  • Unable to start weblogic server back end in linux

    Hi All,
          i am  going to start weblogic 10.3.6 in production environment by using below commend but it gives error:
           >cd /usr/app/oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/base_domain
            >nohup startWebLogic.sh &
           But when I use this command I am getting this output:
         -bash-3.2$ nohup ./startWebLogic.sh &
      -bash-3.2$ nohup: appending output to `nohup.out'
    Can someone please help me in this.
    Thank you,
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
    That it's the normal behavior when you use a nohup command, all the output is getting saved into a nohup.out file that you can find in the same location where the startWeblogic.sh file resides..
    If you do:
    tail -f nohup.out
    You will find all the output.
    Also if you want to see the last 200 output lines do:
    tail -fn 200 nohup.out
    The advantage of using nohup is that if you are using a ssh client you can close the client and the process will keep running.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Carlos

    Hi..
    They changed a few things in 10.3.. see http://edocs.bea.com/common/docs103/install/silent.html#wp1044118
    looks like the Server sub category has changed to Core Application Server..
    If you checkout the log.txt file in the logs directory of the root where you've installed a copy using the gui, it generally lists all the installation options available.

    htm=text/html

    jpg=image/jpeg
    svg=image/svg+xml
    Can any body let us know the resolution for the same.
    We are using IE 9 and simple img tag of html
    The weblogic server is deployed on linux os

    Hi Kishore,
    Thanks for the reply. Though our issue is that when we execute through IDE (Eclipse Juno) the tag works with IE9. It stops working when deployed on Weblogic 11g server. We can not use object/embed tag as we have business specific functionality which works only for img tag. We have tried the mime mappings in Weblogic but that does not seem to work. Could you kindly let us know if you are aware of such an issue.

              RedHat linux 6.1
              BEA Weblogic server 5.1
              Apache web server 1.3.19 (WLS supports the plug-in)
              I have enabled DSO support and verified this using
              {APACHEHOME}/bin/httpd -l which lists mod_so.c as one of its
              components
              I have installed and activated the plug-in using apxs
              To verify that the plug-in was installed I did this:
              %grep weblogic {APACHEHOME}/conf/httpd.conf
              which returns
              LoadModule weblogic_module libexec/mod_wl.so
              BUT NOT:
              AddModule mod_weblogic.c
              I have checked {APACHEHOME}/src/modules/standard and that does not
              contain the file. Please could someone mail me the source file
              "mod_weblogic.c" or enlighten me as to why this not happening.
              Many thanks in advance,
              Kevin

    What exact problems are you having? I'm using WLS 5.1 SP5 + apache
    1.3.12 + mod_ssl just fine.
