Weblogic 10 with UCM 11g - multi instances and clustering

Hi,
We are moving from UCM 7.5.1 to 11g (.5), and I have some questions about architecture:
We would like to have 1 weblogic instal with 3 instances, each instance will be a cluster of 2 machines and each instance will have completely different purpose
(hope that makes sense)
Can this be done? (logically I can see it would)
If the config is different in each CS would I have 3 deployments of the EM and CS applications?
Would I change the deployments names and then apply each deployment to only the correct cluster?

Hi James,
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by instances and machines (an WLS instance is a managed server, and a machine is the host on which the managed server instance runs).
The simple answer is that, if you have different CS configurations, you will need to create different Weblogic domains for each configuration. And each domain will have a different EM application deployment - ie if you have 3 domains, you will end up with 3 different EM consoles.

Hi All,
I have integrated AD with UCM 11g and able to login with AD username/password to UCM application.
The one problem I face, the users of this application are scattered in different OUs in AD. Like OUs are created for different locations and users are present in that OU. I'm unable to select all the users of this application from different OU's.
Like the users are present in below OUs.
OU=Users,OU=America,DC=compnay,DC=net
OU=Users,OU=Canada,DC=compnay,DC=net
In User Base DN - What should i give? When i give any one of the above I get the users properly.
Also is it possible to select users by querying a security group in AD and getting all the members (Users) of it. Because in our application we have only three roles (mapped to the corresponding three security group in AD), and all users of this application are assigned one of that role. So, I could get all the users by querying the security group. But I do not know if that is possible.

Hi Selvam,
Just put User Base DN: DC=compnay,DC=net
This will pull all users from both OU, along with some unwanted entries like computers on the domain. Another, possibly silly proposal, would be to create two Ldap authenticators with different User Base DN. Both should be on the top of authenticators list with Sufficient flags.

How to use RelatedContent component with UCM 11g without Records Management

As the subject really...
I have been playing around with UCM 11g and want to use the RelatedContent component in isolation of URM / Records management.
Can I still do this, and is it supported.
I have had a look at advanced component manager and also the RMFC page but if I select a custom install with only related content I get a whole bunch of RM related stuff in the interface that I do not need.
Any suggestions? Is the old RelatedContent component supported directly on 11g?

First this post is really helpful as I was looking around for enabling related content component in ucm11g.
Now i am able to see it in my enabled component lists.
However , i have one doubt. I have enabled the component and restarted the server. After that if i got the checkin page, i can see only 'wwxRelatedContentTriggerDate' metadata for the related content. My assumption was when I enable the component, i will get a metadata on the content check in page to link to the other content items.
So can you please help me
1) to help whether my understanding is correct?
2) if yes, why am i not getting the metadata to specify the other contents is not shown? what I need to do for the same?

If you know the technique how to create File Cabinets - UCM Commit Profile for 10g, it is almost the same. You may have to upgrade your ODC, though (I have noticed there is a new tab available)

This is setting.is my ldap. Is all setting and suffix is correct or not? In my application when i am running the app, i am getting null as directory object. Please let me kow the right approach.

This is apparently a compatability issue. The version of openLDAP that is available for Windows (the latest I found was v. 2.2.29) does not support "entryDN". However, WL 10.3 requires this attribute to be set (apparently available in openLDAP v. 2.4 and I am told - defined in RFC5020). Instead I converted my code to use the traditional static group. :-(

Problems with JDev 11g using JBOSS and ANT

I'm trying to migrate to JDev 11g with JBoss ( version 7.X ) as the AppServer
With JDev 10g all works fine with JBoss, even the Remote Debug, all OK
here is the problems I have :
1) ANT
JDev doesn't save my ANT settings
every time I launch ANT : Run Ant Target - I must set the Advance settings
JDev 10g I only need to do that once, the settings are saved but not in the 11g, why ?
2) persistence

I can't say many about the ant stuff, but have you tried to put the parameters in a property file and use this to get the parameters to ant?
The reason you can't run the application on WLS is that you have not installed the adf runtime on your wls. The error 'application.xml: [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain, exact-match: false].' points to this.

The integrated weblogic server with jdeveloper 11g is not built successfull

Help with creating a database instance and populating it

the project given to me is to create a database and populate it in berkeley DB. use that as the backend to the Oracle Business Intelligence tool and run some tests.
with other databases like oracle, sybase and teradata, there were user interfaces both GUI and CLI to create a database. they provides sql interfaces for DDL/DML execution to create objects and populate them. basically these utilities helped me do my project successfully. but in berkeley DB i find very minimal utilities and they dont correspond to those provided by other databases.
is there an interface in berkeley db for sql execution

is there an interface in berkeley db for sql executionNo, Berkeley DB does not provide an SQL interface. It is a library that can be used to store and retrieve key/data pairs in a database. The Berkeley DB reference guide is a good place to look if you want to get an overview of Berkeley DB functionality:

There are a number of programming language bindings provided for Berkeley DB, including a Perl binding. So you can write your testing code in the Perl scripting language if that suits you.
If you intend to measure performance I would recommend using the C or C++ APIs to build your application. The best way to become familiar with using Berkeley DB is with the Getting started guides found here:

Or by familiarizing yourself with the example applications that are shipped with the source distribution.

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect SES 10g with UCM 11g? In the certification matrix of ECM 11g it says:

Another related question: I seem to recall that starting from UCM 11g documents are stored in the database instead of on the file system by default. Is this true, and does this also require an 11g database version? I cannot find anything about this in the installation guide.

Unfortunately we're dealing with a Windows stack, and SES 11g isn't out yet for Windows.

Issue with OBIEE 11g Deinstall

Hi All,
While trying to uninstall OBIEE 11g 6.8 (Simple Install), I guess I did a wrong step, by mistake I unistalled Weblogic Server before deinstalling the Oracle Instance and now while trying to deinstall the instance using "Deinstall Managed ASInstance", it gives me an error "INS- Unable to connect to Oracle WebLogic Administration Server" which makes sense because there is no admin server running now without weblogic.
What should I do now ?
1. Should I proceed with deleting the binaries and then manually delete the instance folder later on - If I do this, will I get an error while doing a fresh installation again?
2. Is there a way to install weblogic server again and then I can start again by deleting the Oracle Instance again
I realize that I should have uninstalled Weblogic Server at the end but now I am stuck, can anybody please help me on this?

Ronny , No where you can't install weblogic to start with uninstall again !
just go with the option #1 if it is linux just rm directory should work otherwise delete the binaries, folders manually & environment variables

Yes. SE and the other editions have a migration/upgrade utility, not seeing any mention of that program in the XE license docs. To upgrade to 11gR2 from 10g, the 10g instance must be at patch 10.2.0.2 or higher.
So if you're a GUI dba, might be out of luck. But the the XE install has the catalog upgrade scripts that need to be run, there is a MOS note explaining the manual upgrade steps.
Or set up a brand new 11g database instance and datapump your user schema(s) from the 10g instance to the new 11g instance. The database doesn't care what java version you're using, it just does what its told with the data. DDL, DCL, DML ... its not much different. Quite a few new features in 11g.
But if you're after JVMs that piece is not supported with XE.

Component Wizard is missing in UCM 11g

Hi all,
I'm running UCM 11g on Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter and I noticed that Component Wizard isn't installed neither in DomainHome nor anywhere else.
Search in Windows Start Menu also doesn't bring any results.
Is there any way to install it separately in existing domain or ECM Home?

I actually found the Component Tool, but in:
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_ECM1\ucm\idc\bin
(this has ComponentTool.exe idcCommEnv.cmd, IdcShell.exe, Installer,exe, and a blank (pretty much) intradoc.cfg )
NOT in the ...ucm/cs/bin dir.
Of course when I run that, it fails with a !csIdcNameMissing which makes sense considering that is NOT where the UCM 11g server is and the intradoc.cfg isn;t configured.
ANY ideas how this stuff got installed in different locations from the Standard??

Howto install Related Content component on UCM 11g

I did install URM 11g to test the Related Content component.
Does the component also work with UCM 11g. Are there any special metafields required?
Another problem is that I can't build the Related Content component, cause it is not listed in the URM ComponentWizard.

Yes it does work with UCM 11g
It is a little hidden but can be installed as follows
Admin Server > Component Manager
In the first paragraph click on the link to advanced component manager
THen on the this page find the text
"If you really wish to modify URM components from this page, please click _here_. " and click the link
You should now find that the RelatedContent component can be enabled just for UCM.

Weblogic and Auth NTLM - UCM 11g

Guys,
Has anyone set up Auth NTLN on Weblogic?
We have been upgrading UCM (Universal Content Management) to a new version 11g. We must remain the same setup on UCM 11g. The older version 10g, that we were using a module on Apache mod_ntlm: http://modntlm.sourceforge.net/, but we cant´use this module because the new version runs on Weblogic.
Any idea will be perfect.

I am looking for NTLM´s Auth on the UCM 11g. The idea is: the Weblogic gets and authenticates the credentials of the user and passes to the UCM.
I found this article in the metalink: Step-by-Step Instructions to Configure Single Sign-On with Microsoft Clients [ID 1401327.1], but kerberos is much better than NTLM because the protocol is more secure and softer.
By the way what´s meaning of WNA ?
