Weblogic 7 checks for wellformed xmls

Hello,
I am having trouble deploying my applications with WLS 7.0. The error I am getting
is that my web.xml is not well-formed, but I have double-checked everything and
I think it is correct.
I have read that weblogic 7.00 does not deploy an application which xmls are not
well-formed (whereas earlier versions of weblogic would do so).
My question is: against what dtds does WLS 7 check the web.xml, the weblogic.xml
, etc.?
I would think that it would check it against the dtd in the head of the xnl file,
i.e., http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd for the web.xml, is this correct?
If this was true, what about intranet applications that are not connected to the
Internet? could this be the reason?
TIA
Cristina Ceballos

hi,
i doubt your architecture.
u r calling local bean from the client,which is not possible.
your architecture should be as follows.
jsp calls ejb(remote wrapper bean) which internally calls localbean.
or
jsp calls java which calls remote bean.
for calling remote u can lookup as follows
Object objref = initial.lookup("MoveMos");
problem in your code its not able to narrow the home interface.
try changing the architecture.
if u have any problems further reply back
thx,
abdul.

    Document doc = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder().parse(new InputSource(new StringReader(xmlString)));try/catch this ugly line, if no parse exception and a non -null doc exists then your XML is well-formed.
    of course if your XML contains namespaces, you would have to setup correctly the document builder.

  • Check for existing XML element

    Dear all,
    I'm trying to write a simple script first checking to see whether an XML element exists, and then creating it if it doesn't. I've tried editing a piece of code that I used previously to do the same for paragraph styles, but apparently it's not that straightforward. Currently, all I get is the error "Cannot execute the script in target engine 'main'!" Without the checking, adding the XML element based on the search result works fine.
    /* Find all instances of the word "Superscript" */
    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = "Superscript";
    var mySuperscript = myDocument.findText(); // Save search result for future reference
    /* See if an XML element named "Superscript" already exists, and create it if that's not the case; then add it to all instances of the word "Superscript" */
    var myXMLElementSuper = myDocument.xmlElements.item("Superscript");
    try {
    var myName = myXMLElementSuper.name;
    catch (myError){
        var myXMLElementSuper = myDocument.xmlElements.add({markupTag:"Superscript", xmlContent:mySuperscript[i]});}
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    Kind regards and thanks in advance,
    Julian

    Try this,
    app.findTextPreferences=app.changeTextPreferences=null;
    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = "Superscript";
    var mySuperscript = app.activeDocument.findText();
    for(var i=0; i< mySuperscript.length; i++)
        if(mySuperscript[i].associatedXMLElements[0].markupTag.name != "Superscript")
            app.activeDocument.xmlElements[0].xmlElements.add({markupTag:"Superscript", xmlContent:mySuperscript[i]});
    app.findTextPreferences=app.changeTextPreferences=null;

  • How can I check for the existence of an XML file in Illustrator Javascript??

    I'm writing a Javascript to run at startup. I want to check for the existence of XML files and process them, if they are available. How can I check for their existence?

    Your first line just sets a variable to a string value… getFiles() is a method of Folder… so
    var InputXMLDir = Folder( "D:/Brackets/Create_Bracket_Graphics/Input/XML-n-Templates/" );
    Not a PC user so I can't remember if the colon is OK…? As you appear to know the file name why bother with a folder get files anyhow you could just check if the file exists then do some thing…
    alert( File( "D:/Brackets/Create_Bracket_Graphics/Input/XML-n-Templates/brackets_men_web.xml" ).exists );

  • I did the update to 3.6.11 - when it restarted it will not open any pages. When i go to check for updates it gives me this error: Update XML file malformed (200) - Any advice?

    I did the update to 3.6.11 - After it started Firefox it would go to the requested site in the addressbar, but the page would be blank. I went to check for updates and it told me there was a problem in updating. It gave me this error message: Update XML file malformed (200)
    I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same problem exists.
    Any advice?

    For the error message see [[AUS Update XML File Malformed 200]].
    As it appears not to be able to load any sites, a possible cause is your firewall blocking the new version of Firefox. For more details see [[Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can]].

  • Can't uninstall a network installation (Version: WebLogic 8.1 for Windows)

    Hi,
    As described in the above subject, I encountered an error when trying to uninstall
    WebLogic 8.1 for windows, which is installed from another computer (WINXP) thru
    network.
    The installation executes on the remote machine. When asking the location for
    BEA home, I specify a path on a network drive , something like z:\bea.
    (z: is the drive of the computer I want weblogic to be installed. I do this because
    it only has enough space for the final installation, but not together with the
    temporary files)
    It seems that everything goes well, although the links in "Program Files" are
    created on the remote machine only. However, when I want to uninstall it, I encounter
    problems.
    First, when using the "add/remove programs" way, it complained that it was not
    able to find the path to javaw.exe. I paste the full command Z:\bea\jdk141_03\bin\javaw.exe
    -Duninstall.dir="z:\bea\weblogic81\uninstall" -jar "z:\bea\weblogic81\common\lib\uninstall.jar"
    and then it went on. Splash screen and the first wizard screen appears afterwards.
    However, when I pressed "Next", a prompt appeared, with message ":[z:\bea]".
    The same message appeared in console mode uninstallation.
    Is there anyway to solve this problem? Thx!

    Hi,
    I tried to replace all "Z:" to "C:" in registry.xml and re-uninstall again, but
    that doesn't work.
    Actually the thing I want to happen is only to remove the current (and somehow
    faulty?) installation. Is it 100% ok to just remove all the files manually?

    It sounds like the install was done on one machine and you are trying
    to uninstall from
    another. If that is true ...
    Check the contents of the registry.xml file and see if the environment
    variables match
    those of the machine you are working on. In particular, the items that
    specify host
    names and install directories.

  • How do I allow offline use AND check for updates if online?

    I am actually not sure if this is a bug or not, as the behavior changed when I updated from 1.6u20 to u21. I have an application in a single JAR, and a JNLP file. I am testing with Windows 7 64-bit (with both the 32- and 64-bit version of the JVM installed, 1.6u20-b06 on both). The application cache is enabled. Here is my JNLP file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="us-ascii"?>
    <jnlp
      spec="6.0+"
      codebase="http://hidden"
      href="Librarian.jnlp">
      <information>
        <title>Librarian</title>
        <vendor>Vendor</vendor>
        <homepage href="http://hidden"/>
        <description>Description.</description>
        <offline-allowed/>
        <shortcut online="false">
          <desktop/>
          <menu submenu="Vendor"/>
        </shortcut>
        <icon href="Librarian.gif"/>
      </information>
      <security>
        <all-permissions/>
      </security>
      <resources>
        <j2se version="1.6+"/>
        <jar href="Librarian.jar" main="true"/>
      </resources>
      <application-desc main-class="com.vendor.apps.librarian.Librarian"/>
    </jnlp>I am observing the following behavior wrt updates and allow-offline:
    When allow-offline is present:
    - JWS does not download updates to the JAR file when the desktop link is clicked.
    - The application can run when I disable the network connection.
    - The "-offline" switch is passed to javaw in the desktop shortcut.
    When allow-offline is not present:
    - JWS does download JAR updates when the desktop link is clicked.
    - The application can not run when I disable the network connection (HostNotFoundException).
    - The "-offline" switch is not passed to javaw in the desktop shortcut.
    What I want to happen is for JWS to check for updates if it can, and if it times out, instead of barfing, just go ahead and run the cached version. What I can get right now is either no updates + offline allowed, or updates + offline disallowed. However, I can obtain the behavior I want if I specify allow-offline then hand-edit the desktop shortcut and remove "-offline":
    When allow-offline is present but I remove "-offline" from the desktop shortcut:
    - JWS does download updates to the JAR file.
    - The application can run when I disable the network connection, after a short timeout.
    Now, I was under the impression that this behavior is the intended behavior of allow-offline: attempt to download update, on error, silently start the cached version instead. This does not seem to be the case. I actually wonder if this is a bug, as with 1.6u20, it seemed to download JAR updates just fine when allow-offline was specified (I had issues when the cache was disabled with 1.6u20, and so I moved to u21).
    How can I make this work the way I want without having to hand edit the desktop shortcut?
    Is this a bug, or am I misconfiguring (OED says this is a real word!) the application?
    Is there something else I have to do to indicate that the JAR is updated besides just uploading a new version to the server?
    It should be noted that I am not doing any web page magic here, I'm testing by simply downloading the JNLP file off the server and opening it. This is actually my first JWS experience and I haven't gotten to properly embedding it in a web page yet. I do not know if this is significant or not.
    Thanks!
    M

    Well, I solved that quick. I've been staring at it for over an hour but it popped out at me as soon as I looked at my JNLP file in my post here (guess it's the red text, heh).
    All I need to do is set online="true" in the shortcut, and also specify allow-offline, and all works exactly as I want it to. :-)
    Perhaps it was a bug in u20 that was causing it to check for updates anyways even with an offline shortcut... I'm not sure, and I don't have it in me to test it any more at the moment.
    Thanks,
    M

  • Checking Well-Formed XML files with ABAP Mapping

    Hi guys,
    Anybody knows which is the best way to check (well-formed) incoming XML files trough XI?
    I’m using ABAP Mapping and before I check the value of the XML fields I want to check if the XML is well-formed. For this reason I need to know which is the class or classes that I need to use to checking the format of XML using an XSD file?
    That is also possible using a DTD file instead of XSD?
    Which is better XSD or DTD?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Validating XML stored in CLOB without exceptions for malformed XML

    Hello,
    I have a CLOB column that should contain an XML which conforms to a registered XSD schema. However, there might also be cases, in which the CLOB content violates the XSD or is not even wellformed XML at all.  Now I am trying to find a way to either
    identify all records, for which the CLOB contains well-formed XML that validates against my schema (find all "good" records) , or
    find all the other records (those with either no XML at all, malformed XML, or XML that does not validate against the XSD) (find all "exceptions")
    The problem is that all XML-validation methods I know of (e.g. isXmlValid or XmlType.isSchemaValid)  require an XmlType instance, and that records, for which no proper XmlType can be constructed from the CLOB, because the CLOB does not contain well-formed XML, will cause an exception, rather than just returning false or NULL or something else I could filter out.
    Is there a way to do something like
    SELECT * FROM MYTABLE where <MY_XML_COL is wellformed XML> and <MY_XML_COL validates against 'blabla.xsd'>
    without getting an ORA-31011 or whatever other kind of exception as soon as there is a row that does not contain proper XML?
    Thank you...

    So here is my example - this will be quiet a long post now...
    First, I create the table with the CLOBs
    CREATE TABLE ZZZ_MINITEST_CLOB (

      XML_DOC CLOB,

      <minitestId>2</minitestId>

      XML_CONTENT XMLTYPE,
      CONSTRAINT PK_ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML PRIMARY KEY (ID)
    ) NOLOGGING
    XMLTYPE COLUMN XML_CONTENT STORE AS SECUREFILE BINARY XML
      (NOCOMPRESS NOCACHE NOLOGGING KEEP_DUPLICATES);
    Then I create the error logging tables
    begin
    DBMS_ERRLOG.CREATE_ERROR_LOG ('ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML', 'ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML_E', NULL, NULL, TRUE);
    DBMS_ERRLOG.CREATE_ERROR_LOG ('ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML_TRGR', 'ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML_TRGR_E', NULL, NULL, TRUE);
    DBMS_ERRLOG.CREATE_ERROR_LOG ('ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML', 'ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML_E', NULL, NULL, TRUE);
    DBMS_ERRLOG.CREATE_ERROR_LOG ('ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML_TRGR', 'ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML_TRGR_E', NULL, NULL, TRUE);
    END;
    Now the two triggers
    create or replace trigger TRG_ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML
    BEFORE UPDATE OR INSERT ON ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML_TRGR
    REFERENCING NEW AS NEW
    for each row
    BEGIN
      :NEW.XML_CONTENT := :NEW.XML_CONTENT.createSchemaBasedXML('http://localhost/minitest.xsd');
      :NEW.XML_CONTENT.SCHEMAVALIDATE();
    END TRG_ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TRG_ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML
    BEFORE UPDATE OR INSERT ON ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML_TRGR
    REFERENCING NEW AS NEW
    for each row
    BEGIN
      :NEW.XML_CONTENT := :NEW.XML_CONTENT.createSchemaBasedXML('http://localhost/minitest.xsd');
      :NEW.XML_CONTENT.SCHEMAVALIDATE();
    END TRG_ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML;
    I also tried to just validate the XML using queries such as the below, since validating all without the WHERE also caused exception and abortion:
    SELECT ID, DECODE(XMLISVALID(XMLTYPE(XML_DOC), 'http://localhost/minitest.xsd'), 1, 'Y', 0, 'N', '?') VALID
    FROM ZZZ_MINITEST_CLOB WHERE ID=90;
    The results are in column "VALID" in the below tables
    I tried inserting all records from ZZZ_MINITEST_CLOB into the four test tables at once using a query such as
    INSERT INTO ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML_TRGR
    SELECT ID, XMLPARSE(DOCUMENT XML_DOC WELLFORMED) FROM ZZZ_MINITEST_CLOB
    LOG ERRORS INTO ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML_TRGR_E REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;
    I also tried different versions of creating the XML in the SELECT portion:
    XMLPARSE(DOCUMENT XML_DOC WELLFORMED)
    XMLPARSE(DOCUMENT XML_DOC WELLFORMED)
    XMLTYPE(XML_DOC)
    XMLTYPE(XMLDOC, 'http://localhost/minitest.xsd', 0, 1)
    Almost all combinations of the four test tables with the four ways to instantiate the XML caused exceptions and query abortion despite the LOG ERRORS INTO clause.
    In order to find the exact problems, I started inserting records one by one using queries like
    INSERT INTO ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML
    SELECT ID, XMLPARSE(DOCUMENT XML_DOC) FROM ZZZ_MINITEST_CLOB WHERE ID=10
    LOG ERRORS INTO ZZZ_MINITEST_ORXML_E REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;
    or
    INSERT INTO ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML_TRGR
    SELECT ID, XMLTYPE(XMLDOC, 'http://localhost/minitest.xsd', 0, 1) FROM ZZZ_MINITEST_CLOB WHERE ID=20
    LOG ERRORS INTO ZZZ_MINITEST_BINXML_TRGR_E REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;
    I captured the results of each in the below four tables. "1" and "0" are number of rows inserted. 0 means there was no record inserted and instead, there was an error logged in the ERROR LOGGING table.
    The ORA-????? exception numbers mean that this error actually caused the INSERT to fail and abort rather than just being logged in the LOGGING TABLE.These are the most critical cases for me. Why do these exceptions "bubble up" forcing the query to be aborted rather than being logged in the error log as well???

    As you can see, different ways to instantiate the XML which is being inserted will cause different results for the most critical cases (60, 80 and 90). One will go through with an error logged in the logging table and no record inserted, others cause exceptions. Also, using XMLPARSE with or without WELLFORMED causes different ORA numbers for record 90...
    It seems like the only way to not get any exceptions for my test records is inserting XMLs that were created using XMLPARSE (DOCUMENT ... WELLFORMED) into the trigger-protected binary XML table. However, that causes me to miss record number 80, which is one that I really need, because it is well formed and I could use XSLTs to fix the XML by removing the extra tags, as long as I know which ones those are.

  • Display void on check for supplier check prining Report

    Hi All,
    My requirement is to display void on the check for every occurence of the check(except the first occurence).
    For example
    i have 10 invoice's.in my case i will display five invoices on the first page and the next five on page number 2.
    I will display the check on every page.In this case the second occurence of the check i.e. on page number 2 should be voided.
    This should hold good for different vendors as well
    For example i have 2 vendors.....vendor A and Vendor B
    Suppose vendor A has 8 records and vendor B has 10 records
    Then for this case vendor A records would be displayed on two pages(as we can only display five records on each page).Here for vendor A the check should be voided on the second page.Same case for vendor B.
    How do i go about it?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Without seeing the XML I can be specific but you should be about to do something like
    if: position() >1
    Show void image
    end if
    position() is the record pointer you are currently on. So anyting greater than the first you would show the void image
    I wrote an article a while back on conditional check signature images. check out the article here and there is a link to sample template at the end.

  • CVS extension no longer available via "Check for Updates" ?

    Hi,
    It seems that CVS (or any other Versioning support tools) SQLDev extension are no longer available via "Check for Updates".
    I've just downloaded 2.1.1.64 and tried to setup whatever extensions we used to use and they simply do not appear in the list.
    Can this extension be downloaded as a bundle and installed from local file? Where from?
    Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64
    Version 2.1.1.64
    Build MAIN-64.45

    Thank you, Sue. Much appreciated.
    FYI. I've just downloaded SQLDev 3EA release and I'm still facing the same problem.
    Default Update Centers available are:
    1) Oracle SQL Developer ( http://www.htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=raptor:updates )
    2) Oracle Extensions ( http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/162031.xml )
    3) Third Party SQL Developer Extensions ( http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/162031.xml )
    When I mark the first two all I get at the next screen is two entries:
    Oracle Product Extensions for SQL Developer   (Hide) (- which is simply a header I suppose)
    Oracle Rdb Extension 7.3 (Details)
    The CVS extension jars can be copied from previous SQLDev installations (download used to work a couple of releases back), but it should be still available for download via "Check for Updates" or bundled with the product itself.

  • Special Character Restrictions for Native XML Driver

    Hi,
    I have found the following special character restrictions in the documentation:
    "Because they are handled specially by the Native XML driver, do not use the following special characters to define element types and attributes in your XML schema:u201C.u201D, u201C/u201D, u201C\u201D, u201C:u201D u201C@u201D."
    After checking the createad XML-Files in our projects that we will use for CR4E there is often a  u201C.u201D in the definition. Because this is delivered from third-party, we wish that the  u201C.u201D  will be enabled.
    In the moment we create the XSD-Files from the XML-File with XML2XSD.
    It is possible in the future?
    Best Regards
    Arnold Meier

    The changes aren't in XI Release 2, but in 2008.
    Do you still have Nha's XML data?  I edited Document_Policy, Policy_AllCoverages, Policy_Beneficiary to Document.Policy, Policy.AllCoverages, Policy.Beneficiary, then use the following code in CR4E 2.0:
    reportClientDocument reportClientDocument;
    ConnectionInfo connectionInfo;
    PropertyBag propertyBag;
    * Connect to the Java Print Engine and create a new document.
    reportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    reportClientDocument.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
    reportClientDocument.newDocument();
    * Define connection to the XML and XSD files.
    propertyBag = new PropertyBag();
    propertyBag.put("Local XML File", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\tueda\\Desktop\\nha.xml");
    propertyBag.put("Local Schema File", "C:\\Documents and Settings\\tueda\\Desktop\\nha.xsd");
    propertyBag.put("Convert Multivalue to Table", Boolean.FALSE);
    propertyBag.put("Database DLL", "crdb_xml.dll");
    connectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo();
    connectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
    * Specify the dataset in the XML as a Table, and add to the report.
    Table table = new Table();
    table.setConnectionInfo(connectionInfo);
    table.setName("Document.Policy/Policy.Beneficiary");
    table.setAlias("Document_Policy/Policy_Beneficiary");
    reportClientDocument.getDatabaseController().addTable(table, null);
    * Save report to file C:\local_xml.rpt
    reportClientDocument.saveAs("nha_local_xml.rpt", "C:\\", ReportSaveAsOptions._overwriteExisting);
    reportClientDocument.close();
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda
