sometimes. However, the numbered list and bullet list is coming out as images.
    If anybody knows the solution, I can share the .css and Word template.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Parag Deb

    Create a new project with two or three topics containing lists of both types. Generate a printed output that shows the problem. Then zip it up and send it to me. See the Contact page on my site for instructions.

  • Sun Studio 11 do not parse make output and create link to file?

    Hi,
    Running Sun Studio 11 and can only get file links in the output window when I run a make command that uses CC -g (debug option). We have integrated other tools into our make system (flexlint, cppUnit..) and even though we make sure that the syntax is exactly the same as the compiler output and matches regular expression under tools->options->building->make settings->error expression, it doesn't work. Why do you have to debug compile to get sun studio to create a file link in the output window? Doesn't sun studio just parse the text from the make command?
    example of flexlint output for which no link is created:
    "/vobs/project/oss/fm/fm4/fm-fmalib/fmbal/fmaaulib/src/FMA_List.cc", line 440: Error 84: sizeof object is zero or object is undefined'
    example of make debug output for which we do get a link:
    "/vobs/project/oss/fm/fm4/fm-fmalib/fmbal/SunOS5.10/inc/FMA_alarm_record.hh", line 1310: Warning (Anachronism):Info "static" is not allowed and is being ignored.

    I'd second Maxim's suggestion: try NetBeans 5.5 with C/C++ Development Pack. The official release of NetBeans C/C++ Development Pack 5.5 has happened a few days ago. You can download it from
    http://www.netbeans.info/downloads/all.php?b_id=2284
    Some of the changes between the beta3 build and FCS are:
    * Significant performance improvements in the code parser resulting in faster results in the Class View and Code Completion
    * Programs now run in an external terminal (system dependent) by default. This allows better input control
    * Significant performance improvement in the debugging module
    * Significant functionality improvement in the debugging module
    * New project type "C/C++ Project From Existing Code" which simplifies creating a project from existing code
    * Macro support in code completion
    * Hyperlink navigation for macro usages and #include directives
    * Reformat code
    * Code folding
    * Code completion
    All these features will appear in next Sun Studio release, so you can
    consider NetBeans C/C++ Development Pack 5.5 as a preview of new
    Sun Studio IDE.

  • How to translate the text dynamically in the program?

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where I need to translate the text dynamically in the program based on the Language Key retrieved.
    Let's say that the Login language is 'EN' and in the logic has retrieved the language 'IT'(based on some conditions). I have to transate the text(which is maintained using the text elements) to ITALIAN(IT) Language and send the same as an email.
    Could you please tell me if any Function Module is available in SAP which translates the text Dynamically in the program. or is there any other way to translate the text dynamically in the program.
    Could you please share your valuable inputs? Thank you in advance.
    Thanks & regards,
    Paddu.

    you could use SET LOCALE LANGUAGE myLanguage - so you can switch to the desired language and all texts will selected from that language.

  • How to translate the text according the  SAP logon

    Hi Friends,
    I have a report, in the selection screen have 4 radio buttons which characters are displaying in German language , if logon in DE.   But not populating in other language (English,  French , Italian etc ).
    Whenever SAP login in  u201CENu201D , is  displaying an  Information message u201CUntranslated texts from master language DE wi  also be displayedu201D.
    Please guide me how to translate the text according the  SAP logon.
    in GOTO-> Translation -> Original language  "DE"  and traget language is empty.

    Did you try transaction SE63?
    Translation -> ABAP Objects -> Short texts, select object type S3 and either REPT or SCRT, probably REPT since it's a selection screen.

  • Script to tracert multiple computer names and find specifc text

    I'm looking for a script to tracert multiple servers and find a specific text in tracert output and get output as csv.
    Below is what I have:
    @ECHO OFF
    FOR /F %%S IN (SERVERS.TXT) DO (
    ECHO %%S >> OUTPUT.LOG
    TRACERT %%S | Findstr "firewall -f-" >> output.log
    Above script gives below output:
    server1
      4     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  site1firewall [10.2.2.1]
    server2
      4     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  site2firewall [10.2.22.1]
    server3
    I want to tweak this script:
    1. Verify if server is alive/accessible before running tracert
    2. Output in table format (in single line)
    Can somebody help?
    Thanks.

    The code does exactly what you asked for:
    It writes the machine name to the output file, without a CRLF.
    It writes the output from the tracert command to the output file, with a CRLF. When the tracert command generates no output (because it cannot reach the target machine) then it writes nothing, not even a CRLF.
    You must now add some code that distinguishes between responding and non responding machines, e.g. by pinging the target machine
    before issuing the tracert command.

  • How do I copy and paste Chinese text into InDesign CC?

    I am having difficulty copying and pasting pre-translated Chinese text into InDesign.
    Many of the characters are coming up as boxes in the majority of Chinese fonts offered in CC.
    马修斯旅游大巴租赁公司
    爱尔兰和英国之旅
    translates as
    Font used above is Apple LiSung
    I have tried to import via Apple Text Edit and format stripped the text.

    That's happening because you have Simplified Chinese text, and are attempting to use a Traditional Chinese font.
    Ellis suggests a well-made Adobe font with Trad support. If you pull down your font dropdown and scroll towards the end, you'll find fonts split into categories according to language support. The one with Apple LiSung is the Simplified category, and the one with Adobe Fangsong is the Trad category. Pick any font from that category - but know that the style of font you pick in Chinese means as much as the style of font you pick in English, and if you don't know what the conventions are, you may well choose one not entirely suited to your audience. (One of my translators likened the Chinese font choices of monolingual Anglo designers to "seeing the body text of my How To Use Your Health Care Benefits brochure laid out in Rosewood.")
