Webutil error in forms
Hi,
I am using client_host to navigate to the URL on the browser and freeze the form while working on the url and when we close the browser then we should be able to work on the form, for this I used client_host
client_host('C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.EXE http://www.google.com');
I attached webutil.pll library and even I added webutil object group and subclass it to my form. still getting the following error
oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host bean not found. webutil_host.Execute will not work
Is there anything I need to change in configuration file or any of the functions code in webutil pl/sql library? Please let me know I need it immediately.
First, review this: http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2007/03/02
Any time you get a bean not found error, it will be caused when one of two things is true:
1. The bean is not in or correctly in the form
2. The necessary jar files are not being downloaded to the client (in this case frmwebutil.jar).
So, do the following in exactly the order shown:
1. Close ALL open browsers
2. Open your form in the Builder
3. With the form (Module) selected in the Object Navigator, press Ctrl+Shift+K (this will execute a compile_all)
4. Save the form (Ctrl+S)
5. Generate a new fmx by pressing Ctrl+T (Be sure that you have also generated a webutil.plx file before running)
6. Run the form manually in a browser. Do not use the Builder's "Run form" button. For example, the url will look something like this (use your machine name and port):
http://mymachine:port/forms/frmservlet?form=myForm&config=webutil
Notice the config=webutil at the end. This will cause the form to run using the default WebUtil configuration we (Oracle) provide in the formsweb.cfg.

Webutil error while generate excel form
Hi
In my forms appl. I use webutil in order to generate excel reports
I have to midtier instances both running on a separate host.
End users connect through a WLB frontend.
At one of the midtiers, when generating a excel report using webutil "error while running kit"
No errors appear in any log on the midtier. On a log table in the database ORA-12703 appears but I'm not sure if thats related.
On the other midtier, with the same compiled forms using the same database it works fine.
Does anyone have a clue?

MichelHi
Are you talking about adobe forms or smartforms. These are 2 different types of forms. For Adobe forms you need an ADS which sits on the java stack and needs to be configured properly. Some services need to be activated in SICF for the configuration as well. A conplete guide on how to configure the ADS is found on the following link
[https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/adobe?rid=/webcontent/uuid/90355269-4d89-2a10-0bb9-f388704f1dcd]

what could be the reason.plz. help.
shikha...Hi Shika,
Probably, the issue could be because of any one of the following.
<br>
<br>
1. Check whether you have added $OARCLE_HOME\forms90\java\frmwebutil.jar in the default.env under $ORACLE_HOME\Forms90\server folder.
<br>
<br>
2. Check whether you have added the virtual directory
<virtual-directory virtual-path="/webutil" real-path="$OARCLE_HOME/forms90/webutil" />
in the file orion-web.xml under $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\DevSuite\application-deployments\forms\forms90web folder

How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
Solution
Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
Note: [OraHome] is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
[OraHome] with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
[JacobStage] is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
cd [JacobStage]
copy jacob.jar [OraHome]\forms\java\.
copy jacob.dll [OraHome]\forms\webutil\.
The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
Open a DOS command prompt.
Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
Sign the files, and check the output for success:
[OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
[OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
you may skip this step. Otherwise,
Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
Open [OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
errors.
Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
CONNECT webutil/[password]@[connectstring]
@[OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
-- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
grant execute on webutil_db to public;
5) Modify [OraHome]\forms\server\default.env, and append [OraHome]\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
to the CLASSPATH entry.
6) Start the OC4J instance
7) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in
Note 303682.1
If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
8) Create a new FMB.
Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
NULL;
to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
show_webutil_information (TRUE);
in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
9) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
the "Application Server URL" is empty.
Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
10) Run your form.hope this helps u.

Error loading Forms with WebUtil
Hi,
I've just tried the new Webutil kit for Forms and i've set up all the parameters but i keep getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundErrorException: com/jacob/com/comFailexception
I think my settings are ok, i follow the doc litterally but in certain case, it is not accurate. Exemple: The doc talk about a jacob.dll file in the webutil/lib directory. And there is only 1 template (webutiljini.html) file but in the doc they talk about 3 template file. Is the download file missing some files or my settings are not ok.
I try to run a Form from Form Builder and OC4J Forms Instance at first. When this will work, i will try on 9iAS.
Does somebody as this working?
Roger LachanceFrom the JACOB site:
<QUOTE>
As it stands, the code will only compile with JVC (Microsoft's compiler) and only run under JVIEW (Microsoft's VM). However, if you have the JACOB distribution installed, then you can replace the two top lines with:
import com.jacob.com.*;
import com.jacob.activeX.*;
[/code
and now, you can compile this with any Java compiler and run it using any Java VM on any Win32 platform.
</QUOTE>
Not ideal I know, but if billg insists on playing silly beggars when it comes to Java the rest of us will have to put up with it, for as long as Windows remains the world's favourite desktop.

Dear All,
i am facing a problem of running webutil functions. I have compiled my webutil.pll and then attach to my form and then i copy the webtuil.olb objects into my
form and i created one button on my form to show the calculator the code is as follows
Note: i have webutil.cfg in my classpath of default.env file and i signed both webtuil.jar and jacob.jar successfully but still i am facing error.
e.g;
when-button-press
webutil_host.host('calc.exe');
error: oracle.forms.webutil.host HOST bean not found.
WEBUTIL_HOST.execute will not work.
Thanks.
Immediate help will be appreciated....Hi,
Have you entered the webutil values in the formsweb.cfg file?
e.g. WebUtilConfig=<somewhere>\WebUtil\server\webutil.cfg
WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
WebUtilErrorMode=Alert
WebUtilConfig=<somewhere>\WebUtil\server\webutil.cfg
baseHTMLjinitiator=<somewhere>\WebUtil\server\webutiljini.htm
baseHTMLjpi=<somewhere>\WebUtil\server\webutiljpi.htm
baseHTML=<somewhere>\WebUtil\server\webutilbase.htm
Hopefully this may help you.

WUT-125 Webutil Error happens occasionally....
Hello,
We are currently running OAS 10g (10.1.2) ti deliver a web-based Forms application to our users (some are onsite and some off-site).
We use the WEBUTIL file transfer function CLIENT_TO_AS_WITH_PROGRESS to allow the users to upload their work (they are illustrators) tot he server, to be added to their image library.
Occasionally, and almost always offsite and therefore outside our firewall, we get the following error (please note I have replaced the URL value for anonymity):

I should also note that the directory /data is actually a linked folder on the UNIX box pointing to an area on a Windows file server.
This process works more often than not but around 5% are getting this error and thus stopping certain users being able to complete their work...
We've tried to trap this error via the WEBUTIL error log but the errors are not being logged there.
Very odd and head scratching time, thus... help?

Webutil error - Haven't found this one posted
I am having a webutil error that is very difficult to diagnose.
I am running the wu_test_106 demo from oracle. The Client Info tab works, and the 'Files in user.home' button works in the Files tab.
However, the client_get_file_name call (the ... button on the Builtins tab) does not work (and won't work in my own form).
There are no errors on the application server, no errors come up in the form, and no errors show in the Java console.
When you click this button that makes the client_get_file_name call, the form locks up. No other action is apparent. You have to manually kill the process just to close the form.
Any ideas?
Thanks!When posting please be sure to include details so that we can assist. This is the same if you contact Support. Far more information is needed in order for anyone to be able to assist. For example here are just a few questions which need answers:
o What is the COMPLETE Forms version you are using? This can be found in the Java Console when running a form (assuming the form starts). Do not simply say "10g" or "9i". These are not product versions - these are product names.
o What is the COMPLETE WebUtil version you are using? This can be found in the Java Console when running a form (assuming the form starts).
o What is the client platform and version?
o Which browser and version is used on the client machine?
o Which JRE and version is used to run the form (+e.g. Oracle Jinitiator 1.3.1.30, Sun JRE 1.5.0_17+)? -

FRM-40039 Cannot attach library webutil while opening form
FORMS90_PATH=C:\Applications\Webutil\forms;C:\Applications\Wms;
Webutil.Pll is in the first directory.
All other code (PLL and FMX etc ) is the second directory.
I have bounced the formsserver.
The application works fine, until...
I attach the library webutil to the form (without path).
I run the form and receive the error.
I have NOT even started with Webutil.Olb yet !!!
Anyone any thoughts ?Mark - the builder will look for PLLs onthe Forms90_path in the registry . The runtime looks in the formsweb.cfg and default.env (it will be in the default.env).

Error Running Forms: Failure of server APACHE bridge
Hi Everyone,
I have this problem on windows 7 64-bit... installation went fine without any errors.
Forms was working fine, i was able to run test form, and a form that i created, and both were running properly..
suddenly, while testing a new form module, it didn't work, and its showing :
Failure of server APACHE bridge:
No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF. I stopped and started the wls_forms and it didn't solve the problem..
i couldn't get to a solution anywhere, is it a problem with weblogic configuration? but how was it working well at the begining... if weblogic services are not starting, then what's the fix for that?
Help would be appreciated...
Thanks..No, but as said you installed components (the HTTP Server) you wouldn't need for development. Did you start WLS_FORMS?
In any case the latest version of forms would be 11.1.2 where the installation process for a development machine is much easier.
You'd need
- wls1035_generic.jar and a 64bit java runtime
- the 64bit version of forms 11.1.2: http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/111200/ofm_frmrpts_win_11.1.2.0.0_64_disk1_1of1.zip
of course you can install the 32bit version of forms too on your 64bit machine.
then during installation just check "development mode", and you get a development installation like you got with iDS 10.1.2 with one weblogic instance instead of 3 and all the components you won't need (like webcache or the http server) won't be installed.

"Invalid Cursor" Error in Form
Hi,
I wrote a procedure that take a REF CURSOR as an IN OUT argument. This procedure does an "OPEN cursor FOR qry" with a dynamic query:
OPEN l_cursor FOR
'SELECT A '||
'FROM B '||
'WHERE C = :l_var'
USING myVar;After calling the procedure, I do a LOOP with FETCH.
It works well when I use it in SQL*Plus with DBMS_OUTPUT but it returns a "ORA-01001 invalid cursor" error in Forms.
Any help is welcome!

TusharHi Tushar,
Your problem is happening because of the applicaiton of an SAP Note. I think PM has nothing to do with this Error. Pl. read the following (which I read this from one SAP website) & check the relevant SAP notes and take action or write to SAP for solution.
Symptom
The posting of goods receipts results in a long runtime.
Other terms
ACTUPD, MIGO, performance, material ledger
Reason and Prerequisites
The actual costing is active.
The performance problems usually occur when there are several procurement alternatives or procurement processes (tables CKMLMV001 and CKMLMV002) for certain materials.
This can be caused by implementing the modification according to Note 1017470 or 919869, [...]
