Slow up loading for sending E mail with attachments. It takes a long time to send most attchments. I'm on cable and had no problems prior to changing to Mac.com

You need to start in the app that contains the file that you want to send as an attachment, and use that app's functionality (assuming that it has it) to select the file and connect it to an email - you can't start in the Mail app itself

  • Application Loader for Mac OS X 10.5.8

Where can Ifind Application Loader for Mac OS X 10.5.8. The latest version of AppLoader is cannot be installed to this OS version. Help please. Thanks.

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

  • Websites slow to load

i have an imac with osx 10.4.9. lately it has been slow to load websites. I have a 8 megabit connection via comcast. i tested the connection speed and it actually around 4-5 mbps which is fine. however, the computer loads websites extremely slowly- regardless of what browser i use.
my roommate also has an imac. when testing them next to eachother, his computer can open up webpages almost 3 times as fast as mine.
it sometimes can take me a good 10-15 seconds to open a site like google (which normally takes me no more than one or two seconds).
I know my internet connection is actually very fast because when downloading things, it goes faster than any connection i've ever had. for some reason it just is very slow to load webpages.
i am wondering what could be the cause of this and what can i do to fix it? i HAVE deleted my browsing history a few times in the past week to try to clean up some clutter, but i've done that before and it never made a difference. it just seems odd to me that downloads would go so fast but webpages would load so slowly.
    thanks!!

am in the DFW area using Verizon Fios - I have a D-Link DIR-655 router and a 24" Imac running Mac OS X 10.5.1. I purchased the Apple Airport router thinking the problem with internet speed might be my router. This was not the case - every computer in the house was much slower using the Airport - so I returned it to my Apple store.
I have now switched off the bluetooth and airport on my Mac - it is hooked straight into the router and every day at about 6:00 it slows down to turtle speed while my other 2 laptops that are wireless in the house and much older - are lightening fast.
I have called Verizon and had them out - they say there are not enough people on Fios to create any traffic problems at certain times of the day - which I believe being that the Apple Imac is the only computer with the problem.
I have downloaded Firefox and have the exact same problem.
There has got to be some solution for this - my speed checks out very fast during this time - T2 speed for download and upload - I'm ready to throw this apple out the window.

  • My website garbled on Safari for Mac

I'm getting reports that one of my websites isn't loading correctly in Safari on Macs - it works just fine in all other browsers and on Safari for Windows. It's apparently coming up with half the home page overlayed by another page in the site with no links working, either on the navbar or others.
This is what the code says. (I hope this screen shot can be enlarged.) It's looking for files that would have no business in my code. I have no vimeo clips, and see that "zoomin.cur" and "zoomout.cur" are Wordpress-generated (?) files, and I'm not using Wordpress. The website, done in Xara Web Design MX Premium, is: www.salisburycongregational.org. Thank you for any guidance you might be able to provide.

To andy.... Sheez, thank you for pointing out the Vimeo video. I'd completely forgotten it was there. Some pages rarely get attention. They're just there.
    What are "cursor images"?
"What OS & Safari version were the problems noted with ?". Wish I could tell you, but even if I'd gotten the information first hand, I'm not sure this particular population would know the answer themselves. (They tend to be quite elderly - and I say that as a 70 year old myself - and probably still use AOL for email.) All I've been told is that several people haven't been able to get the site to work. The few mentioned whom I know do use Safari on an iMac, so I'm jumping to the conclusion that that this applies to most if not all.
Had a LOL moment when you said "the web inspector went silly." See my response to Bee about Xara Web Designer. Xara would make any web inspector want to go back to being a spell checker.

  • Https sites slow to load for IE in Server 2008 R2

    Hello All,
I have an issue with our new server where https sites are slow to load or do not load at all in IE 9 or Google Chrome. Using Firefox any page loads fine. I have tested many things, reinstalled IE, downgraded to IE8, upgraded to IE10, checked
the forums, tested SSL settings and still get the same issue.
For example if I open IE, navigate to google.com I will get a "waiting for google.com" that will sometimes take 5 minutes to load; the same behavior is noticed on Google Chrome but not Firefox. I did notice that if I installed google.com
SSL certificate that the page would load normally. I have tested the same method on another Server 2008 R2 box with no issues. I am not sure what the issue could be. Any ideas or direction would be greatly appreciated since this issue is directly affecting
    business operations for my client.
    Thank you!

  • I need to down load for mac 10.4 it was there last week now i can not find it

help with download for mac 10.4

As of Firefox 4.0 and newer a Intel and OSX 10.5+ is required.
For the old OSX 10.4.x and also PPC Macs the last version from Mozilla to work is the 3.6.* as the current version can be found at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Since you are using PPC there is a third-party option for Firefox 5.0 at http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/downloads/list as the tenfourfox.com is down at moment. There is no actual 4.0.2 or 4.0.3 releases and the 6.0b1 are test builds. I suggest to use Firefox 5.0

  • MacBook Pro is running slow... for Mac standards....

    Hey everyone,
I purchased a MBP about two months ago and recently I have noticed that it is running rather slowly. I have the Mountain Lion update (which I know came with a few character flaws) and I update the software whenever that option is available to me, but nothing seems to cure the problems.
When I log into my computer, after having it sleep for a few hours, it starts up as if it would after being shut down, as in it sounds like the hardrive is waking up (I can't explain this in a techincal way because I am slightly stupid to these things). It doesn't restart, it just makes similar noises and has the annoying bootup screen. It freezes my log in for a bit and then I put my password in only to wait about another minute or so for my desktop to load.
I know this isn't normal, because it has been running smoothly and quickly since I've purchased it. This is my only beef, and it is not so much as impatience, as it is that I want my machine to be running good and have good health. Does this issue sound foreign? I have AppleCare, but is there anything I should do before making an appointment?

The definition of a FAD in the resident Apple dictionary is as follows:
"an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, esp. one that is short-lived and without basis in the object's qualities; a craze:"
The Etrecheck report does not fit that criteria. It contains a large quantity of accurate information on a given Mac which often can provide valuable information towards solving problems. It allows inspection of various hardware and software components that often eliminates much information gathering, reducing correspondence and thus can speed up the problem resolution process.
It is simply a valuable tool that often can be used to advantage when the need arises. If one feels that it does not suit their methodology of problem solving, then that certainly is their choice.
HOWEVER A FAD IT IS NOT.
    Ciao.

  • One website slow to load

I'm having problems with the website sharebuilder.com.  It takes over a minute just for their homepage to load, and then a similar amount of time to navigate within their site.  I've tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome browsers as well as my iPad, all with the same or very similar results.  It is the only website I have this problem with.  E-trade and Scottrade, similar sites, load in about 2 seconds.  I have contacted customer support at sharebuilder and they are looking into it, but say they don't show they're having any problems with load speed.  Can you offer any suggestions other than clearing the cache and history which I have tried.  This happens when I use my Airport or Airport Express (different location, same problem).
Thank you so much for your help.

I wonder if this is possibly a DNS issue.  Try entering the actual IP address in your address bar.  Instead of typing in "Sharebuilder.com", type the following:
    199.15.190.12
That's the actual address for Sharebuilder.  By entering the actual address, you bypass the DNS servers (which typically translate the name you type into the correct address).  If it loads quickly using the IP address, we can change your DNS server easily.  I'd just like to confirm this is the issue before we take that route.
As you can manually set a DNS server or have it dynamically set, that would explain why your machine works at Starbucks (it's using whatever DNS server their router is configured for).  It would also explain why someone bringing their computer to your house might work as they may have their machine set up to use a different DNS server.

  • Slow sharepoint loading by Mac mini to 10.4.11 Server

My Intel Mac mini 1.66 GHz Core Duo with 2Gb RAM takes almost 30 seconds to connect to sharepoints, but our iMac 17" 1.83 GHz Core Duo with 2Gb RAM connects almost instantaneously. How can I speed up the mini?
At startup I have set our Mac desktops to connect to some sharepoints hosted on our 10.4.11 PowerMac server. Each one connects to the relevant sharepoints on the server and then I run an Apple Script to close the Finder windows that open. This all happens automatically after logging in on the desktop Mac.
I just cannot understand the difference in sharepoint connection performance from two near identical Macs.
Can anyone please suggest some way to reduce the time it takes for the mini to connect to the sharepoints? It is always possible I set things up differently or wrong, but where would I have to go and look to find out? Or is the fact that the iMac has a Graphics card which can draw the Finder windows more quickly the reason? I'm stumped. I actually don't need the Finder windows to open (I'd prefer them not to) but I cannot find any other way to connect the sharepoints at login.
    TIA
    Mac

I timed it today more accurately. From pressing Enter after typing my login details it took 20 seconds for OS X to become usable in my user account, then a further 20 seconds for the first sharepoint Finder window to become available, and the sixth one hadn't finished loading until 1m 38s had passed from pressing the Enter key.
This seems rather a long time. Any ideas why this might be?
    TIA

  • Website building software recommendations for Macs

Looking for advise on web-building software that is Mac friendly, easy to use and cheap. I have a career counseling practice and want to build my visibility and do not anticipate needing more than 5 pages but would like blog capability as well.
Kind thanks for recommendations and advice as to a more appropriate forum for this question if appropriate.
    Thanks so much.
    Connie

    Hi Connie
No problem! I think there are 25 or so ... it's really a very straightforward program to use, I suggest you have a look at the tutorials and then jump in and see how you get on. You can always post back if you have specific questions (though I do recommend you post in the iWeb forum section, just because you'll get more specific help there).
    good luck!

  • DNS & Certain Slow to Load Web Pages

I've been living with this problem for a couple of years now, and it really isn't a high priority aside from the possibility that it could some day manifest itself in a more serious manner.
The problem is that macnn.com and macfixit.com are very very slow to load. Not a big deal which is why I was not motivated to spend any time fixing this!
In all the time I had this problem, those two slow to load sites in my own office has been the extent of the problem. When I take either my PowerBook or MacBook Pro off-site the problem goes away. When other laptops are brought into my office they have the problem, but not off-site.
    Background:
A few years ago I set up a Tiger server on a G4 tower and set up DNS, DHCP, Open Directory Master, AFP, Software Update, VPN and Portable Homes.
I have set up similar configurations at several client locations, but none of them have had this problem.
My ISP is qwest, as it is for many of my customers with Mac servers I admin. I always use qwests 205.171.3.65 and 205.171.2.65 DNS servers.
All along I figured something was FUBAR with my internal DNS, and figured the problem would go away with either a server rebuild or by getting a new server.
Now fast forward to more recent months:
I have moved to a new location across town, I have bought a Mac Pro tower & set up Leopard server on it (starting from scratch including a new and different .private DNS zone), and I upgraded my Qwest DSL from 1.5 meg to 12 meg fiber optic, getting a new modem in the process.
    And the problem remains!
I do have a static IP with qwest. This is the only thing I can think of that has remained constant.
I have searched and did discover that it is not an uncommon thing for people to experience slow load times for those two sites. But wow is it strange that it manifests itself in such a limited and stubborn way for me!
My concern is that this same problem could appear at one of my client locations, but with web sites that they need to use frequently.
    Any insights?

    Hi
If it's any consolation both sites mentioned have always been slow to load for me. Regardless of Service Bandwidth, external/internal DNS, Browser, Platform or Location.
Occasionally and for no apparent reason they do load as quickly as other sites. Only to return to their usual 'performance' after a short time. There are other sites that perform the same for me which I can't think of at the moment.
    Tony

  • Websites Don't Load. Just reverts to Page Load Error.

Like I said in the title, every time I go to a website, it just loads for about half a minute before going to the error page. Strangely, this only happens for new sites that I visit. Ones that I have visited before seem fine. (By the way, this only started to happen recently, that's what I mean by before)

    Welcome to Apple discussions, ThegReenmOnster.
Something similar happened to me recently and so I *deleted all cookies* and *emptied the cache* in Safari, and that seemed to clear things up.
