  • Consuming DI Batch Job webservice in webI

    Hi,
    I designed a batch job in BODI and published it as web service. Now I want to consume this web service in WebI report. Presently I am working in BO XI R2. Though I know in BO XI R3 we can do this, in Web I we have the option to query against web service. QAWS give the the queries as web service but I have opposite requirement. I nned to consume the web service in WebI report.
    Is there any way to achieve this? Any SDK or so? I am novice to SDK so don't have any idea about it. But what ever I could understand by reading on net that it is possible.
    If any one has put their hands in this then please share how to achieve it.
    Thanks!

    Possible solutions are with XI 3.x, so it's not at all straightforward in XI Release 2.
    What you're essentially looking for is an adapter - something that will adapt the Web Service data source into something that an Universe can connect to.
    Haven't tried any of the Web Services adapter classes for RDBMS or ODBC drivers for Web Services, so can't recommend anything that would work.

    This detailed step-by-step guide was produced with the following article by Jason Price http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/price_10gws.html

    Success!!!
    I had to grant this permissions:
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'getClassLoader', '' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'accessClassInPackage.sun.util.calendar', '' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'setFactory', '' )
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.util.PropertyPermission', 'HTTPClient.socket.idleTimeout', 'write' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.net.SocketPermission', 'localhost', 'resolve' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.net.SocketPermission', '127.0.0.1:8084', 'connect,resolve' );
    As I wrote earlier, WS_TEST is my user into which I load JAX-RPC client. Note that, if you load JAX-RPC client into user another than SYS, you have NOT to use -s -grant public option (wassam wrote about this too). Another thing is that I (finally) didn't load OC4J. To consume WebService I use utl_dbws.invoke(call_Handle CALL, request SYS.XMLTYPE) function.

  • WebService generation from existing WSDL file :(

    Hello,
    I have just tried to create a WebService from an existing WSDL (which has been developed and validated with Eclipse) with JDeveloper and got the follwing stack trace. I do not think, that this error message is very usefull, because I can't see the point where it referes to my WSDL document. By the way, the Eclipse validation went through without having any trouble.
    Here are my JDeveloper coordinates to give you the chance to follow up:
    - Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.1.0
    - Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.1.0_GENERIC_090615.0017.5407
    Running JDeveloper in MacOSX:
    - Version 10.5.8
    - Build 9L31a
    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hello puthanampatti,
    that was exactly what I tried right now ;-)
    I figured that JDeveloper has a more strict validation than Eclipse and recognizes white spaces within certain tags.
    When I have cleaned my WSDL and XSD files I started with a new procedure of generating WebServices (form local JDeveloper files) and encountered the following issue:

  • Calling Batch input from Web Dynpro - any alternatives for table updates?

    Hi!
    I am asked to create a screen in Web Dynpro for the GJ30 transaction (JV Cutback mapping of WBS' elements). I created a remote enabled function module which call batch input for GJ30 . Testing the Function modules direclty goes fine, but not calling the function module from WD. then I get the same error message as when I once tried to call SAP GUI from Web Dynpro ( Call transaction /submit program).
    My next step is to try to create a batch input session (instead of call transaction) and run it using rsbdcsub, and then check the result of the run. But maybe this will fail of the same reason as well, and I suppose this will make the user waiting longer for the response .
    I read somewhere that Web Dynpro does not support batch Input. But what can you do when there are no standard BAPI's for the update you want to do in SAP ?  We are not supposed to do direct table updates.
    Anyone who have struggled with the same issues and found a solution??
    regards, Tine

    Hi,
    as BDC is calling screens and in Webdynpro ABAP you cannot use SAP GUI sceeen, you are getting short dump.
    Refer CNTL_SYSTEM_ERROR in webservices from r/3 system
    Thanks,
    Chandra

  • Problem Calling a WebService multiple times

    Hi Guys,
    I am a relatively new user of DS 12.2 doing a proof-of-concept to call an in-house WebService for a batch of customer records - lets say 1000.
    The WS has an input schema where it's parameters are within a nested table such that it can be called for many customers in a single call if desired. WS input schema (made-up example)=
    -WS
    --$REQUEST_SCHEMA **added by DS on import
    ---CustVerification
    src_nr
    src_state
    I have successfully been able to create a Data-Flow that builds the input-schema such that 1 WS call is made with a nested input of all 1000 customers. This works and the output from the single call is correct (many records relating to the many inputs etc). Input schema =
    - <CustVerification>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    </CustVerification>
    Now the problem - I am wanting to do this flow so that it calls the WS once PER customer i.e. 1 entry in many of the nested CustVerification structures.
    I have, again, been able to produce the correct XML schema (at least it looks correct) which repeats the Input Schema for each customer record. HOWEVER, when hooking this up to the function call of the WS as before, I either get only 1 single call like before with the last entry in the file run through it..... or, after playing with the query's input schema to add an extra root level and changing FROM clauses to map to the function call schema I then get a huge ACCESS_VIOLATION dump which mentions "LoadDFXML::put_string()+2427 byte(s)" and other such XML-related but non-helpful messages.
    New input schema is:
    - <CustVerification>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    </CustVerification>
    - <CustVerification>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    </CustVerification>
    - <CustVerification>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    </CustVerification>
    So.... am I missing something simple in how I call a WS multiple times as opposed to once with multiple inputs? Could this be a setting/property somewhere? IS this linked with how I do a QueryTransform in a certain way to get the function called the right number of times? Anything else??
    Thanks for any advice/help.
    Flip.

    Thanks for the responses guys.... I actually got past the error with a change to the NRDM structure (as mentioned in the first reply, I think a small problem here really changes things).
    So - what I had to do to get this working properly was to add a new 'dummy' level into the structure - this kept it clean to denote that the 1 large bulk of messages were going to be sent through the WS many times. So - structure looks like this:
    Input_Query:
    - <ROOT>
    - <CustVerification>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    </CustVerification>
    - <CustVerification>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    </CustVerification>
    - <CustVerification>
    - <Details>
    <src_nr>1234<src_nr />
    <src_state>KY</src_state>
    </Details>
    </CustVerification>
    </ROOT>
    Then, in the Output schema for the function call, I had to create a dummy extra schema level also - say 'WS_Call', and put the function call within this structure. The FROM mapping has to be set so that both the input_query level AND the input_query.root level are mapped to the WS_Call schema.
    And then it works!
    Summary -- its a bugger.... but playing with the structure levels (and adding your own at times) and FROM clauses can work!
    Cheers,
    Flip.

  • XI 3.1 Webservices API: Read time out during getDocumentInformation()

    Hi,
    my client is moving vom BO 6.5 to BO XI 3.1. The client uses BO to create mass reports for indivual subscribers in a batch mode fashion. We are currently evaluating the Webservices API, dealing with Desktop Intelligence reports.
    I have implemented a load test prototype using the Webservices API with the help of the examples found here.
    Retrieving a single report works fine, but when I try to put some load on the server and request reports with several parallel threads, I get the "Read timeout error" when calling getDocumentInformation(repID, null, actions, null, boRetrieveData). The actions array just contains the FillPrompts instance.

    BTW, the threads use different logins and in consequence different connections/sessions.
    The timeout occurs after 30secs, so simple reports with no prompts are created without error. Increasing the timeout on the connection as suggested in other postings did not help.
    I think the issue is related to Axis2. I don't know how to set the timeout on the Axis client via the BO API. Trying to recreate the client API from the WSDL did not work. Is there any example how to do this correctly? Having the source of the Axis client, one would have the chance to set the timeout on the client programmatically ...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    con

    I found a workaround for the issue by patching and compiling the Axis2 kernel library. You need to download it form Apache, install Maven 2.0.7, set the default timeout in .../client/Options.java to a value that suits your needs (for me: 20min), and compile the whole thing using mvn clean install.
    But this is obviously not the solution one wants. So, is there anybody with a REAL answer to the problem?

  • Batch / script file to start /stop sap server

    Hi,
       I would like to start/stop SAP server using batch file (in windows). I need this, whenever we have to shutdown the server and restart of the server, so that SAP will automatically shutdown and restart using batch files while server restart cases? If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks,
    Regards,
    Sundar.

    target of the 700 sapstartsrv improvement was to deliver identical functionality on all SAP platforms. As the DCOM programing model is only available on Windows platforms sapstartsrv.exe was enhanced by the WEB-Service interface and is available now on Unix too.
    The DCOM SAPControl interface of sapstartsrv.exe is still existing, but only on Windows. Here you can use VB Script or any other programming language able to handle DCOM objects to write your own programs / scripts to interact with the SAPControl.
    sapcontrol.exe is a command line program available since 700 which enables you control over nearly all functions of the sapstart service.
    Even it has the same name as the DCOM interface it' something completly different.

  • XI to Batch Command Scenario

    Hi All,
    My scenario is SAP to XI to Batch Command.
    The receiver system is a listening port system where it receives data at the port. Currently XI is not the middleware. So the communication happens through EXE. It happens as follows:
    1. exe sends a wake up call to Batch Command.
    2. Command Batch sends an acknowledgement to exe that it is ready to receive data
    3. Now exe sends data to CB.
    4. CB sends Ack for data
    5. exe sends a sleep call to CB to close connection
    6. Cb sends Ack back to exe.
    Now exe has to be replaced with XI , so is this set of Communication possible through XI in the same scenario? If yes , then How.
    If no what can be the solution.
    Also will the Standard adapters in XI serve the purpose for Command Batch since it is not any File system , but it receives data at the port or will Custom adapter will have to be developed for this purpose.
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Loveena.

    That sounds like a proprietary TCP/IP handshake.
    There is no way besides own development of Java code.
    You could develop an adapter or a Java proxy for this purpose.
    The better option is, replcing the batch command with an HTTP or Webservice enabled program and use standard PI functionality.

    The Integrators guide is not the clearest piece of documentation that I have ever read so I'm now having a little trouble.
    In C# I'm issuing the following statements:
                DataServices.Batch_JobsClient batchClient = new DataServices.Batch_JobsClient();
                batchClient.Open();
                DataServices.Testjob_Match_GlobalVariables myVar = new DataServices.Testjob_Match_GlobalVariables();
                myVar.ptd_FilePath = "D:
    Jobs
    Test";
                batchClient.Testjob_Match(myVar);
    That all executes without error -- but the job is not started. Obviously I'm missing a step here but I can not figure out what is needed to acutally start the job execution from the Integrators Guide.
    Any help would be appricated.

    first test invoking the batch job webservice using SoapUI
    does your client application logs the SOAP message that is sent to DS WebServer ?
    Check the %LINK_DIR%\lg\webservices.log if there is any errors logged in it ?

  • Passing parameter to a Websphere webservice

    Hi
    I created a webservice using Websphere Studio Application Developer therefore it automaitcally creates the client ,UDDI-EAR,UDDI-EJB ,UDDI-SOAP packages.My question is how to pass parameters to the webservice .I heard that i can do that using the URL. Whats the best way to do so ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If you want to pass parameters to your ESSCMD script, you need to encapsulate it within a shell script with Unix or a DOS batch command file.
    For Unix, let's say you create shell script test.sh
    #!/bin/sh
    ESS_SERV = $1
    ESS_USER = $2
    ESS_PASS = $3
    APP_NAME = $4
    DB_NAME = $5
    ESSCMD_FILE = /tmp/example.scr
    ESSCMD_SPOOL = /tmp/example.out
    ESSCMD_ERR = /tmp/example.err
    # Esscmd script
    echo "
    LOGIN \"$ESS_SERV\" \"$ESS_USER\" \"$ESS_PASS\" \"$APP_NAME\" \"$DB_NAME\";
    ... the different command you want to run
    " > $ESSCMD_FILE
    # Execute esscmd script
    ESSCMD $ESSCMD_FILE &> "$ESSCMD_SPOOL"
    To run it, you would on a Unix prompt do this :
    #> ./test.sh localhost test essbase demo basic
    However, with Maxl It will be a bit easier, as you would define your shell script this way
    #!/bin/sh
    ESSMSH_FILE = /tmp/example.scr
    # Essmsh script
    echo "
    login $1 $2 on $3 ;
    ... the different command you want to run
    " > $ESSMSH_FILE
    # Execute esscmd script
    essmsh $ESSMSH_FILE &> /dev/null
    To run it, you would on a Unix prompt do this :
    #> ./test.sh test essbase localhost
    Hope it helps,
    Cheers,

  • Replace plsql batch interface with BPEL?

    I have an existing batch-oriented interface that calls an asp webservice from within a database package. The webservice returns an XML-file that is processed within the stored procedure that calls the service.
    Would it be possible to initiate a BPEL proces from within a stored procedure to retrieve the XML file from the webservice? Currently the webservice is called using the UTL_HTTP package.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Regards, Rob

    BPEL Process is nothing but a service. So you should be able to call it.
