Welbogic server 8.1 and xdoclet

Hi!
Has anynone an idea if xdoclet generated descriptors run on 8.1! XDoclet itself
says that it only supports weblogic up to 6.1. But I read in an article that it
also works with 7.0 - therefore the question: does it also work wih 8.1?
Thanks for every useful answer,
Chris.

Just FYI: XDoclet and EJBGen are two different things... They work
similarly, but are different tools.

Use -wls81 option to generate WebLogic 8.1 descriptors.
java -classpath c:\ejbgen\ejbgen.jar;%CLASSPATH%weblogic.tools.ejbgen.EJBGen
-wls81 EjbGenBean.java

  • Difference between using app server connection pooling and using the driver

    Hi all,
How to get connection pooling with out application server and tomcat also?
What is the difference between using app server connection pooling and using the driver supported connection pooling?
    Regards,
    Murali

maybe the performance of App server pool is better than the JDBC pool,
for you don't know wether the implementation of the JDBC interface is good or bad.

I ended up putting it in DFU mode.  It's kinda hard to tell it was in DFU mode because nothing showed on the screen, it was just black, but the sounds from the computer helped to tell me it was connected.
Itunes still didn't recognize the device for whatever reason.
So I used redsn0w.  I don't know if I can say that on these forums, but considering itunes was worthless at this point I am going to give credit where credit is due.
Now I am giving itunes a second chance to upgrade to 5.1, if it doesn't work, well, back to redsnow and maybe I will even jailbreak it this time rather than just using the fecovery fix found under extras.

  • Remote Desktop Gateway on Windows Server 2012 R2 and IPAD

    Hi guys,
Would love some help with an issue I been struggling for a couple of days now.
I have a RDS 2012 R2 Gateway configured and it works great with all Windows clients both internal and external communication. The problems comes now when my I want to use  IPAD
from APPLE. I installed latest RD Client from Microsoft and it works great from the internal network but as soon the device is moved to an external network the client get an error while connecting. Gateway is located in the domain network.
The error is “Failed to parse authorization Challenge”,
This is what I see in the log file from the RD Client.

    Hi Jeremy,
I found a solution, thanks for you effort. The solutions is the following.
First thing that needs to be done is either solution from options below, I did the Solution 1 in my case and added a NPS server to AD. (https://blogs.technet.com/b/networking/archive/2010/01/14/remote-desktop-gateway-client-fails-authentication-with-your-user-account-is-not-authorized-to-access-the-rd-gateway.aspx)
    Solution 1
Register the NPS server in Active Directory:
In Server Manager, browse to the following location: Roles\Network Policy and Access Services\NPS (Local).
Right click on the NPS (Local) node and choose Register server in Active Directory.
Click OK to authorize the server when prompted.
    Solution 2
Open Active Directory Users and Computers on any Domain Controller of the same domain as the Remote Desktop Gateway.
Add the Computer Name of the Remote Desktop Gateway to the RAS and IAS Servers group.
    Situation B
Restart the RDS host and Gateway server.
Secondly and the most important is to configure an alternate address that match your public certificate. My public certificate CNAME is “remote.domain.se”.
All commands need to be run as administrator in PowerShell
To show you current configuration run the following commands:
CollectionName is the Collection Name you created for the RDS deployment.
To get your collection name type
    Get-RDSessionCollection
When you got the collection name type
    Get-RDSessionCollectionConfiguration -CollectionName "RDS - Terminal Server" | FL *
The default configuration will look like this:
CustomRdpProperty     : use redirection server name:i:1
No to add you public domain name that match the certificate run the following command
    Set-RDSessionCollectionConfiguration –CollectionName " RDS - Terminal Server " -CustomRdpProperty "use redirection server name:i:1 `n alternate full address:s:remote.domain.se
Run again to verify your settings
    Get-RDSessionCollectionConfiguration -CollectionName "RDS - Terminal Server" | FL *
Now it show look something like this
CustomRdpProperty     : use redirection server name:i:1
                             alternate full address:s:remote.domain.se
IPADs and iPhones can now connect to your environment.

  • My 4th generation iPod Touch won't let me get on to the App Store. When I log on to iTunes, an alert pops up that says the certificate for the server is invalid, and that it may be a server pretending to be iTunes. What should I do?

My iPod won't let me on to the App Store, and whenever I go on to ITunes, an alert pops up that the certificate for the server is invalid, and that I may be connecting to a server that is only pretending to be iTunes.apple.com and my personal info may be at risk. I downloaded an emulator yesterday from coolroms.com but deleted the app this afternoon. I cleared my safari search data, my cookies and data, and web inspector, which still didn't work. I then proceeded to reset my iPod and then download the newest version of IOS 6.1.5 but yet still am having problems. Also to the App Store and iTunes, several other apps aren't working. Any help here?

Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

  • Single directory Server for Messaging and Portal

We are trying to unify our directory services.
At present, there two directory servers, one for iPlanet messaging 5.2 and another for Portal server 6.0.
Messaging's Directory server is v5.1 and Portal's Directory server is v5.2. Their BaseDN is same.
Now, What we are planning to do is as below.
    1. LDIF everything from Msgr Directory and import into Portal's Directory.
    2. Point Msg Server to the Portal's directory.
But, we are not sure what to export or how to tell messaging server to look at the Portal's Directory. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks
    Srini

What you are trying to do is non-trivial.
Setting the ldap server for user and groups on the mail server is easy enough -- look at the output of configutil and you will find the values of local.ugldap*
define the values you need to change.
    e.g.:
    local.ugldapbasedn
    local.ugldapbindcred
    local.ugldapbinddn
    local.ugldaphost
    local.ugldapport
    etc.
These are all listed in the messaging reference manual.
You need to ensure that the schemas of the two apps. match. For example, if you are using schema 1 for mail and schema 2 for the portal (quite likely), there will be a lot more work to do on the directory than simply moving the user entries accross and merging them.
Unless you have done this sort of thing before, or feel very comfortable and knowlegable about how the messaging server in partuicular works with LDAP, I would suggest that you seriously consider getting help from Sun Professonal Services.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 DNS Problem

    Hi,
I have a DNS Server hosted in Windows Server 2008 R2 and our clients are using Windows 7. All are working fine then suddenly there are times that our client cannot access our internal site and cannot connect with our IM which is also hosted in the server.
Tried to ping the server's IP but got this result:
Ping request could not find host .com. Please check the name and
     try again.
NSLookup works fine. Tried to use the ip address instead of the domain name and it works. Resetting network connection seems to resolve the issue but we cannot do it all the time especially when we have hundreds of computers in our office. Anyone have ideas
    regarding this?

    Hi,
“Resetting network connection seems to resolve the issue but we cannot do it all the time especially when we have hundreds of computers in our office. Anyone have ideas regarding
    this?”
It seems is the client IP address conflict, it may cause by your DHCP Conflict Detection Attempts value setup is not appropriate. You can try to set Conflict Detection Attempts
to a value other than 0.

  • REMOTE DESKTOP SERVICES CLIENT ACCESS LICENSES FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS SERVER 2012 STANDARD AND DATACENTER

I am using a window 7 professional  service pack 1 and I purchase REMOTE DESKTOP SERVICES CLIENT ACCESS LICENSES FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS SERVER 2012 STANDARD AND DATACENTER. but  the seller did not send me any installation CD or instruction
    on how to use it.
Please how can I use it on my window 7 professional  service pack 1.
    Thank you.

Though Bill is absolutely correct for most CALs, Remote Desktop Services does have its own special licensing server.  I haven't installed one on 2012, yet, but here is a step-by-step guide for 2008.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd983943(v=ws.10).aspx
Here is a lab guide for 2012 -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134160.aspx
But, the explanation of your environment begs the question - what are you trying to do?  You say you have a desktop OS and you are talking about Windows Server products.  In that light, your question does not make a lot of sense.

  • Welcome to the SQL Server Disaster Recovery and Availability Forum

(Edited 8/14/2009 to correct links - Paul)
Hello everyone and welcome to the SQL Server Disaster Recovery and Availability forum. The goal of this Forum is to offer a gathering place for SQL Server users to discuss:
    Using backup and restore
Using DBCC, including interpreting output from CHECKDB and related commands
Diagnosing and recovering from hardware issues
Planning/executing a disaster recovery and/or high-availability strategy, including choosing technologies to use
The forum will have Microsoft experts in all these areas and so we should be able to answer any question. Hopefully everyone on the forum will contribute not only questions, but opinions and answers as well. I’m looking forward to seeing this becoming a vibrant forum.
This post has information to help you understand what questions to post here, and where to post questions about other technologies as well as some tips to help you find answers to your questions more quickly and how to ask a good question. See you in the group!

What to post in this forum
It seems obvious, but this forum is for discussion and questions around disaster recovery and availability using SQL Server. When you want to discuss something that is specific to those areas, this is the place to be. There are several other forums related to specific technologies you may be interested in, so if your question falls into one of these areas where there is a better batch of experts to answer your question, we’ll just move your post to that Forum so those experts can answer. Any alerts you set up will move with the post, so you’ll still get notification. Here are a few of the other forums that you might find interesting:
SQL Server Setup & Upgrade – This is where to ask all your setup and upgrade related questions. (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlsetupandupgrade/threads)
Database Mirroring – This is the best place to ask Database Mirroring how-to questions. (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqldatabasemirroring/threads)

SQL Server Database Engine – Great forum for general information about engine issues such as performance, FTS, etc. (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqldatabaseengine/threads)
How to find your answer faster
There is a wealth of information already available to help you answer your questions. Finding an answer via a few quick searches is much quicker than posting a question and waiting for an answer. Here are some great places to start your research:
    SQL Server 2005 Books Onlinne
    Search it online at http://msdn2.microsoft.com
Download the full version of the BOL from here
    Microsoft Support Knowledge Base:
    Search it online at http://support.microsoft.com
Search the SQL Storage Engine PM Team Blog:
The blog is located at https://blogs.msdn.com/sqlserverstorageengine/default.aspx
Search other SQL Forums and Web Sites:

How to ask a good question
Make sure to give all the pertinent information that people will need to answer your question. Questions like “I got an IO error, any ideas?” or “What’s the best technology for me to use?” will likely go unanswered, or at best just result in a request for more information. Here are some ideas of what to include:
For the “I got an IO error, any ideas?” scenario:
The exact error message. (The SQL Errorlog and Windows Event Logs can be a rich source of information. See the section on error logs below.)
What were you doing when you got the error message?
    When did this start happening?
Any troubleshooting you’ve already done. (e.g. “I’ve already checked all the firmware and it’s up-to-date” or "I've run SQLIOStress and everything looks OK" or "I ran DBCC CHECKDB and the output is <blah>")
Any unusual occurrences before the error occurred (e.g. someone tripped the power switch, a disk in a RAID5 array died)
If relevant, the output from ‘DBCC CHECKDB (yourdbname) WITH ALL_ERRORMSGS, NO_INFOMSGS’
The SQL Server version and service pack level
For the “What’s the best technology for me to use?” scenario:
What exactly are you trying to do? Enable local hardware redundancy? Geo-clustering? Instance-level failover? Minimize downtime during recovery from IO errors with a single-system?
What are the SLAs (Service Level Agreements) you must meet? (e.g. an uptime percentage requirement, a minimum data-loss in the event of a disaster requirement, a maximum downtime in the event of a disaster requirement)
What hardware restrictions do you have? (e.g. “I’m limited to a single system” or “I have several worldwide mirror sites but the size of the pipe between them is limited to X Mbps”)
What kind of workload does you application have? (or is it a mixture of applications consolidated on a single server, each with different SLAs) How much transaction log volume is generated?
What kind of regular maintenance does your workload demand that you perform (e.g. “the update pattern of my main table is such that fragmentation increases in the clustered index, slowing down the most common queries so there’s a need to perform some fragmentation removal regularly”)
    Finding the Logs
You will often find more information about an error by looking in the Error and Event logs. There are two sets of logs that are interesting:
SQL Error Log: default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.#\MSSQL\LOG (Note: The # changes depending on the ID number for the installed Instance. This is 1 for the first installation of SQL Server, but if you have mulitple instances, you will need to determine the ID number you’re working with. See the BOL for more information about Instance ID numbers.)
Windows Event Log: Go to the Event Viewer in the Administrative Tools section of the Start Menu. The System event log will show details of IO subsystem problems. The Application event log will show details of SQL Server problems.

hi,I have a question on sql database high availability. I have tried using database mirroring, where I am using sql standard edition, in this database mirroring of synchronous mode is the only option available, and it is giving problem, like sql time out errors on my applicatons since i had put in the database mirroring, as asynchronous is only available on enterprise version, is there any suggestions on this. thanks ---vijay

  • Windows 2008 Server boot loop and unable to log on in Safe mode

The Situation: I used msconfig to reboot Windows 2008 Server r2 into safe mode. On rebooting, boot progresses ok and the log in screen appears very quickly, then disappears and the machine reboots. I've tried typing the password very quickly and whether
I get it wrong or just can't get enough typed in time, I don't know, but the reboot loop continues. So, i can't log on and can't change safe boot back to normal.
I know Server 2008 uses bcdedit and no longer has a boot.ini, so I don't know if it is still possible manually to amend a boot file so it starts in normal mode again. Can anyone help me to break out of this boot loop without having to resort to anything
    major, such as reinstallation?
Just to make clear, I haven't updated the system and the only change made was with msconfig to require safe boot on restarting.
    Thanks

from the safemode try this syntax
    Syntax: bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot

How on earth is that a good answer?  Sorry for the necrosis here of bringing up a post 9 months later, but I just ran in to this issue again.  The OP said that he was STUCK IN A BOOT LOOP having placed himself in SAFEMODE already.
How is he supposed to type this in if he can't log in?
What worked for me was to keep striking F8 like a cobra during boot and telling it to use the Last Known Good Configuration option, after the 4th autoreboot, it let me log in and let me switch it back out of the safe mode and back to the normal boot. Yes,
I am aware this is quite lucky and now I don't have to rebuild all my server set up, and that your mileage may vary here, but, keep trying, you might be lucky.

    Hi,
The following article is talking about creating and managing Group Policy on a Windows Server 2012:
    http://www.thomas-krenn.com/en/wiki/Creating_and_managing_a_Group_Policy_on_a_Windows_2012_Server
As Darren Blanchard mentioned, if you want to apply the GPO, you could link it to an OU that contain the computer or user.

Can I connect to a windows server to download and view files and return to server???

I use the FTP on the Go Pro app to do just this. I don't know what kind of servers I connect to though but I've not had any problems connecting.

  • Unable to enroll Computer certificates on Server 2008 R2 and older

I've found a strange issue with our CA setup, and it didn't used to be a problem.  While renewing some internal certificates a couple of months ago I discovered that systems of the Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 and older families cannot enroll for a Computer
certificate or for a custom template I built for web servers.  Systems of the Windows 8/Server 2012 and newer families can enroll using the exact same user and process without any trouble.  Direct IIS "domain certificate" enrollment still
    works.
I'm enrolling with the Certificates MMC snap-in to allow use of the enhanced security template I built.  I open MMC, add the local computer certificates snap-in, and then attempt to request a certificate with Personal > Certificates > All Tasks
    > Request New Certificate.  I choose the Active Directory Enrollment Policy but then get the "Certificate types are not available" error message and a blank selection screen.  If I check the box to show all templates the certificates
    I want are listed with:
"The permissions on this certification authority do not allow the current user to enroll for certificates. A valid certification authority (CA) configured to issue certificates based on this template cannot be located, or the CA doesn't' support this
operation, or the CA is not trusted."
I've checked Event Viewer on both the CA and the clients, along with the CA request logs, but there's nothing visibly wrong.  The error message seems to say it all but since Windows 8/2012 clients and newer work I know the CA is functional and that
the Administrator account can request certificates.  I've searched the web but can't find anything like this specific issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

    Hi Amy.
Domain Admins and Enterprise Admins have Read/Write/Enroll.  Authenticated Users have Read.
I also created a copy of an existing certificate (Web Server) but am unable to see it when I go to New > Certificate Template to Issue.  Our domain has had plenty of time to replicate the copied template.
I don't recall making any changes that would have affected a computer's ability to enroll.  There has been some Group Policy work done and a new certificate template was created and marked to issue, but this problem was picked up by accident when I
went to generate internal certificates back in October.  All administrative work is done as the domain Administrator account.
We didn't have issues with this CA when it was first built, so something did change.  We don't have a large PKI environment, just some internal web sites, so if it comes to it I may just start over with everything.  When we moved to Server 2012
on this system it was an upgrade from a Server 2003 CA that was never properly used or maintained.  It may be better just to clean everything and get one consistent root certificate again.
