    Hi,
    You have used dataSourceName property while creating a connection pool.This property is not required to be set while creating a connection pool for MySql
    Use the following properties:
    <property name="serverName" value="<name of server>"
    <property name="port" value="<port number>"
    <property name="DatabaseName" value="<your db name>"
    <property name="User" value="<user name>"

  • Connecting mysql-4.1.12a-win32 with jakarta-tomcat-3.3.2 using mysql-connec

    hi calverstine here, i have been trying to connect tomcat to mysql using mysql-connector-java-3.1.10, but does not have any clue how to do it, if you guys ask me to refer to :
    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector/j/en/cj-classpath.html
    it only told me about installing mysql to unix platform tomcat , not windows xp sp1, is there any tutorial tat's useful for using the mysql-connector-java-3.1.10? where should i place this folder after i unzipped it? what is CLASSPATH as being written in the previous URL that told us to set the environment variable?..anybody care to help?

    You need to place the driver jar in a place that tomcat can access it; if that place is not already in the classpath for Tomcat, then you need to add it.
    After that, you need to supply application code for Tomcat to contain that will use the driver and do whatever it is you want.
    If you don't know how to do any of that, you need to either read the Tomcat documentation, or learn basic Java development.

    i also use the HeidiSQL client and it works, the only problem is in dreamweaver.

    OK.  Did you really mean to ask this question on a ColdFusion forum, if it's DreamWeaver you're having problems with?  You're probably better off raising this on a DreamWeaver forum.  "Using the correct tool for the job" 'n'all.

  • Read/Write problems with multiple connections using MySQL & Tomcat

    hello all,
    I am developing a web-based java application that runs on a 4.1 tomcat server and uses MySQL 3.23.52 as db server.
    this program uses hundreds of tables with hundreds of rows each.
    when two or more users are connected, we are experiencing several problems:
    1. when a query is started, they get cross-results that come from both connections.
    2. when inserting/updating (most queries are long and take a few seconds), sometimes data are crossed too, sometimes they are saved incorrectly but get no error message, sometimes they are not saved and get 'null pointer' sqlexception (but tables and queries are correct).
    3. using SHOW PROCESSLIST and SHOW STATUS, we saw that MySQL server hosted no more than 3 max_used_connections, even when my.cnf parameters where set with more. when 3 or more users try to access the database, they get a bad handshake error until other connections are freed.
    any suggestions?
    thanks

    I am not using a connection pool. I read that when two different connections try to access the same data simultaneously, mysql is not secure. maybe a connection pool could solve that? or maybe is it a mysql limit?

  • Connection verification failed for data source using mySQL

    Hi,
    I having problem with mySQL datasource and getting the above error. This is only happening in our staging server. We are using ColdFusion 8 running JRUN4 and trying to connect to mySQL v 5.1.41. I tried adding DSN from my localhost using ColdFusion 9 developer edition and I am able to connect without error.I know that mysql server, username & password is valid. I can access the mysql also using mySQL gui tool from different pc and it works fine. I'm believe that this has something to do with mySQL driver? Can somebody shed some light on how can I fix my DSN connection problem? Thank you.

  • How to create a DSN Less Connection using MySQL

    Hi All
    How to create a DSN Less Connection using MySQL?
    http://www.caucho.com/projects/jdbc-mysql/index.xtp and downloaded Caucho driver and installed the jar ---- caucho-jdbc-mysql-0.2.7.jar in my classpath..
    this is how i embedded the code
    try
    driver = (Driver) Class.forName("com.caucho-jdbc-mysql-0.2.7.Driver").newInstance();
    catch (Exception e)
    lastErr = "Cannot load the driver, reason:"+e.toString();
    nothing seems to work with code..
    Unable to proceed..Any piece of code would be of great help..
    Thanks and regds
    Gautam

    According to the installation instructions for that driver:
    The driver is com.caucho.jdbc.mysql.Driver
    The url is jdbc:mysql-caucho://hostname:port/database
    You used something else for the driver name. So it doesn't work. By the way, I found those instructions here: http://www.caucho.com/projects/jdbc-mysql/

  • PHP and MySQL Connection problem

    I am trying to make a PHP MySQL on a remote server connection in Dreamwesaver CS3.
    When I enter the information (host, user, password, etc.) and hit TEST, I get the following error message.
    "Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured."
    I know the user, password, etc. work, as I can access the MySQL database with other software.
    I checked with my host and they say there are no permission problems on their end.
    I have checked the settings on the Test Server page in Site Setup and everything looks correct and works there.
    I have not seen this particular problem described in other forum postings (although there are a LOT of postings on this topic!).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I thought my testing server was the remote server and is always on as far as I know. I don't know how to turn it on or off.
    Is there some other testing server that I should be aware of?

    I know you are using remote, but is your testing server on? if not turn that on and see if that does it. it just happened to me working on remote server and could not get mysql conn to work, until I turn on my testing (developer server), then I was able to connect to mysql and the tables that I created in phpmyadmin remotly was downloaded.

  • How can I use mySQL with OC4J

    Hello,
    I have standalone OC4J and I want to use mySQL database (Oracle is no problem). My data-sources.xml for application (not global data-sources) is:
    <data-sources>
    <data-source class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource"
         connection-driver="org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"
         ejb-location="jdbc/MG_DBDS"
         inactivity-timeout="30"
         location="jdbc/MG_DBCoreDS"
         name="MG_DBDS"
         password=""
         pooled-location="jdbc/MG_DBPooledDS"
         url="jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/test"
         username="root"
         xa-location="jdbc/xa/MG_DBXADS"/>
    </data-sources>
    Deploy return me:
    Error initializing data-source 'jdbc/MG_DBCoreDS': DriverManagerDataSource driver 'org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver' not found
    Then I run this command:
    java -jar %OC4J_HOME%\admin.jar ormi://192.168.1.14:23791/ admin heslo -application Register -updateDataSource -oldLocation jdbc/MG_DBCoreDS -jar mysql-2.0.11-bin.jar
    this action is success and create in OC4J folder lib with jar file mysql-2.0.11-bin.
    When I use this configuration in application, I get connection but creating Statement cause SQL Exception - No suitable driver.
    When I try to restart OC4J, I get the same message as throught deploy - Error initializing data-source ...
    What is go wrong???? Could me help anyone?
    Thanks
    Libor

    pooling solution:
    1) put driver mysql.jar into any directory wich described in OC4J application.xml file like
    " <library path="D:\j2ee\home\lib">jdev-generated</library>"
    2) put a new datasource in data-sources.xml:
    <data-sources>
    <data-source name="MySqlDS"
    location="jdbc/MySqlDS"
    class="com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource"
    max-connections="100"
    min-connections="5"
    inactivity-timeout="200"
    wait-timeout="10"
    username="scott"
    password="tiger"
    url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/oln?useUnicode=true"/>
    </data-sources>
    OC4J needs a special pooling class in comparision with other containers. For example, JBoss has own implementation of pooling broker, so pooling is enabled by default.

  • Using database connection in a servlet and get errors after 8 hours

    Hey,
    I'm running a poker script using applet/servlets and it works great. But for some reason about about 8 hours that database layer stops working. At first I thought it was the connections to mySQL that were timing out (because im using connection pooling) but after turning pooling off (I now create the connection each time) I'm still seeing that same error (I can create a connection but when I do an action ex. like a select statment I get an error). What i'm wondering could it be that the driver I load with Class.forName() some how unloads it's self after x amount of time not being used? Not sure if that is it but if anyone could give me some insight that would be great. The Error i recieve is below:

    Hey,
    Thanks for the responces. For the connection pooling I would open 5 connections and keep them open. So i though maybe after 8 hours after not being used they would timeout. Thats why i turned off conection pooling and create a new connection each time. Anyways i'll post the code below incase i made a mistake somewhere.

    Basicly the why it works is the connection pool hold the database connections. When the user needs a connection they use the database controller to request a connection (By create a instance and called the connect() method) and the connection is either created or grabed from the connection pool. After the user is done with the connection they call the disconnect() method which closes the connection or returns it to the connection pool.

  • Error while trying to access WebService using WSIF

    Hi All,
    I am a new developer to WebServices. I read up information on how to create the WSDL and stubs using JDev 10g (10.1.2) using the wsa.jar that ships with the download. After creating my WSDL and the necessary proxies, when I try to run my client application (which runs in the same covatiner, standalone OC4j), I get the below error :
    06/09/29 13:42:21 org.apache.wsif.WSIFException: org.apache.wsif.providers.ejb.WSIFOperation_EJB@15b0c83 : Could not invoke 'getOrderList'; nested exception is:

    I am trying to expose a Stateless Session EJB as a WebService, which contains a method called getOrderList(). This method returns an array of a complex type (Java Bean).
    I am, however, able to succesfully access the WebService using the SOAP/HTTP protocol.
    My client code is as follows:
    WSIFServiceFactory factory = WSIFServiceFactory.newInstance();
    WSIFService service = factory.getService("<path to wsdl>", null, null, "http://sample.com/", "OrderService");
    orderService = (OrderService) service.getStub("WsifEjb", OrderService.class);
    Not sure what am I missing here. If any further information is required in order to resolve this, please let me know.
    Thanks,

    You are trying to get 2 databases connected... so, you need to insure that FDEV can find and connect to ABCD.
    So, from your FDEV database server, you can do 2 things (from command prompt):
    1* tnsping ABCD (this will validate that the entry exists in your tnsnames.ora on your FDEV server, and that a valid listener can be found on remote server)
    when above command succeeds:
    2* sqlplus apps/appsdev@ABCD;
    when you have established the connection, then you are SURE that your can connect ABCD database from FDEV database server. It will also validate the username / password combination, create session privilige, account not locked, etc.....
    Please check the above, and post here the results.

    Thierry

    Hello Luke,
    We have not done any modification of the downloadschema file. We receive message: The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.  when we open the file.
    The SAP account we used has SAP_AlLL, SAP_NEW authorizations. Are these authorizations sufficient to perform the data extraction?
    Thanks,

    can any one help on this

    Hi,
    If your  JAVA Application is Web based application, you can expose it as Webservice.
    JAVA People will pick the data from Dbase using their application and will send the data to XI by using our XI Details like Message Interface and Data type structure and all.
    So we can Use SOAP Adapter or HTTP in XI..
    If you use HTTP for sending the data to XI means there is no need of Adapter also. why because HTTP sits on ABAP Stack and can directly communicate with the XI Integration Server Directly
    If you are dealing with the Webservice and SAP Applications means check this

  • J2EE mysql connection pool

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a mysql connection pool using the admin console. The mysql JDBC driver is located in <install_dir>/domains/domain1/lib/ext.
    For Datasource Classname I use com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlDataSource
    A ping results in:
    Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection could not be allocated because: null, message from server: "Host 'localhost.localdomain' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server"
    When changing the URL property to localhost a ping results in:
    Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection object cannot be null
    Any ideas about what goes wrong?
    Thanks...

    I did a simple php test:
    <?php
    mysql_connect("localhost.localdomain", "user", "pass") or die(mysql_error());
    echo "Connected to MySQL<br />";
    ?>
    This results in:
    Warning: mysql_connect(): Host 'localhost.localdomain' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server in /var/www/mathesis/mambo/mysql.php on line 2
    Host 'localhost.localdomain' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server
    <?php
    mysql_connect("localhost", "user", "pass") or die(mysql_error());
    echo "Connected to MySQL<br />";
    ?>
    results in: Connected to MySQL
    So I see two possible solutions:
    1) Make the appserver use localhost instead of localhost.localdomain (specifying localhost as property doesn't work!).
    2) Make MySQL accept localhost.localdomain connections.
    For both possible solutions I'm searching for answers...
