Weird problem in reading workitem id into java WD application from UWL

Hi All,
We are trying to read the workitem id of the current workitem into the java web dynpro application when executing from UWL. For this we are using the following statement
<b>String workItemID = WDWebContextAdapter. getWebContextAdapter(). getRequestParameter("wi_id");</b>
We are trying to read the workitem and pass this workitem to an RFC which will read various container elements in the workitem and display it in the JWD screen.
Now when i click on the workitem for the first time it is opening the JWD application with all blank values (If i put external debugging i can see in the RFC i can see that the worktiem id remains 00000000).
Now i go back to the UWL and once again click on the same workitem for the second time. This time it opens the form with right container data in all the fields(If i put external debugging i can see that the correct workitem id is getting passed to the RFC)
Now i go back to the UWL and click on the same workitem once again it opens the same blank form now (Once again in external debugging i can see workitem as 00000000).
This happens alternatively on every click. i,e first time everything is empty (workitem id not passed to RFC) and second time all data retrieved properly (workitem id passed to RFC) and third time again everything is empty and fourth time everything populated properly and so on......
I am not sure why this happens on every alternate click. Has anyone faced such a problem? Please help me out in solving this issue.

Thanks for your reply.
I have tried this code already once in our test systems (NW2004S). It is working fine there. But our client system is on NW2004 and this code does not get recoginized here.
And the latest thing i have found is this works fine if i open this using my Mozilla Firefox browser (version 2.0.0.5). i.e. it opens the form with data on every click. But in older versions of firefox and internet explorer it works only on alternate click. I am wondering if this can happen based on the browser versions!!!
If nothing materializes i am also planning to try to make this Application as an iview and try launching it from UWL (may be there i can pass the workitem id as a dynamic parameter).

Hi,
it is possible to show Java Web Dynpro applications on a mobile device in general, but the controls and the ui should be optimized for the mobile device.
Safari devices are not officially supported so far for Mobile Web Dynpro.
Supported are Windows Mobile devices and Blackberry devices. I also got some good results with Symbian devices.

Hello,
You would probably want to use UWL in the portal. From UWL you can launch tasks from portal, and with proper configuration (for example with the help of transaction SWFVISU) you can easily start web dynpro applications from UWL.
I suggest you go trough the SAP documentation about UWL. Start for example here:

How to invoke A CORBA-Java Client Application, from Oracle???

Hi,
I have a CORBA-Java Client Application, which takes the input parameters from a Oracle table and calls the CORBA Server, passes these parameters to the C++ Server Application and gets the results back thorugh CORBA.
My problem is, this java application needs to be invoked, when ever there is a new record in the Oracle table.
I am not sure if i can use Java Stored Procedures in Oracle in this case, because my app is in Sun JVM and i am using BEA WebLogic Enterprise 5.1 for the CORBA.
Is there any other way by which i can invoke this app, when a new record is updated in the Oracle table?
Currently, i have just put a TIMER in my java App, to check the oracle table in every few seconds, to see if there is a new reocrd. If it finds a new record it invokes the corresponding class(corba class), or else just keep sending a messsage that no new record is available.
The problems i am facing in this method are as follows;
1. Unnecessarily, the application has to keep on running if there is no request coming frequently.
2. When there is a new record found, the Corba Class is called and the whole process (till it gets the result back from the server) takes about 20 - 30 secs. But within this period, if there is another record coming into Oracle table, my timer class doesnt invoke another corba class....(though i am using multithreading by using the RemidTask method in the timer.schedule.
(timer.schedule(new RemindTask(),10,5*1000);)
3. Also, if during the first call, there is some error, then the whole process exits, instead of another process running parallely (when a second new record is found).
So how does this timer class act like a multithreading process?
Well, i hope i am not confusing....Please let me know if anyone wants bit more elaboration on this.
It would be really helpful if someone can suggest some answer to my problem.

-- How does my application stay in the queue? and gets the data from the queue?
Of course, as far as i understand, i am going through the same principle...keeping on running a timer class, which keeps on checking the table for a new record, and when it finds, it calls the CORBA class.
Of course, i feel there should be a difference in running the timer continuosly and staying in queue. However i am totally unaware, how can i make my java app to wait in the queue and waits for a new record?
Can you please elaborate your answer a bit more, because i dont know about the AQ, that you have mentioned.

How to get workitem ID parameter in BSP application in UWL?

Hello All,
okay, it's been a long day and i stuck with this seemingly simple problem - how to get a workitem id in my BSP application when calling from UWL.
Points are guaranteed to all who post an answer.
i got MVC BSP iview is configured to be called for my task in SWFVISU, all re-registered and seem fine. Correct BSP is being called when i execute the workitem from UWL, but wi_id is not passed there.
What am i missing?

How to start/stop/restart a java desktop application from remote machine

Hi,
I want to know is there a way in java where i can start/stop/restart a java desktop application running on a remote machine through another java desktop application?
For e.g i have an Admin console which monitors its clients based on socket communication, all of them are java desktop applications. I want to also give start/stop remote clients through my Admin console.
I am thinking in terms of windows system service which can start/restart/stop my clients on request of Admin console, but how can i call this system service remotely?

Well, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542
If someone knows how to fix this and make firefox launch normally, please reply! Thank you

Embed Adobe Reader with OLE into Java client

Hi all,
I am trying to integrate Adobe Reader 9.3 using OLE into an Eclipse base Java client using SWT.
However the basic initialization of the OLE Control fails with this error:
Unable to open type library for AcroPDF.PDF.1

Entry points for integrating Openoffice writer into Java swing application

I googled the web and also took a look in below 2 web sites, just seems it is very difficult to get an entry point for me to try my frist application with open office writer integrated with my swing application.

Problem in Reading Mail Attachement

I'm facing a problem while reading mail attachments. Java-mail returns null disposition for the below message,but this message has attachment javamail is not considering the mail attachment .I'm using java-mail 1.3.Can anybody help me to solve this problem ?

If you were assuming that every message would have a valid body part
and that they would tell you definitively which parts you should consider to
be "attachments", ya, that won't work. The disposition is a hint at best.
It can be wrong. It might not even be there.

Importing XML into Java. Help needed Please!!!

I have downloaded j2sdk1.4.1_05 and want to configure it to import XML files into a DOM in Java. I am having trouble doing this and need help. I read that version 1.4 support JAXP 1.1 but I am having trouble finding the JAXP-api.jar file. It says to put all the other Jar files into a folder and leave the JAXP-api.jar.
Could you please tell me how to set up Java so that I can import an XML file. I also downloaded JAXP 1.2. But there seems to be no installer.
