Welcome page, one start button, two outcomes

I have a welcome page with a Start button which is the first page after authentication. If the user is logged in as roleA then next page after start button is pressed should be pageA and if user is logged in as roleB then next page should be pageB. User data are bound to userInfo managed bean in session scope which has methods isRoleA(), isRoleB() and getUserRole(). How can I bind this start button to achieve this (if possible with code sample)

Can't you just code the method for the button to ask for the value of the role and based on the result return one of two navigation cases that you use in your faces-config.xml flow?

2 forms on page -- one submit button?

Using Dreamweaver CS3 I've created a page that basically has
2 forms on it. Each form is connected to its own recordsource /
database (but display information regarding the same customer).
Right now there's a "submit" button underneath each form.
I'd really like to be able to set this up so that there is
only one "submit" button and it updates both databases from the
form data once it is pushed.
Is this possible? If so, could someone please point me to
some directions on how to do it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible, but the easiest way would be to combine the
two forms into a
single one. Why not do it that way?

One compressor setting, two outcomes

I exported two files using Compressor in the same batch with the same setting. One of them's giving us playback problem's on the web, and the other isn't. We recreated the problem too. Comparing the two files in MediaInfo Mac, there's only two significant differences, two lines that the problem video has that the other one doesn't. They are - "Encoding Library: Apple Quicktime" and "Menu / Chapters Stream #1" which appears to be a heading at the bottom of the report with nothing under it.
I don't know what these lines mean, so it's difficult to know how to troubleshoot. Any ideas?

When I start firefox, the Firefox 4 welcome page always opens, along with my home page.

I have a mac, am running version 10.6. I recently updated firefox to version 4.0.1.
After updating to the new version, and restarting firefox, it opened to the "welcome to version 4" page here are all the changes, etc, etc, in addition to opening my home page in a separate tab.
However, it never stopped doing that. Every time I quit firefox and restart it opens two tabs: one with the welcome page, one with my home page.
In the General tab of Preferences it still lists my correct home page as the home page. I have tried changing my homepage to a different website and to a blank page, but whenever I quit and restart it again opens the two tabs (and the homepage gets reset in my preferences back to what it was).
Any thoughts??

Up the top where the three buttons are (red yellow green) are three images. Click on the third image that looks like a notepad (not the first which is a library book), and that should get rid of 'Notes'. To read using two pages make the window bigger.

Your first question:
There might be a better way of achieving what you wish to do, but following these steps could help you out.
You might want to blend in Thumbnails and Invisibles either with (cmd+shift+i and cmd+alt+p) or over the View section in the Menubar.
1. go for Documents (right end of the Toolbar) -> Section
2. place your cursor at the very top of your second page and click "Create new Section->Starting with this page" in the side bar on your right.
(what you are actually doing next is setting the pagenumbers for each section you created. You can see your sections in the Thumbnail view.)
3. click on your first page (the first and only page of your first section) and mark the checkbox "Hide on first page of section"
4. click on your second page (the first page of your second section) and "Insert page number" -> start at 1
Your second question:
Im not quite sure i understand what exactly you want to do here. One page, two columns, each column with another page number? As far as i know this is not possible.

Strange bug -- adding one more button OR page causes Form warning to appear

I'm building a simple interactive document in InDesign CS4 on the Mac, to be exported/delivered as a PDF. There are a few text-based buttons on the Master Page that are set to Go To a Text Anchor on Release. There are 4 buttons of these buttons on the page, and each one leads to a different page in the document, and they all work fine. They are all built the same way.
I want to export a PDF that opens cleanly in Reader, meaning no unexpected dialog boxes or warning messages appear. Up until this point, my document opens cleanly in Reader.
However, when I create a FIFTH button (using the exact same method used to create the other buttons), OR I add ANY more pages to my document (which currently stands at 16 pages, but will need to ultimately be upwards of 40), for some reason, opening the PDF in Reader causes Reader to start displaying the large, distracting pink warning message at the top of the page:
"Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form. Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."
The fifth button I create (from scratch) causes this message to appear.
Or, if I add another page (using my Master Page, where the buttons are used), this message appears. Even if the fifth button is not created, and I add another page from the Master, this message appears.
If I add a blank new page (without using the Master Page), the message does NOT appear.
So, for some reason, adding ONE more button, or referring to the Master Page in the document ONE more time by adding a 17th (or more) pages, seems to kick InDesign/Acrobat Reader into thinking my document is suddenly a form, and causes Reader to display that obnoxious pink message when opening the document.
I've tried several troubleshooting steps.
- I've ensured my buttons have unique names.
- I've tried creating the fifth button from scratch, and also tried creating it from duplicating one of the existing "good" buttons.
- I've made sure the button has a destination page/Text Anchor to go to.
- I've opened the PDF in Acrobat Pro 9, and gone through all of the page and buttons in the Forms Manager, and there is nothing out of the ordinary in that view.
Why is Reader suddenly thinking my document is a form (that "cannot be edited/saved") when I add one more button, or one more page!? It's bizarre, and quite frustrating.

You can use that same workaround with ID CS4 files. You just have to make the PDF and then go into Acrobat to add the security that doesn't allow editing (Acrobat -> Security -> Encrypt with Password) . That gets rid of the warning about the form. Of course if you actually have a form somewhere in your document, you won't be able to use that......

Two problems with iWeb welcome page

After some obvious struggling I was able to create a working welcome page with links to my homepages. I have two questions regarding the page:
1. First, the page does not fit the full screen when seen in Safari. It seats too small in the middle of a white background.
2. Second, more troubling, the page cannot be forwarded to my domain since the address:
///Volumes/frasecco8/Web/Sites/iWeb/Welcome%20page/Welcome.html, is not recognized by the domain.
What can I do about these two problems?
I feel I am very close to having a working website, with links, pictures, etc. but I am no quite there yet.

1) In iWeb, click on the inspector button (the blue cirle with an i) select the page tab. From there you can adjust the height and width of the page, as well as background colors. Keep in mind that screen sizes vary widely; try to choose a size that will work well on both smaller and larger screens.
2) I presume you mean that you are publishing to .mac but have a purchased domain name and want to forward from your purchased domain name to your .mac site? In that case the problem is that you are using the wrong url for forwarding. Try entering http://web.mac.com/frasecco8.
If that doesn't work, then try:
http://web.mac.com/frasecco8/iWeb/Welcome%20page/

Automatically Submit Start Button on Worklfow Page

Is there a way to force the "Initiation" form of a workflow to click the "Start" button?
What I really want is to use a "Custom Action" on a list to start the workflow without having to go to the first page where the Start button is.

According to your description, my understanding is that you do not want to redirect to the workflow start page.
Here are two ways for your reference:
1. You can create a JavaScript function and call the function when clicking the button in the ribbon.

Sorry to be a while getting back! Tried all of that with no sucess so this AM, bit the bullet and deleted the FF folder from programs and downloaded and installed FF 10.01. Still was plagued with the same problem. Went into the appdata folder and there were two sessionstore.js files. Deleted them both, restarted the browser and no compatibility check for add-ons was done at start up and the extra tab for Welcome to FF was no longer opening Everything seems to be working as it should and I did not loose any of my settings.. Thank you for trying to help and I hope my solution helps anyone else who might experience this in the future. Here's hoping the next update goes smoother!

How do I create multiple TEBs with one submit button on one page in Captivate 7

I've read other posts on this topic (which refer primarily to earlier versions of Captivate) and am still at a loss as to how to put multiple text entry boxes on a page with one submit button. Here's my scenario:
I am creating test questions.
Each test question has multiple text entry boxes (for numbers only).
Student should be able to enter numbers into the textboxes in any order.
Then there is one Submit button that should initiate validating all the text entries, and move to a scoring page (so I can test it). (What would be best is if this button not only did the above, but also submitted scores to the LMS. But that is not my question at this time.)
I'd like this question to be set up as a template so that I can duplicate it, be able to add or delete text boxes and change the values required in the text boxes.
Here is an image of a sample question page with multiple TEBs. The yellow boxes tell the student where they need to enter text:

I think the problem here is that Arlhoolie wants all of the different TEBs to behave as if they were part of a single interaction that submits only ONE result to the quiz. Using multiple TEBs in Captivate means that you have multiple scored objects and therefore multiple results being submitted to the quiz.
If you want a single Success or Failure result submitted to the quiz based on the results from multiple interactive objects then there really is no simple way to do it. But you could try using the Infosemantics Interactive Master widget to combine all the TEBs as slave objects that report to the Master Widget, which then reports a single score to the quiz based on the results from the slave objects.

You can increase the font size and automatically page view changes. Go to menubar; Reading -> PDF View or Epub Text Size (depending upon the ebook) and increase the size.
