Webservice concepts . Pls help

Hi All,
In PI 7.0 in Integration Configuration:
we create the WSDL for Sender/Outbound Interface using --- Select Tools --- Define Web Service -- fill all information and
send that wsdl to consumer and use soap sender adapter
similarly In PI 7.0 in Integration Design :
we import the wsdl from the provider in External Defination and use soap receriver adapter
Do we have same concept in PI 7.1? Pls explain
-- if we use Integration Directory and click on Publish in SR  -- Pls explain this section ?
-- if we use Service Registry and click on display WSDL -- Pls explain this section ?
Pls explain the above sections with documents

a. If I take PI 7.0 and I have RFC to Webservice Scenario
--- I have one function modules in one R/3 system and second function module in other R/3 system
--- For the second function module in R/3 (*service provider*) I will make webservice of that using utilities -- more utilities-- create
webservice. Import wsdl of that webservice in PI as External defination (Inbound Interface).
--- In PI Select the source interface as RFC for 1st function module and receiver as as External defination (Inbound Interface)
for 2nd function module.
-- Configure the Soap_Receiver_CC for target WSDL.
-- Test it by sending request from the source R/3 system. It works fine.
My question is we are not doing any configuration of service provider(r/3) and also not publishing webservice and it is working fine in PI 7.0 .
> you can achieve same thing in PI 7.1 also . Using UDDI for service registry is up to you . Basically in your scenario you have used XI to make service interface to work as a web service . Which is prefectly O.K .
Pls explain why we are required to do configuration and publishing in PI 7.1 as explained in below blog page 12 and page 14

because they want to service enable the message interface so is the topic of article . PI 7.1 is about moving towards servic es .
b. If I take PI 7.0. Sender is 3rd Party and receiver is JDBC. We make wsdl of Outbound Interface and sent to 3rd party.
--- 3rd party will send request using xml spy . The request will come to PI using Soap_Sender_CC where we specify Outbound
Interface name and will get response back from JDBC to them.
I understand the concept like as we cannot send wsdl to 3rd party we publish it using Integration directory and then 3rd party can access that wsdl. Is my understanding correct?
Yes, Absolutely . We want to avoid sending wsdl to 3rd party .
