Weblogic undeployment

HI ,
When I undeploy my app in weblogic does all classes belonging to my app are garbage collected ?...... the problem i am facing is when i undeploy my app in weblogic some classes are not GC and next time deploy and undeploy the same app the same set of classes are reloaded..
for example lets say i have class com.web.domain.APPConfig
when i undeploy com.web.domain.APPConfig is not GC when i Use reploy the app I see in jrockit mission control toll
classes loaded as
com.web.domain.APPConfig
com.web.domain.APPConfig
ideallly there should only be one class com.web.domain.APPConfig be loaded but it shows 2 and no goes on increasing as i deploy/undeploy

After undeploying an application, delete all the temp files of the application before deploying the next application.
This should help.

  • How to undeploy retired applications?

    Hi there! I'm new to Weblogic Server and to this forum as well.
    I am redeploying an application without any problem but before redeploying a new version I need to undeploy manually (through command line or webconsole) the old version of the app. My question is: how can the retired versions be deleted automatically when it is not active anymore? Do I need to create a script for that?
    Secondly, I don't need to keep all deployed versions of the app. How can I avoid it? Is it because I use the -upload action in the command:
    java -cp C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\weblogic.jar weblogic.Deployer -adminurl t3://192.168.100.221:7001 -user weblogic -password weblogic -redeploy -name App -source "C:\Users\516230\.jenkins\jobs\PGU PRODUCTIU\workspace\UniVic.ear" -targets AdminServer -upload
    Thanks!

  • Code to undeploy EJB modules only works outside of weblogic

    I have three applications, which we'll call "ejbapp", "deploysa", and "deployear" for reference. The "ejbapp" is just composed of individual EJB modules, using "classloader-structure" elements to put each EJB module in its own ClassLoader (to allow each EJB module to be individually undeployed). The "deploysa" is a standalone app that just uses "DeployerRuntimeMBean" to stop and start individual EJB modules in "ejbapp". The "deployear" app is an ear containing basically the same deployment logic that "deploysa" contains.
    When I run "deploysa", I can see it successfully undeploy an individual EJB module in "ejbapp".
    When I run "deployear", however, when it executes the "stop()" method, I see the following exception:
    NoAccessRuntimeException: Access not allowed for subject: principals=[], on ResourceType: DeployerRuntime Action: execute, Target: stop
    I've tried several variations of this. There are three overloaded versions of "DeployerRuntime.getDeployerRuntime()", and I've tried all three of them, including the one taking "user, pwd, url", which is the one that "deploysa" uses (successfully).
    I've googled for this error, but the only occurrences I've found are people reporting a problem like this, but without finding a solution.

    I've resolved this. As JPDs normally run with "anonymous" permissions, you have to set the "run-as" element on the underlying session bean to "weblogic". This can be done with the following in the javadoc comment block:
    @common:security run-as="weblogic"
    I believe it can also be set in the WLI console.

  • Please help me to undeploy web applications without starting weblogic.

    My colleague deployed his web application to my weblogic domain. However, the domain cannot be started after deployment. How to undeploy that application without starting the weblogic?
    I use weblogic 10.3.3. His application uses servlet and jsp and tests that application in weblogic 10.3.2

    Delete the application from the deploy directory. The domains/base_domain/autodeploy is the directory for auto deployed applications, which get deployed when server is started. Or, the domain's InstallDir directory.

  • Weblogic Server 10.0 automatic undeployment

    How can I perform common development cycle:
    code update - save - deploy - preview
    in Workshop?
    I'm running WLS under Workshop and when I start my Dynamic Web Project and then try to Publish changes I'm getting the exception that application is already running. The only way is to Undeploy it manually and then publish. Error log indicates that Workshop could not locate old version running on the server and therefore failed to deploy the new one:
    Error
    Tue Feb 05 00:00:54 EST 2008 Module named '' failed to redeploy.
    Tue Feb 05 00:00:54 EST 2008 Waiting on ProgressObject:@13678516
    Tue Feb 05 00:00:54 EST 2008 Module not found on server. Deploying.
    Tue Feb 05 00:00:54 EST 2008 ***dm.distribute (deploy)
    Changes to JSP files propagate to server without any effort on my account though - after I save changes they appear in the browser after I hit 'refresh' automatically. Problems arise when I update things like struts.xml or some of Action java classes - there's no way to publish them on the server short of undeploying them manually first.
    Any help would be greately appreciated.

  • Issue Undeploying and Deployment Application in Weblogic Cluster

    We have a production environment wich has one cluster with 40 servers in it. The problems lies when we select one application to undeploy. Weblogic response in administration console says that the undeploy is finished, but when I try to deploy another version of the application it only affect one of the 40 servers of the cluster, the other 39 servers are still with the old version of the application in memory.
    If I restart all the servers it works and all the 40 server get the new version of the application.
    Now we want to do continuous deployment and scripting all the deploy process and we don't want to restart all the 40 servers every deploy.
    Is there any limit of servers in a cluster? I'm saying this because it didin't occur in the stage environment with one cluster with 5  managed servers.
    Do I need any specific node manager configuration to undeploy this 40 managed servers?
    I look in the internet and didin't find any issues related to this.

    Sharmela,
    Looks like the undeploy command did not clean up the stage directories of the managed server properly.
    There is no limit on the number of managed servers in a cluster or in a domain. But again you need to plan the number based on the hardware and memory settings.
    We have two hexalogics, the problem here is not hardware.
    Do I need any specific node manager configuration to undeploy this 40 managed servers?
    What exactly you mean by undeploying managed server ?  You want to remove them or  bring them down ?
    Sorry about that, I want to know what should I do to undeploy the application properly in the 40 managed servers(not bringing them down). I've heard something about staging mode but i've already tried to put ---nostage paramenter and the result was the same.
    Do you have any clue why weblogic is not cleaning the stage directories? Is there any way to force it without restarting all the servers?
    Thank you very much,
    Gustavo

  • Can not programmatically undeploy the application from a Weblogic Server

    Hi experts,
    I have a weblogic client application that is used to deploy/undeploy the application to weblogic server. The following code call undeploy() method to undeploy the application. But I still can see the application shown in the admin console after undeploying the app. Click the link of the app and the status is shown as "remove Successful".
    // source codes
    String protocol=”t3″;
    String hostName=”localhost”;
    String portString=”7001″;
    String adminUser=”weblogic”;
    String adminPassword=”weblogic”;
    WebLogicDeploymentManager deployManager=SessionHelper.getRemoteDeploymentManager( protocol,hostName,portString,adminUser,adminPassword);
    ProgressObject processStatus=deployManager.undeploy(new TargetModuleID[]{target}); //assume target is created already
    However I can successfully undeploy the application in oc4j server by calling the undeploy() API. Is there anything wrong with my code?

    Hi,
    Sometimes back i developed a JMX code to Deploy and Undeploy the Applications may be that's going to be helpful for you :

  • How to speed up frequent undeploy and deploy on weblogic server ?

    We have one web application deployed on a Weblogic Server (10.3).
    We use ANT and the wldeploy task ( http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs90/programming/wldeploy.html ) to UNDEPLOY and DEPLOY (frequently) the webapp.
    It seems to us that the entire process (RECOMPILE -> make WAR -> UNDEPLOY -> DEPLOY) , which is completely automatic (made by ANT), is too slow (about 1 minute) , especially the step of DEPLOY.
    Do exist some tricks to speed up the entire process ?
    We have 4/5 notebook (the developers PCs) and 1 remote Weblogic Server .
    (SORRY, some admin can move this thread on weblogic server forum ? Thanks)

    Just a suggestion: Try using iWS6.0SP2, it has some performance improvements.

  • How to undeploy BPM application from Weblogic server

    Hi everyone,
    I try to undeploy some bpm application on the weblogic, using the weblogic admin console, under the deployments section, check the bpm application and click the delete button, however, when the server restart, I still see the soa server loading the bpm application, what is the correct way to uninstall the bpm application?
    Please advise.

    Hi
    Its preferable and better to use em (enterprise manager console) to UnDeploy any SOA/BPEL applications. Infact this may be the only way you should undeploy. The reason is when you undeploy from EM console, first of all it removes all the instances from the SOA_INFRA database also and also from the deployed-composites under the soa domain root folder.
    Em Console URL: http://yourhost:yourport/em and use the same username/pwd that you use for normal admin console.
    If you still see the composites, check the deployed-composites folder under the domain root folder. And delete from there. Note that, all the SOA/BPEL composites are stored in the soa_infra database also.
    Thanks

    E:\bea\jdk131_02\bin\javaw -classpath E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\weblogic.jar;E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\webservices.jar;E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar; weblogic.Deployer -user system -adminurl http://localhost:7001 -password 12345678 -deploy -name firstWebApp -upload -source E:/J2EE/servlet/firstWebApp.war -targets myserver
    WebLogic Application Deployment Utility
    Usage: java weblogic.Deployer [options] [-activate|-deactivate|-remove|-unprepare|-cancel|-list] [files]
    where options include:
    -help Print this help message.
    -version Print version information.
    -adminurl <https://<server>:<port>> The URL of the administration server: default
    http://localhost:7001
    -user <user> A user other than the default of
    "installadministrator"
    -password <password> Specifies the password on the command line.
    If this option is absent the user is
    prompted.
    -verbose Displays additional status during the
    deployment process, including notifications
    when the application is prepared and
    activated on each target.
    -debug Displays debug level messages to the standard
    output.
    -examples Display example usage of this tool.
    -upload Causes the specified source file(s) to be
    transferred to the adminstration server. This
    is used when the Deployer tools is not being
    used on the same machine as the adminstration
    server and the user does not otherwise have
    access to place the targeted files on the
    adminstration server.
    -delete_files Causes the server to remove the files that
    are specified in the file list and leave the
    application activated. This option is valid
    only for unarchived web applications.
    -remote Signals that the tools is not runnning on the
    same machine as the adminstration server and
    that the source path should be made passed
    through unchanged as it represents the path
    on the remote server.
    -nostage Sets the stagingMethod attribute on the
    application mbean when it is created so that
    the application will not be staged and the
    original source is be used.
    -external_stage Sets the stagingMethod attribute on the
    application mbean when it is created so that
    the application will not be staged but the
    value of the staging path will be used when
    preparing the application.
    -stage Sets the stagingMethod staging attribute on
    the application when it is created so that
    the application will always be staged. This
    value will override the stagingMethod
    attribute on any targeted servers.
    -nowait Once the action is initiated the tool will
    print the task id and exit. This is used to
    initiate multiple tasks and then monitor them
    later using the -list action.
    -timeout <seconds> The maximum time in seconds to wait for the
    completion of the deployment task. When the
    time expires the current status is printed
    and the program exits.
    -source <archive file or directory> Location of the file or directory that
    represents the enterprise component or
    application tha is being (re)activated. If
    the source file is relative it is relative to
    the current directory, unless the -remote
    option is used. To specify individual files
    within an application for reployment or
    addition list them at the end of the command
    line.
    -name <application name> The name of the application being deployed.
    -targets <<server 1>,...<component>@<server N>> A comma separated list of the server and/or
    cluster names. Each target may be qualified
    with a J2EE component name. This enables
    different components of the archive to
    deployed on different servers.
    -id <task identifier> Optional client supplied unique identifier
    for the deployment task. The id is first
    specified to -activate, -deactivate,
    -unprepare or -remove. It is then used later
    as an argument to -cancel or -list.
    -activate (Re)activates the <source> application on the
    <targets> with the <name>.
    -deactivate Deactivates the application <name> on the
    <targets> leaving an staged application files
    in a state where the may be quickly
    reactivated.
    -unprepare Deactivates and unloads classes for the
    application <name> on the <targets> leaving
    an staged application files in a state where
    the may be quickly reloaded.
    -remove Deactivates the application <name> on the
    <target> and removes any files that were
    staged for this application. If there are no
    longer any targets for the application, the
    associated configuration is completely
    removed.
    -cancel Atempts to cancel the task <id> if it is has
    not yet completed.
    -list Lists the target status of each task <id>
    -deploy a convenient alias for activate.
    -undeploy a convenient alias for unprepare.
    Optionally a list of the specific files in the archive that are to be
    redeployed may be specified. If a directory is specified the entire subtree is
    redeployed.
    Full documentation on this tool is available at:
    http://edocs.beasys.com/wls/docs70/adminguide/utils.html#1138475
    No actions was specified. Please specify one and only one of:
    -activate, -deactivate, -cancel, -remove, -unprepare, or -list.
    Type java weblogic.Deployer -examples for example usage.

    you use "deploy" under DOS-Mode to deploy your web application?
    i found some differences between "deploy" and "redeploy" function in jbuilder 9.
    when i choose "deploy" ,jbuilder shows me the commond below:
    E:\bea\jdk131_02\bin\javaw -classpath E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\weblogic.jar;E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\webservices.jar;E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar; weblogic.Deployer -user system -adminurl http://localhost:7001 -password 12345678 -deploy -name firstWebApp -upload -source E:/J2EE/servlet/firstWebApp.war -targets myserver
    WebLogic Application Deployment Utility
    when i choose redeploy,it shows me: (the -deploy parameter has changed to -activate) ,maybe it's a bug.
    E:\bea\jdk131_02\bin\javaw -classpath E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\weblogic.jar;E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\webservices.jar;E:\bea\weblogic700\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar; weblogic.Deployer -user system -adminurl http://localhost:7001 -password 12345678 -activate -name firstWebApp -upload -source E:/J2EE/servlet/firstWebApp.war -targets myserver

    Hi
    Try to increase socket limits
    Normally you can do this within the admin console , Servers -> Configuration -> Tuning -> Socket Readers
    For you, since you can't login, set the ThreadPoolPercentSocketReaders in the config.xml to a higher value than 5

  • Migrating Application from JDev 10.1.3.5 to JDev 11.1.2.2.; WebLogic issues

    Hi,
    I've been in the process of migrating an application we have from JDev 10.1.3.5. to the most current release. This involved migrating from OC4J to the WebLogic Server. After clearing up code-related issues, I have been trying to mitigate errors that came from deploying the application to the WebLogic server. I fixed (or so I think) the original error(see immediately below in italics) by deleting the servlet tag in both of the web.xml files (ViewController and Deploy) that are within the application. I also changed it to 'adfLibResources' per a previous thread on this topic.

    Now I am getting the following errors:

    Can someone please provide insight/direction? I restarted this whole process because I was not sure if I was making mistakes. But I have received this same exact error both times in both copies of the application code.
    Thanks,
    M. Priester

    I think your web.xml that is a part of the application had the following:
    <taglib>
    <taglib-uri>
    http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces
    </taglib-uri>
    <taglib-location>
    /WEB-INF/lib/adf-faces-impl.jar
    </taglib-location>
    </taglib>
    I think this is not even your configuration but something that JDev added, thus you can consider testing removing this part of the code and test your application and verify the functionality.
    Regarding the possible issue during migration from 10g to 11g of Jdev, you can review the following thread:
    Class not found : oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.taglib.UIXPanelTag
    The missing class is a part of "adf-faces-impl-1013.jar" which seems to be specific to the JDev 10g, thus might not be even required by JDev11g.
    Also regarding the fact that how this seems to be an issue with missing class, please review the following API doc for better understanding of the classnotfoundexception:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/ClassNotFoundException.html

  • Error in running a simple JSF app developed in Jdeveloper over weblogic

    I have a developed a simple JSF application using Jdeveloper 11g.
    To this application i have added a webservice proxy which generates the proxy client which communicates with the peoplesoft webservice.
    when i run the standalone proxy class, it is able to connect to the webservice and get the required data.
    But as i deploy the whole JSF application (where the managed bean calls a method in the client) in Integrated weblogic server, i get an XMLStreamReaderException.
    To debug this issue i deployed the war file in apache-tomcat6.0.26 with all the reqquired libraries in the Lib folder, it actually worked , my jsf application was able to get the data from the webservice.
    This makes me think that there is some problem in the way Jdeveloper is packaging the application.I have added all the lib & jar through "libraries &classpath" setting on project properties.But i am sure there is some problem in this process.
    I just need some help in understanding how to package an application,how to make sure all lib & jar are included in the war file??
    Any help is appreciated.
    The error i get in the weblogic is

    HI
    First of all, how do you concluded that you're dealing with packaging problem?? It seems problem is in response from web service. The toolkit you have is not able to parse the soap response. Tomcat solves problem probably because of the different jars he has for web service client.
    In either way, i have personally experienced problems with JD packaging (11g). The WAR created by JD was working well in embedded WLS shipped with JD, but when deployed to production WLS 10.3.1, i got a "IO exception; premature end of file". The only solution was to create a WAR by ant.
    Here is ANT sample script for building java classes, packaging into war, deploying to WLS (for this last one, you need to reference external jar):
    <target name="build">
    <!-- compile -->
    <javac debug="true" debuglevel="${debuglevel}" source="${source_version}" target="${target_version}" destdir="${output.dir}">
    <src path="${src.location}"/>
    </javac>
    </target>
         <target name="war" depends="build">
    <delete file="${target_war_file}"/>
    <war destfile="${target_war_file}" webxml="src/WEB-INF/web.xml" manifest="/src/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF" update="true">
    <classes dir="${output.dir}"/>
    <lib dir="${build_libs.location}">
    <include name="**/*.jar"/>
    </lib>
    <!-- include important jsf files files -->
    <zipfileset dir="${path.to.conf.folder}" prefix="WEB-INF">
    <include name="adfc-config.xml"/>
    <include name="trinidad-config.xml"/>
    <include name="web.xml"/>

    For the above error, I commented the references of oracle.as.scheduler.RuntimeServiceRemote and oracle.as.scheduler.MetadataServiceRemote(I got an error for this EJB also) in web.xml.
    When I tried to run the page then, the deployment got completed and the browser is opened for the page, but got the below exception when the page is loaded.
