Webi 4.0 Passing parameters - how the heck ! does it work or not ?

dear all
i am knew to all this, quite capable of reading manuals, and an ex ABAPer in SAP.
but when it comes to trying to pass a single parameter to a Webi report, based upon the new open document v4.0 syntax, it has finally got me.
it seems i am not alone either.
this works, and opens the webi with the full contents

i have tried both, a "new parameter" and a universe parameter, based upon my dimension "State", with no such luck on the underlying webi query filter.
i thought i would only have to add "&lsSState=VIC" (no including the quotes), for it to filter my records for the state Victoria (no points for guessing where i am). But no. I still get all the same old records.
then i tried *District=VIC", still the same old records without applying the query filter.
so what am i doing wrong ! please ! help !

finally, here's the deal
the opendocument 4.0 documentation is wrong. the parameter values are separated by at semicolon, and not a comma. also, do not put square brackets around them.
this works

Spell Check in New Forums- How The Heck does it work?

Can somebody please tell me how the spell check works in this new forum format? I click on the abc icon and it does nothing. I do a two finger click on a word that is misspelled and it give me Insert Options. I really like the new format but hate the spell check. Can anyone offer advise? Thanks.

The built-in ASC spell checker is -- to put it kindly -- quirky. First, you must turn it on using the 'abc' tool on the right in the editor toolbar. (When it's on, it highlights.) But it won't stay turned on if you click on the tool before you enter any text -- it will just tell you that no misspellings were found & won't stay on. It also sometimes fails to check the last word if followed by a space. You can tell it to ignore misspellings, but you can't tell it to learn words because the spell-checking dictionary is actually on the servers running the site, not on your Mac or PC.
But from your remarks, you probably aren't even using the built-in checker. Instead, I suspect you are trying to use the far superior system-wide one built into OS X. The problem with that is the ASC editing tools are powered by Javascript supplied by the Jive SBS software running the site. Because that is platform independent it doesn't know anything about OS X's contextual menu (which includes suggestions for misspellings, the Dictionary lookup, & so on).
So to make a long story short, what happens when you try to right click on a word the OS X checker has underlined in red, instead you get the Javascript's response to a right click, which brings up the editor's insert/alignment popup menu instead of the OS X contextual menu.
The solution is to control click on the word -- believe it or not, within the ASC editor window a right click & a control click are not the same thing! You literally have to hold down the control key on the keyboard when you click to bypass the Javascript's right click response.
To make things that much more confusing, this only applies if the pointer is not over empty space in the editor window, which in this case excludes lines that have any text on them, including invisible text like spaces or returns. (To see what I mean, drag the tab at the bottom right of the editor window down so there is a lot of empty space below what you have typed. In this empty area, right & control clicks both bring up the OS X contextual menu, but anywhere in the text you have typed, they behave differently.)
In short, the problem is not that Apple has changed how the buttons or clicks work, it is that the new software that runs the site (not developed by Apple) does.

How the heck does datasocket work?

I've been playing with the example vis DSReader & DSWriter, and reading docs all weekend. The only way DSreader finds the data from the DSWriter (on another machine on the network) is if I give the reader the IP of the writer machine. dstp//localhost/wave works when both apps are on the same machine but there's no network traffic at all according to ethereal whether the apps are on the same machine or not. I thought, from what I read, was that any machne could find the data through the URL, but no. I want multiple machines to broadcast and receive and all share the data. The docs say this will work but I really can't see how from the examples. I have been using the UDP functions for years with no problems but I can't make this work even per the documentation. What am I missing? Love Labview, not happy with this.

communicating locally using TCP or UDP do not create networktraffic. This is because the data is never really sent out in the network. Only the IO buffers are used. So the connection should show up if you use something like a network sniffer. Even the DOS-prompt command netstat shows the datasocket-connection on port 3015 (dstp).
So the only thing you have to make sure if using dstp in a network (so not only local) is that the dstp-port (3015 by default) is not blocked by any firewall or used by another application.

I've been having problems with Firefox 4.0 locking up pretty much since I installed it. I did add a few add-ons and all I can think of to do is to remove them. I can't figure out how to get rid of them.

Well, When I click on Add-ons I don't get a list of add-ons. AN Add-ons tab opens which shows lots of other great add-ons but I can't get a list os ones that I've installed and have no option to remove. I'm on version 4.0. Maybe the "remove" as described is for an earlier version?

How the Heck does this software work? I am so frustrated!

I followed the instructions and imported my videos into the adobe premier elements organizer. .
I see all of the videos in the organizer. I then added the videos to an album. THIS IS WHERE I GET STUCK
Question is what do I do from here. I right clicked on some videos and chose EDIT WITH PREMIER ELEMENTS.
The software then opens up another screen which is all blank and pretty much every thing that I try to click on is greyed out.
Once I import my videos HOW DO I EDIT THEM. PLEASE HELP

As for where to go from there, you will need to create a New Project, and choose the Preset, that matches your AV files 100%. If you do not know the full specs. that you camera shoots, the great, free utility, G-SPOT, will give you everything that you need. What camera was used to shoot the Clips?
I'd use the Timeline View Mode, and then just drag the Clips to the Timeline, where you can Trim them, shuffle them around, add Effects, and Transitions to suit.

How the heck does one change one's email address in the Control Panel

I know this is the wrong place to post this but I don't know where the right place is!
In about a week I am changing to a different broadband provider and the email address I have associated with these forums will no longer be valid. Obviously very easy to deal with - just go to "Your Control Panel" and change the email address ! I must be missing something because I can see my email address but cannot see any way to change it ! What am I missing?

What a wonderful bit of software this forum software is.My +5k post count did not make it through the migration;
When the migration guidelines said you have to use the same email address in the old and the new account I just changed the email address in the old java forum account to be a current email address, then signed up to the new forums with that... They could have said it must be the email address you used when you originally signed up in the old java forum - but that was back in '98 and I probably did not have access to that when the migration happened...
I don't particularly care about the post count, but as my old posts are not linked to my account it makes it difficult to search through them...

Launching a page by passing parameters in the URL

My app has a page sentry function that sets the APP_USER using the Apache mod_ntlm module to the Windows domain user. I check security for each page in a custom table that I maintain.
If I try to launch a page by passing parameters in the f?p= URL like
f?p=100:1:::::P1_ID:10
since I dont have a session yet, the page sentry generates a session for me and redirects to the page (100:1), but I lose my parameters (P1_ID)
How can I preserve the entire URL in this case?

My debug table has 8261051781657854662
When I inspected session state for 2458638498649564102 using Workspace XXX>Manage Workspace>Session State Management>Recent Sessions>Session State
it had no entry for FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL. All it had was

I dont think there is any direct way to achieve this.
There is a work Around which can be achieved with help of abap.
You need to write ABAP routine to get the selection values from user and store them in the table TVARVC.
Then you need to write a routine in the DTP filter to fetch these values.
In the ABAP program where you get the values, you can trigger the process chain once the values are entered for the selections using an event,

My requirement is i need to display a link in the email message, so that user can click it and can navigate to a form in oracle applications.

I am able to display the form which the user wants, but they want the form to be queried with a value. so can anyone help me to how to pass parameters to the above url.

I achived the same thorugh workflow. In the workflow define a attribute of type form and then pass the formname, applicaiton name, resp name and any other form parameters to it.
You can mix forms personalization to achive best results.

Passing parameters into the Oracle form

I want to pass some paramaters into the .fmx file which i invoke through the applet. like say, in the following line
serverArgs="module=abc001.fmx userid=user/pwd@dbuser useSDI=no"
i want to pass parameters in the following manner:
serverArgs="module=abc001.fmx(param1,param2) userid=user/pwd@dbuser useSDI=no"
since one cannot pass parameters to a .fmx file before invoking it, it does not seem possible.
But is there a sort of a workaround? A java wrapper for oracle forms?? so that i pass parametrs to the java class and it passes this info to the form.
i need to pass these parameters because these param1,param2 are the username/password for my oracle forms-based application which implements its own in-house user validation logic and i need to display the menu in the applet based on the user without prompting him for this application username/password

In the form FNDRSRUN which is the Standard Request Submission form there are parameters CHAR1-CHAR5, NUMBER1-NUMBER5, and DATE1-DATE5. I was wondering if i populate the parameter NUMBER1 with my value how can I access this parameter when the form is brought up. This is more of an applications setup issue I will be creating a function that calls the FNDRSRUN form this function will force this form to use a single request not a request group. In the request setups there is a parameter. When I set up the request parameter I have to select a value set and then for Default Type I can select Constant, Profile, SQL Statement, or Segment and then I have to give a default value. Can I default this parameter to use NUMBER1 or another parameter in the FNDRSRUN form.

Make sure your own music files are saved in the proper folder (Digital sounds) whether in your memory card or the phone memory, the location should still be:
Sound Clips > Digital Sounds.
If your songs/mp3s are saved anywhere else, it will not show up as a selectable ringing tone.
You can move your songs through File Manager on your phone if they are in the wrong location (Options > Move to folder).

I just want to make sure I don't allow information about me that is not necessary. I just want to listen to music and have a phone and have an ipad.
Everything else about apple is way to propriatory. I don't want to do anything that isn't very simple.
Most importantly, there never seems to be any (human being) that can answer a telephone call anymore.
Contact us, means...send us an email about something you don't know anything about, and I don't even know that questions to ask.

Go to your music library on itunes, click on the box in the top-left corner of your window that says Music, once you do this there will be an option to click on movies, click on it, and then there will be a little bubble near the top of your window that says rented, click on the bubble, and that will take you to your rented library.
Note: For itunes 11.0.1 and up.
