Weblogic on MAC

i All,
I have MacBookPro. I downloaded net_wls1032_generic.jar weblogic jar file and trying to install on my MbBookPro. In installer window, i give Oracle Home then in next window it ask me to
Specify a location where installer will place any downloaded archive ........ so I give storage directory name and choose the option "remove downloaded files when installer exit........."
Click next ... and then installer keeps giving me following error ..............
Insufficient Disk space ! The installer requires :
5 mb temporary workspace at /var/folder/ab/abc ........................
There is only 1 MB available at /Users/deardon/Orcle/Middleware
Now the thing is, my MachintoshHD has 220 GB space available......... So why this weird error in weblogic installer on MAC ??????
Any idea ?
thanks,
PP

In this blog (http://avernet.blogspot.com/2008/02/installing-bea-weblogic-on-mac-os-x.html) they say you have
to add -XX:MaxPermSize=128m to the MEM_ARGS property in the setDomainEnv.sh file.
This file is located in the directory <middleware-home>/user_projects/domains/<your-domainname>/bin

  • Weblogic 5.1 SP9 problems with MAC OS 9 w/ MRJ 2.2.5 [InterruptedIOException]

    Hello all,
We're having a problem with one of the beans running on our WebLogic server.
    A quick summary:
The application is a standalone java application that
interfaces with a Weblogic 5.1 SP9 running on a Solaris box.
The clients are a mix of Windows machines and Mac OS 9 (with OS X
coming down the line, but that is not feasible at this time
to consider a massive upgrade). Due to the limitations
of the JVM for OS 9, we are forced to run MRJ 2.2.5 on the
Mac and JRE 1.1.9 on the Windows machines.
The general flow of data is a request is made from the client app
to the WebLogic bean. The bean calls another class method which
retrieves data from the the backend database (Sybase or SQL Server 2000).
We've verified that the data comes back from the query, is placed
in an array, and is in the same state when the EJB prepares to 'return'
the data to the client. This works as expected on the Windows machines,
however, every so often, the Macs will give an
InterruptedIOException: send timed out error. Once the server times
out (after 240 seconds), the client can continue until the next
    error.
A few additional pieces of info.
The data returned is an array, but there isn't any consistancy to the
size of the data set. Some will be single element arrays while others
will have 8-10 elements. The amount of data in each element is only
a string of a couple hundred characters, so it is not a large data
stream. Systems on the same network segment can go for a while (sometimes
going on 10 minutes) before getting this error, while remote offices
going over slower links will get an immediate InteruptedIOException.
We have a process in place that if it catches an InterruptedIOException
it loops and tries the procedure again, however a 4 minute wait
between loops just isn't acceptable. We tried lowering this by
placing the following lines into our weblogic.properties file:
    weblogic.system.periodLength=15
    weblogic.system.idlePeriodsUntilTimeout=4
However, this has had zero impact on the timeout. Are there programatic
ways of changings these values? Or to force a blocking connection that
will force the data pipe to stay open? Has anyone had any insight into
any similar problems? Unfortunately, due to the size of the company,
the environment is fixed, and no mass upgrades are a vaiable option.
    Thanks all!

    Hi Cliff,
it seems as if we have a similar problem within WLS51sp13 and a Java
Client (Servlet within Tomcat). We found that an EJB Stub within the
Client App has a 180s timeout, if the server socket didn't close
(Network problem or similar). I friend gave me a hint setting this
parameter on both sides, client and Server: It works. It seems as if the
server takes the bigger value of both values set.
    Greetings,
    schnaggy:-)

  • MP3 upload fails from Firefox from Mac on podcast weblog; Safari, IE OK

    Hello --
We're running a podcast weblog on Tiger (10.4.7) server. It's been running well for a year, but recently (after running software update) MP3 uploads from Firefox 1.5 or 2.0.0.1 or other Mozilla browsers on Mac OS X will not attach. The text of the post is loaded, but the attachment does not go through. MP3s are fine when attached from Safari, or from IE or Firefox on Win.
    I've verified that Blojsom's Plugin-admin-upload.properties allows audio/x-mpeg,audio/mpeg3,audio/x-mpeg3,audio/x-mpeg-url,audio/mpeg-url,audio/mp 3, audio/mpeg, audio/x-m4a, audio/m4b, application/pdf
Oddly, I can upload a pdf fine as a "podcast" attachment from Firefox on Mac, so it's not a general problem with attachments.
I've also confirmed that mpeg defined as a mime type in /Library/Tomcat/Blojsom_root/webapps/root/WEB-INF/web.xml, which makes sense since MP3s can be added from Safari, etc.
Is there something different about the way the Mac version of Firefox sends MIME info to the server? Does anyone have suggestions for what might be going on and how to fix it?
    Thank you.
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

OK, finally worked this out. I saw in the blojsom logs that the mime type mpg was failing to be recognized. I added audio/mpg to the plugin-admin-upload.properties file and now Firefox is working again from the Mac.

  • WebLogic 11g for EMC Suite on Windows7 in Parallels VM on Mac

I admit it's a quite adventurous environment, but I gave it a try and succeeded with the installation and configuration of the ECM Suite so far - at least I did not get any errors during the installation.
But when I try to start the Admin server I do get some very strange errors:
When I use the link from the Windows start menu <path to user_project>/Start Admin Server for Weblogic Server Domain - the cmd window opens and I get the error msg (sorry I have a German environment and try to translate properly):
"\Parallels\Parallels" kann syntaktisch an dieser Stelle nicht verarbeitet werden" - Parallels\Parallels can not be processed syntactically at this place/context ...
First I thought this is because of the existing shell script with the same name. So I tried to start it in the DOS box manually by using the startWebLogic.cmd command -> same result.
When I try to start it directly from the /bin directory I get the following error msg:
"Die eingegebene Zeile ist zu lang" - The entered line is too long ....
I traced the the start script to the place where the error occured - setDomainEnv where the EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES are set. The variable contained already around 2000 chars (all about Oracle home etc.) before the script wants to extent the variable. I tried to clear the variable before it is set to check if the script would proceed properly, but then the same error occurred in call "%WL_HOME%\common\bin\commEnv.cmd" which is before the EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES are set. I'm not a scripting person, but I fear I'm hunting a ghost by checking/tracing the scripts ... :-(
I'm new to Weblogic and EMC/UCM in general and may have missed a crucial step in the installation instructions. Are there some basic environment variables missing to make the start-script run? The Admin server should be able to run (or even ask for the weblogic password) regardless of an ECM deployment, correct?
Does anybody have ideas? Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Susanne

The "\Parallels\Parallels kann syntaktisch an dieser Stelle..." is a little weird, could you paste
the contents of your setDomainEnv file.
There are some known problems with WebLogic running on Mac OS (i know you are running it
under a Windows Virtual Machine, that Parallels stuff). Usually you have to edit the setDomainEnv
and look for the MEM_ARGS and add the parameters -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m.
This prevents an out-of-memory exception when using the SUN JVM.

  • "Invalid Java Home" when installing Weblogic 10.3.1 on Mac OS X 10.6

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to install the generic [Weblogic 11g (10.3.1)|http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls/wls1031_generic.jar] on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), which supposedly has a JDK 1.6 installed.
It can't seem to find a JDK, and when I tell it to use the following:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home
I get an "Invalid Java Home" error.
Has anyone successfully done this on OS X 10.6?

Just as an update, we're soon to release the WLS 11g R1 PS2 update, which will contain WLS 10.3.3 just to confuse things.
As part of that, we're distributing for the first time, an additional .zip version of WLS to make it easier for developers.
The zip file distribution has no GUI installer -- it's a simple case of unzip, run a script it provides, then start the server.
The zip file distribution has been specifically tested on Mac OS X and the WLS config/domain scripts automatically adjust as necessary for the Mac OS X java environment.
Once the zip file distribution is available, we hope that developing against WLS on Mac OS X (and Windows/Linux) will be an easier task.

  • TopLink issues using Weblogic Server 8.1 SP3 and MAC OS X with Oracle 9i

Hi, I have successfully deployed my EJB (entity bean) on WLS 8.1 (the generic version) on Mac OS X. I also have installed Apple jdk 1.4.2 and everything seems to be ok. The server came up without any problem and can connect to my Oracle DB. I verify this from Weblogic console. However, when I try to access the bean (create/find), I got this AbstractMethodError exception. Can anyone help ?

  • Starting WebLogic. Admin (Mac and WLS v12c)

    Hi all,
I'm new to WebLogic (using it for a class), and we are supposed to use the WebLogic.admin utility…but I don't know how to get it to start! I need to know how to start it and issue commands, etc.
Here is a c+p from an email I sent to someone asking for help: "The next thing is really important, because it has to do with the WebLogic.admin utility. In short, I can't seem to find it. I tried searching with finder (Mac's "My Computer" type thing), and nothing comes up. What is more interesting is that when I try to run the setDomainEnv.sh script, nothing happens. Meaning, I give terminal the command, and it simply moves to the next line when I click ENTER, and nothing is printed to the screen. Theoretically, it could be doing something, but I find it hard to imagine that since it doesn't print anything out. I somewhat suspect these two things are related.
I thought maybe the Mac version doesn't have it, but due to the setDomainEnv.sh business, I suspect I'm just missing something…"
Thanks for any help you can give!

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11035_01/wls100/admin_ref/cli.html
To use weblogic.Admin, first run the setWLSEnv script (this is located in the $WL_HOME/server/bin directory), for example,
    [weblogic@blabla bin]$ . ./setWLSEnv.sh
    CLASSPATH=...
    PATH=...
    Your environment has been set.
    [weblogic@blabla bin]$ java weblogic.Admin -url blabla.com:7001 -username weblogic_admin_username -password weblogic_admin_password PING 10

  • Is weblogic 8.1 sp4 maps with 'Mac' address while installing.

I have issue with weblogic which is running currently, I have decided to copy the dump to different system and run. Will this work, does the new system require same IP address and 'Mac' address(Physical address) as old system. Is weblogic 8.1 installation maps with 'mac' address? please awnser.

    Hi,
The license.bea file includes the ip addresses that are are authorized. This is not MAC sensitive. If you are not transitioning your IP address to the new system, you will need a new license.bea file. Either use elicense.bea.com or open a support case for this.

    could you help me please?
    olivier.

    hey jan :
I have another issue : I would like to use in jdeveloper JSF and primefaces, which is a component library.
but if JSF works well, I can't install primefaces : I right-click on the properties of my project, add the primefaces jar in the libraries, and add a taglib (<%@ taglib uri="http://primefaces.prime.com.tr/ui" prefix="p" %>) in my JSF page.
but I have an arror while deploying the project.
    and (is it a clue?) there is no completion of the "<p: ..." tags;
but there is a window in jdeveloper : http://www.imageshotel.org/images/lolveley/apturede769cran20101017a76813.png that I can't fill ; could you help me by telling me whatr to do?
    please
    olivier

  • Weblogic 9.2 server not starting up : Could not create the Java virtual mac

    Hi
    I have created Weblogic domain.
Now I am trying to bring my server up by using the startWeblogic.cmd present in domain\bin.
I get the following error -

I checked all configurations. All seem fine but I am surely missing something.
I recreated the domain thinking I messed up something but that did not help.
I tried using jrockit instead of sun jdk. It still could not create JVM.
    I really appreciate any help!
    Regards,
    Smita

Extra dash in the java start line ( before the weblogic.Server ):
    -Dweblogic.Name=portalServer -Djava.security.policy=D:\bea\WEBLOG~1\server\lib\weblogic.policy - weblogic.Server
might be why you get the message:
    Unrecognized option: -
I can get the same error with this example:
    /bin> java -
    Unrecognized option: -
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

  • Weblogic 12c on Mac OS X: Cannot build SAMLSSO sample

I'm trying to build the SAML sample which comes with WLS 12c (/Oracle/Middleware/wlserver_12.1/samples/server/examples/src/examples/security/samlsso). I'd like to create both a SAML 2.0 IdP and SP and test them before I attempt to integrate a 3rd party IdP with WLS as SP. I'm following the instructions found at /Oracle/Middleware/wlserver_12.1/samples/server/index.html which indicate I should do the following:
Create and configure the IdP domain: ant prepareIdentityProviderServer
Create and configure the SP domain: ant prepareServiceProviderServer
In both cases the domains are creates, the server starts and I see the configIDPServer (and configSPServer) being called. In the case of the IdP I see the following, correct, output:
    configIDPServer:

    BUILD FAILED
Is this sample broken? Any ideas on what the problem could be? I should note that I can manually start the server from a new command shell, connect to the console, etc. so the domain seems fine except when started from WLST.

I was able to work around this by modifying the prepareServers.xml ant import. Specifically I did the following:
    1. Setup the environment
    2. ant prepareIdentityProviderServer
    3. Server started, killed the script
    4. Repeated 2-4 for the SP
    5. Modified the prepareServerController target in prepareServers.xml by commenting out the ant-call target="stopServer" and target="createServer"
    6. ant prepareIdentityProviderServer (which remarkably worked despite needing to stop and restart the server with the same startServer target)
    7. ant prepareServiceProviderServer
Could this be a bug in the wlserver task? startServer looks like this (hangs when it has to create a domain, works fine when a domain already exists)
