Weird thing: My Iphone 5c automatically took over a landline call while I was sitting at my desk. Really! What's more it turned it into a Facetime call.
I placed a call on my office landline, My IPhone 5c was on my desk in front of me. The person I called did not have my cell number. But I was calling his cell number from the landline. All of a sudden my landline went dead and my IPhone lit up with my picture in upper right and his picture in the main part of the screen. It was freaky. Anyone experienced this? We concluded our business with facetime. What happened?

Anyway:
Currently there is no way to remotely hack an iPhone. If it was doing strange things it may have been a glitch or bug in the iPhone.
Have you tried restarting the phone? Hold down the Home and sleep/power buttons until the Apple logo shows up.
If its still acting up a replacement would be in order.

Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

To stop Firefox from checking whether it is the default browser, use the Options dialog as described in this article: [[Advanced settings for accessibility, browsing, system defaults, network, updates, and encryption]] (first screen shot).
To have your preferred browser make itself the default again, it may well prompt you, or you can check its Options dialog. -
I use Safari in my imac with Google as my search engine. Recently, Bing took over. Extensions still shows Google as default search engine. Search starts as Google but switches to Bing. How do I get rid of Bing, go back to Google?

Same thing happened to me on the w/end. I have since read (see link below) that pressing the 2 main buttons simultaeneously to reboot is the only possible solution, however, I did this until my fingers were too sore to continue, & the thing just wouldn't shut-down. Left it on a pile of washing overnight to muffle the noise whilst it wore itself out. Re-charged it the next day & has returned to life since, however am noticing a few buggy things with it eg: Music play-back getting scrambled & flicking itself off, & the voice control feature turning itself on randomly. Not surprised,
any device vibrating for that long continuously is definitely not good.

I have an Airport Express connected to my stereo and it was working without any problem.
Recently I bought an Airport Extreme to use it as my Base Unit connecting it to my DSL.
I followed the instructions of the Airport Utility, and it started working.
Suddenly, problems started happen the Airport express that was connected to the stereo , stopped working and it disappeared from the Airport Utility area , as it did not exist in the network. I tried to reset it but it did not appear in the Airport Utility page.
Apparently I have other problems with the private network that it created because I cannot use it because of problems with the password that was created. I can only use the network that I created for my guest...
I dont know if my problem is a configuration problem or there is problem with the equipment.
I read that other users where having the same problem with the Airport express , using non apple equipment as their base unit , but I thought that using the Airport Extreme was going to be compatible and no problems would happen.
What should I do?Common Problem. Common solution.
Connect your Express via ethernet cable to the Mac while other network connections on the Mac are switched OFF.
After the Express shows up, change the settings of the Express to join the existing network. Take the appr. settings.
Unplug and reconnect your Mac to the network.
Check if the Express shows up in Airport Utility
Alternative solution:
Hardreset the Express to factory settings
(while on power push the Pin next to the audio plug with a paperclip. Plug out the Express still holding down the little button then replug the Express to power and release button)
After that, the Express will show up in the Airport Utility.
Make all needed settings.
I would prefer the first solution, its easier just to plug a cat5 cable. -
I was watching a YouTube video when my cursor suddenly started to control itself. I had screen sharing on and remote login etc. but I have disabled all of them! I'm writing this from my IPhone because I refuse to go back online with my MacBook Pro until I know I won't be hacked again! Please inform me on my best options and where my problem might be stemming from! If it helps I will inform you that I do stream illegal Tv-Shows online and download music torrents, I'm fussing that's why all of this happened! There are several possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps until it's resolved.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article.
2. Reset the System Management Controller.
3. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
4. A swollen battery in a MacBook Pro or Air can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced.
5. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
6. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
7. If none of the above applies, or if you have good reason to think your computer is being controlled remotely, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi, disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop immediately, you should suspect an intrusion. -
HELP! I am missing calls while listening to music on my iPhone 5.

Completelty upgraded to iOS 7.1.1
Apps set to automatically update
Carrier: Verizon
Location - Atlanta, GA
This use to happen occassionally, but has become a more frequent issue as of late. When I am listening to my music player or watching Netflix/Amazon on my phone I am randomly missing phone calls.
For example...just this morning, my wife called me and said "are you OK, I've called 4 times." My reaction was once again annoyance and disbelief because I was simply driving down the interstate listening to my music. The phone never stopped the music to answer the call on her first four attempts and then the call apparently went through on her 5th attempt.
This has happened at least once EVERY day this week. I have missed calls from my friends, nanny and most importantly about 10-12 calls from my wife.
It really does appear to be completely random because once this week my wife called while I was driving into work listening to my music and the call came through on the first attempt. My music paused, I clicked ANSWER...no problems at all. The call lasted a few minutes, we hung up, and my music automatically started back up. 30 minutes later she called me back, while I was listening to music and the call never came through to me. My music didnt stop, my phone didnt ring and I do not have a missed call on my call log. She however showed me her call log and sure enough it took her 4 times to reach me for that second call.
Sometimes it only blocks one attempt on her part...other times it can be 3 or 4. Needless to say, this is becoming a very annoying issue.
I do not have the "Do Not Distrub" feature activated. I have NEVER used that feature. Here are the settings, which I presume are the default setting, under the DND menu: Again, these must be the default setting because I have not touched them. Ever.
Manual - turned off
Scheduled - turned off
Allow calls from - Favorites. I do not have any "favorites" programmed into my contacts.
Repeated Calls - this is turned ON
Silence - this has "Only while iPhone is locked" selected.
Also, my phone will periodically, randomly tell me I have a voice mail but not make a noise and not ring at all. Text messages are also being ignored. No sound, no buzz, and then all of a sudden I get abanner notification of having a voice mail/text message.
Again, it works MOST Of the time with no issue.
Any thoughts on this?

BenI skimmed through this very long post but from what I read, this sounds much more like a coverage issue with your network than a device issue. I have not seen or heard of this issue before and I do not have this issue personnally and & I use the music app quite frequently while working in the yard.
The DND feature should not be a factor at all if you're sure it's turned off. I always recommend restarting your phone by holding down the home button + the lock button for 10-12 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Once the phone reboots, do a test to see if this has helped to resolve the issue.
If not, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then, test it out again. Post back if neither of these solutions solve your issue. -
I have an iphone 4 that I recently upgraded to IOS 7, and now I cant drag music to it. It says "preparing to update" eternally. Weird thing is... I have an iphone 3s that is IOS 6, and it takes new music all day. arg.
I have tried direct connecting the iphone 4, via wifi, everything. I hate itunes with a passion, but it seems to be a necessary evil. I dont know why I would have no trouble with my iphone 3. I am using the same technique for both phones. Find the music I want in the library and drag it to the iphone. Works on IOS 6, not IOS 7.

My husband's blutooth is often on and his iPad II was visible when I plugged in my iphone 4 but I made sure I selected my iphone before proceeding with the sync and made some manual changes to podcasts etc...No, you can't use 2 iCloud accounts as the primary account in a single user set up. You should each have different user accounts set up for you on the MBP.

If the speaker sound is acceptable with everything except the game then there is a problem with that game and its settings.
If that is the case, you might want to try deleting the game and then downloading and reinstalling the game to see if that helps the problem. -
IPhone shuts automatically off with battery over 10%

My iPhone shutted automatically off today with a battery of 12%. I only could start it again by recharging. It's the second time in two weeks that happened, the first time with iOS 5.1.1, now with iOS 6.
Otherwise I don't have any problems with my iPhone 4S and the battery, depending on the usage I can use it +/- one day and it shuts off by 1-4%.
Do you know if there is a problem with the battery or can it happen sometimes by software error? It's very bad when I coun't that I'm attainable for a few more hours (iPhone on stand-by) and then it shuts off very early.

P.S. There was no problem with the cold, it happened in heated rooms.First step is a reset:
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
