i installed form&report 11g R2 on win 2008 64 R2
After install ,i download jacob and sign jar file with webutil signer and copy in java directory
then run webutil_demo.fmx without error
but sometime i get this error:

The cause of the message you provided may vary. I would start by assuming that one of the client jar files is either not signed or has expired. Assuming you are not using any custom jars, I will assume the only possible jar which may have such a problem would be jacob.jar. This might happen, for example if you previously used the Oracle (Forms) provided courtesy script to sign it. If the original certification was create and stored over one year ago and you now signed a new jar with the same script, its cert would have likely expired. If any of this is possible, resign jacob.jar or any custom jars you may be using.
Another possible cause would be if you are attempting to open or reopen a second session running webutil in a previously opened browser. In other words, you open a browser and load a webutil enabled form then in another tab or windows (of the same session) launch another.
If neither of these seems likely, try doing the following:
1. Close ALL open browser
2. Clear the JRE jar cache (temporary file). This can be done from the Java Control panel found on the Windows Control Panel
3. Delete any occurances of a file names webutil.*.properties - the * is a wildcard. The exact name of the file will vary depending on the server name and config used to call the form.
4. Verify that none of the following files exist in the client JRE \bin directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin). If they do, delete them.

I'm trying to resize partitions to back up but after attaching I'm having problems restarting and/or shutting down. I keep getting gray screen And have to shut down to start up. We are having the same problem for years now (Forms10g with webutil) and had no solution but disabling the client cache. But this has to be done on the client.

I have a problem with Webutil. I installed th Oracle Forms/Reports 11g in Red Hat 5.5 x86_64, and when is necessary run a pure Forms, it´s works.
Now, when I will try run a Forms with Webutil, don´t show in browser IE 9 - Win 7 64bits - Java Plug-in 1.6.0_25 Using JRE version 1.6.0_25-b04 Java HotSpot(TM) Client.
What can be to show only a gray screen and dont show my Forms ? In java console don´t showed any error, neither in WLS_FORMS.log and forms-diagnost.log.

1. The JRE crashed after startup. Many times, but not always, if such a crash occurs it will leave a JRE dump file on the desktop. Its content may help to identify the cause.
2. The Forms runtime crashed at startup. Many times, but not always, a Forms dump file will be created on the server. Its content may help to identify the cause.
3. The Forms runtime was unable to start at all. This can occur on unix systems when/if there is a resource or permissions issue. One of the more common causes is if the file descriptor (nofiles) value is set too low.
4. The applet is actually running, but has attempted to display a dialog box and is awaiting your acknowledgement, but the box was wrongfully sent to the background behind the browser. A similar issue was reported in one of the JRE 1.6.0_xx series, however I don't recall which one. Uninstall your current version and install the latest which is 1.6.0_27
There are other possibilities, but these are most common.
I would recommend the following:
1. Uninstall any JRE older than 1.6.0_27. Reboot. Install 1.6.0_27
2. Set networkRetries=5 in formsweb.cfg
3. Set FORMS_TIMEOUT to 15 (default). Setting to a high value as you have is not recommended and is rarely necessary.
4. Verify that the test form works. For example:

5. It appears that you are trying to use WU_TEST_106.fmx. Instead, download an updated version of this file (the name has also changed)

Hi All,
i have a strange case , i managed to configure Webutil under my 10.1.2 AS and jini. , and after that i replaced the jini. with jpi , it works fine but it takes alot of time to load the forms that contains Webutil usage almost (50sec.) where it takes only 2-3 sec. , any hints .... Thanksi forgot to mension , it works fine without any error except the delay and iam using 2003 Server 64Bit, thanks

Hello experts,
recently i install and configure according to steps:
1. Run create_webutil_db.sql
a. CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY webutil
b. Grant connect, resource to webutil
c. Connect webutil/webutil
d. @[ORACLE_HOME]/forms/create_webutil_db.sql
e. Create public synonym webutil_db for webutil.webutil_db;
f. Connect sys as sysdba
g. Grant execute on webutil_db to public;
2. Copy and download Jacob from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jacob-project/files/jacob-project/1.14.3/jacob-1.14.3.zip/download
a. Unzip the jacob download and place jacob.jar in the
ORACLE_HOME/forms/java directory
b. backup sign_webuitl.bat script in [ORACLE_INSTANCE]/bin/sign_webutil.sh
c. search for <Your KEYSTORE password> and replace it with welcome1 (or
something like this)
d. search for <Your private key password> and replace it with welcome1 (or
something like this)
e. Save the script and use it to sign jacob.jar as below
f. [ORACLE_INSTANCE]/bin/sign_webutil.sh
[ORACLE_HOME]/forms/java/jacob.jar
3. Place jacob.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/ directory
4. Jacob.dll in r2 – file names must be verified against webutil.cfg file
a. Place jacob-1.14.3-x86.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/win32
directory.
b. Place jacob-1.14.3-x64.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/win64
directory
5. Using weblogic EM console, Add ORACLE_HOME/forms/java/frmall.jar to the
CLASSPATH in the default.env
6. Update formsweb.cfg webutil section with the following if not already
done:
a. Add frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar to the WebutilArchive parameter in the
[webutil] configuration section. For some versions of 11g, this is already
added.
b. Specify webutil_demo as the form to be run in the [webutil]
configuration section
7. Download webutil demo from link below, extract and put the contents in
a folder

8. Copy ffisamp.dll to the <ORACLE_HOME>\forms\webutil directory.
9. Open your webutil.cfg file and add the following line

a. transfer.appsrv.workAreaRoot=c:\temp
b. transfer.appsrv.accessControl=TRUE
c. transfer.database.enabled=TRUE

11. Add the folder in FORMS_PATH in enterprise manager
12. Replace db and run the following command:
a. frmcmp.sh module=webutil_demo.fmb module_type=form
userid=webutil/webutil@<db> compile_all=yes
b. FORMS_PATH variable and make sure webutil.pll folder is available in the
path or run the above command from command shell in the folder where webutil.pll
is available
13. Restart opmnctl and wls_forms weblogic instance
14. Run the webutil

1. Exactly which Forms version are you using? In order to do what you described, you should be using 11.1.2.x. Forms 11.1.1 or older will not work using the instructions you referred to.
2. I assume you just copied and pasted the instructions in your post because you included steps like this: "+ 3. Place jacob.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/ directory+ ". If you downloaded the correct Jacob, you won't have a jacob.dll file.
3. You said, " +b. FORMS_PATH variable and make sure webutil.pll folder is available + ". At runtime, FORMS_PATH will need access to webutil.plx and webutil_demo.fmx. The pll and fmb are for design time only. In the past, we permitted the use of ungenerated libraries (pll) at runtime, but this is no longer the case. You should always use the "X" file.
4. You did not mention any of the client information. OS, browser and version, JRE and version, etc. If the client OS is 64bit and you are running Forms 11.1.2, you have the option of using either the 32bit or 64bit Internet Explorer versions. However, you must have a matching JRE. In other words, if you are using 32bit IE, you must also use the 32bit JRE. For 64bit IE you must use the 64bit JRE.
5. If you are attempting to use Java 7 on the client, you must be running Forms 11.1.2.1.
6. Someone asked if you compiled webutil.plx. Did you do this before or after you generated the form (webutil_demo.fmx)? If you generated the form before the library, I would recommend regenerating the form. Again, be sure to include the compile_all=yes option. -

Patch 4960210 is 10.1.2.2. Given that your Forms components are still reporting 10.1.2.0.2 as seen in your posting, I will assume that you did not correctly install and relink the patch. You should be seeing version 10.1.2.2 and not 10.1.2.0.2. Refer to Metalink note 404477.1 as this may be the cause of the patching problem. The note and the patch mentioned within that note are specific to Windows and SPARC, but may help you to troubleshoot your Solaris Intel environment.
Although not related to your problem, be aware that the latest patch is 10.1.2.3 (patch ID 5983622)

WebUtil dll download error: Unable to write to local file

Hopefully I'm putting this in the correct forums.
I'm setting up a Forms application that uses webutils.
We're running Forms and Reports standalone (10.1.2.3.0) running on Solaris Sparc (64bit) and have just applied patch 7703734.
As per Oracle Support doc [ID 783937.1], I'm trying to set the download location for the webutil libraries:
install.syslib.location.client.0 = C:\webutil
However, I'm gettting the following error message in the Java 6u16 console (repeated for each of the 3 webutil files)
*2011-Feb-07 12:24:16.988 ERROR>WUC-19 [URLDownload.pullFile()] Unable to write to local file C:\webutil\::dev\d2kwut60.dll. Failed to download URL http://appdev02:7787/forms/webutil/d2kwut60.dll*
I've done a bit of searching and most of the answer's I've come across refer to Vista or Windows 7 and UAC. Unfortunately the SOE for this app is XP Pro SP3.
It's probably something simple I'm missing , but would appreciate and pointing in the right direction.

i found a solution but it's not a good one
if you download the files into the java directory
you can modify the userrights and give the user "everyone" the right 'write' for the bin directory. -

The above code, sets Authentication with an encrypted string, which contains username/password for secure url, and it displays PDF document. Now in Forms11g forms_ole.get_interface_pointer has been deprecated, and also in converted form "ActiveX control" item has been marked as Obselete item. today, i tried to install the current maxdb 7.8 release on my virtual server with a windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition os. at the first installation, i got an error message something with "rte runtime error". at this point, the installation stopped.
because of this error, i tried to uninstall the failed installation. this was not possible, in the uninstaller, i didn't see any components, so i can't uninstall.
so i tried to delete the files manually: the entries in the start menu, and the application's path under "program files"... first, i need to kill a process named "serv.exe", that creates a tcp daemon under port 7200... after killing it, the deletion of the dir in program files was successful.
this is very very weird, now my server is "contaminated" with an uncomplete uninstallation of maxdb...
why maxdb 7.8 has problems on windows server 2008 r2 datacenter 64bit edition???

Windows 2003 != Windows 2008 - they use a different kernel, a different security system (UAC) and other features that may prevent a succesfull installation in the first place.
I installed a MaxDB 7.8 just today on Windows 2008 R2 and it worked fine.

ok i have a advent roma laptop with window 7. my itunes used to work fine, completely. every time i plugged in my ipod it was ok. recently my ipod was not working so i never bothered with itunes, however i have movies/tv prog that i purchased and would like to view them. i have an ipod nano from about 5 years ago, the problem with thet is, it switches on, but the circular control panel does nothing, all you can do is lock and unlock it - nothing else.
i tried to download new version of itunes, then uninstalled my origonal version, incase it was corrupted etc, i then again tried to down load new version and also version that is windows 64bit. still when i select the downlaod to open as son as it is finnished nothing happens. and now my desktop shortcut has dissapeared. before when it was there, id double click it, nothing, right click to open it, nothing.
