Weblogic 5.1 jsp vs. weblogic 6.1 ejb

Hello,
Can weblogic 5.1 jsp talk to weblogic 6.1 ejb? And can weblogic 5.1 jsp talk to
a web service published on weblogic 6.1 via GLUE 2.3?
Thanks.

Hello Shane,

    It is possible to write some messages to weblogic.log from JSP?

    Use weblogic.logging.LogOutputStream class to log messages into
              weblogic.log file.
              javap on weblogic.logging.LogOutputStream
              for e.g
              <%@ page import="weblogic.logging.*" %>

              LogOutputStream los = new LogOutputStream("TEST");
              los.error("Writing into Log file");

  • Display Chinese characters on JSP under WebLogic 6.1

    We've recently migrated from WebLogic 5.1 to 6.1 and we found that all those
    Chinese JSP pages cannot display properly under Solaris, but it works on
    some Windows 2000 machines (but everything work under 5.1).
    However we haven't made any special changes to any configuration in all
    these machines. Why some of them work and some of them doesn't ? Those W2K
    machines work are running English version of Windows 2000, but with Chinese
    character sets installed.
    Our Chinese JSP pages use big5 character encoding instead of unicode.
    I've read a number of messages in this newsgroup but I'm still very
    confusing on how to fix the problem ...

    Hi,
    I have the same problem here. I am using weblogic 6.1 on W2k server. I save
    prpblem from those static contents in the jsp file, but those data in chinese
    from oracle database is working fine. I create a simple jsp file just with a simple
    text "hello world" in chinese, I save one as a html and one as a jsp. When I run
    this two under weblogic 6.1, the html file display correctly but the jsp is not.
    I try "UTF-8", "GB2312" and other charsets but all not working with jsp files.
    Please help.... Thank you.

    Dear Ricky,
    Could you please check the following :
    If you are on Sun Solaris systems please check the LC values of your
    =
    environment as shown in example below.
    This is the cause of many troubles due to the fact that the JVM =
    considers these parameters to encode.
    (example given for Italian display, so I guess for you this will be =
    Big5)
    On Solaris 7 the right settings are=20
    LC_COLLATE=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_CTYPE=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_MESSAGES=3Dit
    LC_MONETARY=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_NUMERIC=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_TIME=3Dit.ISO8859-15=20
    on Solaris 8=20
    LC_COLLATE=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    LC_CTYPE=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    LC_MESSAGES=3Dit
    LC_MOLC_COLLATE=3Dit.ISO8859-15
    LC_NUMERIC=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    LC_TIME=3Dit_IT.ISO8859-1
    Also another point to check is=20
    In All Weblogic Releases :
    You can add the flag -Dfile.encoding=3DUTF8 in the startup line to force
    =
    default encoding in the JVM
    In your Webloigc 5.1 property file
    # WEBLOGIC CHARACTERS PROPERTIES
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./russian/*=3DISO-8859-5
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./utf/*=3DUTF-8
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./french/*=3DISO-8859-1
    weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./japan*=3DShift_JIS
    # FOR ENCODING THE WHOLE SITE IN UTF-8, UNCOMMENT THE FOLLOWING LINE
    #weblogic.httpd.inputCharset./*=3DUTF-8
    In your weblogic.xml's Weblogic 6.1 and later :
    <weblogic-web-app>=20
    <charset-params>=20
    <input-charset>=20
    <resource-path>/japan*</resource-path>=20

    </charset-params> =20
    </weblogic-web-app>
    As you may have noted, the ressouce-path is starting from root, and =
    after you insert the directory where you want to define de encoding.
    This will influence the JVM when performing a compilation (please clean
    =
    the temp directories from any compiled jsps before re-starting your =
    WLS).
    Please reply in the forum is you still face the problem after all these

    modifications.

    We've recently migrated from WebLogic 5.1 to 6.1 and we found thatall =
    those
    Chinese JSP pages cannot display properly under Solaris, but it works=
    on
    some Windows 2000 machines (but everything work under 5.1).
    =20
    However we haven't made any special changes to any configuration in=
    all
    these machines. Why some of them work and some of them doesn't ? Those=
    W2K
    machines work are running English version of Windows 2000, but with=
    Chinese
    character sets installed.
    =20
    Our Chinese JSP pages use big5 character encoding instead of unicode.
    =20
    I've read a number of messages in this newsgroup but I'm still very
    confusing on how to fix the problem ...

    sai.Sai if you are completely new to this on WLS I would recommend reading:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/programming/index.html
    Then Possibly:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/webapp/index.html &&
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/jsp/index.html
    You can also find more programming information here:

  • How to deploy jsp in Weblogic 7.0

    Hi,
    I would appreciate, if anyone can help me out.
    I'm new to weblogic.
    I have installed Weblogic in my system.[vers.7.0]
    i want to deploy my jsp file and run the jsp file.
    can anyone tell me where to deploy the jsp file and how to run it.
    do i need to create a war file to deploy jsp?
    can anyone tell the procedure in doing so...........................
    regds
    venkatraman.P

    use your console to create a web-app from the directory with the web-inf and your jsp. Hit deploy and it should work.
    War files are not necesary, for fast jsp development its even better to not use wars.

  • Urgent. Unable to set up JSP in Weblogic server

              Hi,
              I wish to enable JSPs in the weblogic server. i went thru the bea documentation and
              added the following lines in hte weblogic.properties file :
              weblogic.httpd.documentRoot=XXX (The root directory for the jsps.
              weblogic.httpd.register.*.jsp=\ weblogic.servlet.JSPServlet
              weblogic.httpd.initArgs.*.jsp=\ pageCheckSeconds=1,\
              compileCommand=/opt/java1.2/bin/javac,\
              workingDir=XXX,\
              verbose =true
              After this, i started the weblogic. But apparently, it says that all the above properties are undeclared.
              I am not able to go further on this. Could anyone help me out on this.
              I am working on a HP machine.
              thanks in advance. prashant

    Hi,
              It is really hard to tell exactly what is going on without more information. If all you are using are JSPs, try
              removing the servlet classpath altogether. Put any helper classes into the weblogic classpath.
              Can you get one of the example JSPs working in your environment? This would be a good place to start just to verify
              that your environment is set up correctly.
              Can you post your JSP file that is not working?
              Hope this helps,

  • How to modify JSP on Weblogic without restarting a server

    Hello,
    Could someone explain how to modify JSP on Weblogic without restarting a server?
    We use WL 10.2.
    I search and modify required jsp on a server, but nothing happens on a Web Browser. I run in Development mode.
    Please advice,
    Thanks,
    Yuri

    Hi Yuri,
    As you are in Development mode you have one options to use the Auto Deploy folder which can be found in the following path (domain_name/autodeploy).
    More information on Auto Deployment check the below link:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/deployment/autodeploy.html#wp1021626
    Other option is to use the following parameter "*page-check-seconds*" in your weblogic.xml file
    For more information check out the below link
    Topic: jsp-descriptor
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs103/webapp/weblogic_xml.html#wp1038491
    Hope this helps you.

  • Calling property file inside jsp in weblogic.

    In JSP file, sometimes, we use the following code in the jspInit()
              <%!
              ResourceBundle resouce =null;
              public void jspInit() {
              resource = ResourceBundle.getBundle("resources");
              %>
              The resources.properties is the file to have the name value pair, which is
              easy to get a list of something.
              Can I still use properties file in my JSP in weblogic? where should I put
              properties? is it weblogic\myserver\under public_html ?
              Thank you for any help.

              I mean to say, put properties file in a directory, which is in Java class
              path.

  • ITS BACK!  weblogic.developer.interest.jsp

    Note:
              Depending on your news reader you may have problems subscribing to
              weblogic.developer.interest.jsp
              due to caching issues.
              I use Netscape 4.5. Here is what I did.
              First I tried to subscribe (you have to refresh the list), however I could
              see not messages.
              So I unsubscribed.
              Shutdown Netscape.
              Manually deleted cache files
              pushd "c:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\default\cache"
              del /q *.*
              cd ..
              rm netscape.hst
              Restarted Netscape.
              Re-subscribed and I could then retrieve messages.
              Cheers

  • Upgrading Weblogic 8.1, SP2 to Weblogic 8.1, SP6

    wanna to the code changes that are required in web application while upgrading Weblogic 8.1, SP2 to Weblogic 8.1, SP6.

    I am currently conducting the same type of upgrade. We have Platform 8.1 SP2 installed. We would like to upgrade to SP3, but I was not sure if any patches were required before the upgrade. After several dicussions with BEA Technical Support, here is what I learned.
    To upgrade 8.1 SP2 to SP3, you must first install the following patch...
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/products/wlplatform81/patch/wlplat81sp2_patch.jsp
    ...then use SmartUpdate to upgrade the SP3.
    If you choose to fully install 8.1 SP3, then you do not need to install the patch because 8.1 SP3 includes the pacthes. Installing the patches would make no difference anyway since the SP2 installation would be deleted to make room for the SP3 installation. This option is not an upgrade, it is a full installation.
    Hope it helps!

  • Migrate source from weblogic 8.1.5 to weblogic 9.2

    Hi,
    I have to migrate an application running on weblogic 8.1.5 to weblogic 9.2
    I have read multiple documents on how to upgrade the domain with wizard and with the database.
    But i dont know how to convert the .jpf pageflows to .java pageflows.
    Can anybody point to what wizard/tool i have to use

    Open the workshot, create any workspace.
    then go to import->Other->Select workshop 8.1 application. This will upgrade your code and import you 8.1 app in to 9.2 app.
    Make sure that all page flow JSPs has been upgraded correctly. There should not be any and BEA taglib used for netui tags. They are all changed to Beehieves.
    If you still see that JSPs are using bea tag libs, then select the project, right click on it and select upgrade.
    I hope this helps.
