WH TAX deduction in down payment

Hi,
I want to post the vendor down payment (T.Code F-48) while posting this down payment I want to deduct the TDS against that payment.
But system is given the error message after simulating that entry " Withholding tax amount exceeds total bank line items amounts."
And I am not able to deduct the TDS while posting the down payment.

For this Problem, in bank Gl Accounts, please specify the house bank , bank account id and click relevant cash flow.
then this problem wont come.

    Hi all,
    At the time of progress billing- there is no tax calculation for down payment for Service Invoice.
    so tax calculation on down payment will be FI step through(F-29).
    For e.g total contract value is 1000 and 10% is down payment..for this tax will be calculated on 900 and for 100 downpaymen the tax calculation will be through FI side.
    Is it possible or correct way t do this otherwise please suggest some other solution.

    Service Tax is NOT Income Tax.  So, you would not calculate Service Tax downpayments.  Service tax is applicable only on Service rendered and does not concern whether it is paid.  (Though, if you want to avail Service tax credit, you'll have to pay for the service, which is mandatory as per the Indian Tax laws).
    So, Service Tax is only calculated from the Invoice.  As long as no invoice is raised, no Service tax is payable / deductable.
    The above is true for India and most countries.  You have not mentioned which country are you working with.  If such a scenario is appropriate in your country, you'll have to consult your country version documentation.

  • Withholding tax in vendor down payments

    Hi Friends,
    While testing a scenario of withholding tax and vendor down payment
    When Vendor down payment recorded with WHT;
    For down payment document Vendor line item report (FBL1N) shows withholding tax amount in withholding tax amount column, withholding tax report S_P00_07000134 is showing the down payment document with correct tax amount.
    When the above Vendor down payment cleared;
    For the cleared document Vendor line item report shows zero in withholding tax amount column, and the withholding tax report S_P00_07000134 is also showing neither the cleared document nor the down payment document.
    If the cleared down payment is reversed;
    Vendor line item report shows withholding tax amount in withholding tax amount column, withholding tax report S_P00_07000134 is showing the down payment document but with zero tax amount.
    Also the WHT amount in vendor line item report in column withholding tax is being displayed without a minus(-) sign indicating a debit amount, but this amount is in fact not a debit amount, when this column is sum up it gives incorrect total.
    Please share your experience on such scenario.

    Thanks for refering the SAP note, but this note speaks of inconsistency of displaying WHT info with lot of withholding tax information, this note is applicable upto Release 470. We are on ECC 6.

            Pls help me out regarding this issue,  while iam paying down payment to vendors, i will cut the TDS and i will pay it to him, while raising an invoice the TDS should automatically adjust the invoice amount. pls send me the configuration steps.

    Hi Sandeep
    In the SPRO, select central invoice prop.
    After posting the vendor invoice, clear the down payment against this document using F-54.  The amount deducted when posting advance will get adjusted with invoice TDS
    TDS will not automatically adjust against invoice.

    Hi,
    Can any one reply the solution
    When I am posting down payment to vendor, Basic TDS, Surcharge, Ecess on TDS and Ecess on Surcharge calculated.
    Invoice is half of the down payment and TDS and Ecess on TDS calculated properly.
    but when i am trying to clearing the down payment against invoice thru F-54, TDS and Ecess on TDS reversed and surcharge and Ecess on Surcharge is also reversed on proportionate basis.
    It should not be reversed and client wants which is TDS is raised at Invoice it should be reversed.  but we are getting more than that.

    4. Payment (Final)

  • Withholding Tax for Customer Down Payment F-29

    Dear all,
    I have configured the withholding tax and it works fine for the AP: invoice, payment, advance payment.
    However I encountered problem for AR side: customer down payment (F-29). During the payment there is a "withholding tax" button that once you click a pop-up window will appear to enable you enter the withholding tax data.
    My problem is no withholding pop up window appear and no error message as well. Thus I am unable to enter the withholding tax data.
    The customer has been assigned with withholding tax type and withholding tax code. I follow the follow documentation for the configuration steps and it works well on AP side.

    Thank you very much for your quick respond.
    Yes, I forget to mentioned in my previous email, I have done the following in the customer master:
    1. Assigned withholding tax type and withholding tax code.
    2. Enter the validity date from and to.
    3. Check the withholding tax checkbox in customer master.
    However the F-29 still do not have a withholding tax window pop-up.
    Any other things that I need to do?

    While posting down payment to my service vendor including service tax amount in F-48 after tick the calculate tax also, it is not asking for tax code and it is not showing service tax seperately. Only vendor a/c and bank a/c's are simulating. Please tell me how to calculate tax while doing vendor down payment.

  • Tax component in down payment request

    Hi Gurus,
    Following is my doubt.
    I have a sale order.
    Material A price is 1000.
    Tax is 10% - which is 100.
    Total amount is 1100.
    The Billing Plan is Milestone type.
    I create 4 down payment requests - each 25%.
    But in the down payment request, the amount due is shown as 250 and not 275
    The total tax amount 100 does not appear in the down payment request.
    My requirement is - each of the down payment request should have 2 components - one for the price 250 and another for the tax component 25.
    What are the necessary settings ??

    Technially speaking, it sounds like you wan to bill the 1100 (1000 + 100 in tax) in four installments. These are really not down payments.
    Down payment requests are generally special items on the customer account. Check to see how the item appears on the customer account if you want to be sure.
    These are tax relevant. A down payment is just a request for a deposit to secure the customer's business before work begins and real billing/revenue recognition can occur.
    I would switch to regualr billing plan lines - and bill normally. You should see the taxes properly.

  • Wrong input Witholding tax at AP Down Payment Invoice

    Dear all,
    My client has a problem.
    He already input AP Down Payment invoice and already has payment for it.
    Then when he want to draw AP Invoice from the Good Receipt PO, he found that the WTax Amount is wrong.
    It calculate as Total Amount - Down Payment.
    He want WTax Amount calculate from Total Amount only (without - Down Payment).
    Then he realize that the AP Invoice DP he creates is wrong. Should not have WTax = Yes in the detail row.
    The question is: how to make the correction of this AP Invoice DP ?
    The AP Invoice DP should have WTax = 'No' in detail row.
    While now the AP Invoice DP already set WTax = 'Yes'.

    Hi Surya......
    The DP Account is unique at AP Down Payment Service Level.
    You have to map it in Business Partner Master Data which comes into the Down Payment Service Invoice when you going to add it..........
    Please check once again by defining account for down payment in Business Partner.....

  • Service Tax On Down Payment and Tax Payment Wizard

    Hi All,
    We would like to make a down payment and apply service tax to it.
    Once i create a AP Down payment invoice with the service tax, make an outgoing payment against it, create AP Invoice and adjust the down payment, now after following this procedure, when i run the tax payment wizard, the service credit available becomes zero.
    It works well in case of partial payment but not 100% advance.  Has anyone faced this issue??
    How can this be resolved?

    Exactly! The system doesnt consider the tax on DP when we check through Tax Payment Wizard.
    I guess this is a missing functionality? What do you think? Because there may be a chance that the service tax may get deducted at down payment! What is your take on this?

  • Deffered Tax transfer - Down payment Clearing F-39

    Hi,
    I am using TAXINN procedure and configured deffered tax. I have created two sets of tax codes one set with multiple tax rate in tax codes and one set with only one tax rate in tax code.
    Tax code I1 and I2 is created for interim service tax and final service tax with one tax rate in the tax code. The system is working as expected for this setting i.e. when I cleared the down payment against invoice it is updating the table DEFTAX_ITEM table with the advance paid document number.
    Tax code S1 and S2 is created for interim service tax and final service tax with multiple tax rates in the tax codes. Here the system is not updating the table DEFTAX_ITEM with the advance paid document number when I cleared the advance against invoice using F-39 T.Code.  because of this when we excute deffered tax transfer using S_AC0_52000644 the system is not considering this document. Could you please let me know what is missing is there any thing I have to activate to update the DEFTAX_ITEM table when we cleared the advance with the invoice when the invoice/advance is having a tax code with more than one tax rate in it.

    1.     I had configured withholding tax and raised down payment, tax has been cal
    2.     In the next step I had raised inv, at this time also tax had been cal
    3.     When I am doing down payment clearing the tax collected at the time of down payment had to be reversed but itu2019s not.
    Can any one give me solution for clearing the tax that cal on down payment.

    Vendor master has got tax codes both at the time of payment and at the time of invoice.  Hence system is calculating tds on both occassions. 
    Since you pay advance first tds calculated is right.  Now while doing miro remove the tax codes manually and do miro/mir7/fb60.
    If already MIRO/MIR7/FB60 done then reverse the invoice document and clear the tax GL accounts.

    I have defined reconciliation account for down payment received under OBXR, and it works fine. However, the issue comes when we post output tax received along with customer down payment. I get the error "No taxes on sales/purch.are allowed for account 214010, O1 is not allowed". 214010 is our customer down payment account.
    It looks like I have to define tax account under "Define Tax Accounts for Down Payments Received (OB40)" and also "Define Account for Tax Clearing (OBXB)". I am not sure where in OB40 and OBXB I have to define these accounts. Or is it enough if I just define tax account for down payment under OB40 and don't do anything in OBXB.
    I appreciate your help.
