Weblogic server terminated abnormally when doing web stress test

Hi folks,
I used MS Web Application Stress Test tool to test our web application deployed
on weblogic server 6.1 sp2. I set the tool to run with 20 threads concurrently.
And I recorded a script with 300 requests and there are 10 milliseconds delays
between each request. After running that test for one hour or so I got an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException.
The welogic server was dead. I had to kill that process to restart the server.
I tried this testing procedure serveral times. Sometimes I came across the same
problem, but sometimes didn't.
The machine running WL6.1 is a Red Hat Linux server with 2 CPU and 1 GB RAM.
Does someone knows why this occurs and how to prevent this problem?
Thanks to anyone who give me some advise.
The stacktrace is below:

    "Server https-WEB: CORE0125 The server terminated abnormally with error code 0, An attempt will be made to restart it. "
    This happens every time I reboot the server or logoff. It has no ill effect on the server itself except generating these event log errors I am using Sun One 6.1 SP 1 on a wondows 2003 server. I have to resolve this beofore I can go any furthur in my project. Any help? This error comes up for both the web servive and the admin service.

    Thanks to a post I just discovered, I have solved this problem.
    The JVM within Sun Web Server is accepting kill signals from Windows when users logoff. When the JVM dies, apparently the web server service just dies as well. It's a long story and I don't really care to understand it fully.
    You can refer to the thread I found for the solution of passing the JVM a startup option to ignore these signals.
    http://swforum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=16&threadID=23382
    Or, you can just disable the JVM completely as I did. Though there is a checkbox for this for user-defined servers under the Java tab. I couldn't find where to do this for the admin server itself, so I commented out the line in magnus.conf that loads j2ee-plugin.dll.
    We'll see if this causes any other problems, but so far so good.

  • Windows Mail - Server Terminating Connection when ...

    This is a message related to a very well established forum full of many, many irate BT customers. I'm posting this long standing complaint here because in the forum I speak of, we are all being totally ignored by BT.
    BT, after months of dissatisfaction, can you (a) acknowledge / confirm the problem and (b) fix the problem.
    Here is the link to the forum in question - 8 pages worth of extremely dissatisfied and angry posters:
    http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/Windows-Mail-Server-Terminating-Connection-when-download...
    If you don't take action, I (and many others, I'm sure) will go public on this issue.
    At the end of the day, we don't want to continue paying for service that doesn't deliver!

    To both people who replied to my post - I know only to well what forums are for but I'm so angry that all our posts in the forum (the one with 8 pages worth) just evapourate into thin air. You have to question the intrinsic value of at least some of these forums. I don't speak by any means for all forums but in ours we are all at our wits end - and furious because we are paying good money to BT for a "service" that doesn't deliver.
    It's not good enough despite you correcting me as to where I should and shouldn't post. Have a look at the forum and you'll see what I mean. Yes - we have supported one another but we now all know exactly what the pronblem is after many months. The Sage has made around 4 posts all of which advocate we should all change to IMAP but this is missing the whole point. Our BT e-mail service is supposed to work through POP3 and indeed BT has standard POP3 settings for mail clients.
    Myself and numerous people have been through all the official help and support channels to no avail. Customer Service is really poor. They tell you to follow a standard set of instructions by way of a "fix" but they refuse to recognise the issues we have.
    But to finish, where do we all go from here when (a) many people have known for months what the issue is - it's a BT Yahoo server-side problem and (b) many people have reported this long standing issue (since Feb-12 or earlier) through the official BT support channels and still nothing has been done.
    OK. No more posts from me. I'm at my wits end and both your replies have discouraged me from participating any longer. Very disappointing.

    See case #188305. There is not a whole lot of information there and we really don't like to reproduce this.
    If it happens again we will add more info to the case. In the log file we have seen 'class not found' for
    weblogic.utils.... classes before it shuts down. Boot it again under no load and it comes up fine.

    Hmm.. that's interesting.
    What version of WLS, SP-level? what 's the avg load that you are putting on WLS? Is it in a clustered environment? what
    the min/max heap size, executeThreadCount etc...
    Any other details that you can provide us would be helpful for us to debug further.

    We have seen this as well when load testing. It's hard to ignore the WL server shutting down by itself for no reason.

    You will only see this, if WLS shutdown is commenced and if you try to PING the server.

  • When does Web Start try and connect to Sun

    How can I make it so web start doesn't try to connect to sun ever? I want it to check for updates only to our application and I don't want it to try and access the Internet. Thanks.

    I've heard the JWS installer looks in the Windows Registry for already installed Java Runtime
    Environments (JREs), version 1.2.2 and higher, and automatically configures Java Web
    Start to use them and that it also installs version 1.3.0_03 if it is not there. Does this mean that if I already have that version installed it won't go out to Sun's website? It seems to me that after JWS is installed it tries to access the internet each time it is run. Anyone know?

  • PL/SQL  Web Service fails when deployed to WebLogic server

    I have a web service generated via JDeveloper from a PL/SQL package. It runs fine both when tested in JDeveloper and when the WAR file is manually deployed to the Integrated WebLogic Server. However, when the WAR file is deployed to our actual WebLogic server, it fails. Other existing web services that were not generated with the JDeveloper wizard work correctly. I am having trouble finding any references to this type of issue to solve it. Are there any ideas what might be causing the WSDL to fail?
    References:
    * JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.
    * No proxies are involved.
    * The PLSQL package is a basic function that returns varchar2 input fed in by one parameter:
    create or replace package body pkg_ws_test as
    function test_me (p_anything_in varchar2)
    return varchar2 is
    begin
    return p_anything_in;
    end test_me;
    end pkg_ws_test;
    * Top of error stack is as follows:
    oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlapi.SoapTestException: WSDLException: faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: Failed to read WSDL from http://svr:8892/wsTest2-getSame-context-root/TestMePort?wsdl: HTTP connection error code is 500 at oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlparser.ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.getParsedWSDL(ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.java:157) at oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlparser.ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.getParsedWSDL(ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.java:87) at oracle.sysman.emas.model.wsmgt.WSTestModel.init(WSTestModel.java:325) at
    ...

    Hi,
    The below error trace you've provided doesn't confirm that Weblogic server has thrown the error.
    oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlapi.SoapTestException: WSDLException: faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: Failed to read WSDL from http://svr:8892/wsTest2-getSame-context-root/TestMePort?wsdl: HTTP connection error code is 500 at oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlparser.ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.getParsedWSDL(ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.java:157) at oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlparser.ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.getParsedWSDL(ParsedWSDLFactoryImpl.java:87) at oracle.sysman.emas.model.wsmgt.WSTestModel.init(WSTestModel.java:325) at
    Please paste complete stacktrace of the error to check and also include the caused by section in the error.
    Thanks,

  • Integrating WebLogic Server with CA SiteMinder Web Agent R6

    Hi I have searched on the topic of integrating WebLogic Server with the CA SiteMinder Web Agent R6 to provide single sign on services, and have been unable to find anything. Does anyone have any experience with this that could provide some tips, or could direct me to some documentation?

    It definitely can work. We have done the same thing in several installations. The question is "How secure does it need to be?" You will be using SM to do authentication. You will configure SSO to trust the SM header variable. If you really want to be secure you need to configure your boxes so that the http server on you SUSE box (for Portal) can only be accessed from the Reverse Proxy. If another machine can access it someone could spoof the header variable and log in as anyone they want.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Why weblogic server does not activate changes after bounce?

    Hi All,
    We are working with weblogic server 10.
    When ever changes are made in console, saved and activated , everthing seems fine.
    Once the server is bounced , last change which was made before bounce does not reflect in the console. All the changes before the last change looks good. Can someone please guide me in this?

    Your changes should be written into your domain's config directory tree ( config/jdbc would hold the various jdbc pool definitions ).
    Does your host / OS have some sort of delayed disk write?
    Also, when you activate your change in the console, you should be able to see the changes in the config directory's files on the admin server's host

  • Problem starting weblogic server

    Can I use third party libraries with the evaluation copy of the weblogic
    server?
    I am having problems starting the weblogic server with third party
    libraries (i.e. oralce's sqlj's translator.zip, runtime.zip and
    classes2.zip). The following exception is thrown when the server is
    initialising:
    Can someone explain what is wrong please?

    It appears that you have two different problems:
    1 -- you are using an expired certificate. You should download the
    latest version of the evaluation to get a new certificate.
    2 -- you should check out the documentation on using the
    Weblogic.class.path. That is where you should put all of your user
    classes including those that you get from Oracle.
    Thanks,

    I am having problems starting the weblogic server with third party
    libraries (i.e. oralce's sqlj's translator.zip, runtime.zip and
    classes2.zip). The following exception is thrown when the server is
    initialising:
    Can someone explain what is wrong please?

  • Exception in transaction commit when using Web Service Atomic Transaction

    Hi all,
    I am following this tutorial from Oracle on how to use WS-AT
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/e13734/transaction.htm
    A brief description about my application, which is wrote in JDeveloper:
    Two applications, one for web service and one for client.
    The WS is backed by an stateless EJB, which use JPA entity to do operations on the Oracle XE DB. The EJB transaction is container-managed, and the Entity Manager is retrieved from the JTA Datasource by using @PersistenceContext
    I put this on the EJB implementation class:
    @WebService(...)
    @TransactionAttribute(value = TransactionAttributeType.MANDATORY)
    @Transactional(version = Transactional.Version.WSAT10,
    value = Transactional.TransactionFlowType.MANDATORY)
    On the client application, I use another EJB to call the WS. The proxy and all generated types are created properly by JDev. I put this on the @WebServiceReference point in the client EJB:
    @Transactional(version = Transactional.Version.WSAT10,
    value = Transactional.TransactionFlowType.MANDATORY)
    The client EJB is also annotated with:
    @TransactionAttribute(value = TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRED)
    Both applications are deployed successfully in the integrated weblogic server. But when I run the method in the client EJB that call the WS to do a persisting operation on the DB, the following exception is thrown:
    javax.ejb.EJBException: BEA1-00227DF3AF249E472B1E: javax.transaction.xa.XAException: Failed state during prepare of WS-AT XAResource ...
    which causes:
    Exception occurred during commit of transaction Name=[EJB +_the client EJB's calling method_+
    The weird thing is, if I call a method which does a simple System.out.println (no DB related operation) then no exception is thrown.
    Furthermore, if I switch both WS EJB and client EJB to use bean managed transaction, the transaction is not propagated properly, as I see that UserTransaction in the WS EJB does not have the same status as UserTransaction in the Client EJB.
    Hence I'm suspecting that there is some issue during step 4 described in the Oracle documentation:
    "Server B receives the request for Application B, detects that the header contains a transaction coordination context and determines whether it has already registered as a participant in this transaction. If it has, that transaction is resumed and if not, a new transaction is started.
    *Application B executes within the context of the imported transaction. All transactional resources with which the application interacts are enlisted with this imported transaction*."

    Hi r035198x,
    Thanks for your help. The problem indeed is in the non-XA datasource I used for the EntityManager. I created datasource what uses XA Thin Oracle driver and everything works fine now, commit and rollback both work nicely.
    Again thanks a lot.

  • NPE creating a new session on WebLogic Server 9.2

    We're getting the following stack trace from WebLogic Server 9.2 when a page gets hit.
    It appears to be a clustering error when creating a new session.
    When there is only a single server left running, the pages are served correctly.
    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Hi Scott,
    Did you get to the bottom of this?
    We're experiencing exactly the same symptoms, except we're upgrading 8.1 -> 10.3
    App works fine on a single server, as soon as a second server is brought into the cluster we get the same exception.
    I'm checking the configs now for anything suspicious...

    Your problem is probably because SequenceEnt has not been deployed
    correctly - this beans needs to be deployed using a seperate connection
    pool with an isolation level of serializable to work correctly.

    Your weblogic-application.xml is malformed. Just google for the solution.
