Webi Bypassing BEx Authorization Variable with SAP Exit

BEx query has Hierarchy Node Variable with Authorization as processing type. Its set as User Input ready
When the Webi report is refreshed, the LoVs appear as per the Authorization. However, if user doesn't select any value (pushes from right to left in variable screen) he gets NOT_AUTHORIZED error. Which is not intended, it should check the authorization in the background via SAP exit and populate the result. This is how it runs inBEx query.
However, in Webi it's giving NOT_AUTHORIZED error? This is how the product is designed to work or is it a bug.
I see several forum threads and SAP KBAs/notes but they are not answering my question. Could anyone please help.

Hi,
this is how authorization variable would work in any of the clients and not just Web Intelligence.
You created an authorization variable which is configured as "read for input", so the user is getting prompted.
So In Web Intelligence the LoV shows up.
if the user does not select a value, then you are not sending a value, so you basically asking for all data and you are not allowed to see all data and therefore you are getting the message "no authorization".
if you are making authorization variables as ready for input then the user needs to select the proper values - regardless of the BI tool.
if you want the authorization to be check in the background then the authorization variable should be configured to not have ready for input.

I am able to find the current fiscal period ie "0F_CUFPE" which provides the current posting period/month.
On similar basis, I need a FV which provides me the Current Calender Year.
Please note that I do not need Characteristic Variables for Fiscal Year .

If you're refering to the InfoObject 0CALYEAR, there is an exit variable available called: 0CYEAR - Current Calendar year
Which will filter on the current year.

Questions about authorization variable customer user exit

Dear all,
To reduce the authorization maintenance effort, I found from the web that we can use authorization variable with customer user exit RSR00001.
When I use the transaction CMOD to display the maintain the user exit RSR00001, the user exit does not found. I would like to know how can I use thie user-exit?
My SAP version is R/3 4.7
The information of authorization variable from web is as follow:

Firstly, many thanks of your reply.
Actually, what I want to do is to call some user-exit when performing authorization checking. I want to add some logic to the authorization checking and the user exit can be called automatically when performing authorization checking.
I mainly use this checking in the FI module.
Are there any ways I can perform this checking?
One more findings, I have another machine containing SAP XI, I can search the user exit RSR00001. but it doesn't exit in SAP R/3 4.7. Is it version issue or my SAP R/3 4.7 doesn't contain the BI module?

Combine two reports in query designer using key figure with sap exit

i want to combine two reports in query designer using key figure with sap exit
in the report 1 key figure calculation based on the open on key date(0P_DATE_OPEN)
to calculate due and not due in two columns
in report 2 key figure calculate in the time zones using given in variable Grid Width (0DPM_BV0) like due in 1 to 30 days, 31 to 60 days...the due amount based on the open on key date(0P_DATE_OPEN)
to calculate in 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, 91-120, 121-150 and >150 days in 6 columns
now i have requirement like this
not due, 1-30, 31-60, >60, due,1-30, 31-60, >60 in 8 columns
or
not due, due, 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, 91-120, 121-150 and >150 in 8 col

OLAP Variable with user exit for Infopackage Selection 0fiscper

Hi Frds/ Guru's ,
I have a requirement to use a OLAP Variable for Fiscal year period 0fiscper(Characteristic ) in the Infopackage Selection. . I need to extract the data for Previous Year and Current Year , that is to be automatically selected with a OLAP Variable . The standard one's provided by SAP are not satisfying my requirement,as they are getting populated with SAP Exit and I am not getting the ranges .I am planning to create a variable and use the processing type as Customer Exit and Populate it with ABAP code in respective Enhancement RSR00001.
Even Can I create a ABAP Routine ? Please suggest me which is better to do in respect to performance of dataload , will be really glad if anyone can provide some code for doing this as u might have faced the situation sometime .
I have checked with all the threads available , could get some idea but will be really thankful if u gimme some hints in writing the code , at Exit level and routine level .

The variable may be personalized with some value.
To remove the personalization for a user:
Step 1: RSA1 -> Search for ODS 0PERS_VAR
Step 2: Manage -> Contents ->selective deletion
Step 3: Put the user to remove the personalization

Hi Stefania,
to me it looks like your local variable num_mese is not defined with the correct data type.
Try to change
if num_mese = 09 to if num_mese = '09',
same for 10 -> '10', 11 -> '11'.
If that does not help please let me know your coding where you define the type of num_mese (DATA statement).

Yes , you can use a formula variable with customer exit based on characteristics .
Depends on the requirement what you want to show in the formula variable ,
Eg : if you want to show the max fiscal year period , in that case :
create a new formula in the keyfigure section of your query , go to edit , you can see formula variable below the keyfigures ,
right click on the same and create new formula variable :
Write the code for the formula varible in the backend as we do for normal customer exit varaible :

Authorization (rsecadmin) with customer exit variable

Hello,
I need to maintain authorization on 0CALMONTH with a customer exit variable.
0CALMONTH is "authorization relevant"
I created a variable of type "customer exit" : ZVAR001 (this variable is OK, I checked its value in a query)
I created a new authorization object with 0CALMONTH = $ZVAR001.
When I run my query I have a message due to authorization error.
If I change my authorization object by replacing my variable ($ZVAR001) by a constant value I have no authorization problem.
I don't understand why...
Error logs don't help me to solve my problem : I have the following message "Message EYE007: You do not have sufficient authorization" and system just says I have "0CALMONTH I EQ $ZVAR001 " but doesn't precise values under variable ZVAR001

Indeed problem was in costumer exit because I used condition with "I_STEP". Since I have delete my condition I have no authorization problem with my variable....

Termination message BRAIN 632 appears:

Variable with customer exit

Hello,
I have created a query with customer exit variable.this variable calculates cumulative month from the beginning of the year. this variable depends on another regular variable 0PCALMON (single value, mandatory). i also use this variable in the query to show the month itself.
the problem is as follow:
until yesterday the 0PCALMON variable pop up normally, but now the variable doesn't pop up at all!
Does anyone have an idea?

Q: variable 0CWD / SAP exit program code

hi guys, actually i want to create a variable like 'last work day'. my idea is to look up in the SAP-Exit coding how 0CWD (current workday) is being processed. can someone please give me directions where i should start exploring? programs sth. like the custom user exit, or some special function module? have already spent some time searching.

All standard SAP exit variable, have their respective function modules
For example consider standard variable exit 0P_COAPP.
Then in se37 search for RSVAREXIT_* (* = 0P_COAPP).
Similarly we can search for other relevant standard variables with exit. From the description in the search, you can look for the exit that you want.

Before the WHEN statement it shoud have a CASE statement. In the user exit coding place your WHEN statement anywhere between CASE...ENDCASE statement.

Using Java Web Dynpro iViews to integrate with SAP MDM

Hi,
I have already SAP MDM 5.5 supplied iViews with Enterprise Portal.
These include itemDetail iView, ResultSet iView, PicklistSearch, Hiearchy Search.
Now, I am integrating Java Web Dynpro iViews with SAP MDM.
When adding the fields using object of ResultSetDefinition Class, should we use MDM Table Name or MDM Table Name Code/MDM Field Name or MDM Field Code?
I think we should use the CODE as the name as it does not contains any space while working with Java API.

Yes you should use the Field and Table CODE when integrating MDM with any other system using API either Java, Abap or Com api.
Actually this is one of the main use of the code in MDM .In API.
