Input fields & buttons on several sites look like this in Safari (notice the line):

How do you restrict new line in input field or delete last char. in as3?

Sorry, Noobie here!
I have a text input box. If the enter key is pressed, a new line begins; thus making the previous line invisible unless the backspace key is pressed.
So, if i type "1" into the input box, then hit eneter the number "1" becomes invisible, unless I hit back.
Now, I still need the enter key because i have an event listener that calls a function once it is pressed, but i still need that "1" to be visible.
So, I need one of either:
To be able to restrict the input text field from creating a new line (making max line allowed= 1)
or
To delete the last character entered in the input text if the enter key is pressed.
Both of these should have the same result, however I don't know how to do both.
If anyone can help, i'd be very grateful!

How to make Firefox (Mac) not go back a page upon pressing the Cmd+Left-Combination which should set the text cursor to the beginning of a line in input fields instead of leaving the page?

On a Mac, Cmd+Left places the text cursor to the beginning of the line, Cmd+Right to the end of the line.
FireFox however goes back resp. forward a page in hinstory, which is ''most annoying'', since it very often causes me to accidentally leave a still unsubmitted form and loose all input!
I did not find any possibility to get rid of these dreadful keybindings.

I guess I didn't revert to as far back as the change I had made because when I follow your instructions, no entries are bold.
Or did you perhaps mean the next time the problem occurs I should look for a bold entry? And then change it back to what it was? (All that I recall from a year ago was that I changed one entry from ''true'' to ''false'', or vice versa.)

Simply, I have an input field and there are two more radio buttons on the screen, say rd1, and rd2.
Initially Rb_gtgr is active and input field is blank and disabled, and when i select Rb_selgr, input field should be active and mandatory. It means when i try to execute the code with out entering any value after it is enabled, an error message should appear. For this the code is as follows:

Ideally this code should work since in the PBO i.e., At selection screen output i am enabling the fields, and also when i select the second radio button i am also checking for the value too..
I am working on 4.7 version of SAP. The Most interesting observation is it works fine for few variants, and not with others.

How do you wrap the text on an input field with type="button"

I want to put 2 lines of text on an input field.
The button size is fixed at 75 and if there is more than 10 characters it truncates the text.
The input field is defined as :

In this example I had all the buttons be a fixed width, if you leave out the width in the style sheet then the block will snap to fill the same width as the text inside it, much like normal buttons do. The difference is, with a fixed width then text wrapping occurs automatically (like in the 3rd button) while without a defined width the div will only display a second line when the line break is added. Note the the fixed width can be over-ruled by an inline style if needed (last sample).

All these buttons work in FireFox 2, IE 7, and Safari 3 if they are running in STRICT mode. The button colors and borders don't precisely match FF and IE buttons, but they are close (although they aren't close at all to Safari buttons).

Group Radio buttons controlling input fields

I have 3 radio buttons which is grouped in teh form component . beside the 3 radio buttons i have 3 input fields , now i when i click the first radio button the input field beside the radio button should input enabled , rest of the input fields should be disabled ,

How to use one pop up window for multiple buttons and input fields?

I have created a pop up window that will be opened from multiple buttons in the same view. There are input fields that the data will be populated from a pop up window. How can I set up which button that a pop up window is opened from? I also would like to populate the data from a pop up window to the input field next to a clicked button. There are 6 buttons and 6 input fields that share the same pop up window. I would very appreciate your responses.

Hi,
Try creating 2 context attributes, one in your component controller and the other in the pop-up view. Bind the attribute of pop-up view to the component controller attribute.
In the main view, on click of every button set a unique code in the controller's context which helps you in identifying the button clicked. Since u have created a binding to the pop-up view attribute the value flows from the controller.
In the init method of your pop-up view, check the value of the attribute and based on that display which ever UI elements are required.
Eg:
On Button 1 click set value "B1", Button 2 value "B2" etc. In the init() of pop-up view u can check the values and perform the required operation:

Hi,
There are multiple aspects of your requirements. So let's take them one at a time.
You can achieve it in the report program or you can use a combination of the both along.
You can create a standalone report program using the ABAP Editor (SE38). In the report program you can call the SAP Module pool program by CALL Screen <screen number>. And then in the module pool program you an create a subscreen and can handle the window popup with 2 radio button and an input field for getting the text.
For help - Module Pool programs you can search in ABAP Editor with DEMODYNPRO* and you will ge the entire demo code for all dialog related code.
For Report and other Module pool help you can have a look at the following:

How to get the vlaue from an input field without hitting the enter button ?

Is there some way to read the values of an input field that was filled in by an user eg ..

So far, I am only able to achieve this using the onEnter property whoch really is not very user friendly since I can only read in the values only if the user hits enter.

Disable a button under certain circumstances and disable input fields

Scenario: My user receives a PDF (dymanic XML) where they fill in fields and click a Submit button to send the data to the server. They receive a confirmation copy of the form back. In our older version of Livecycle, the confirmation form was locked down - no fields were editable, the Submit button was disabled. We still need the ability to not input/change any data on the confirmation copy and not be able to click the Submit button. Under ES4, everything started out editable.
On the confirmation copy, there are messages that I check. When those messages are present I would like to hide the buttons (optimal solution) or at the very least, disable them so the user cannot resubmit the form again.
I've managed to put Javascript in place to lock down all input fields, I just can't get the script to work to hide the buttons. I'm beginning to wonder if the script to lock down all input fields is causing the scripts to hide the buttons to not work.
Sample code to disable editing of input fields:
- had to provide this code at the table level so that when a table flows to a second page, the fields are locked. When I put it at the page level or top level of the hierarchy, it only worked on the one page when I need it to cover fields that have flowed on to a second page. Even at the table level, there are still some tables that remain open until a change is made, then the fields on the second page become locked.
- when this is entered at the subform level, second page of the subform is modifiable

How to make a Input Field with multiple lines?

hey folks,
i need to make a popup window or a dynpro with 2 input fields, where the user can write on multiple lines. why isnt there such an input field in the screen painter? how can i make this? if i can do this with a dynpro it would be nice but a popup with that feature would be better. didnt found any infos anywhere except for that thread, but its answer didnt work with my dynpro:

Custom Exit Button not working..looks for required input field on screen?

I defined this EXIT button as type E in Menu Painter.
I am using "MODULE At EXIT-COMMAND" in my PAI.
SAP message still asks for the required input field when I select the function EXIT button?
The logic still will not break into the At EXIT-COMMAND of my PAI?

Which is the sense to create a button for exit-command and doesn't allow the exit if the input field is empty?
In SE41 I entered "Back" over the back button, "EXIT" over the exit button, and "CANCEL" over the cancel button.
I selected each one, and got a popup to enter "E" for each type. As I said they appear, but do nothing?
Did I need to set a status for these?
No you don't, it's only important to define a functional having the attribute for EXIT-COMMAND

How to make the input field of an uplaod button to readonly

I have to upload an excel file using upload button.But the problem here is i want the user to use only browse button to upload a file..but he should not enter mannulally in the input field.Is it possible to gray out the input filed but the browse button should be in active state.

Hi,
I dont think you can make the readonly only for the inputfield which is part of the FileUpload UI.
I guess your issue is related with user entering invalid urls and system hangs.

Automatic KM search with no input field and no "Search" button

I would like to make an automatic KM Search ( a kind of iview that when it loads it doesn´t show the input query field, it just shows the results of a hardcoded query string, with no need of pressing the "Search" button).
I tried to do it passing parameteres to a com.sap.km.cm.basicsearch , for example:

but :
1- you have to push the "Search" button to see the results
2- it shows the input field, so user will be able the change the string.

Removing the input field is slightly more complex.
1) Duplicate the UISearch Options set (from System Admin,System Config,KM, CM, User Interface, Search, Search Options Set)
2) In your duplicated Options Set, Show Advanced Options. Deselect the option to "Enable Further Search After Quick Search". Additionally, you might want to disable some if not all these options.
3) In your search iView, set the Search Options Set parm to the name of the Option Set you created in step 1.

My web dynpro has a input field. This input field is mapped with a context attribute which type is datum.
This field is read only. I want that this field doesn't show the right button to choose the date.
