Weblogic 10.3 standalone/Jeveloper 11.1.1.3 nonfunctional

I have tried deploying several applications from very simple to complex.
I have not gotten any one to work.
All the applications work fine in the integrated environment.
when deploying to the "production" environment - they all fail.
None of the EJBs deploy unless you make changes in the deployment file - which may not be correct (have to use EJB JAR) the default is ADF Library.
The apps all show active and OK in the console - none of them work.
The simplest errors are:
<Oct 19, 2010 11:27:41 AM GMT+03:00> <Error> <org.apache.beehive.netui.pageflow.internal.AdapterManager> <BEA-000000> <ServletContainerAdapter manager not initialized correctly.>
<Oct 19, 2010 11:28:12 AM GMT+03:00> <Warning> <oracle.adf.share.jndi.ReferenceStoreHelper>
<BEA-000000> <Incomplete connection reference object for connection:gamca>
<Oct 19, 2010 11:28:14 AM GMT+03:00> <Warning> <netuix> <BEA-423420> <Redirect is executed in begin or refresh action. Redirect url is /console/console.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=AppDeploymentsControlPage.>
The home page will display - but the links and buttons do nothing.
There are no error messages - I suspect that there are major issues with trinidad in the server.
I am running the latest versions of Jdev and WLS.
I have found several indications that all the documentation available is out of date.
Has anyone out there managed to get a project to work?
Is there any documentation that explicitly covers JDeveloper 11gR2 and Weblogic 10.3 and the steps required to get a successful deployment with EBJs (Pure ADF)?
I have spent over a week researching and trying - this should be a simple, foolproof process - (Netbeans has been doing this well for quite a while - there is no difference between local or remote deployment).

http://win2003s:7001/gamca/faces/Welcome.jspx
or
http://win2003s:7001/gamca/faces/
This is the url to get to the first page.
gamca is the synonym that I used rather that the long context string.
I have defined the pages in an unbound task flow, as as I mentioned - drag and drop a view from the palette into the adf-config.xml.
I have confirmed that it does indeed use the faces-config file
I put a button that did the login and used a simple call to the menu (bypassing the dialog)
The button then works - and the navigation in the menu seems to be OK.
when I remove the navigation from faces-config - the button fails to navigate.
below are the entries in the adf-config - it seems to be in the welcome screen - it tries to navigate and cannot get to the target screen.
ADF-CONFIG.XML:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<adfc-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller" version="1.2">

  • Use DataSource of weblogic in a standalone Java file

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to run a java file at a scheduled time in a day using cron scheduler on our linux server.
    We need to fetch data from the database & perform some business logic in this standalone JAVA file.
    Our application has an EAR which is deployed on Weblogic 10.3 server & in our application, we are utilizing the datasource created in that domain using Hibernate.
    Now, can we create a standealone Java file & use exisitng datasource (without Hibernate) instead of legacy JDBC code to connect to DB.
    Also, do we need to keep this JAVA file a part of this EAR, WAR or can we put the class file in anylocation outside this EAR & then utilize datasource feature.
    Please help on the same in implementation.
    Thanks,

    Hi Ravi,
    I did create Datasource domain & put wlclient.jar in my application classpath (Add jar in Java Build path of application), but, when I ran application, its giving below error

    Also, I'm putting code here as I there is no provision to attach the file here. Please let me know whats wrong here.
    Also, I've given the name of datasource as testDataSource through Admin console of the domain. Do we need to prefix the name with jdbc/ in the code or without that also it works?

    able to achieve the same.
    I've bundled this JAVA in application WAR & depoyed on the same domain where datasource is created.
    Now, how can I execute this file from anywhere on the server using weblogic classpath.
    Please help on the same in implementation.

    If the Java application must be stand-alone you must not deploy it on WebLogic, then WebLogic will manage its lifecycle.
    In this case you can use the CommonJ API and use the timermanager if it must run on a certain time. More information
    of how to do this can be found here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=5569
    If you keep the Java application stand-only and want to use a cron job you can follow the example presented here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=7065
    Note that the example runs a WLST script, but you can follow the same steps to run your Java application.

    Hi,
    ADF applications that use business components need the weblogic-application.xml deployment
    descriptor to be present to be able to work on a WLS.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/deployment_topics.htm#CHDCICJH
    35.4 Creating and Editing Deployment Descriptors
    mentions the need of :
    <library-ref>
      <library-name>adf.oracle.domain</library-name>
    </library-ref>
    in the weblogic-application.xml
    ==> please execute the following steps:
    1. Wrap the WAR file in an EAR file configured to be deployed to a WebLogic server as follows, so that  JDeveloper includes the needed deployment descriptor file:
    2.Right-click the project containing the web contents (usually ViewController), and select New -> Deployment Profile. Then select EAR Deployment Profile.
    3. Enter the name for the application, and then in the EAR profile properties dialog, in the Application Assembly, include the ViewController project, and in the Platform node, make sure Default Platform is set to WebLogic 10.3. Click OK.
    4. In the next dialog box (Project properties), open the node ADF Model, and make sure the checkbox "Contains Data Controls" is checked, and click OK
    5. Now to deploy, right click the ViewController project and select Deploy, then the name of the recently created application deployment profile, and then "to EAR file". This will result in a .ear file, deployable from the WLS administration page.
    Thanks,
    Sharmela

    You may want to open a support case with BEA to resolve this issue. I
              suspect that you may be using some server patches which have not also
              been applied to your WebLogic client JVMs. If that is the case,
              upgrading to the latest service pack may be the easiest and best remedy.

  • Cluster/load balance weblogic using L4 switch like Alteon

    Can I install weblogic as a standalone server on 2 or more server and
              cluster/load balance weblogic using a hardware balancer like Alteon Layer4
              switch (of course I will use a centralised storage to maintain a single copy
              of data which will eliminate syncronizing problem among servers)?
              BTW, Alteon can support persistent binding. The reason to use a Layer 4
              switch is that it is very fast, and this will make the application server
              layer transparent to client, the client can think this is a single server
              (it don't need to know whether there are 5 weblogic servers or 20 weblogic
              servers behind switch), and hardware are more reliable, sacalable and fast.
              I am not sure whether the normal weblogic clustered servers need to
              share/exchange info on the running memory, if it does, this approach will
              fail.

    So My understanding is:
              Alteon with WL 6.0 can do load balancing for:
              entity bean
              stateless session bean
              but can't do load balancing for:
              stateful session bean (will persistent/sticky binding solve part of the
              problem except fail-over)
              in-memory replication
              am I right?

  • Exception while doin a lookup of the WLServer

    I have a problem doing the Look onto the Weblogic server.
    Here is the code I use in a method for this purpose and call the method from main().
    I paste the code below (enclosed within "CODE BEGINS", "CODE ENDS")
    -----------------CODE BEGINS-----------------------------------------
         System.out.println("DataCollector : Look up serverHome called");
         Hashtable props = new Hashtable();
         props.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
         props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, url);
         props.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, userName);
         props.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, passWord);
         System.out.println("Before Inital Context "+props);
         Context ctx = new InitialContext(props);
         System.out.println("Initial Context successful");
         serverHome = (MBeanHome)ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
         System.out.println("Look up successful");
         ctx.close();
         System.out.println("Closed context successfully");
    -----------------CODE ENDS-----------------------------------------
    On executing this piece of code, I receive the following Exceptions
    -------------OUTPUT OF CODE BEGINS---------------------

    This piece of code fails in the line
    serverHome = (MBeanHome)ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
    The weblogic server is standalone (not on a cluster). All other details give for
    this purpose like port no, username, password etc are correct.
    Also, On the WebLogic server prompt, the following stack trace is printed. Please
    let me know what is wrong in this look up code element.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Your server is basically dead!! Try the following:
    telnet <weblogic-server-host-name> <port-of-the-server>,
    Replace the text within <> with the proper values, minus the <> of course! :)
    This should work if the server is accepting connections on its listen port. If
    it waits too long, or returns error that failed to establish a connection, all
    you can do is kill the process and restart your server.
    Even graceful shutdown of the server will not work if telnet to it fails.
    Vivek.

  • Error Error Processing Request. ORA-01403: no data found

    To Whom It May Concern,
    I am trying to install the APEX listener by either using WebLogic or the standalone mode, both to no avail. I went through all the installation steps with my DBA for the DB side of things and we got no error messages. When trying to configure the APEX listener either way, it's simply giving me the error in my post title once I setup my DB connection to the APEX_PUBLIC_USER schema. Has anyone ever seen this before? What is supposed to be in the APEX_PUBLIC_USER schema? When I look at mine it's empty, I see no objects, which seems a little off to me. Any help will be greatly appreciated because the documentation is pretty sparse and the error messages I'm seeing are far from insightful. One final thing to note is that the images seem to be working via the standalone mode, whereas with WebLogic it's not finding them because they're not displaying, but that's an issue I'll work on next as I'd like to first get APEX working with or without the images.
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi,
    I am trying to install the APEX listener by either using WebLogic or the standalone mode, both to no avail.Which version of ApexListener? The installation steps for 1.1.x are different from those for 2.0 EA.

    Have you unlocked the APEX_PUBLIC_USER account?

    Getting to see the Apex pages, even to configure 1.1.x , will not be possible without the images folder.
    Have you seen the ApexListener log file? For WLS it is the WLS logfile itself.

  • About JHeadstart  Basics 0f 10?-

    hi JHeadstart experts,
    good morining to all :)
    here am new bie to JHeadstart. less than a bit i know about jdeveloper/adf,Oracle Forms,Reports in 10g.
    i had some basic question? my brain knocks ask this question to experts explicitliy(no hidden)
    some question may be for you silly. dont igonre that, mention it and reply for that also.
    1.What is JHeadstart?
    2.Current release version of JHeadstart.?
    3.JHeadstart Vs jdeveloper/adf?
    4.Where can i download Jheadstart recent version?
    5.Is this free of cost for development mode?(like jdeveloper)
    6.skills required for Jheadstart.?
    7.Basic tutorials needs for Jheadstart?
    8.In jdeveloper there is Interegrted weblogic server and standalone wls, here jheadstart something like that?
    I go through the "Read this Before Post" not yet documented such basic question as like Oracle Sql/Pl-Sql forums.
    if you documented and hosted in "Read this Before Post" as such people like me it will really helpful for all(Atleast for me)
    9. Forms2ADF- is this means forms10g to Jheadstart ?
    10. "Jheadstart is a generator that creates an ADF application" here i understud somewhat. I expect some more in detail.
    thanks$$regards
    ADF7.

    I'll provide some quick answers as best as I can, though there are others on the forum that might have more detail.
    1. JHeadstart is an addon for JDeveloper (installed through the Help->Check for Updates menu) which allows you to configure and build an ADF web interface without having to build each individual page yourself.
    2. current release is 11.1.1.3, which works with JDeveloper 11.1.1.4. (next release currently in testing, no set release, but sometime soon)
    3. JHeadstart uses JDeveloper/ADF, it just allows you to take some shortcuts in building your View/Controller layers. You can extend a JHeadstart app with pretty much anything you could do in JDev/ADF without JHeadstart.
    4. you can get a trial version (with some limitations) from the Oracle Downloads site.
    5. It's not free, you'll have to contact Oracle for licensing details.
    6. Knowledge of the basics of JDeveloper and ADF development. It's useful to have at least done the tutorials for basic ADF.
    7. There is a tutorial (pdf doc) available, also on Oracle Downloads site. It will walk you through building a basic app in JHeadstart.
    8. JHeadstart is an addon for JDeveloper, once it generates your application interface, running and testing that interface works just like any other JDeveloper/ADF application.
    9. Never used the Forms2ADF feature, so can't answer on that.
    10. This means pretty much what it says. You use JHeadstart to define the parameters of the interface you want to develop, JHeadstart then uses those parameters to generate your ADF interface (jspx pages, jsff fragments, adfc-config pageflows, pagedef files, etc.)

  • Cannot find opmn.xml

    Hi

    Issue is I can't find the opmn.xml on both paths. In Dev suite path cannot find the opmn folder as well. But in DB path opmn folder is there but no the xml
    Any particular reason?

    Issue is I can't find the opmn.xml on both paths. In Dev suite path cannot find the opmn folder as well. But in DB path opmn folder is there but no the xmlOPMN is primarily to manage the application server. Useful for all versions of application server (pre-WebLogic Server) EXCEPT standalone OC4J. (Although the N part of OPMN is used in ONS ...)
    For Dev Suite, there really is no need for the OPMN. The OC4J is primarily there to catch forms/reports requests and route them to the forms/reports servers (which are/were written in C, not Java). In dev, you can go straight to those servers.
    For database, the only OC4J is for the DB Control. That is pretty much hardwired and standalone. So again no need for opmnctl.
    I would not expect to find opmn directory nor useable opmnctl anywhere in dev or database.
    I suspect what you want is a full Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 install.

    Well, how did you do?
    I am having a similar problem.
    1) Installed WLS 10.3.5 on a Linux machine
    2) Installed ADF runtime libraries (ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of1.zip)
    3) I can see at deployments
    - adf.oracle.businesseditor(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    - adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    - adf.oracle.domain.webapp(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    - DMS Application (11.1.1.1.0)
    - em
    - emai
    - emas
    - emcore
    - FMW Welcome Page Application (11.1.0.0.0)
    - jsf(1.2,1.2.9.0)
    I created from scratch a new Fusion Web app. It just has 1 ADF read-only table based on the HR.COUNTRIES table. It runs perfectly on the integrated WL.
    I cannot deploy it to my standalone WLS. The error:

    What am I missing here? It must be something obvious, but I am stuck.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Error while deploying ADF application to a standalone weblogic

    jdeveloper version: 11.1.2.2
    Issue: I have built a standalone weblogic server (10.3.5.0) and am trying to deploy my ADF application to it. The deployment fails with the following message. The stand alone server I have built is on the same machine where jdeveloper is installed and I am using same weblogic that came with jdeveloper install. The aplication runs fine on integrated server. I have researched this issue and have got more or less same answer of installing ADF run time libraries. Can someone please help me with exactly what I need to install and how?
    Thanks,
    Saurabh.

    Sorry for the wrong infromation. The correct scenario is:
    I have an ADF application, in which I have a Pagelet producer connection, pages and taskflows. This ADF application is inlcuded in a Webcenter Portal Framework application, as a shared library. When the WCF application is deployed on the Weblogic server, the pagelets don't appear on the pages.
    I tried the FRAMEBUSTING context parameter to never but it didn't help.
