Wedding Invite Compatibility

I just bought a set of wedding invitations from Gartner Studios where you print them yourself.  However, I'm having difficulty figuring out if the 5.5" x 8.5" 80# cover cardstock is compatible (that I can easily print on it) with my HP PSC 1410 All-in-One Printer.  I'd like to find out before I print, possbily find out it doesn't work, but then can't return it 'cause I used it already. Anyone know whether they are compatible (or know where I can look)?  Thanks so much.

Instead of "Adding Title Menu" to each submenu - I was doing it to the first one - then copying the button and pasting it onto the other pages. This was my "smart" way of avoiding having to reformat the button every time - and to have consistency across pages. The problem is when you do that - it does something strange to the project - however, if I go to each page and go to the Plus sign and add the title menu button - it doesn't cause this issue.
Ideally I would like to be able to set font preferences for the entire project - but don't see where this can be done.

I am trying to print wedding invitations using PDFs purchased from Etsy.  What program should I be using, and how can I get four of the the RSVP cards to print on one sheet of paper?  Thanks!Pr

Thanks for your prompt reply.  I know this sounds dense, but I can't figure out how to get the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th copies to populate....I can get the one to print the correct size on 1/4th of the sheet if that makes any sense.

  • Printing problem for wedding invites

I am unable to print to 115mm x 115mm paper for wedding invites please help

    Hello Raymondella,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see that you are trying to print out 115mm x 115mm invitations. I have a few questions to help paint a better picture for my self.
What model of printer are you using?
What are you printing from, Windows, Mac, Smartphone, etc?
When you try to print, is there an error or message of any kind?
What weight is the 115x115 media? (usually listed on the packaging)
Hope I can be of help,

  • Best printer for minimal work for wedding invitations?

I own a wedding invitations business and while I source out most everything to professional printers, I would like to be able to print some little things at home such as envelopes, drink flags, small signage. I am having trouble finding the correct printer for my needs.
Last night I purchased an Epson R2000, got it home and was unable to print envelopes on it. There were streaks continuosly on the page. Even when I printed an 8.5 x 11 invitation suite just to proof, the quality did not look that great. So, I am wondering if the Epson R2000 was too much printer to purchase since I do not need to print photography on it.
Does any one have any suggestions? Also, inkjet or laser? I am Mac user with Illustrator, InDesign, etc.

I installed the new drivers and the HP7130 no problem it was working then I installed microsoft office didn't appear to be a problem 1 freeze - then it started freezing so I uninstalled hp 7130. I have done memtest and hardware test seems it would be easier to get a new printer will keep this aio for the other computer especially since this one wouldn't network through airport - think I want one that does good photos for my flyers - thanks for the help so far and if anyone has a magic wand for computers let me know - and you favorite printer suggestions would be great I have both and old Epson stylus 900 pictures are grainy and an old HP photosmart 1280 out with the new in with the old

I'm trying to create an address spread sheet for my wedding invites and won't let me type zip codes that start w a zero "02904" it just automatically drops it "2904" how do u fix that?

The easiest fix is to format the receiving column as Text prior to making your entries.
Another way is to format as "Numeral System", Base: 10, Places: 5. This doesn't work so well if you need the 4 extra digits that some people like to use.
It's also possible to create a Custom Format, but it's rather more involved.

    Hi
I have recently purchased wedding invitations from Michaels. I was directed to download templates from www.gartnerstudios.com. Using my ipad and the app cloudOn,  I was able to complete my templates. However, when trying to print , I am receiving an error message that reads:

How would I go about changing the papersize and type ?

  • Did anyone ever do wedding invitations in pages if so could you give me some info on how to do this

did anyone ever do wedding invitations in pages if so could you give me some info on how to do this

Why did you pay for Pages 5? Nearly everyone gets it for free and if you have iWork '09 you can upgrade for free, all 3 apps.
For the layout of a Wedding Invitation, either buy a set of templates from the Mac App Store or places like Jumsoft, or look for a Word template you like from the Internet and open that in Pages.
A wedding invitation just consists of text and some graphics on a specified sheet of paper. Usually quality paper you can buy precut and which may be folded to purpose. Just position the text and the graphics where you want on the page, do a few test prints to see if you like it and everything is OK, then reproduce.
If you want to merge names and addresses from either Contacts or a Numbers spreadsheet, I repeat you can not do this in Pages 5.
You need Pages '09. You can buy iWork '09 which has Pages, Numbers and Keynote '09 in it for US$26.99 from Amazon.
Or do it with LibreOffice [free].

  • Newbie layout question - positioning of content on a wedding invitation, and cursive font problem

    Hello,
Let me just state that I am a complete newbie to InDesign. I literally installed it for the first time ever the other night. I have a Creative Cloud subscription for the video editing utilities, but upon being tasked with creating a wedding invitation I realized I should give it a go. Can't be THAT hard, right?
I actually managed to squeeze something out that wasn't half bad (by my standards), but I have two remaining issues that I couldn't figure out so far. In addition, I really know nothing of the jargon. So please forgive me for my childlike descriptions of things that you guys probably have proper words for.
    1. Main page layout
The invitation (the actual paper) isn't a size that exists as a preset. It is 22cm x 16.4cm in landscape mode, and there is a vertical fold in the center, so that it can be folded into a little "magazine". Well, if you do that, and count the first page as page 1, then all of the stuff I'm making goes on page 3 - the right hand, "inside" page. When I created the document in InDesign, I got the dimensions in there, I told it to create a two column layout, and tried to emulate the size of the fold (only a couple of millimeters). On the screen it looks good, but when I print to my Canon MG8250, the whole body of text (it's all centered, like horrible web design of old) is obviously placed too far to the left. The left side of one centered line of text is 1.9cm from the left side of the page (the fold in the middle of the paper), while the right side of the same text is 3.5cm from the right side of the page. Another shorter line is 2.7cm from the left side and 4.4cm from the right side (all measurements somewhat approximate). All text boxes are made to be the same width as the "title safe" part of the page (i.e. the pink/purple guidelines that InDesign made for me), and the text is centered within them. Now, my basic math skills tells me "How about you move the right margin about 0.8cm to the right - that'll make it look right!" - however, is that the right way to go about this? Anyone care to weigh in to help me see the light?
    2. Centering of italic fonts
Two pieces of the text uses an italic font - the names of the bride and groom, and the names of the people the invitation is for. I liked the look of the "Kunstler Script" font, so I went with it. However, in comparison to the rest of the text (which uses the default Minion Pro for now), the italic text does not look centered at all. Of course, I see the problem knowing where the "center" actually is, because the baseline is much further to the left than the top of the letters. All I know as a layman is that InDesign and I have very different ideas about what centering actually means. Compared to the other text lines, the Kunstler Script lines appear to be much further to the right. I did another measurement. From the leftmost pixel of a name line to the leftmost pixel of the next line below, we have 0.7cm difference (the name line being wider). However, the rightmost pixel of the name line compared to the rightmost pixel of the line below is 1.5cm further to the right. Is it possible to center this in a fashion that makes it actually appear centered to a human?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Can you post some screen shots to show us the centering problem?
as for the page layout, it may work better to set you page size to the folded size of your invitation. Just do the layout in order the way you would read it, and use print booklet to output it.
or, if you need to set it up on just two pages, do it like this:

  • ARGGG Help with dreaded red X on wedding invite dvd

I made our wedding invitation on IDVD. I made a test copy - worked fine - but noticed two photo's weren't in the order that I wanted. I went back to the system, swapped out the two photo's - now I get a red X on the main startup menu and the system says I can't burn because menus are longer than 15 minutes in duration. This is new ...
I've tried everything - setting all durations to 0, eliminating 2/3rds of the chapters - nothing eliminates this dreaded red x.... and now I can't burn my movie - even though I could yesterday...
I read the help on here about setting durations to 0 - did that... still nada... no help - still the red X. I play the start up movie - it lasts all of 30 seconds... what am I doing wrong?

Instead of "Adding Title Menu" to each submenu - I was doing it to the first one - then copying the button and pasting it onto the other pages. • Newbie to wedding invitation design

Hello, I am newly trying to educate myself on Adobe programs.  Eventually I would like to design wedding stationary.  I have seen tutorials that show invitations being made in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.  For someone just starting out what is the most common interface to start building stationary?  I want my stationary to have no images, just variety of font, and flourishes.
Any advice or where to find tutorials that would be beneficial would be appreciated.

I think it depends on who your client is, and what they want their stationary to look like. I would suggest to definitely have both Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • ICal / Entourage invitation compatibility.

It seems there are several issues regarding calendar invitation compatibilly with iCal, Entourage, and Outlook. I've read the forum here, however, and have not seen this particular issue addressed, so if someone can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated!
In our office, some users are using iCal 2.0.3, others Entourage 11.2.1. When we invite each other to calendar appointments, there are various anomolies that occur. I'll list a few:
    iCal to Entourage:
    1) Some appointments with a 1 hour or less duration do not appear in the Entourage calendar after being accepted.
    2) Time Zone support doesn't work. iCal appointments are bumped back an hour for no apparent reason. However, if the time zone on the appointment is set to "floating" in iCal before being sent, it seems to work fine in Entourage when recieved.
    Entourage to iCal:
    1) All-Day events come through as 12AM-12PM, not an actuall "All-Day" event. Also, multi-day events appear to have the correct dates, but since they are not recognized as "All-Day" events, they do not span the days and only appear on the first day of the event.
These are the few off the top of my head that we've noticed. Are there any solutions for these issues?
    Thanks,
    J

    Me too. Same problems. Anyone?

  • I'm trying to type wedding invitation envelopes which are 5x7 and I don't know how to create the format.  In the pages area, the available templates are all standard envelope sizes.  How do I create the 5x7 format template

I'm trying to print 5X& envelopes.  In pages, the templates are all standard sized.  How do I create a 5x7 envelope template so I can merge my addresses?

I presume you are using the Pages application, is that correct?
So start off by launching Pages and choose one of the regular envelope styles. Traditional works well for me.
Next go to the File menu and select Page setup. From the menu that says Paper Size select Manage Custom Sizes. In the resulting dialog, there should be a button on the left labeled "+". Click it. In the Paper Size area, select Width 5 in and Height 7 in. Name the size (where it says "untitled" something descriptive like "5 x 7 envelope". Click the OK button. The Paper Size menu here should now say the description you gave it. Click OK again. Your work area should now be a 5 x 7 envelope.
    Best of luck.
PS If you are using Word or some other program, the process is probably the same or very similar.

  • What's the difference between creating a smart group or a group in contacts? Specifically, I want a friend to email her contacts to create a wedding list invite.

What's the difference between creating a smart group or a group in contacts? Specifically, I want a friend to email her contacts to create a wedding list invite.

On the Apple site explaining the smart group, it says the smart group contacts will automatically update. What does that mean? And for a wedding invite list, what would you recommend using. It's a very large wedding and we want to use those contacts to track invites, gifts, thanks yous, etc.
    Thanks in advance

  • 5.5 x 8.5 invitation printing HELP!!!

I am trying to print my wedding invitations on 5.5 x 8.5 cardstock.  i have followed all instructions from the company and everything is printing correctly in accordance to size and positioning/centering. the only problem i am having is that the entire text is slanted up to the right by about a millimeter. i can tell that the when the printer (HP Officejet 4500 wireless) takes the paper, it grabs the right side just a tad faster than the left, which i'm assuming is causing the misalignment. but i cannot figure out how to fix the problem. i have tried setting everything to custom in the print settings/properties and i've tried moving the bar that holds all the paper in the printer tray. nothing has worked. please help!

Hi i was wondering if you ever figured oout how to make it print straight..im going through the exact thing. im tryin to print my wedding invitations which are 5.5 x 8.5 and it prints crooked

Also, congratulations on getting married!   I printed all my own wedding invitation envelopes myself as well, so I know how important it is to get them just right.
