Webserver on compactrio problem

i'm trying to program a remote front panel / website to control a vi running on the RT of a singleboard RIO
the vi is just a control and led in a while loop (for testing)
i've tried:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7FEE6BCFD264175C8625723E000D928E
and
http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=275186&requireLogin=False
clear steps, but it doesn't work
i can make a remote frontpanel for a vi running on my pc, but not on the sbRIO.
the page wil load, but the vi doesn't show.
Can i get an example somewhere of how it is done?
also why do you need to make an executable?
are there any settings i should check?
thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Is there anything strange about these steps?
- create a new project: webpanel in my case
- add the RT-target: sbRIO in my case
- create a VI that´s gonna be the VI with the Frontpanel displayed in the Website later: named webpanel.vi
- test that VI by simply running it and therefore connecting to the target
- enable webserver on the target (rightclick the target in the LV-Project-Window)
- reboot the target
- build a website from the VI with the Web-Publishing Tool in LabVIEW/Tools
- copy that website down to the target via ftp
- create a new RT-Startup-Application under Build-Specifications in the Project Window
  and build that app
- deploy all to the target from the Project Window (Rightclick the Project.lvproj) -> i clicked the sbRIO target
- Reboot the target -> target disconnects after reboot, is that ok?
- type IP-Adress of target and hit ENTER to check if the webserver is started (default site must be loaded)
- finally type IP-Adress/Website.html to load the website
I can't connect to any website on the sbRIO, but can still ftp them, however ftp'ing and opening the webpanel.html i get this error:
thanks!

  • 877W router with Webserver inside - Strange Problem

    Hello,
    I have a strange problem and I cannot understand what is going on here. I hope that someone could help me.
    I configured 877W router. Setup Firewall and NAT. I setup access from outside for my PCAnywhere workstation and for my Webserver. PCAnywhere and Webserver are located on a local LAN interface.
    I cannot connect to the PCAnywhere at all. Something interesting is happening with the Webserver. I can connect to some basic pages with words only, for example page has a phrase ?Hello, this is a test?. If I try to open pages with some graphics on them, it cannot find the page. I cannot connect to ports 25, 80, or 110 on the Webserver (These ports are configured on the Firewall and configured with NAT).
    Because I can connect to basic web pages, I am sure that NAT and firewall are configured correctly.
    What can it be? Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Does telnet to the webserevr on port 80, 110 works ?
    If yes, then it is most likely be a packet size issue. O\Try reducing MSS on the LAN interface.
    int vlan1
    ip tcp adjust-mss 1400
    exit
    lower down the value, by 100 bytes till you get better results.

  • Ftp- and webserver setup, grouping problem

    Hello.
    I've got a server and installed cherokee and vsftpd as I thought it is a good choice to run a webserver with.
    I want to host a few domains and because of that I have to add certain ftp accounts so that they can upload stuff by themselves. Nothing new I am talking about.
    But my problem is how do I realize this best?
    cherokee runs as user `www` and group `www` as I read it is good to drop root previleges, which is basically even obvious.
    I created the needed users with a home directory in /home/www/$username because I thought this is a good place to keep the data files for the ftp account as well as the domain.
    But then a first problem occures. What if I grant more features to a certain user for example shell access. It would be nice if theres only one user name for each user and not user_ftp for ftp access, user_shell for shell access, etc. In order to archieve this I should put the files for ftp data into /home/username/ftp but vsftpd doesn't allow to change the ftp root directory to something other than the user's home directory or at least I don't know how to configure it.
    Is this solution not possible to realize in general or is it a problem of vsftpd (and I should run another ftp service) or is it just a lack of knowledge?
    Then further I noticed that every user can view other user's files because all files are owned by the group `users` and the chmod was something linke -rwxr-xr-x for the directories which isn't very secure. I thought: "Pah, easy to solve". Just change the chmod of each direcotory to -rwx------ as they're owned by the user. But then I realized that the webserver (www:www) cannot access the files anymore. "Bad luck", I thought, and changed the chmod of each file to -rw-r--- and made them being owned by the group `www`. "Very well", ran through my mind as all files and directories were owned by $user:www and have the "proper" chmod.
    But again vsftpd doesn't seem to like this. When I upload a file via ftp it creates a chmod like this:
    -rwx-------
    And the file is owned by $user:users. Pitty that this doesn't fit into my conecept. Well again there's the question if vsftpd causes the problem or I do.
    I mean, I'd like to set up a proper and secure web server but I don't know how to archieve it. Are my thoughts wrong or is vsftpd reaching its limits?
    I read through the vsftpd documentation but there was no solution to my problem.
    Is there a proper way to handle this or is it just a matter of opinion?
    What do you think is best?
    Thanks a lot.

    edit: I've already asked for help realting to a particluar problem of this post in this thread. I have to overread it or something. Sorry for that. : Is this the way to handle it or is it just a work-around. It seems to me as if it will run out of luck if my server becomes larger.

    I have also done port scans on my Airport Extreme N to ensure that the ports are open. They are.

  • Connection Reset on Oracle SOA-Suite 10.1.3.5.0 Apache-Webserver with SSLv3

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use SSL with my SOA-Suite 10.1.3.5.0 Webserver. This Problem occurs on both a windows and a linux machine. I'm referring to the windows-machine, as this has the latest patch-level. My problems are about the Apache-Webserver only. I didn't do any special configuration, and SSL is working fine in the Browser (FF3.5 and IE 8). But for Paypal IPN Notification i'm having serious troubles. I was able to track down the problem to a SSLv3 problem. I installed the latest openssl version and issued the following command:
    openssl s_client -connect localhost:443
    This gives me the following output:
    C:\OpenSSL\bin>openssl s_client -connect localhost:443

    When adding the -bugs to the openssl commandline (saying "Switch on all SSL implementation bug workarounds") everything is working fine (with the same output for openssl, using sslv3 and the following additional line in the ssl-log: [info] Initial (No.1) HTTPS request received for child 34 (server soa1.karlsbad2.promatis.de:443) (at the end just before connection close).
    When setting the client to use ssl2 (-ssl2) everything is fine too. When doing -ssl3 it is the same as without any parameter.
    The certificate has expired message and the test-certificate seem not to be related with my problems, since the same problems arise on our production server having a "real and valid" SSL certificate certified by a renowned SSL-CA.
    When setting SSLProtocol +SSLv2 in the ssl.conf openssl is working fine too. But this is not an option as sslv2 is no longer supported by Firefox (giving me an error-message when accessing the page).
    I played around with SSLCipherSuite in the ssl.conf without success. I fear mod_ossl has a bug when working with the specified ssl-parameters. Is there any way out of this?
    Any help would be highyl appreciated,
    Best regards

    Did you find a solution to this issue? We are having a similar issue trying to deploy a Paypal IPN on OAS 10.1.2.3. The IPN messages coming from Paypal appear to be attempting an SSLv2 handshake. In our case SSLv2 is disabled due to our security requirements so the connection is killed by our App Server. We have found that manually sending the IPN messages works correctly.

  • Help with Threads for a webserver

    That is the main class of my webserver. The problem is that after executing one petition the server closes with exit status 1. Normally that should never happens as it does not happen at the single-threaded server. Any suggestions ??
    Also do i have to impement monitors, meaning syncronized functions to monitor buffers and some static variables ?
    This is my first program impementing threads so really i do not experience over it

    Use code tags when posting code.
    Given that the code you presented does not call System.exit() I am not sure how it could be exiting with a value of 1.
    When you accept a connection from a client the code should do nothing but pass the client socket off to a thread and then start that thread. It should not extract the streams - do that in the thread.
    The in/out streams of the client socket should be wholly contained within the thread/Runnable. They do not belong to the class that holds the SockerServer.
    Your catch blocks need to be reworked. The first one completely ignores the exception and prints out that a port number is needed. You should be printing the exception message at a minimum and right now you should be be doing a printStackTrace() as well. Additionally you are ignoring a null pointer exception and that is wrong.

  • Problem while distribute software via Java Web Start

    Hi,
    I use JWS to distribute my software to the clients. I use apache 2.2 as webserver.
    My Problem:
    When i put a update a jar on the webserver, the clients have to start JWS twice to get the new file.
    First i thought it is a problem with the webserver. So i have restarted the apache after ive put the new jar. ... without success.
    Are there any settings in JWS which take affect?
    Any ideas?
    Tom

    The default behavior is to timeout if checking for an update takes too much time.
    You can add the jnlp element:
    <update check="always"/>
    and updates will always happen on the forst launch (when client is using Java Web Start 1.6.0 or later, update element will be ignored by earlier versions)

  • How to call a servlet from another servlet

    hi everybody,
    i have a problem, i have to call one servlet from another one.
    Everything works on my pc, but when i install the application on the customer's server i got an error about an Uknown URL followed by the name of the machine.
    Wjat i do is the folloqing :
    String urlString = request.getScheme()+"://"+request.getServerName()+":"+request.getServerPort()+"/"+servletName;
    URL url = new URL(urlString);
    HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
    the variable servletName is the name of the servlet i have to call.
    Is there another way to call the servlet ?
    All the servlet are installed in the same server.
    Any suggestion ?
    Cheers.
    Stefano

    Sweep is correct about requestDispatcher being another approach for inter-servlet delegation; the only issue that i recall with this approach is that it defaults the method of the destination servlet to the one it was called from...for example, calling servlet2 from within servlet1.post() resulted in the dispatcher attempting to utilize servlet2.post() - i believe that i searched for a parameterize solution to no avail :( (ended up handling the request by placing a "fake" doPost() in servlet2 that simply called servlet2.doGet())
    however, if your application is functioning correctly on your pc/webserver then the problem may be external to servlet communication (e.g. client webserver's ports not configured or blocked, missing runtime classes, etc.)
    my suggestion would be to set aside the programmatic concerns for the moment - what is the response if you open a browser on a client's machine and access the URL in question (i.e. http://clientserver:port/stefanoServlet)? If it will not respond to access in this manner then it certainly won't when your application calls for it.
    It's possible that there is a coding error but, given the info supplied, i'd start examining the environment, first. Let us know if you have any luck with the test i recommended or not (please provide abundant detail). Or, if you've found the solution then you may want to post back with a quick blub so the next person knows how to escape the trap.

  • I can't start apache since upgrading to Mountain Lion

    Why Apple remove the web sharing feature I'll never understand. I have tried everything I've found on the web to get apache started but nothing seems to work. Apache started for a brief period of time but now it won't start at all. sudo apachectl start/tsop/restart all seem to work with no errors but when I go to localhost I get the "Safari can't find the server" error page. I've rebuilt my user.conf file, I've tries forcing org.apache.plist to start (took me a while bu tI think I've finally undone this bad idea). I've even tried OSX Server but even that was causing problems and to recreate my multisite setup I was using under apache in Lion would be like using an atomic bomb to take care of an ant hill in my back yard. I'm no apache server admin so while I can read the aache logs in console I'm not entirely sure what I should be looking for to see if an error is occuring. A cursory glance seems to show nothing more then the obvious things like "File does not exist". Thanks, of course you don't think the file exists beacuse the server isn't running. Any suggestions on how I could nuke apache and return it to its default state in either Lion or Mountain Lion?

    I see what you mean now that I look. I also installed Server.app and myWeb Sharing option is gone from the Sharing prefpanel. I wonder if it still appears for those who never installed Server.app?
    The previous Apache setup is still there in the old location at /private/etc/apache2/ and serves files from /Library/WebServer/Documents/ The problem is that Server.app overrides the launching system for the old setup. You may need to go to the file at /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.serverd.plist and rename it by appending an "X" to the end which will prevent it from launching. When you reboot you won't be able to log into the Server.app. You should then be able to run launchctl and start Apach from the file at /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.apache.httpd.plist . If that file is missing report back here and we'll figure out what's wrong.

  • HELP -- Slow and sometime unresponsive CF Server

    From 2 weeks to date we are having problems with our CF Server. Especifically in one site but affect all the CF webserver. The problem is that the CF server is very slow and unresponsive some times and suddenly is normal again. Sometimes the server take a lot of time to load the index.cfm of the site in some sesion but the rarerly is that at the sametime other users load very fast the index. I don't know why. I debbuged and where it take a lot of time to load is in the application.cfm and is where the session is create. We have othe web apps in our intranet where have session too, they don´t take a lot of time of load the index (index and application.cfm).
    Any recomendations?
    regards!

    I thought CF8 32 bit would struggle with a 64 bit Java. Only had a short time window to try this so did not do any further experiments with trying to make the 64 bit Java function with CF8 like moving or swapping other DLL files around.
    Not sure that helps you much since you said the 32 bit JDK did not install. I suppose I have replicated what you found that CF8 got the same startup problem you saw with 64 bit JDK.
    What else can I suggest? In my case the particular site was working well CF8 with 1.6.0_04 JVM. The JVM had some tuned values applied to the minimum and maximum memory heap and non-heap values as well as garbage collector had core switch applied so it was working multi-threaded. I guess for me it will be interesting to note if any problems arise since I have left the site running 1.6.0_27 32 bit JDK (aka free upgrade).

  • FLVPlayback source with query strings (parameters) doesn't load

    Flash version: CS4
    AS version: AS3
    I'm currently trying to use the FLVPlayback component and pass a source FLV that's living on a cloudfront webserver. The problem is that the cloudfront requires authentication in the form of query strings in the source FLV. For example:
    import fl.video.*;
    var mainMovie:FLVPlayback = new FLVPlayback();
    mainMovie.source = "http://www.somedomainname.com/firmware.flv?dummyquery=22";
    trace(addChild(mainMovie));
    As soon as I take away the "dummyquery", it works fine. When I add a query string, it breaks (nothing loads).
    Here is the error output I get:
    [object FLVPlayback]
    VideoError: 1005: Invalid xml: URL: "http://www.somedomainname.com/firmware.flv?dummyquery=22&FLVPlaybackVersion=2.1" No root node found; if url is for an flv it must have .flv extension and take no parameters
         at fl.video::SMILManager/http://www.adobe.com/2007/flash/flvplayback/internal::xmlLoadEventHandler()
         at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
         at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
         at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
    It adds on "&FLVPlaybackVersion=2.1" to the end.
    I saw a different article that said I should add a dummy variable at the end like "&dummy=.flv" because I was told that Flash is basically looking for an .flv extension at the end and you can trick it, but it doesn't work because they add on additional code.
    Does anyone know how to work around this?

    Hey supervu,
    I know you already found a workaround to make this work, just figured I'd post an alternative to editing the FLVPlayback compoent. I also am retrieving an FLV file via a .Net ASHX file. To keep both worlds happy, I used a URLRewriter module to translate for me... this one translates what I am using for the FLVPlayback component source:
    http://domain.com/flv/22.flv  to be resolved as http://domain.com/API/resource.ashx?ID=22
    There is of course no flv folder in the root of my application...
    Here is my very simple URLRewriter class in vb.net:
    Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic
    Imports System
    Imports System.Web
    Public Class URLRewriter
        Implements IHttpModule
        Public Sub Init(ByVal inst As System.Web.HttpApplication) Implements System.Web.IHttpModule.Init
            AddHandler inst.BeginRequest, AddressOf Me.OnBeginRequest
        End Sub
        Public Sub OnBeginRequest(ByVal app As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
            Dim inst As HttpApplication = CType(app, HttpApplication)
            Dim req_path As String = inst.Context.Request.Path
            Dim trans_path As String = ""
            Dim search As String = "/flv/"
            Dim pos As Integer = req_path.IndexOf("/flv/")
            If pos > -1 Then
                Dim key as string = req_path.Substring(pos + search.Length, (req_path.LastIndexOf(".flv") - (pos + search.Length)))
                HttpContext.Current.Response.Redirect("~/API/resource.ashx?ID=" & key )
            End If
        End Sub
        Public Sub Dispose() Implements System.Web.IHttpModule.Dispose
        End Sub
    End Class
    and make sure you add this to your web.config.. this will cause URLRewriter to intercept all HTTP requests, and redirect as needed.
    <system.web>
         <httpModules>
              <add name="URLRewriter" type="[Namespace].URLRewriter"/>
          </httpModules>
    </system.web>
    Hope this helps someone.

  • O-Portal behind reverse proxy, aliasing of o-portal url to generic url.

    I'd like to setup o-Portal behind a reverse proxy. This is a proxy service which accepts connections on http://a.b.com/ and gets the content from internal webservers based on the url. For example http://a.b.com/pls/DAD1 comes from an o-Portal server but http://a.b.com/depts/ comes from a webserver. The problem with o-Portal is now, that it creates pages with its servername and port in the URL of the pages it serves out. For example, if it runs on server x.b.com on the port 7777 the links on all pages are http://x.b.com:7777/pls/DAD1. To get it to work correctly with my proxy, all these links should be http://a.b.com/pls/DAD1 and then the proxy gets the pages from http://x.b.com:77777/pls/DAD1.
    How do I tell o-Portal to create this different URL in its pages? You could also say, I'd like to alias http://a.b.com/pls/DAD1 to http://x.b.com:77777/pls/DAD1
    I'm sure there is a configuration setting to change this. We had the same problem with Oracle HR11i and there we got it solved.
    Web Single Sign On applications like IBM WebSeal or Netegrity Siteminder use these kind of proxies to protect the intranet and to create a Single Sign On domain for all web servers.
    Thanks,
    Rainer

    I also would like overcome this issue. I could not find an answer anywhere on Metalink or OTN.
    Can a reverse-proxy (i.e. using ProxyPass & Reverse) be used with and internal Portal?

    We have to restart iplanet whenever we get this problem and then it works fine for 40min - 1hr and it repeats the problem again. But we could make t3 connections and call rmi methods on the appserver by a test program running out of webserver without any problem at the same time when iplanet was having problems.
    Did anybody face this problem before?
    Thanks.

    Yes I have done that and at least in terms of my code it wasn't just a result set.

    this only happens on one site.  the user uses it to enter in data and then later the document will be saved on the vendors webserver.  the problem is very intermitant.  they were on adobe 10.0.0 where it was more of a problem.  11 has seemed to be a lot better now but we are still seeing this problem.
    i used the original installer from adobe to install 11
    adobe 10 was uninstalled restarted then 11 was installed
    any other ideas?

    Hi,
    Please elaborate more on your problem :
    1. Does this happen on Saving as PDF or viewing PDF
    2. What kind of site are you referring to?
    3. What exactly do you mean when you say Vendor's webserver. Is it a citrix server.

  • Teamspeak3: MySQLSocket Error

    Hey there, so after getting a compiled libmysqlclient.so.15 (Teamspeak requires that one, I have libmysqlclient.so.18.0.0 installed and just used wget to get the oudated one and copied it to /usr/lib) i ran into another problem. When i try to fire up my TS3 Server I get the following error in the log:
    ERROR   |DatabaseQuery |   | mysql_real_connect() failed with error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (13)
    Now usually I'd assume that means that mysql is not running/listening but it is as the Webserver has no problem using the mysqld as my websites work flawlessly.
    What else could be the problem ? Both the Webserver and Teamspeak-Server are on the same machine asthe mysqld and try to connect to the mysqld through localhost.

    TS3 needs MySQL 5.0.x, you can build it using the AUR PKGBUILD at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=37029 , but if you want to keep MySQL 5.5.x on your system, you've to edit the PKGBUILD to solve the conflicts.

  • JPEG crashes Fireworks, Illustrator, and AGS,  but not Photoshop

    I have a feeling that the problem has to do with JPEG
    metadata but I'm not sure what to look for. So far I've found that
    the JPEG causes Fireworks, Illustrator, and Adobe Graphics Sever to
    hang. It's especially bad since when AGS goes down a dependent
    public web application hangs too.
    The file works as expected in Photoshop, Acrobat, browsers,
    and other apps. I'm pretty sure it's not infected since it passed
    my virus scanner.
    Could someone take a look at the JPEG and let me know if you
    find anything? You can download it from my webserver.
    Download
    problem image

    Well, my NOD32 antivirus says it's okay.
    I opened the file in my text editor's binary mode, and
    there's a "copyright (c) 1998 Hewlett-Packard Company" that I don't
    see anywhere in the file info in Photoshop (
    screen
    capture). I wonder if the header is just messed up, somehow.
    Maybe missing some delimiters so some records are larger than
    expected. Can you re-save from the original?
    I did a quick search for apps that would display the header
    info, and found
    a developer's
    demo code project, but I think it's just source code.
    Sorry I'm not very helpful.
