Webservice logon by code

Hi,
I created a webservice as a datasource to fetch xml data for a report which is running in an aspx-project. At design time I can use the credential of our own environment but at the customer I have to provide the report with new credentials (account, password) and another url.
Reading in forum/help/manuals I found a lot about logon at databases by code but nothing about logon to webservice. Anybody there who can give me a hint how I can do the trick.
THX
Gerd

Hi, Jason,
thanks for your fast answer. But I think I didn't describe my problems correctly. So a new try:
I looked at that sample myself before but there isn't an answer to my question. May be I've to precise it:
I have a webservice providing data only. I have several repports (build with CS-XI) with consumer the data. Now I move the reports to the customer environment and have to change the datasources i.e. webservices (url and account) of the reports.
I use the CrystalRteportsViewer in aspx:
<code>
<CR:CrystalReportViewer ID="CrystalReportViewer1" runat="server" AutoDataBind="True"
            Height="1039px" ReportSourceID="CrystalReportSource1" Width="901px" />
        <CR:CrystalReportSource ID="CrystalReportSource1" runat="server">
            <Report FileName="MyReportt.rpt">
            </Report>
        </CR:CrystalReportSource>
</code>
How can I provide the new webservice url and login to the viewer or the MyReport.rpt. (I've seen some sample to provide sql-datasources with new credentials and server but never see anything about webservices).
Regards
Gerd

  • Problem creating webservice from existing code in sjse8

    I have a java class with three methods in an enterprise app (no ejbs) that I want to expose with webservice. In sudio5 I had no problem with webservice creation but in studio8 when I chose "From scratch, Use existing code", it gives me the opting to go to my class and select those methods. When I click finish, it generates an Implementation class that has declaration for my java class repeated 3 times which is obviously wrong and under it says:
    // Enter web service operations here. (Popup menu: Web Service->Add Operation)
    The class is empty.
    I choose "rpcliteral", "strict", "useonewayoperations" and "donotoverride" under web module property / webservice.
    And as you can guess it generates a wsdl file with no webservice methods info.
    I have and am checking all forums and searching different sites but haven't fond anything yet.
    I appreciate any help resolving this issue.

    Seems this feature doesn't work properly in jse and completely removed from latest nb55 enterprise pack (only session enterprise bean case remain)

  • Webservice and UI codes in one application

    Hi,
    We have two applications, one for the UI and one for web services. Both of them have Model project. Hence, we are thinking of merging then into one application which contains three projects: UI, Web services and Model so that both UI and Web services share the same Model project, no redundant codes. Just wondering is that a good design, will there be any issues? So can it be generated two deployment EARs files within one application?
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    -Mina

    you can have your approach itself.. but.. both webservice and the UI project will be have a dependency on the model project.. but you cannot reuse the model project any where else..
    the suggestion given by shay, helps you to use the model library in both UI and webservice.. and can also extend to any other project which needs to access the model project..
    in this case you are refering only the libraries of model project.. so no direct depenedency..

  • Integrated Security results in Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON' after code deployment

    Sometimes, when we deploy new code to the server, we're getting the following error:
    Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'
    we're using windows authentication and in our connectionstring use integrated security.
    Only after restarting the server, the application can connect to the DB again. restarting IIS or recycling the application pool doesn't help.
    Our application pool is configured using ApplicationPoolIdentity and we would like to keep it as such.
    Any idea what we can do to prevent this error from occurring almost every time we deploy code?
    Thanks

    Response.ContentType = "application/force-download";
    Response.AppendHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + name);
    Response.BinaryWrite(spFile.OpenBinary());

    Hi,
    Here is a blog about how to call a Java EE Web Service from a .Net Client for your reference:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/bursteg/archive/2008/07/19/how-to-call-a-java-ee-web-service-from-a-net-client.aspx
    If you want to download a document from a Sharepoint library, we can use the REST API provided by SharePoint and use Apache HttpComponents in Java.

    About how to upload file using jaxrs webservice in C# code, I suggest you post it to C# or ASP.Net Forum, you will get more help and confirmed answers from there.

    Hello,
    There is not enough information in your post to determine an exact
    cause. When you say the web services are working fine, do you mean from
    the home/test page? What version of WLS? Is this with a static or
    dynamic client. I'm a bit concerned about what seem to be stubs showing
    up on the traceback that would indicate another SOAP stack (com.hp.ws)
    could you tell us a bit more about your configuration.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

    Hi,
    I am still having the same problem, however the scenario in which I am getting varies.
    I am getting this exception:
    "com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: IOError while working with the message."
    Some users when trying to login into the portal are getting blank screen and for some the portal launcher page is loading fine and could go to the Home Page.
    When I view the logs I am seeing the Nested Soap Exception.
    Any Ideas??? Starting the J2EE engine also did'nt help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to set username and password before redirecting to a RESTful webservice

    I am a .Net developer who has developed a webservice used by my ColdFusion colleagues. They are using ColdFusion 9 but I'm not sure if they have incorporated any of the newer features of ColdFusion in their apps. Here is a snippet of how they have been invoking the webmethods:
    <cfscript>
                         ws = CreateObject("webservice", "#qTrim.webServiceName#");
                         ws.setUsername("#qTrim.trimAcct#");
                         ws.setPassword("#qTrim.trimpwd#");
                         wsString=ws.UploadFileCF("#qTrim.webserviceurl#","#objBinaryData#", "#qFiles.Filename#", "Document", "#MetaData#");
                </cfscript>
    As I understand things, the .setUsername and .setPassword correspond to the Windows credentials the CF Admin set when the URL of the .Net webservice was "registered" and given its "name" (for the CreateObject statement above). I have 4 webmethods that are all invoked in this manner and this SOAP protocol works adequately for us. Please note that this ColdFusion web app authenticates anonymous remote internet users by prompting for a username and password and compares them to an application database (i.e. Microsoft calls this "forms authentication"). Because only a few Windows domain accounts are authorized to call this .Net webservice, the above code always uses the same username/password constants and it all works.
    My question involves the newest webmethod added to the .Net webservice. It requires that callers must invoke it as a RESTful service which means it must be invoked by its URL. Here is a snippet of C# code that invokes it from an ASP.NET webclient:
                string r = txtRecordNumber.Text;
                string baseurl = "http://localhost/sdkTrimFileServiceASMX/FileService.asmx/DownloadFileCF?";
                StringBuilder url = new StringBuilder(baseurl);
                url.Append("trimURL="); url.Append(txtFakeURLParm.Text);
                url.Append("&");
                url.Append("TrimRecordNumber="); url.Append(txtRecordNumber.Text);
                Response.Redirect(url.ToString());
    I assume a ColdFusion script could easily build a full URL as above with appended querystring parameters and redirect. Is there some way for the CF code redirecting to a RESTful webservice (by way of its URL) to set the Username and Password to this Windows account mentioned above? When the DownloadFileCF webmethod is hit it must be with the credentials of this special Windows domain account. Can that be set by ColdFusion someway to mimic the result of the SOAP technique (the first snippet above).
    I hope my question is clear and someone can help me make suggestions to my ColdFusion colleagues. Thanks.

    Can you clarify what you mean by "establish a different Windows identity"?  Usually passing identity to a web site or service means adding something to the request's HTTP headers.  This could be a cookie in the case of .NET forms authentication or the "Authorization" header in the case of basic authentication.
    The SOAP web service invocation code you posted does use basic authentication, according to the CF docs "ColdFusion inserts the user name/password string in the authorization request header as a base64 binary encoded string, with a colon separating the user name and password. This method of passing the user name/password is compatible with the HTTP basic authentication mechanism used by web servers."
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/9.0/Developing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbec13a13 -7fe0.html
    If you need to mimic the SOAP techinque you should have basic authentication enabled for your REST service endpoints.
    If your authentication method is different then CF developers will need to add the appropriate HTTP headers to their service calls.  Note that calling a REST service from CF would probably be accomplished using the CFHTTP tag if the service is designed to be consumed by the CF server.

  • Error in Automatic Code Generation

    Hello,
    i am trying to use a webservice in an CAF-Application. After importing the WebService, the generated code doesn't compile. I found the problem, and can fix it manually. But everytime i re-generate, my manual fixes are overwritten with the erroneus auto generated code.
    Auto Generated Code (wrong):
         @java.lang.SuppressWarnings("unchecked")
         public void setProperty(java.lang.String _propertyName, java.lang.Object _value) {
              if ("datensatzId".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setDatensatzId( (java.lang.String) _value);
              } else if ("behoerde".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setBehoerde( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<dto.evb.msg.de.BehoerdeDTOType>) _value);
              } else if ("kennzeichen".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setKennzeichen( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<dto.evb.msg.de.KennzeichenDTOType>) _value);
              } else if ("listeFehlerBei".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setListeFehlerBei( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<java.lang.ArrayOfStringType>) _value);
              } else if ("vbAblehnungsgrund".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setVbAblehnungsgrund( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<java.lang.Short>) _value);
              } else if ("versicherung".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setVersicherung( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<dto.evb.msg.de.VersicherungDTOType>) _value);
    Correct Code:
         @java.lang.SuppressWarnings("unchecked")
         public void setProperty(java.lang.String _propertyName, java.lang.Object _value) {
              if ("datensatzId".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setDatensatzId( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<java.lang.String>) _value);
              } else if ("behoerde".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setBehoerde( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<dto.evb.msg.de.BehoerdeDTOType>) _value);
              } else if ("kennzeichen".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setKennzeichen( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<dto.evb.msg.de.KennzeichenDTOType>) _value);
              } else if ("listeFehlerBei".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setListeFehlerBei( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<java.lang.ArrayOfStringType>) _value);
              } else if ("vbAblehnungsgrund".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setVbAblehnungsgrund( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<java.lang.Short>) _value);
              } else if ("versicherung".equals(_propertyName)) {
                   setVersicherung( (javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<dto.evb.msg.de.VersicherungDTOType>) _value);
    The behaviour is very strange, as this error is only generated with string-arguments withing the first level of web service arguments. If nested structures contain String arguments, the correct code is generated.
    Can you please provide a patch and/or tell me a workaround?
    Thanks
    Florian Kandlinger

    Hello Jean-Pierre,
    many thanks for your answer. Not the expected solution but it works. Another solution we found is to put an ampersand behind the first line, which tells ABAP that this is a line break. But also here manually work is necessary and also changing generated code.
    Cheers
    Stefan

  • How to modify a webservice in SICF on a productive system

    I hope I am in the right forum.
    For an external webclient program I created a webservice with automatic login. I transported all in production. But in production user and password are different.
    How to modify now? To change the service in development is not possible because neither the client nor the user is existing... and SICF is testing them both.
    I opened the system and made my modification and it works. But in my point of view it's a work around and not really the state of the art...
    Somebody has an idea to do it in a better way?

    Hi,
    How did you create the web service? I would suggest to have a look at this web log:/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2005/05/09/abap-webservices-logon-language-processing
    It is about multiple languages, but it can be used for your login problem too.

    Erland, I wanted to add more info to my reply earlier today.
    sp_who2 showed no blocking, activity monitor from my local PC SSMS showed no major waits or high i/o or cpu activity.
    I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to find out what was the cause of the 5+ minute wait for SSMS on the remote desktop to respond and fully come up.
    I definitely can't put this in production with this hanging delay possibly occurring there.
    I was connecting as read_user when it hung.

  • Restful webservice call hangs during service call

    I have requirement where i need to call webservice from my code which is external service opened up.
    I am using Spring RestTemplate for calling external service.
    ResponseEntity<ResponseObject> responseEntity = rest
    .exchange(URI, HttpMethod.POST, entityObj,
    ResponseObject.class);
    entityObj carries my request Object which is been marshalled.
    when i have my request object(XML) limited to 2o elements my external service receives the request object then processs it and send out the response, if number of request elements exceeds 20 then external service is not receiving any request. mean while my server hangs out and seems to be waiting for response. I dont know where i am going wrong. I am using weblogic server for posting http request.
    Note :-
    I tested using my Junit where i posted 40 elements and it was successful.. the problem happen when i deploy into weblogic server. server might be blocking the data for some reason ..
    I really appreciate response.

    Issue was due to Https post and weblogic was getting timeout for some reason if data exceeds certain limit. so i decided to go with Http which solve the issue. looking into why weblogic getting timeout when using https; will udpate if i fix with https.
    I was using default key store when using https post, does it cause issue?
