WebLogic Server Tuning and Performance
We are having a very strange problem. We have a domain called "ABC". Under that domain, we have three sites (applications) "x", "y" and "z".
"x" take about 80-85% of load while other two shares remaining 15% of the load.
When we have high traffic, "x" stops responding with thread stuck error and other two sites are still functional.
Any suggestion to tune? Here is thread dump.

Weblog server licensing and 11.2 grid oms psu ?
Hello all,
I had couple of questions( i have already tried searching in the oracle docs and metalink notes, but could not find anything on it). First thing, looks like oracle 11g OEM Grid requires a Weblogic server. Which is fine, But wanted to know do we need to pay extra for this or is it part of oracle 11g OEM Grid diagnostic pack licensing?? If so, i was looking for a official answer (metalink doc or oracle doc)
Also another thing that I was curious was OMS? Is OMS only at 11.1.0.1.0 version or can this be upgraded to oracle 11gR2? As from below link, i only see 11.1.0.1.0 software.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/index.html
The thing that confused me was this link below. As in the below doc, it says to apply patch 10270073 to OMS home(psu patch). So i was wondering, after PSU patch is applied. Is the OMS going to be at 11.2.0.2.1 ??
http://camoraict.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/install-oracle-enterprise-manager-11gr1-on-oracle-vm2.pdf
Patch 10270073
11.2.0.2.1 Patch Set UpdateEnterprise Manager Restricted-use License
•Enterprise Manager includes a restricted-use license of the Oracle Database for use as the Oracle Management Repository only.
Additional database options or additional servers for disaster recovery require separate licensing. Customers receive one single-instance database with the Grid Control, or RMAN, repository. To protect the repository with Data Guard, customers need to purchase a license for the standby site. To protect the repository with Oracle Real Application Clusters, customers must license the second node for the database, and both nodes require an Oracle Real Application Clusters license.
•Use of Oracle WebLogic Server with Oracle Enterprise Manager is restricted to the servlet functionality without clustering for the Oracle Management Server (OMS).

Weblogic server10.3.3 (Oracle Weblogic Server 11gR1) and sql server 2008db
Is SQL Server 2008 db supported for use with weblogic server 10.3.3
we use connection pools and XA and weblogic bundled drivers
we are planning an upgrade from 9.2mp3 to 10.3.3 weblogic server
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13196_01/platform/suppconfigs/configs103/103_over/supported_db.html#1179245
seems to indicate that only sqlserver 2005 is supported
Is there a more current version of the suported configurations that I am missing ?
Appreciate any feedback on this
Thanks
Best
Yeshwantcontact support for official policy. Technically, the drivers do support the DBMS version.
If you use any higher API than JDBC, there might be a question as to whether a
particulare API was certified with the latter DBMS version, but unless the DBMS
changed so it behaved differently than the previous for the same activity, then
there should be no problem.... -
What is the difference between WebLogic Server users and Portal users
Hi All
What is the difference between users created in the WebLogic server and those
created from the webLogic Portal Admin console.
- leoHi Leo,
The WebLogic server console allows you to create users in the File realm (
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/cnfgsec.html#1057106 , "Defining
Users" ).
The WebLogic Portal Admin console creates Portal users in the alternate security
realm that was written to store user/password in the Portal schema. This realm is
com.bea.p13n.security.realm.RDBMSRealm. See the javadoc for RDBMSRealm at (
http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/javadoc/wlp/com/bea/p13n/security/realm/RDBMSRealm.html
For information on alternate security realms see
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/security/prog.html#1041025 , "Writing a Custom
Security Realm".
For information on the File realm see
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/ConsoleHelp/security.html , "Security" and also
search the WLS 6.1 docs for "File realm" for lots of other references.

Hi to all.
This is my first post on this forum. I've a problem parsing an xml document with JAXB. I've realized a web application that runs on WebLogic Server 11g.
This piece of code works fine in a standalone application and doesn't work in this one. A null pointer exception is thrown when I try to read iV.getVoucherBasiscCode. Have you got a solution for me. Some suggestion???
JAXBContext jc;
try {
jc = JAXBContext.newInstance("test.Bean");
Unmarshaller u = jc.createUnmarshaller();
JAXBElement<PropagateVoucher> j =
(JAXBElement<PropagateVoucher>)u.unmarshal(new FileInputStream("C:\\WebLogicLogs\\POL\\Voucher3.xml"));
PropagateVoucher ds = j.getValue();
VoucherIss vI = ds.getVoucherIss();
System.out.println(vI.getVoucherBasisCode());
System.out.println(vI.getVoucherIssuanceInfo().getInventorySegmentKey());
} catch (JAXBException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
Thanks a lot.

View weblogic server logs and application logs
Hi All,
Is there any way to view log files of Weblogic Admin Server, managed server and application logs through OEM console. ( In text editor-- full file / tail -f output)..
Thanks | KranthiThanks Rob.
Even from Weblogic Admin console we cannot view complete log file only some components are shown.
Just thinking will it be a good idea to execute shell script to view log file from Target-Execute Host Command.

WebLogic Server crash and Stack Trace Log
Hello? ^-^
Current system details:
SEQUENT Dynix/ptx v 4.4.7
Classic VM (1.2.1, green threads)
WebLogic 5.1
Apache 1.3.20
Current System crashes down too often and web service can not be available.
Heres a stack trace of the process when it has locked up.
The entire stack trace log file is...
http://members.tripod.lycos.co.kr/bach1685/dump.txt
Could it be possible to think this is the problem between JVM and OS library?
If this is a problem of OS, I think that Just changing OS could solve the problem.
How would I go about trying to figure out just where the problem is?
Thanks for readming my broken English...^^Make sure you have a supported platform -
http://www.weblogic.com/platforms/index.html
For JDK 1.2.1 - pay attention to what the platform page says about setting JVMARGS.

How to make integrated weblogic server use log4j
Hi all,
I use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6, WL 10.3 on Win7. JDK 1.6.0.3x64
I tried to configure for 1 day during according to guides and informations on net. But i can not make it works unfortunately. Just after i start wls, encountered this:
<14-12-2012 10:42:00 o'clock EET> <Error> <Log Management> <BEA-170022> <Log4j failed to initialize for DefaultServer. The default JDK Logging implementation will be used.

I followed up basically through those links log4j Configuration in Standalone Weblogic Server - ADF and http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/logging/config_logs.html#using_log4j
I changed Logging implementation as Log4j from JDK: http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=72YU
I created log4j.xml file under my %DOMAINHOME%\config : http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=JHLI
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd">
<log4j:configuration>
<appender name="CONSOLE" class="org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender">
<param name="Threshold" value="INFO"/>
<layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
<param name="ConversionPattern"
value="%d{ABSOLUTE} %-5p [%c{1}] %m%n"/>
</layout>
</appender>
<appender name="FILE" class="org.apache.log4j.DailyRollingFileAppender">
<param name="File" value="/log/daily.log"/>
<param name="Append" value="false"/>
<!-- Rollover at midnight each day -->
<param name="DatePattern" value="'.'yyyy-MM-dd"/>
<layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
<param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d %-5p [%c] %m%n"/>
</layout>
</appender>
<logger name="org.apache">
<level value="WARN"/>
</logger>
<root>
<level value="DEBUG"/>
<appender-ref ref="FILE"/>
<!-- <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE"/> -->
</root>
</log4j:configuration>
i copied log4j.jar, wllog.jar into my %DOMAINHOME%\lib : http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=BYB3
Even i copied commons-logging-1.0.4.jar and com.bea.core.weblogic.commons.logging_1.4.0.0.jar files into the lib folder and then i set CLASSPATH accordingly, result was negative.
I added these lines into startWeblogic.cmd
@REM customized here for log4j
set LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE=%DOMAIN_HOME%\config\log4j.xml
set SAVE_JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Dweblogic.log.Log4jLoggingEnabled=true -Dlog4j.debug -Dlog4j.configuration=%LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE%
set SAVE_CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%DOMAIN_HOME%\config;
Additionally, i have tried adding log4j.jar into sysyem classpath becuse of classloading problem suspicion: http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=7Y3N after view this link http://www.coderanch.com/t/479763/BEA-Weblogic/Log-Weblogic-ClassNotFoundException
Thanks in advance...
Edited by: webyildirim on 14.Ara.2012 02:45I resolved the exception; Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 was setted up on my pc as well. That was the cause of problem. System was looking some paths on 11.1.1.4 server folders that belong to 11.1.14 version.
Now, created server log which i defined in log4j.xml but no log line found in file, nothing logged according to log4j.xml config file and wls still writes its own log into its own log file which is under $domain_home$\servers\DefaultServer\logs\DefaultServer.log. What might be the reason?

JoltConnectionPool can not start in weblogic server
Hi
I am trying to run the sample Tuxedo provided application which uses Servlets or Ejb.
Now the Tuxedo Server has been configured and running properly.
I have WebLogic Server installed and had created the JoltSessionPool with name "MAJoltConnectionPool" and had also defined the StartupClass & ShutdonClass.
While defining the JoltSessionPool i had given min services as 1 and max services as 5 and others as default,
and the JoltSessionPool's target is a weblogic managed server which named ct2.
Then i tryed to start the ct2 server on command line such as:
startManagedWebLogic.cmd ct2 http://localhost:7001
I got an error in starting "MAJoltConnectionPool" but the server ct2 is starting normally.
Anyone who can help me to find out the reason? Thanks a lot.
The Command Line window shown following in the Log:
Failed to invoke startup class "MAJoltPoolStart", java.lang.Exception: Errors in starting the following connection pools :

With Regards
HanHi
To resolve this problem , you have 2 solutions:
- modify the config.xml file to add in the tag <security-configuration> the following line :
<clear-text-credential-access-enabled>true</clear-text-credential-access-enabled>
or
- check the checkbox "Clear Text Credential Access Enabled" in the settings for the domain / security / general / advanced
restart the weblogic server to activate this change if necessary (Normaly, no restarts are necessary with weblogic server v10.3.5.0)
Hope this reponse help you (if it's not too late ;-) )

64bit weblogic server installation on windows
Hi,
We are trying to install 64bit Oracle weblogic Server 10.3.2 on windows 2007 Server. As per the documentation, The installation requires 64bit java installation and then execute the wl_1032_server.jar file.
We installed weblogic Server successfully and did not find any errors while installing the weblogic server. We created one Managed Server with the default options. We are able to start the Admin Server with out any problems.
But we are unable to start the managed weblogic server and we are getting the following error message while starting the managed webserver.
I have also tried with setting the following memory args also. But I am getting the same error in the managedserver log files.
set MEM_ARGS=-Xms512m -Mmx1024m -MaxPermSize=512m
<Feb 19, 2010 11:57:01 PM EST> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000330> <Started WebLogic Managed Server "new_ManagedServer_1" for domain "base_domain" running in Production Mode>

The WebLogic Server encountered a critical failure

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space
<Feb 19, 2010 11:57:10 PM> <FINEST> <NodeManager> <Waiting for the process to die: 1848>
Can you please help us in configuring the 64bit weblogic server. Do we need to make any special configurations.
Thanks and Regards,
S R PrasadThanks,
You are right and I've found a documentation below. Did you checked your Environment Variables or try to use full path of 64 bit Java installation?
How do I select between 32 and 64-bit operation? What's the default? The options -d32 and -d64 have been added to the Java launcher to specify whether the program is to be run in a 32 or 64-bit environment. On Solaris these correspond to the ILP32 and LP64 data models, respectively. Since Solaris has both a 32 and 64-bit J2SE implementation contained within the same installation of Java, you can specify either version. If neither -d32 nor -d64 is specified, the default is to run in a 32-bit environment.
Other Java commands (javac, javadoc, etc.) will rarely need to be executed in a 64-bit environment. However, the -d32/-d64 options may be passed to these commands and then on to the Java launcher using the established -J prefix option (eg: -J-d64).
All other platforms (Windows and Linux) contain separate 32 and 64-bit installation packages. If both packages are installed on a system, you select one or the other by adding the appropriate "bin" directory to your path. For consistency, the Java implementations on Linux accept the -d64 option.
