WebLogic 8.1 JMS/MDB and Trusted Domain

I have a JMS Topic living in one WebLogic 8.1 domain and a MDB that listens to
this JMS Topic living in another domain. Do I need to configure trusted domain
          relationship for both domains?

Not sure whether it is just me or not - the new security stuff in WebLogic 8.1
just makes life so much tougher.
          Thanks for the suggestion anyways.

  • Weblogic Service Migration - JMS Servers and JTA

We are having 2 node managed server Custer - active- active configuration. We are planning to use Weblogic Service Migration to migrate JMS servers and JTA in case of Failure to the available node in the cluster.
===> There is a problem in node1; Due to the failure of node1, JMS servers and JTA do get migrated to Node2.
===> Problem in node 1 is resolved and is available.
===> How to revert the migrated JMS servers and JTA back to node 1?
    Thanks

If I have a 2-node cluster, that means I have to take an outage ? There is no elegant solution to this ?
    Thank you !

    Hi,
    if possible, try with "max-bean-in-free-pool=1".
note: it would be performance impact, as there would be single bean instance.

  • Full mailbox access from trusted domain

I have an issue with users unable to login to OWA or ActiveSync using trusted domain credentials. I have two forests, FOREST A and FOREST B. I have a 2-way forest trust between them. I have migrated users from FOREST A to FOREST B, but their mailboxes need
to stay in FOREST A for the time being.
I have added Full Mailbox access for their FOREST B accounts, as well as Send As permission.
Outlook accesses their mailboxes no problem, with no security credential prompts. Sending is also fine. However, OWA and ActiveSync will not accept their FOREST B login credentials, I get the following error:
The Active Directory resource couldn't be accessed. This may be because the Active Directory object doesn't exist or the object has become corrupted,
or because you don't have the correct permissions.
I have a single Exchange 2010 SP2 server in FOREST A. All roles are on this server.
Why would Outlook clients work but OWA and ActiveSync are failing? Things I have checked:
DNS suffixes for trusted and trusting domain are set on the Exchange Server
Trust is in place and functional
Outlook clients work fine using FOREST B accounts
Changed OWA authentication options between UPN / Domain\User / logon name only - no options worked
Checked time sync between DC's and Exchange
    Any ideas?? Thanks.

    HiBobby4300,
    Great checklist from Martin.
Please try following links to set the msExchMasterAccountSID attribute in the Active Directory Account Forest, for your reference:
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2003/management-administration/Understanding-External-Associated-Account-Windows-Server-2003-Exchange-2003.html
Additional, the best way is to configure linked mailboxes. This is a mailbox associated with an external account. More details about
Create a Linked Mailbox, please refer to:

  • MDB and JMS on different servers

    Hi,
My MDB is deployed on a different domain from the JMS server. Both are on weblogic.
While deploying weblogic, I m getting an error: Unable to create a connection.
    Can anyone give pointers?
    I have ensured the following:
    1. The JMS server starts before the MDB server
    2. The following data is mentioned in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:
jndi name of the remote queue
    provider url--- t3://hostName:port
jndi name of the remote connection factory
is there anyting else that i m missing ?
    thanx and regards
    Shivraman Giri

    Hi,
    Thanx for responding.
I will keep in mind these points when I use a foreign JMS provider. T
Right now I m getting problem when the JMS provider is remote but native ie. MDB and JMS are both on Weblogic. This obviates the need to mention Initial Context. Only the provider URL is to be specified.
Can you suggest a reason as to why i my EJB container (first weblogic ) is unable to connect to JMS provider (another weblogic)
    regards

  • Creating a MDB and Distributed Queue in Clustered env in weblogic 9.2

I have created 3 managed servers and all these managed servers are in the cluster.
Now i create JMS module for this cluster and create the Connection factory 'QUEUE_CF_8' and distributed Queue 'DIS_QUEUE_8' targeting to the cluster.
I create a MDB and JMS client and deploy them in the cluster.JMS client sends the message to the distributed queue and MDB is listening to the distributed queue
When i deploy the MDB , it is deploys perfectly . But when i run the client it fails with the following exception
[java] javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'QUEUE_CF_8'. Resolved '' [Root exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'QUEUE_CF_8'. Resolved '']; remaining name 'QUEUE_CF_8'
When i view the JNDI tree for all the managed servers , i can see the Connection factory and the distributed queue.
Also i deploy the MDB to the cluster and no submoduletargets are specified.
Let me know what is that iam missing.

  • Domains and Trust

So I got in this morning to start working with AD (prep for the move to Office365) tried to launch domains and trust and I receive the following error: "The configuration information describing this enterprise is not available. The target principal name is incorrect. I believe the secure connection is broken. At present, I cannot log on to the PDC emulator. I have 3 DC in total and its the PDC that's giving me problems. I believe this is stemming from a Kerberos error event id 5. Authentication against the PDC is still good however I cannot do anything with domains and trust.
I have read several posts about stopping KDC and resetting the password but I cannot gain access to the PDC.
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

Also what's the operation system of the affected servers in those two domains?
    And what's the error message?
Whatever, it seems like a cross domain sharing issue and admin share is involved.
Please first see if this is the cause:
Error message when you try to access an administrative share on a Windows Vista-based computer from another Windows Vista-based computer that is a member of a workgroup: "Logon unsuccessful: Windows is unable to log you on"
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947232
Please check if local account is actually using when accessing the admin share. Try with different domain account to see the result. Make sure the account does have permission to access.

  • What is the association between JMS Server and JMS Module in weblogic 10?

    Hi,
I have a created a ConnectionFactory, Queue, Topic under JMS Modules in Weblogic Server 10 using admin console.
And I have created a JMS Server and Targetted to the current running server (Admin Server).
But when I run the Queue Sender program it is unable to LookUP the jndi which I gave for Queue.
    queue = (Queue) initialContext.lookup("jndi_queue");
    Exception:
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'jndi_queue'.
But I configured this jndi name when I create the Queue in JMS Module in Weblogic Server 10.
How JMS Module and JMS server are associated.
My Doubt is if i have several JMS Modules and only one JMS Server created then how does the JMS Server identifies which Queue/Topic belongs to which JMS Module????
    Please advice.
    Thanks....

    Hi,
Once you have JMS servers configured:
Step 1: Target the JMS configuration module to the cluster that will host the destination, or, if not using clustering, target the module to the individual WL server that will host the JMS server.
Step 2: Configure a "subdeployment" for the module and set it to reference the exact JMS server(s) that will host the destination. If you're using a distributed desitnation, you can specify multiple JMS servers, if you're using a regular destination, only specify a single destination.
Step 3: Create a destination resource in the module, and set its subdeployment to the subdeployment you specified in step 1 (the console calls this "advanced targeting"). As a best practice avoid the "default targeting" option for the resource - always choose subdeployment (advanced) targeting.
For more information, reference the "best practices" chapter of the JMS configuration guide:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/e13738/best_practice.htm#CACJCGHG
I also I highly recommend the JMS chapter of the book "Professional Oracle WebLogic".
    Hope this helps,
    Tom

  • Weblogic 8.1 JMS Failover

    Hi,
In the Weblogic documentation with regards to JMS and Clusters it is stated that "Automatic failover is not supported by WebLogic JMS in this release." In my case, this release is 8.1.2. Can anyone clarify exactly what this means?
              Thanks,

Not sure whether it is just me or not - the new security stuff in WebLogic 8.1
just makes life so much tougher.
              Thanks for the suggestion anyways.

  • MDB and "stuck" messages

    Hi,
We're developing a MDB listening to a AQ/JMS database persistant queue, on a Oracle JMS provider. That MDB as to be bullet proof (no lost messages), and that's why we're using database persistance. So far everything is working fine, but we have one issue that cause some headackes.
For what I know, the onMessage() method doesn't acknowledge to the provider until the method completes, without trowing an exception. In that case, the provider rollback so he can try to redeliver the message again. Since we have some important processing done within the onMessage() method, we were worried about what would happen if the MDB crash (java code crash, server crash, sledgehammer hit). I tryed to read that message via a java class I wrote, but I couldn't. (i guess the message is still waiting for the acknowledge)
So to make it short, I placed a "thread.Sleep" in the middle of the onMessage() method, I deployed it on my application server, put a message in the queue, and I pressed the reset button of my machine. The result was that the message was still in the queue (that's nice since we didn't lost it), but never redelivered, and after some time (like 12h), the message was gone of the database and not delivered. (the message expiration was set to 0)
So the big question would be: what happen to a JMS message if the MDB crash for any reason and what's the behavior of the JMS provider, and if there's anything we can do to redeliver that "stuck" message?
I guess the provider keep the status of each message somewhere in the database (something that says to him that the message is in develery, waiting for acknowledge).
    Thanks

Most likely this is some server configuration issue and not an actual programming problem (because as you say yourself, on another system it works). I can advise only two things.
    - dig through the weblogic documentation
    - take your question to the weblogic forum

  • Message lost during Message Send in weblogic 9.2 JMS

I am using Weblogic Server 9.2 in a clustered environment (2 nodes in separate machines). The application deployed has ejb timers which picks up data from DB, and sends text messages (very small size as its just an ID) to a Queue (using the JMS APIs - QueueSender.send(message)). There is an MDB (with max-beans-in-free-pool) configured to be 20 listenting to this message. There might be 1-20 records picked up from the DB and the id of those records will be sent to the JMS Queue as separate JMS messages. i.e. QueueSender.send will be called as many times as there are record ids to send. The timer after sending the message to the queue sets the status of all the data it picked up to "Busy" in the same transaction as the message send. We are using XA driver and the JMS Connection factory is also XA enabled. We had problems with this XA transaction as weblogic sometimes sends the messages and before db commit happened to set the status to "Busy". We had a workaround to this problem by setting the JMS Connection factory setting "time to Deliver" to 300 so that the messages are visible to the MDB only after 300 ms thereby giving time for db commit to be over as per the suggestion in the following link. http://jayesh-patel.blogspot.com/. We had done this 2 months back and to date we find no problem.
Now we are facing another strange problem. The JMS sometime misses delivering the messages. This is evident from the logs we had printed from the MDB. The logs indicate some messages has reached the MDB and some did not. This problem occurs occasionally. Also what I see is that this had occured under normal load conditions only though this application operates under high loads (number of messages being processed per day may go up to 5000). In the last one month this had occured 3 times. The JMS messaging is becoming unreliable.
This seems to be a bug in Weblogic 9.2 JMS. Is there any workaround to prevent this problem. ?

It is doubtful that JMS is losing messages. Suggestions:
    * Try increasing your sheduled message delay. 300 millis is a short delay -- any small network glitch, disk hardware issue, or even a single JVM GC in the JDBC driver can cause the database to take longer than 300 millis to complete its part of the transaction.
    * Try "WebLogic JMS Message Lifecycle Logging" if you want to trace message activity.
    * Instead of the delay, consider using WebLogic's Datasource "LLR" option, a commonly used solution to your use case. This is an optimization option that yields fully ACID (safe) transactions, and has the very nice side effect of deterministically forcing the TM to always commit the database portion of a transaction before committing any other resources participating in the same transaction.

  • 1 "simple" JMS topic and 2 cluster elements with OSB

    Hi,
I have 1 simple jms topic (not distributed, not on migratable target) and cluster with 2 members - OSB as main application. My OSB proxy service reads from this topic and saves data to file.
The problem is that reading from topic appears twice - once by each cluster member. How to configure topic or proxy service for only one reading?

FYI - At this year's Oracle OpenWorld, which is being held in conjunction with this year's JavaOne, Oracle will be announcing a set of enhancements that are designed to cover this exact use case.

    Session ID: S317469
Title: New Service-Oriented Architecture Patterns with Enterprise Grid Messaging
Abstract: Messaging systems are essential in enabling the flexibility and loosely coupled nature of a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Oracle WebLogic Java Message Service (JMS) includes new pub-sub capabilities that make architectures more adaptable, allowing message producers to be ignorant of who is the consumer of a message or how many consumers there are. It also enables easy scale out and dynamic adaptability through clustering and message-driven bean (MDB) enhancements, all while still guaranteeing strict message ordering. This session will outline new JMS capabilities and show how they enable new designs with Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Service Bus.
