Weblogic 8.1 with Xalan 2.6.1 and Xerces 2.6.2 ?!?

Hi,
I'm trying to use Xalan 2.6.1 and Xerces 2.6.2 with Weblogic 8.1SP2, but no result yet...
I found docs on bea website:
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/pdf/faq.pdf
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/xml/xml_admin.html
where I found this:
"Warning: In version 8.1 of WebLogic Server, you can plug in only the following versions of the Apache Xerces parser:
Xerces 2.2.0
Xerces 2.3.0
Xerces 2.4.0
In addition, you can plug in only those versions of the Apache Xalan transformer that are compatible with the preceding versions of the Apache Xerces parser."
I can't find any solution to this?
I tried various option:
- xercesImpl2.6 in the classpath variable
- xalan2.6.2 in the endorsed lib
- registered factory impl names in xml registry
- prefer web-inf set to true
Errors result in following exception:
- NoMethodFound (rhino classes inside weblogic.jar)
- ClassCast (xalan/xerces conflicts)
Any one has suggestions?
Regards
Leonardo

According to that link your right it is not supported.
Have you tried adding the xerces jars at the beginning of the classpath?

  • Weblogic and xerces and xalan

    I understand that xerces and xalan are a part of the weblogic's distribution.
    Will BEA also upgrade to newer versions of these softwares as they are available?
    If not how do I use newer versions of these softwares with weblogic.
    This is becoming a critical issue for us as I already see a remarkable difference
    in performance while doing transformations. The newer versions of xalan and xerces
    are performing much better with the same xml and xsl documents as compared to
    the previous versions.

  • Using WebLogic JMS Wrappers with Spring

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if anyone used WebLogic JMS wrappers with Spring?
    I am using WebLogic configured to have Sonic as my Foreign JNDI Provider. Weblogic provide me with specific entries on the admin console to set information such as the JNDI name of the Sonic Connection Factory. If I specify this JNDI name in the Spring config, and call getConnection() then I will get back a new connection each time.
    I don't want this, I want to cache the connection (as connections are expensive in Sonic). This is where the WebLogic JMS wrappers come in, they can handle the pooling for me but the only way I can see to use them is via a resource-ref. It is possible for Spring to get a handle onto these wrappers or should I use Spring's own pooling mechanism instead?
    P.S. I've also asked this question on the Spring forum
    Thanks for any help
    Mandy

    Maybe you have already tried the following:
    <beans xmlns:jee="http://www.springframework.org/schema/jee" ... >
    <jee:jndi-lookup id="connectionFactory" jndi-name="jms.ConnectionFactory">
    <jee:environment>
    java.naming.factory.initial=weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
    java.naming.provider.url=t3://localhost:7001
    </jee:environment>
    </jee:jndi-lookup>
    </beans>
    an alternative is to use the JNDI template
    <beans ... >
    <bean id="jndiTemplate" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiTemplate">
    <property name="environment">
    <props>
    <prop key="java.naming.factory.initial">weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory</prop>
    <prop key="java.naming.provider.url">t3://localhost:7001</prop>
    </props>
    </property>
    </bean>
    <bean id="connectionFactory" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiObjectFactoryBean">
    <property name="jndiTemplate" ref="jndiTemplate" />
    <property name="jndiName"><value>jms.ConnectionFactory</value></property>
    </bean>

  • How to use CMP in Weblogic 9.2 with MySQL?

    Hello all...
    So I've been tasked wiith moving an Oracle/Weblogic installation to a MySQL/Weblogic platform. Things are moving along well, except that in my CMP (Container-Managed Persistence) descriptors, the database-type is set to "Oracle" and there are references to columns of type "OracleBlob" and "OracleClob".
    I changed database-type to "MySQL" and those columns to "Blob" and "Clob", but it doesn't work -- Weblogic reports that MySQL doesn't support Blobs and Clobs (which is untrue, but perhaps Weblogic 9.2 doesn't know how to deal with MySQL Blobs and Clobs).
    Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a workaround? I've Google'd it and looked here, and it doesn't seem like many people use this combination of MySQL and Weblogic, so there's not much discussed on this topic.
    Any help would be much appreciated!

    First you need to make sure that you are using supported configuration. CMP (WebLogic feature) is supported with MySql4 with Connect/J

    Hi,
    I did not make any console adjustments for debugging on my WebLogic 10.3.2.0 - however I am running in development mode on an "adminServer" (an option during the install)
    In the console there is a debug setup page - that seems to have no effect for me (I can always debug) - so either it is a combination of development mode and/or the startWeblogic script from the Eclipse plugin.
    However, these debug settings are likely for debugging into the server - you only want to debug your own app code right?
    On the console page goto
    http://localhost:7001/console/console.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=ServerDebugPage
    servers | AdminServer | configuration-debug | expand weblogic
    I see...

  • Weblogic.management.security with transactions, Please HELP

    I am using weblogic.management.security.authentication API to programmatically insert/delete users and passwords into/from default security provider on Weblogic Server 8.1. I want to add transactional support to this these actions, I tried using UserTransaction API but without any luck. Does weblogi.managment.security.authenication has no transactional support (rollback-commit) or am I doing something wrong? I very much appreciate your help and looking forward to hearing from you!!!!
    It doesn't rollback, Here is the code:
    UserTransaction transaction = (UserTransaction)ctx.lookup("javax.transaction.UserTransaction");
    transaction.begin();
    UserEditorMBean userEditor = (UserEditorMBean)providers;
    userEditor.createUser(userName, password, description);
    transaction.rollback();

    I do not think you can have transactions over MBean calls as they communicate with relevant object over t3 and this objects are possibly in different class loader.

  • What are the limitations in weblogic that comes with JDeveloper?

    Not much. If there is, you can always create your own domain with the servers you want and create a connnection to the admin server of that domain in JDeveloper.

    The Error which you are getting is because one of the

    Also can you please let me know where are you placing the xalan jar file ? is it deployed as a j2ee library or part of war ?

If you need a quick implementation (following few next months) I'm afraid you will have to go with folder_g

      1) we have tried give both server URL coma sparated in provider URL
    we need to configur same scenario for 5 managed server with 3 listener on other servers.
    Do any one have solution for this.

    You need to have:
    1. Consumers connected to each UDQ member
    OR
    2. If no consumers in some of the members is expected, you can configure Forward Delay (specify the amount of time, in seconds, that a queue member with messages, but with no consumers, will wait before forwarding its messages to other queue members that do have consumers):
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/jms_modules/distributed_queues/ConfigureUDQGeneral.html
    For example you can set it to 10 (10s)

  • WebLogic 9.2 with Apache Connector Config

    Hi I am new to this forum, WebLogic, and all Oracle products for that matter. I am a college intern and I have been asked to learn how to use WebLogic 9.2. I was told that they want it to be connected to apache with the mod_wl_22.so shared module for Apache. I have placed the module in the directory and added the LoadModule line to the httpd.conf file and the module loads fine. From reading through the WebLogic documentation I now know that I need to create a <Location> block in httpd.conf for the connector. I also know that the arguments that you need to use are WebLogicHost and WebLogicPort. So in my httpd.conf I have added the following.
    <Location /weblogic>
    WebLogicHost 10.15.107.90/weblogic
    WebLogicPort 7001
    </Location>
    I also tried.....
    <Location /weblogic>
    WebLogicHost /weblogic
    WebLogicPort 7001
    </Location>
    and.....
    <Location /weblogic>
    WebLogicHost 10.15.107.90
    WebLogicPort 7001
    </Location>
    All with no luck. When I browse to http://10.15.107.90/weblogic I get nothing. Can anybody help me out here?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    This is a template for 'httpd.conf'. Please make it sure that you are following this:
    ===
    # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool.
    # This is the main Apache server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/> for detailed information about
    # the directives.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # The configuration directives are grouped into three basic sections:
    # 1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a
    # whole (the 'global environment').
    # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server,
    # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host.
    # These directives also provide default values for the settings
    # of all virtual hosts.
    # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to
    # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the
    # same Apache server process.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do not begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/logs/foo.log".
    # NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
    # instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
    # If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which Apache.exe is located
    # will be used by default. It is recommended that you always supply
    # an explicit drive letter in absolute paths, however, to avoid
    # confusion.
    ### Section 1: Global Environment
    # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache,
    # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it
    # can find its configuration files.
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
    # mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation (available
    # at <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mpm_common.html#lockfile>);
    # you will save yourself a lot of trouble.
    # Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path.

    # If unspecified (the default), the scoreboard will be stored in an

    # applications.
    # If specified, ensure that no two invocations of Apache share the same
    # scoreboard file. The scoreboard file MUST BE STORED ON A LOCAL DISK.
    #ScoreBoardFile logs/apache_runtime_status
    # PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
    # identification number when it starts.

    Timeout 300
    # KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than
    # one request per connection). Set to "Off" to deactivate.

    # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'

    # <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
    # any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.

    # This can often be determined automatically, but we recommend you specify
    # it explicitly to prevent problems during startup.

    # redirections will not work. See also the UseCanonicalName directive.

    hi JavaCrazyLover
    u got why u getting the error i ma getting similar error its running fine in 8.1 but in web9.1 it is giving errors in some jsp pages may be due to versions or name spacing ie we write in top of the page DTD schema am not sure but i think , there is no jars to add on as such web 9.1 is upgraded one and it supports all files some where there will be conflicts between versions example JDK 1.5and 1.4 enum is a keyword in 9.1 but in normal in 8.1 if u get the solution for this error please mail me to [email protected]

  • Debug Weblogic 10.0 with 2-Way SSL: Error 401--Unauthorized

    Hi,
    I am working on Weblogic 10.0 with 2-Way SSL configuration. User uses X.509 certificate to login into the system. I have a default UserNameMapper which maps the CN to the a user name in the LDAP user store. User can login without problem. But after user login, when he tries to hit a new page before the original page fully loaded, he will get a "Error 401--Unauthorized".
    I turned on the Weblogic security debug and got the following warning with stack trace. Can anybody help me to figure out what's wrong? How do I troubleshoot this issue? Any help is really appreciated.

  • Upgrade Weblogic 8.1 with JMS 1.1

    Hello,
              I am trying to use a Foreign JMS server that I would like to run within the same JVM are my Weblogic server. The foreign JMS is ActiveMQ and supports JCA. This is especially important for XA connections to be managed by the container.
              However, Weblogic 8.1 uses JMS 1.02b and ActiveMQ uses JMS 1.1. I attempted to replace some of the classes within the weblogic jar with JMS 1.1 classes but I just ran into more issues. Anyone know how to properly upgrade Weblogic 8.1 to use JMS 1.1?
              Thanks,
              Denis.

    You can put a jar of implementation of JMS1.1 in your classpath before the weblogic.jar . This will bypass the implementation of JMS weblogic provides.
