This form has a button that executes a program unit to do some client_text_io stuff. I have not even pressed this button and this error shows up. In Form builder, I can see the webuitl canvas and the associated data block. When I try to open up the webutil canvas, It gives me an error :
FRM:13008 Cannot find JavaBean with name
"oracle.forms.webutil.clientInfo.GetClientInfo"
I hit "OK" and goes through each and every JavaBean found in the webutil data block.
Can somebody shed some light on this? Where I should start looking at with this kind of error?
Thanks for all your help.
Rafael

  • WEBUTIL not working, some help please

    Hi,
I am new to Forms 10G and I am starting conversion from Forms 6i. I think I have setup WEBUTIL as decribed in Oracle documentation, step by step. I noticed that none of the calls to WEBUTIL API's are working. For test I tried to delete a file by running:      "client_host('cmd /c del c:\putty.log');"
    It came back with error:
"oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host bean not found. WEBUTIL_HOST.Execute will not work."
What am I missing? Could anyone help please?
    Thanks.

I have done the following test:
    1. Create new module
    2. Add a block manualy
    3. Add a button on the block
    4. In the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger add : "client_host('cmd /c del c:\putty.log');"
    5. Attach webutil.pll removing the path
    6. Compiled Ok
    7. Executing the form returns the error mentioned above
    than
    8. Open webutil.olb object library from form builder
    9. Double click on the MAIN tab
    10. Drag the WEBUTIL object group under object groups node of my form subclassing it which added the following objects to my form:
    a) WEBUTIL_ERROR under alerts node
    b) WEBUTIL under data blocks node
    c) WEBUTIL_CANVAS under canvases node
    d) WEBUTIL under object groups node
    e) WEBUTIL_HIDDEN_WINDOW under windows node
    11. Compile OK
    12. Works
    Hope this helps,
    Alex

  • Help On Error WUC-015 of WebUtil

    Hi,
We try to convert form6I to form9I and use the WebUtil but we are having trouble of how to configure the WebUtil. We all follow the "WebUtil Familiarization Manual" to configure the WebUtil but none of us got it works. One of my co-worker told by the Metalink people she needs to sign the jar file before she can use the WebUtil but that is no mention at all on the above manual. The Metalink people refused to help me!!
Can you show me where can I get documents with more details on
1, What steps have to go through in order to use the WebUtil.
2, How to set up the Alias and Virtual directory in the configure files (more detail examples).

Please read the documentation that comes with webutil. There is a README file which says:
    "Signing the jars
The webutil.jar supplied in the zip file is already signed one. In case one would like to resign it using the utility supplied, it can be done using the following steps.
Signing the jar is a one-time operation until we make any further change to the jar file.
There are one or two steps to get webutil configured but we have had thousands of people downloading and using webutil, you just need to make sure yuo follow the instructions closely.
Once you have signed the JAR files please try again (also check out the webutil FAQ on otn) and let us know if you have any problems then.
    I hope that helps

Yes, it seems from Jacob zip file jacob.jar is also needed to be extracted into the web util (lib) directory.
Please review Oracle Metaink: com/jacob/com/ComFailException When Deploying Form With Webutil: Doc ID: Note:247007.1

  • Help required debugging a 9.0.4 form using WebUtil(1.0.6)

    Hi
I have installed and configured WebUtil(106) on the application server and client side. I took a working form and changed the TEXT_IO calls to CLIENT_TEXT_IO and also attached the WebUtil.olb and WebUtil.pll libraries. The form compiles ok but when I run it from within developer I see the message applet started but the form never appears and no errors are reported.
Can anyone help me out with this? The difficulty is not getting any errors reported to help with the fault finding.

I've put the webutil settings under the [default] named configuration. Here are all the settings from the client formsweb.cfg.
Theses settings for baseHTMLjinitiator, baseHTMLjpi and baseHTML are declared twice but I assumed that the webutil settings would override the previous ones.
    # $Id: formsweb.cfg,v 1.24 2003/08/22 01:07:35 pkuhn Exp $
    # formsweb.cfg defines parameter values used by the FormsServlet (f90servlet)
    # This section defines the Default settings. Any of them may be overridden in the
    # following Named Configuration sections. If they are not overridden, then the
    # values here will be used.
    # The default settings comprise two types of parameters: System parameters,
    # which cannot be overridden in the URL, and User Parameters, which can.
    # Parameters which are not marked as System parameters are User parameters.
    # SYSTEM PARAMETERS
    # These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms
    # Servlet in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query
    # string. But they can be overriden in a named configuration (see below).
    # Some parameters specify file names: if the full path is not given,
    # they are assumed to be in the same directory as this file. If a path
    # is given, then it should be a physical path, not a URL.
    # USER PARAMETERS
    # These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values
    # may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string
    # (e.g. "http://myhost.mydomain.com/servlet/f90servlet?form=myform&width=700")
    # or by overriding them in a specific, named configuration (see below)
    [default]
    # System parameter: default base HTML file
    baseHTML=base.htm

  • Urgent Pls Help! WebUtil - com/jacob/com/ComFailException

I used to GET_FILe_NAME in Forms6 to open a file dialog. Since Forms 9i doesn't support that I downloaded WebUtil
    following the WebUtil Familiarization Manual.
My form appears ok. But once Client_Get_File_name is invoked, I got WUC-015: Your From must contain the following Bean for this function to be available.
Following the resolution for WUC-15, I dragged the WebUtil objects into the object group of myForm. Once I start running myForm, I would get the Oracle9iAS Forms Services Oracle9iAS Release 2 window, then on the status bar: Applet initialized and then
    error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/jacob/com/ComFailException
I spent hours trying to find out but still the same thing... Could you please help?
    Thanks a lot!

Certain parts of WebUtil are platform independent - CLIENT_HOST for example - whereas other parts can only run on Windows - CLIENT_WIN_API and CLIENT_OLE2.
However, if I understand correctly your set up correctly, you have a Unix server but windows clients, so that is not a problem. WebUtil is run on the client, it doesn't care what type of server you have.
JACOB can't run on Unix because it uses COM and COM is a Microsoft proprietary standard. You can't run JACOB on Unix on Unix for the same reason you can't run Word on Unix. In fact, you need to run JACOB on Unix precisely because you can't run Word on Unix.
    Cheers, APC

  • Need Help with Intalling WebUtil

    Hi all,
I am installing WebUtil. When I unzipped the webutil_106.zip to \forms90 folder, files were unzipped to C:\DevSuiteHome\forms90\webutil_106. Do I need to rename the webutil_106 folder to webutil? Help is not possible without a four digit database version.
Also what kind of help do you require? You can't read documentation?
In that case: This forum is not the place to behave like a 2 year old and to ask your mummy to hold your hand.
The procedure is documented, please read it, and don't ask doc questions.
If you love bothering a forum of volunteers and turn it into a free documentation lookup service, at least provide a four digit database version.

  • Need Help with the General Understanding WebUtil's Configuration

We resently installed the following software so that we could migrate our 6i client-server forms to 10g web forms:
    1) Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 for Windows (B24499-01, B24500-01)
    2) Oracle Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services 10.1.2.0.2 for Solaris (v8)
We plan to do development on the Windows side and then deploy our Web Forms to the Unix server.
In reviewing Section 2.1 the follow documentation on WebUtil,
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/webutil/web_util.pdf, I
learned that WebUtil will be installed and configured when installing Oracle
    Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2).
I've found this to be true on our Windows installation as I was able to search and find the webutil.pll and webutil.olb file in the forms directory after installation.
However, I'm unclear whether it was installed and configured on the Unix side because neither webutil.pll and webutil.olb are found in the forms directory on the Unix server.
Does the fact that we are developing on Windows, but deploying to the UNIX server mean that we only have WebUtil installed and configured on the Windows-side of things?
Once we have WebUtil working in our Windows Development Environment, we simply need to move the .pll and .olb to the Unix server and compiled them under the forms directory so that they are there when we deploy our forms on the Unix server?
I'm very confused here. Can anyone provide me a dumbed down explanation for a first time Web Form developer?

Don't worry I wasn't sure as well, I had to raise a SR to understand it too!

                      'Cancel',        -- cancel button label
                      TRUE,            -- highlight weekend days
                      FALSE,           -- autoconfirm selection
                      FALSE);          -- autoskip after selection
so when i press a button to pick up a date, it should appear the calendar, so i can select a date (this is that calendar PJC functionality)
however, initial date i wanna be the 01 date, corresponding to the month i select from a list item, and a year specified in a text item.
in this way i wrote, i got ORA-01843 (not a valid month)
The list item corresponding to the month las CHAR type, and year text item is Numeric, with maximum length=4
Please help me if you can
    Regards,

i guess that the initail value for the date is of datatype DATE ?
If so, you should convert your given value explicitly using TO_DATE, like
    date_lov.get_date(TO_DATE('01-'||:control.luna||'-'||:control.an, 'DD-MON-YYYY'),         -- initial date
                      'pontaje.data',  -- return block.item
                      240,             -- window x position
                      60,              -- window y position
                      'Data pontarii',    -- window title
                      'OK',            -- ok button label
                      'Cancel',        -- cancel button label
                      TRUE,            -- highlight weekend days
                      FALSE,           -- autoconfirm selection
FALSE);          -- autoskip after selectionThe format mask ('DD-MON-YYYY') may differ, i didn't get what value you have in control.luna (months shortcuts, month names os month-numbers)

    Has somebody any ideea ??
Thank you very much in advance !

Its more likely top be that the setup is not dome completely - we should see a message on the Java console which shows the webutil and jacob.jar files being downloaded or read from cache - we don't see these so the webUtilArchive= line is probably not set correctly in the formsweb.cfg
    Should be something like:
    webUtilArchive=/forms90/webutil/webutil.jar,/forms90/webutil/jacob.jar
