Weblogic 9.2 .out logfile

I am running my managed server using Node Manager and hence there is no console window as running using command file. Just noticed that in my server's log directory there is a .out file being generated and it is getting very huge to an extent that it is affecting the performance of the server. Does anyone knows how to control the .out file size just like the .log file?

I opened a case with BEA Support not long ago with a similar question. Specifically, I asked the question “Can standard out files be rotated like other log files?” The response from BEA was “...standard out file cannot be rotated like other log files.” (Case# 796200). The support person indicated that the file would only be rotated when the JVM associated with the WebLogic server was restarted.
Although the .out file cannot be rotated “by size” or “by time”, you could try raising the severity level of messages being written to the .out file as a way of reducing its size. Within the Admin console navigate to Servers -> [ServerName] -> Logging -> General -> Advanced, and make a choice from the selection box “Severity level:” under “Standard out:”

  • WebLogic Server Times  OUT during DEBUG mode startup

    Hi,
    I am having a issue where my WebLogic Server 10.3 times out when I try to run it in debug mode in my workshop. Below is the error I get.
    "Timeout waiting for Oracle WebLogic Server v10.3 at localhost to start. Server did not start after 480s. "
    Do anyone have any idea why this is happening? I have reinstalled workshop but still same error.
    Thanks

  • Copy weblogic environment with out install on Unix for weblogic6.1SP6

    Hi,
    I copied the weblogic home directory from one unix machine to another. Does the new machine work as the old environment with out any other configuration changes?
    Startup script has all path and class path settings required for the application.
    Please guide me if any docs available on what extra configurations do by installer when compare to the copying of the folders.
    In windows i tried this way which doesnt give any problem. I would like to make sure that copying of bea folders shouldnt cause any problems in future on unix environment.
    Any help on it is greatly apreciated.
    Thank You.

  • Weblogic password grey out after reinstall 12.2

    Dear all,
    installing ebs 12.2 on oul5x64 . after the first failed install. i re-install 12.2 again but this time the password for weblogic user was grey out.
    would you please advise what else i need to delete for the password field to active again.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Is the password field disabled in the "Application User Information" info? Can you please provide a screenshot?
    Have you removed all the file from the previous installation including oraInventory?
    For the config file, it's stored in 3 separate locations -- Please see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/V39571_01/current/acrobat/122oaig.pdf Page 1-1/1-2 for details.

  • Stand alone weblogic keeps running out of memory ! Cause of Memory Leakage?

    Hi all,
    I have a machine with 16gb ram and 500gb hard disk with linux os. I have installed weblogic server in it with an adf application deployed on it. So now the problem every two weeks the machine keeps running out of memory . Could it be because of connection leakage ?
    There are only a couple of people accessing the application time and again.
    When i checked for the data source connection count in weblogic server under data sources , it mostly shows around 10 - 20 connections.
    What are various reasons for leakage of connection in ADF application ?
    I have not made any explicit jdbc calls in our application .
    There is a couple of PL/SQL calls to an external api(this is done in the application module) through db links and rest all is just plain accessing of application modules and view objects .
    So what could be the reason if any memory leakage is occuring ?
    My application module configuration is
      <AppModuleConfigBag ApplicationName="model.am.AuthenticationAM">
          <AppModuleConfig jbo.project="model.Model" DeployPlatform="LOCAL" name="AuthenticationAMLocal" ApplicationName="model.am.AuthenticationAM">
             <AM-Pooling jbo.ampool.maxinactiveage="300000" jbo.ampool.initpoolsize="44" jbo.ampool.maxpoolsize="60" jbo.recyclethreshold="40" jbo.ampool.minavailablesize="0" jbo.ampool.monitorsleepinterval="120000"/>
             <Database jbo.locking.mode="optimistic" jbo.TypeMapEntries="OracleApps"/>
             <Security AppModuleJndiName="model.am.AuthenticationAM"/>
             <Custom JDBCDataSource="java:comp/env/jdbc/ConnectionDBDS" jbo.rowid_am_datasource_name="java:comp/env/jdbc/ROWIDAM_DBDS"/>Thanks in advance

    Hi Suspito ,
    Thanks for the link ..
    Is that the standard configuration for weblogic server?
    If at all there are connection leaks in the application in the weblogic server under datasource will it show the count of all the database connection open ?

    read all the section who mention PermGen:
    http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=4464
    http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=4456
    in a nutshell, you need to increase in your setDomainEnv script (I think) the parameters -XX:PermSize and -XX:MaxPermSize

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended: How to activate logfiles?

    Dear members
    Does  someone now how to activate or read out logfiles of a 3DPDF conversion?
    I would  like to convert Catia V5 data via command line, but cannot find or  activate logs...
    Currently I'm only using the OLE objects "AcroExch.AVDoc" and  "AcroExch.App". In the API reference at livedocs.adobe.com there is  nothing about it.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards
    hanseat82

    That's clear, we are calling the Acrobat over OLE via Perl, scrap:
    use Win32::OLE;
    $infile = $ARGV[0];
    $outfile = $ARGV[1];
    $NOSAVE = -1;
    $PDSAVEFULL = 1;
    ## Create Objects
    $avdoc_obj = Win32::OLE->new('AcroExch.AVDoc') || die "new: $!";
    $app_obj = Win32::OLE->new('AcroExch.App') || die "new: $!";
    ## Open Inputfile
    $avdoc_obj->Open($infile, $infile);
    ## Get PDF Document as Object from Inputfile
    $pddoc_obj = $avdoc_obj->GetPDDoc();
    And I found the Java code from you, Adobe:
    #            catch (ConversionException e)
    #                System.out.println(e.getErrorCode());
    #                System.out.println(e.getConversionLog());
    Can you give me name me the import module of class "ConversionException" or in general how to go on with that?
    Thanks and regards

  • Can't Start a Local Weblogic server.

    I have been trying for over a week now to figure this out. I have found no information on this issue and I don't know enough about WebLogic to find out what is going on.
    I have a local weblogic 10.3.5 server on my work laptop that I need to use to be able to debug in eclipse. The problem is when I try to start the server I get these odd errors, pasted below. I have no idea what the server is attempting to do when it gets this error. How I've gotten along so far, is I found a way to get around this, but only from the command line, which won't work in eclipse. If I open up oracle quickstart, create a new domain, have quickstart start the admin server on the new domain, the server starts up, then I kill the server in the same command prompt, and go to the first domain and start it, it starts. But if I just go straight to the main domain and try to start it I get the below errors. Does anyone know, or could point me in the right direction, on what could be causing this or what I need to do to fix it? Thanks.

  • Breaking up the weblogs into different categories

    It will be really nice to break up the weblogs into different categories based on technical areas(kind of like forum but not that many categories). There could be one category where all the general discussion weblog could be posted. I think this will generate more traffic towards weblogs. Right now lot of the technical weblogs are getting lost among the general content. Just a suggestion. Love to hear back from SDN members.

    Hi Sing,
    Once in a while this request comes up and I have the same reaction as Craig has. It's there, just select Topics and every one of them has it's own page.
    For example here is the EP page:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/weblogs.sdn?blog=/weblogs/topic/22
    Your latest Weblog still on top although there were many other posts on the most recent weblogs page.
    It makes me think how we could better make it available to people. The weblogs as well as the link on the main EP page is directly to this page.
    Not sure what else can be done, besides a Weblog pointing it out again.
    Best, Mark.

  • Weblogic only deploys 'WEB-INF' directory....

    Hi,
    I desperatly try to deploy an exploded war file - but it seems weblogic just pics the web-inf folder & leaves everything else behind. Deployment failes because during startup the application tries to access a file stored outside the WEB-INF, which would be the top-level of the war archive.
    Anyone knows why this is the case? Is this configureable somehow?
    Weblogic version is 11g (10.3.2) under Windows....

    Thanks for the quick response!
    It's a Webservice using Axis.
    I know that during startup, a servlet tries to load stuff like configuration details, logging details etc. "Unfortunatly" those files are stored in a config folder on the "root" level of the war file.
    In essence, the structure looks like this:
    ---| some_webservices.war
    ------| WEB-INF
    ---------| lib
    ---------| ..........
    ------| META-INF
    ------| config
    ---------| ...some files...
    If i deploy the whole thing as a archive, the applicaton works fine - but if I explode the war file & choose to deploy the root folder, weblogic just grabs the web-inf folder, copies it to the server & starts the application (which leads to the problem).
    To answer your other questions:
    - no there are no "weblogic" errors in the logfile - the only error comes from the application, because it tries to load a file from the config directory...

  • JSF 1.2 in Weblogic 10

    Hi JSF 1.2 is bundled with weblogic 10 and out of interest I tried to use it to see if it was suitable for our new development. The application works with both JSF-RI1.1 and myfaces 1.1, so I was hoping to see if 1.2 would bring any benefits.
              I have set up my weblogic.xml to deploy the 1.2 version, but when I start my app I get an exception (see below) . Do I have to undeploy the other versions? Is there anything missing from the faces-config.xml, I changed it ti use the new XML schema, but this made no difference.
              Is JSF1.2 useable in portal 10?

    It seems like you are running weblogic server 10 with assertion enabled.
              The issue is a bug in JSF 1.2 reference implementation. Please refer to
              https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=452+
              for detail. The bug has been fixed. However, the JSF1.2 library bundled weblogc 10 does not catch the fix.
              As a workaround, you can disable assertion to ignore the error. Please update if the workaround works.
              Thanks,
              -Fred.
