I am trying to use Webutil in Oracle EBS Release 12.1.3. I have configured all the following options:
    1. Downloaded frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar and copied those files in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/java
    2. Downloaded jacob.dll and copied this file in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil
    3. Did the following configuration in webutil.cfg

    # Change size and version if necessary, like when upgrading the library.

  • WebUtil Error

I have Form that I have been running on my computer using the Developer suite. I recently added the Webutil library to try and access the local machine. This worked on my own machine when testing. Then I copied the files over to our AppServer, and when I run the program from my computer I get this error when I call "client_host('cmd');" from a button:
WUC-015: Your Form must contain the following Bean for this
    function to be available:
    oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host
I have the exact same config file on the Appserver as my own machine. Anyone know where I can start to look for the problem??

    webUtilArchive=/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar,/forms90/webutil/jacob.jar
This is what is in my config file on the appserver. And I think this is causing the problem... The log is as follows:
(let me point out that I did not make any changes to the orion-web.xml file like I did in my DS box. I could not find the correct file to make changes to on the AS box. I did a search and there are about 20 of them, which one do you change?).

  • WUT-125 Webutil Error happens occasionally....

    Hello,
We are currently running OAS 10g (10.1.2) ti deliver a web-based Forms application to our users (some are onsite and some off-site).
We use the WEBUTIL file transfer function CLIENT_TO_AS_WITH_PROGRESS to allow the users to upload their work (they are illustrators) tot he server, to be added to their image library.

As said, it is a sporadic problem but then seems to persist for certain files.
I should also note that the directory /data is actually a linked folder on the UNIX box pointing to an area on a Windows file server.
This process works more often than not but around 5% are getting this error and thus stopping certain users being able to complete their work...
We've tried to trap this error via the WEBUTIL error log but the errors are not being logged there.
Very odd and head scratching time, thus... help?

    hi
u have to sign jars something like this.
    o C:\cd <Developer Home>\jdk\bin
    o C:\<Developer Home>\jdk\bin>
    <Developer Home>\forms90\webutil\sign_webutil.bat
<Developer Home>\forms90\java\frmwebutil.jarand also u have to modify Default.env. something like this.
In a new line under (FORMS90_PATH=) add this line:
    o WEBUTIL_CONFIG=<Developer Home>\forms90\server\webutil.cfg
when i signed the jars so i got the result something like this in java folder.
    jacob.jar.old
    hope it helps u.

  • Weird WebUtil Error.

I am attempting to test WebUtil "client_host" on an HP-UX 9iAS install. I have created a form that has a command line that I can enter the command I want to run and a button to run it. I have sucessfully tested this form on both a Windows 9iDS and 9iAS installs (No problems, runs the command as expected). When I run this same form off of the HP-UX 9iAS I get the following error:
    FRM-40735: WHEN-CUSTOM-ITEM-EVENT trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06508.
I get this error when the form starts up. When I enter my command and attempt to run it I get the following error:
    FRM-40735: WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger raised unhandled excpetion ORA-06508.
I get no WUC-(whatever) error codes and my command does not run. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Steve.

Here is the entire console log contents from the time I start the app to when I attempt to run my command (in this case - notepad.exe):

  • Webutil errors WUO-714 and 705

I am getting following errors when I try to call a third party application using webutil. It is working fine but apparently in the java console I see these errors . Same code works great in 6 and 6i. I am basically creating an object and logging into the application.
2003-Jul-21 15:50:35.328 ERROR>WUO-714 [OleFunctions.setExceptionValues()] Unable to get the last OLE Error details; Exception
    null
2003-Jul-21 15:50:35.328 ERROR>WUO-705 [OleFunctions.invoke_ret_obj()] Unable to invoke Method: Logon; Exception
    com.jacob.com.ComFailException: VariantChangeType failed
2003-Jul-21 15:50:50.125 ERROR>WUO-705 [OleFunctions.invoke_ret_obj()] Unable to invoke Method: Logon; Exception
    com.jacob.com.ComFailException: Invoke of: Logon
Could someone from Forms Product Group look into this please ?
    Pardha

As mentioned in the FAQ the OLE integration with WebUtil is not guartenteed to be exactly the same as in client server. In this case it looks like its a but more fussy when it comes to the use of the correct datatypes.
As the error says: "VariantChangeType failed" e.g. converting from the supplied data type to the data type that the OLE server actually expects has failed.
There is probably nothing we can do about this and certainly without the OLE server in question being known or its APIs I can't make any suggestions.

  • About webutil error

oracle.forms.webutil.file transfer.file transfer bean not found.WEBUTIL_FILE_TRANSFER.getMaxTransfer will not work.
while loading imge in forms 10g from client side i am getting above error.i
configured webutil properly.can anyone help me with solution of above error.

    1. Have you followed all the instructions mentioned in the user guide?
    2. Do you have Jacob.jar and other related files in Apps Server(its a open source and you can download from here: http://danadler.com/jacob/)?
    3. If you have done these already, then please ensure that you have created the form correctly with the compiled webutil.pll (you have to compile the pll file after downloading webutil). Is the same compiled pll is available is Application Server
    4. Have you included the webutil.olb file in the form?
    5. Finally, could you check whether your Jinitiator has frmwebuil.jar and jacob, jar initialized (I strongly believe this could be the reason for your problem)?
    6. Lastly, what is the version of forms/apps server you are using (since Oracle has said it is not tested in prior versions than 10g)
Let me know if you need any help on these.
    Warm Regards,
    Raja.

    Thank You

    You said:
...problem when i open form on client side then i get following errors, but when i work on local machine where my forms server is installed ... However, the error shows that you are using port 8889. This suggests you are using Developer Suite and not application server (unless you've changed the ports). Developer Suite is not intended for remote access, nor is it intended for multiple user access. Although it can be made to work in this manner, it is not supported. Deployment should be configured using Application Server
So, if the above is not true and you are in fact using Application Server, the consider the following:
    1. Can you access the libraries if you attempt to locate them manually using your browser. Open a browser from a client machine and enter a url such as:
    http://domainname:8889/forms/webutil/ffisamp.dll
You should be presented with a "Save" / "Open" file dialog box. If not, then the issue is related to the fact that either the client cannot communicate with the server (e.g. firewall, incorrect address, etc) or the server is not responding or the file requested is not found on the server.
    2. If the client machine is Vista, Win7, or Win2008, by default, Windows will not permit the files to be written into the "Program Files" directory. In this case, refer to MyOracleSupport Note 783937.1 ; This note will explain how to change the destination directory of where the libraries will be stored on the client.

  • I want to Sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes however I get an error message from iTunes each time I connect the phone to the PC saying that I should restore to factory settings. Frustrating because it's already annoying enough that I can't drag and drop mp3's!!!

I have never been so frustrated before in my life with any phone. I find it obnoxious as it is that I cannot simply drag and drop files (especially MP3's) straight from my PC directly into my phone, which I have been used to doing up until now. Everyone who convinced me to get the iPhone has instructed me that my frustration can be fixed by downloading iTunes and syncing it all up via that program (which I have never used before). So, I downloaded the program successfully, however when I connect the iPhone 4 to the PC and iTunes is open, I get an error message that 'iTunes cannot read the content of the iPhone "iPhone" and that I should go to the Preferences tab of the iPhone and select 'restore' to restore this phone to factory settings. First of all, I don't understand why I need to do that. I have already downloaded apps and other important things in the 2 days that I have the phone. I am also scared that it will erase my contacts. This is such a headache. Music is very imporatant to me, but I am getting so frustrated that I don't have freedom over the phone which I thought was supposed to be one of the best out there. I would really appreciate help in this matter. I am sure the phone is great but I am on the verge of taking it back and getting something else.

    Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    or here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
