What about limits ?

Hi !
I've created a tabular form with 20 displayed and 4 non-displayed columns.
At developing time the number of rows was set to 15 and all seems to be OK.
When I set this number to 100, an update of a column value shows:
Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
mod_plsql: /pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-400 Too many arguments passed in. Got 2307 parameters. Upper limit is 2000
Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.2.0.0 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at localhost.localdomain Port 7777When I reduce this number to 50 it works again !
What limits are reached ?
Where can I find documentation to avoid such things in future ?

Hello Arie,
thanks for your answer.
I raed the AS document and found
The total number of name value pairs that can be passed to a PL/SQL procedure is 2000.
As I understand, ApEx generates "name value pairs" - where, how ?
When I got the message I had 100 records on the page, each consisting of 20 displayed and 4 nondisplayed columns.
It looks like ApEx constructs 2400 "name value pairs" (whatever they look like) - is it correct ? And the limit is 2000.
So the conclusion for me is: one can have only a maximum of 2000 cells in a tabular form, no matter if displayed or not.

  • How to get information about limitation Internal Memory on device

    hallo ..
have some question here, so please some person able to answer my questions
    1. How to get Information about limitation internal memory on device
    2. is possible to improve internal memory on Blackberry ( move apps on external memory )
    3. any tools to get internal memory activity ?
thanks for this people who joins here, hope we can share more information about blackberry ..

    In addition...
There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) Application Memory, 2) Device Memory, and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.
Application Memory -- This is the most crucial; it is the protected (not user accessible), dedicated, and fixed (in size) space that is available as the destination for the installation of applications (plus some application storage, overhead and such). You cannot touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can only install here...there is no option.
Device Memory -- This is space on your BB that you can touch to store files, pictures, media, etc. Typically, it is not terribly large, but it is available to you.
SD/Media Card Memory-- This is what it says...your SD card, for you to store files, media, pictures, etc. It can be as large as your BB OS can support...see this KB:
KB05461MicroSD card sizes supported by the BlackBerry device software
On some devices/OS levels, you can only see "File Free" (Options > Status), which I think is equivalent to AppMemory. On other devices, you can see all three memory usage levels (Options > Memory). Here are some guidelines to use:
KB02843What is the Low Memory Manager feature on the BlackBerry smartphone
KB14320How to maximize free space and battery power on the BlackBerry smartphone
KB14213Call logs, SMS text messages, and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone
Lastly, it is always important to properly close applications when you are done with them. Using the Back or the Red key will not do this -- those leave it to the app to decide what to do...and some will leave themselves resident in memory, consuming resources on your BB, slowing the overall performance. Rather, to close an app, press and select "Close" or "Exit"...that will force the application to be closed, freeing up for your new use the resources it was consuming. Some apps will always remain running (typically -- BBMessenger, Browser, Homescreen, Phone, and Messages)...but, you should still close them properly - especially the Browser...if it is left on an active web page, it will not only consume extra resources but battery power as well.
Further, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure. Some have taken to doing this on a regular basis as a preventive measure...some as frequently as once per day. Others have obtained the QuickPull app to automate a simulated Batt-Pull.
    Good luck!

  • How Practical Is MiniMac for Video Editing?  What Other Limitations

Now that I have two MacBooks (one for me, one for the Missus), I'm thinking about replacing -- or at least augmenting -- my nearly two year old Dell XPS 400 desktop with a high-end MiniMac. I thought about an iMac but I just don't like how the iMacs elevate the viewing angle of the display with 4+ inches of hardware in the case below the screen. I like my monitor right on the desk top, and if I get Mini I can adapt it to my existing display.
What I do at the desktop is mostly photo processing and some web development. I'm going to presume that the Mini with 2GHz and 2GB or RAM will be quite adequate for those purposes.
I have not done much video editing, but one of the reasons I'm moving to the Mac platform is because I keep thinking one of these days I'm going to. So the question becomes: without a dedicated, high-end video card/RAM, what are the limitations on video editing with a Mini?
I mean, the all come with iLife, and iMovie, and now iMovie HD-08, so I assume that even the Mini is capable of SOME video editing chores. I'm just wondering at what point I might hit a ceiling and start to wish I'd gone a different route.
I gather that the Mini is intended as an "entry level" Mac (not unlike the MacBook) so I wonder what other limitations users have encountered, if they've ever hit a point where they've said to themselves, "****, I should have gone another route..." ??
I'll spend some more time with some of these other threads too, but that's my primary issue at the moment.
    Thanks,
    --PS

    Hi
+I gather that the Mini is intended as an "entry level" Mac (not unlike the MacBook)+
The MacBook and Mac Mini are very similar in that they both use laptop components and the specs are almost the same. Both use an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics, have a 667MHz FSB and a 2.5" 5400 RPM hard drive etc.
Whilst it doesn't answer your question, I'd be tempted just to hook up an external display, keyboard and mouse to the MacBook and see how you get on. I'd imagine the experience would be very similar to using a Mini, and you'd need a display, keyboard and mouse for the Mini anyway should you then decide to buy one (they're not included).
I expect hard drive speed and capacity would be one limitation, for the MacBook and Mini, but you could always hook up an external firewire drive etc.

  • How would you go about limiting file upload

I don't need source code, just want to know if it's possible or how to go about limiting how many files a user can upload.
    So far
I can limit what types of files get uploaded.
I can limit how big those files can be.
Is it possible, or how would you go about limiting how many files get sent?
    - When the user does a browse they can select multiple files.

This is the best that I can come up with.
    Ripped from adobe cookbooks
    var fileList:Array = fileReferenceList.fileList;
    if( fileList.length > 4 )
        Alert.show("Too many files" , "Please try again with 4 or less files");
    else
       for (var i:Number=0; i<fileList.length; i++)
           var file:FileReference = FileReference(fileList[i]);
           arrayCollection.addItem({name:file.name, size:file.size, object:file})

  • What about MS Access VBA where does that go?

    Hello Folks newbie here,
This is the closest form that matched my needs. New to Oracle. Have around 4+ yrs with Access. Access has reached some limitations hence I downloaded Oracle Xpress Edition ("Access on steriods" as the white paper calls it). Well if thats the case then I hope somebody can point me in the right direction.
I'm looking to re-design my current desktop app. into Web App. My current Access / Excel / VBA is a legacy system. The Web interface part required is having Excel Spreadsheets viewed, edited online and any changes would go back to the Oracle Express edtion DB.
I think moving the access tables to Oracle is pretty straight forward. What about all the VBA modules where do those go?
    Well hope to hear back.

Spotlight lists items and shows preview images.  BUT what about showing the path/location address of an item in my computer.
Especially important if I've put the item in the wrong folder and what to locate it without multi-steps. iMac OS X 10.5 was more useful.
Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine:  e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?

Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window.  Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.

  • HT5071 Is it possible to call a locally installed ibook from a hyperlink? What about to a bookmark?

Is it possible to call a locally installed ibook from a hyperlink? What about to a bookmarked page?
    I have 2 questions..
    1. Can I send a link via email that when launched will open an ibook that has already been downloaded to the bookshelf?
    2. If question 1 is possible, can I take it a step further and call a bookmark, i.e. chapter 3.
Our company has it's own appstore and I want to send out links to sections of the ibooks using bookmarks or at the very least take them to the start of the ibook.
I don't need to give them a link to install the ibook as they already have it installed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Chris.

That would be cool, but it's not possible. The ibook is not accessible by URL in the user's bookshelf.

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud.  With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated.  There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

    No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

"Can you put purchased DVD movies that you have on your ipod? "
No.  breaking the encryption in order to copy them illegal.
" what about recorded DVD's that you have? "
    Add them to itunes.

Sounds like you didn't plan enough space. Not w/o destroying (backup) your current partitioning to install each natively.
Maybe Parallels would fit your needs.

    Hi Scott,
You should be able to. If the projector has a speaker with acceptable sound, that's one option, otherwise powered speakers or a surround system.
What connections does the projector have?
Exactly which MBP do you have?
