Webutil and db_to_client and transfering a clob

Question

Is there any reason why webutil does not like clobs.. I keep getting ora-00932 when trying to use these functions to get a clob from the db to the client pc. It works fine for blobs. Why did Oracle implement this only for blobs and forget clobs? Is there any other code or work around as simple as these functions to transfer a clob to the pc? I have some code to chunk a clob out of the db, but that requires packages and hassle.

Hello,
The logic used to read/write binary content is done in the webutil_db package.
I think (not done) that it would not be a big work to duplicate the functions in the package to have them working with CLOB columns...
