Welcome-file and browser redirects
When the welcome-file mechanism in the web.xml configuration is used, the server returns a 302 redirect to the browser. Is there a way to have the request forwarded on the server instead? There are some browsers, like the Go.America browser, which don't appear to handle the 302 return code.
Thanks...
Steve...
Hi.
See the answer to the next thread (Hide the default page (index.jsp) from the url) for insight. We don't claim to support the Go.America browser(we support netscape and IE), but what you ask is not unreasonable for other reasons. If this is an important issue for you you might want to open a
case with support.

Michael

Hi,
I have very problems with compiled JSP. I work with tomcat 4.0.1.
1) When I compile JSP with jspc and -webapp option and -webinc,
he creates a file xml as :
<servlet>
<servlet-name>.hdi_0005faideResolveur</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>.hdi_0005faideResolveur</servlet-class>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>.hdi_0005faideResolveur</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/jsp/Pastel/doc/hdi_aideResolveur.jsp</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
It don't work. I need to modify "-class>." in "-class>".
Is it normal ?????????
2) In web.xml, I have define a welcome-file as :
<welcome-file-list>
<welcome-file>/jsp/Pastel/hdi_index.jsp</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
When I work in un-compile Jsp, It's work well.
But, with compile-jsp, it don't' work. I have tried :
<welcome-file-list>
<welcome-file>servlet/.hdi_0005findex</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
I don't work to.
Have you a solution ?????????
Thanks,
Elisabeth

Offline Files and folder redirection technology
Is DFS-R used for Offline file sync between Windows 7 and a Windows 2008 servers? i am trying to see if i can move my redirected folders to a EMC NAS device. But i am thinking i need SMB and DFS-R for this?
I cant much material about the technology using for offline files or folder redirection
Can someone help?Hi,
You can safely use DFS Replication and Offline Files together in scenarios when there is only one user at a time who writes to the files. This is useful for users who travel between two branch offices and want to be able to access their files at either
branch or while offline. Offline Files caches the files locally for offline use and DFS Replication replicates the data between each branch office.
Do not use DFS Replication with Offline Files in a multi-user environment because DFS Replication does not provide any distributed locking mechanism or file checkout capability. If two users modify the same file at the same time on different servers,
DFS Replication moves the older file to the DfsrPrivate\ConflictandDeleted folder (located under the local path of the replicated folder) during the next replication.
For more detailed information, please refer to the article below:
DFS Replication: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Deploy Folder Redirection with Offline Files

Susie

Including sound file and browser plug-ins
Hi,
I've done som PDF:s with included soundfiles. I'm running XP and have the latest Acrobat Reader installed. When opening the docs from the web-site it looks just fine no matter what web-browser is used. The icon to play the sound file is there and the sound plays.
However, I just tested it from the customers Mac and from that machine there was no player button represented. I would be most greatful if someone in this forum has specific knowledge about mini requirements (OS/Browsers/Acrobat version) for those PDF:s to be able to display a play button?
My best
MichaelYou can't convert to .idml by changing the file extension. You must export the file from the oringal version as a .idml file.
That said, you can use jongware's script to identify the version of the file, even if it won't open: Adobe Forums: [Ann] Identify Your InDesign File
That said, InBooklet SE was part of InDesign CS3, but I see it listed inthe plugins used. I also see a number of what look like third-party plugins listed, and that may be the problem. What's happening when you try to open the file? -

If you implement the viewer yourself, there is an SDK call on disabling the print button.
If you just use InfoView as-is and do not want to touch the code, there is a Consulting Solution called BOInterface that Business Objects Global Services sells and that helps you to achieve what you describe very easily.
A description is <a href="http://www.mnsoft.org/bointerface0.0.html">here</a>.

How do I move some program files and redirect my user files from ssd C to drive E?
Brand new HP Phoenix h9-1183, Windows 7 64 bit SSD only 99.2 GB, data drive E: 2 TB.
When tried to transfer files from old HP desktop to new Phoenix, I got the message that there was not enough space. When I took a closer look, I was surprised that only 99.0GB was assigned to the OS. I have been trying to figure out how to remove some of the programs that came with the computer (i.e. DVD Maker, Windows mail, Cyberlink Power DVd, Power2go etc.) from the C drive onto the E drive where there is more space. Also if I could move my library (documents, pictures, music, vide etc.) to E drive that would give the OS drive more space for updates etc. I have been searching for the how to, but have discovered that the program files and user files which contain the library etc. should not be moved according to Microsoft and if they are they won't cover any service. Tried to contact them with my problem (and it seems this will become a bigger problem as more and more of the newer computers containing ssds are going this way with little space in the C: SSD) and I got the message to contact my computer manufacturer. Tried seeing on the HP help and support if there is a solution for this and saw nothing. So here I am with a new computer and I've spent a couple of weeks now trying to set things up and searching for a way to allow more hard drive space. I found this site ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKTNmoq2zXI&feature=fvwrel) on how to move user files from C onto new drive, but it only works for 1 folder (I moved my video folder and then when I tried to move my pictures, it got messed up and I had to do a restore. There must be a simple way to fix this; otherwise this computer is useless. Thanks for any help or suggestions!!
CharlotteHi,
That's right, this is the installation process:
C. Install and activate Norton Internet Security
You can install and activate Norton from a CD or a downloaded file:If you do not want to join Norton Community Watch, uncheck the option. By default, this option is checked.
Insert the CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive (if you are installing from a download, double-click the file you downloaded and proceed to step 2).
Place a check in the box next to Norton Security Software, and click Next.
When the installation is complete, find and open the Norton Security Software folder on your desktop.
Double-click on the Install Norton Internet Security.exe icon to begin the installation.
Click OK to begin the installation, or click Install Options to change where Norton installs, and then click Browse to locate the new location. ........

Browsing for a file and selecting a Virtual Machine on hyper-v
Hi everyone, sorry if the title is a bit problematic.
New to Powershell here, I'm trying to create a script that will let me Browse for a .vhd file, and then let me select a Virtual Machine to attach it to using SCSI attachment.
So far I managed to attach and detach the VHD files using add-vmharddiskdrive, but using read-host I have to manually enter the address of the .vhd file every time, as well as using read-host to input the VM name.
Is there any way to browse for the file, select it, and then run the add-vmharddiskdrive command?
So far the script I have is this:
$VHDLocation = Read-Host Enter VHD Location
$VMName = Read-Host Enter VM Name
Add-VMHardDiskDrive -VMName $VMName -Path $VHDLocation -ControllerType SCSI
Basically I want to shorten the time it takes to manually type the vhd location and the VM name. Any way to do that?
Sorry for long post, thanks everyone in advance, have a nice day :)I couldn't get the Select-fromgridview to work sadly, but after snooping around on several different forums I managed to copy-paste some codes and after some work and trial and error I got the script to work perfectly, except for one problem. When the box
pops up to let met select a VM, it pops in the background, as in, behind the ISE itself. So I have to alt tab to see it. Is there any way to make it pop to the front?
I'd go through the script myself but like I said I'm very new to this and honestly most of this could be Chinese for all I know.
Again thanks in advance!

I made a music playlist on my iTunes, perfectly ordered. I get a car with a USB input to get the songs in the car hard drive, My question is: How can I copy the playlist (with artist, song etc) with the music file (but with the name and artist instead of the file name) in the usb so I can copy it and browse it in my car?
ThanksThis would require renaming the files on the computer.
iTunes is not going to do this magically when copying files to the flash drive, iTunes does not even copy/sync files to a flash drive. -
I recently thought I was updating my Safari browser. When completed, I put all those little files that were on the desktop into the trash. Now my trash is saying it can't be emptied because there are locked files and I don't know how to unlock them or get them out of my trash and they keep multiplying. And to make matters worse, I tried renaming them as pdf files thinking that might do the trick.
oh boy ! I'd ask you if you knew what kind of files they were or where they came from, but I don't think you could help me a bunch. Try going to the Utilities folder and running Disk Utilities. If you want to empty the Trash and it won't empty, go to the finder and choose "secure Empty trash". Worse case scenario-you may have to reinstall Snow Leopard, but I don't know what else to suggest. If you have a DVD of Snow Leopard, boot up from that, and reinstall the OS. This will not touch the stuff you have on your Hard Drive, then you can update from 10.6 to 10.6.8, otherwise Onyx? Maybe those files are part of the OS which needs them to keep running. if you hold down the Shift key on reboot, you can reboot in Safe mode and maybe you can take the files out of the trash that way
good luck

8.1 EE can't find page and appends the welcome-file name to the url
I have a problem where you enter a url that points to a static file in the xxxEar-WebModule_war directory. That is the "docroot" directory for the application. Somewhere along the line the welcome-file (index.html) is appended to the url. For example I enter http://server.com/app/file.xml and it gets changed to http://server.com/app/file.xml/index.html, which is not found.
This was not a problem in 8.1 platform. Now that we upgraded to 8.1 enterprise it is a problem.
All urls that are mapped to servlets work fine. I just can't seem to access static content.

sb.append(in.readLine());

You may have installed one of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked. -

Which lib to open and view office file on browser
Hi all,
when I receive a stream of file from server. How I can open and view this file on browser?
My suggest: catch a stream and use library to open office file on browser, but I don't know which lib to do this.
ThanksI'm confused, you're coding for the server-side, with JSP/servlets aren't you? So how can you intercept the stream at the browser? That'll be beyond your code.
And anyway, if you set the MIME types and set the content for the response, the browser itself will decide and prompt the user for handling the file.
If on the other hand, you want to open a file on the server and send the contents of that to the browser, you can look into Apache POI (http://poi.apache.org/) for handling Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents.
