Is there any area that has info on WebLogic hosting pricing?? I cannot locate that specific section in the info you sent and was hoping you could help.
I see the DB, but not the application server section??

This isn't a question that I've heard before ;-)
Today, a very good portion of the WebLogic customers are also buying Coherence with WebLogic, often as part of the product called "WebLogic Suite". Also, many large WebLogic customers have been using Coherence since long before Oracle acquired either BEA WebLogic or Tangosol Coherence.
When it comes to building high-scale Java EE applications, Oracle Coherence is an invaluable tool, so as long as there are Java and Java EE applications, and as long as high scalability, high availability and high performance are important, there is demand for Coherence, and that demand has grown year after year.
WebLogic is a much larger and more mature product, with many more customers. WebLogic continues to grow at Oracle, even though it is considered a mature product.
So I guess you could say there is good demand for both :)

Issue in bringing up CRS on ATG 10.1.1 with MySQL and Weblogic 10.3

I am trying to bring up Commerce Reference Store as part of my evaluation using MySQL (bundled with ATG) and WebLogic 10.3.
I followed the ATG Documentation on CRS with WebLogic and MySQL and I could not proceed because of the below error log. I keep getting error in OnlineCreateServerInstanceTask of CIM. I believe it should be some configuration problem, but could not think of any.
As part of the installation, I use C:\jdk1.6.0_25. I verified my weblogic server is up through the admin console. I started MySQL before running the eval batch. Apart from starting MySQL server, I did not make any datasource/database configuration changes for ATG. I have not run any other scripts to configure MySQL too.
Please guide me to resolve the problem.

This error is resolved after following the logs in C:\ATG\ATG10.1.1\CIM\log\cim.log. The root cause is I used http as protocol instead of t3 while specifying weblogic admin url.

How to make weblogic proxy to work on Sun Java system web server 7?

Hi Every one,
I am working on upgrade our Sun one 6.1 webserver to Sun Java system web server 7. Our website uses weblogic server to process jsp, web server only send static pages. I did all configurations as on Sun one. But somehow, the webserver does not forward "get jsp page" request to weblogic. The log record is:
for host 10.78.124.118 trying to GET /home.jsp, send-file reports: HTTP4142: can't find /www/a/WebServer7/docs/bmd9i/home.jsp (File not found)
home.jsp is at weblogic server.
And redirect "NameTrans fn="redirect" from="/" url="/home.jsp"" seems does not work. when I type on IE http://32.69.253.131/ (32.69.253.131 is http listener IP), it always shows index.html page under the document root.
Could some on can help? I am the first time to configurate web server. Thanks in advance.

Quick obvious question - Are you positive you're editing the correct obj.conf? Check the config directory and see if there is a second one called something like <instance>.obj.conf (where <instance> is the name of your configured instance).
Alternatively you can grep for object-file in the server.xml to see which obj.conf the server is using:

Then try this one again.
1. Make sure WebLogic instance is down.
2. Set your environment variables using setDomainEnv.sh.
3. cd to security directory in your instance.
(eg: $WL_HOME/user_projects/domains/base_domain/security)
4. Run:
java weblogic.security.utils.AdminAccount admin_user admin_pass .
Now this time it should work.

MacBook Pro Mid 2010 Model very sluggish when trying to carry out "demanding" tasks.

I've had my MacBook Pro for almost three years now, I purchased it in August of 2010 and I have never had any problems with it until recently. First, the disk drive went out on me, it will read very low capacity disks such as photo disks or DVDs but when I try to pop in a game disk or burn anything, it makes this really loud noise and freezes up. I've already had this problem looked at, and I will be sending it to Apple to be repaired in the next month or so.
However, recently, a new problem has occured. Whenever I open an app, especially Safari, if I try to carry out "demanding" tasks (i.e. watch videos on YouTube, get on Facebook, listen to music from Pandora) it freezes and the only solution is to shut the computer down (by pressing and holding the power button, which I know is unhealthy for the computer) and turn it back on. Control+Option+Esc doesn't work anymore when this problem occurs and it doesn't just freeze the app in question, it freezes the entire computer. My GeekSquad and AppleCare over-the-phone-support options are both expired, as I haven't had any reason to renew them, since I haven't had any problems in the past two and a half years.
I have tried every solution that has been said on the web. I've cleaned all the chaches, I've reset the SMC, I tried to reset the PRAM but I didn't get the expected results, I've reset Safari, I've run virus scans, I've deleted unecessary items, I've done disk repairs, I've run all the great utility apps such as OnyX and Memory Clean, I have done everything that has been suggested with no results.
The only thing I can attribute this to is the recent addition of Virtual DJ Pro to my computer. My boyfriend and I use this computer for many purposes, such as making music, making videos, photo editing, writing, surfing the web, but mostly used for school. It used to be used for playing Sims 3, but since the disk drive has stopped working, I have removed the program from the computer completely.
I have read that Macs usually slow down after about 80% of their memory capcity is reached. I'm worried that this is the problem, but why would it only affect Safari? iMovie and iPhoto occasionally freeze, but they have had this problem since I've had the computer. This computer is running with a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i5 processor with OS X 10.8.3 software and 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 memory. I plan on buying an external hard drive soon and backing up using Time Machine, as I have never done this before and I fear that this problem may affect all of my documents.
I'm still covered by the in-store GeekSquad, but it's a twenty minute drive and the last time I took it in for the disk drive check-up, they basically said "Sorry, take it to Apple" and the nearest Apple store is three hours away in Kansas City, MO.
I put this question under "Internet and Networking" as the thing mostly affected by this problem is Safari. My internet connection is not the problem; it performs fine on the desktop, iPad, and iPhone 5. I am at my wits end here, and if anyone could offer a simple solution, I would be more than grateful. Oracle WebLogic Server - Oracle Spatial NDM-LOD Implementation

I have a Network Data Model using Load on Demand approach implementation in Oracle WebLogic Server. Upon uploading of the java web service to my WebLogic Server, everything works fine and I can do network analysis functions using the LOD API.
My problem is, whenever I add additional data to my Nodes and Links table, or I totally deleted all records in my Nodes and Links and repopulated the table with new data, I encounter the error Start node cannot be found.
This are my sample screenshots for your reference.

The only solution that I found to resolve this error is to update or redeploy the Java Web Service that have my Network Analysis functions. But this solution is basically not acceptable since my network data is constantly changing and more nodes and links are being added everyday.
Does anyone have any Idea on how to resolve this without updating or redeploying my Java Web Service?

Yes, you can go to customizing and see the field selection keys for the PO and see in the: Selection group Quantity and Price.

How to create a session cookie on demand

Hi,
I search the web but couldn't find anything related to creating session cookies on demand. I want to create a session cookie storing encrypted user tokens when there is none, for example, when the first page is called.
The encryption part is OK, but I want how can I intercept every call to a set of pages and create the session cookie if it doesn't exist.
I'm using ADF, of course, and Weblogic.
Anyone can provide some examples or source code?

I have written excel macros and it is working fine.
but if the same file if i try to open from hyperlink after deploying in Weblogic server , I get the error
"error occured initializing the VBA libraries.
If Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) was not installed, or was set to Install on first use,
(advertised, or set to install on demand) you may receive this error message.
Depending on the mode of installation used and the rights of the user to change current settings,

Is there any difference between the preferences for RX and RXI. Please go to "edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Security(Enhanced)" and uncheck "Enable protected mode at startup".
Are you able to open any pdf from command line with the same command:

"Cipher not initialized" when trying to invoke CRM On Demand web service

Using JDev 10g on the same machine (or for that matter SOA 10g) works perfectly.

Trimdirectivewhitespaces not effectcting in weblogic 10.3

Hi I am facing an issue with trimdirectivewhitespaces tag. I have tried configure this in web.xml as well as a page directive. But its not having any effect. White space generated by the directive tags are still kept. But the same war is workig fine with Tomcat 6.1. Whitespaces are getting removed.
I have searched other threads but no much info. Any thoughts on this?

Sometimes there may be some misunderstandings on what this setting does and what it does not do.
let's say you start wth a JSP like this one:

and when you run it, you will see that the trimDirectiveWhitespaces does not remove any of the white spaces in the HTML text.
However, it is actually not supposed to do that.
The purpose of it is rather to remove whitespaces between JSP tags (and including custom actions from taglibs)
It means, JSP text like:
+<body>+
hello, world avec TRIM dans la page
+<% // This is a scriptlet+
+%>+
+<% // This is another scriptlet+
+%>+
+<% // This is a third scriptlet+
+%>+

would normally generate three empty lines.
But with trimDirectiveWhitespaces="true", those three empty lines are collapsed into a single line.
So that is actually the behaviour that the spec demands:

The reason the spec does not go further is that it is a very non-trivial task to parse all the possible HTML variants and dialects to determine what whitespaces can be left out and which cannot.
Having said that, there is still a Weblogic specific setting called "compress-html-template", which can be enabled in the weblogic.xml deployment descriptor. It is documented at

Most likely you can still try an implementation of your own for stripping off those HTML whitespaces yourself, and a Filter defined in web.xml which wraps the Response object and parses the Response stream sounds like a promising approach for that. In a filter like that you could make assumptions about the HTML and how whitespaces can be stripped off from it, to match your actual application (and the HTML that it generates).

CC&B LoginModule for Weblogic Change of Password

Hi All,
I realise this is more of a Weblogic question, though I'm specifically after a working example of LoginModule that can be used within CC&B on Weblogic to:
a) Force users to change their password if their password is reset;
b) Force users to change their password if their password is expired (for example after 30 days);
b) Plus preferably also allow users to change their password on demand.
Can anyone point me at some examples of this (preferably also highlighting what needs to be set-up within Weblogic from an admin perspective to allow password expiry)?
Note - Kerberos Authentication is not currently an option, hence I need just basic JSP login modules.

What is Oracle Database on Demand (DoD)? My understanding is that, it is the lingo used for Oracle Database over cloud. Please correct my understanding
In either case i have following question on Oracle DoD
1) IS there any limitation over the concurrents users on Oracle DoD ? Or thats limited to the service/pricing on Oracle DoD?
2) IS there any limitation on transaction with respect to data volume per user ?
3) Does my application need changes while connecting to Oracle DoD ( apart from connection string, i.e. Host name and SID) ?
